It's virtually flawless: even, stunning, and exactly what I wanted. I had an appointment but still had a 15-minute wait upon arrival. It wasn't a big deal at all, but they kindly compensated me with a $5-off coupon, which I thought was a very thoughtful gesture. Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. This is our regular spot for mani and pedi. They do a fine job for both men and women. I feel their pedicures include a little more than other nail salons. They always include paraffin on the heels and 5 minute massage. I get discounts having an account and paying cash. The equipment looks like it's sterilized and they cover the bowls for pedicures with plastic. They provide water or tea. It's a good neighborhood nail salon, not a luxurious spa. read more

After my eyebrows were done I was shocked by how little she did. Then my pedicure, my foot still had skin pieces on it when I was asked if that was good. I'm not going to lie but I followed my manicurist here after stores were able to reopen after NYC was put on PAUSE. She originally was in Kips Bay, but the owner had another shop in UWS. I only trust Janne because she delivers consistent results & is truly particular about the way she handles her clients. She's always cautious in what she does & makes sure you're satisfied with the results. I think the prices are decent for what you get. If you do want to become a regular, make sure to enroll in their loyalty program! I give kudos to Dream City for keeping it quite sanitary. They measure each customer's temp, give him/her hand sanitizer & spray alcohol at the bottom of his/her shoes. I feel safe coming in so snaps for them! read more

Very clean! Got a basic manicure pedicure combo. They offer water (room temperature or refrigerated). You can tell tools are clean/ sanitized and they also use single use things such as new pumice stone heads. It's nice that they include a heel softening treatment too. I don't typically write reviews so the fact I am leaving one speaks volumes. I would give the salon an overall higher ranking of 4 stars because it is clean and generally the service is excellent. I have had several good mani/pedis here, particularly with Mia. Today, I did a spa pedicure and regular manicure with Linda. Again, overall service was great but she should not be doing natural nails. My toenails are so jagged it looks ridiculous! I was trying to relax so by the time I noticed, it was too late. I paid more attention to my nails which ended up being a disaster. I wanted them short but she literally cut them to the bone and dragged a file across them. I had to sit there and file every nail on my own. She looked very annoyed but I couldn't possibly leave there the way they were. And I am never the type to do that! I had nice nails walking in- the manicure I received, I could have done at home with my eyes closed. Do not request Linda if you have natural nails. read more

Used to be a great place. Not any more. I have been going there the past 2 years. And it really used to be amazing. It still is ONLY if I get my regular manicurist. But the last few times I went there and she happened not to be there/busy with another customer so I tried some of the others. And all of those times I left with a bad experience - once it was my cuticles being pushed so hard back that they really hurt and one ended up bleeding, once the nail polish was put so poorly that it chipped within 3 days (and this was gel polish) and today the sole of my feet was burnt slightly with the super hot gel they put during a pedicure. This place really was amazing - but now they are always busy (it's at a great location) and thus they rush through the work and do a very shoddy job. Especially on a weekend. I think it's time to start looking for a different place. Really sad about that as I liked this place - but not anymore. Not after I had to hobble back home today post the pedicure... read more

They destroyed mi nails. I went here the other day, to get a pedi and mani. First of all when I arrived, I told them I had acrylic so they would need to remove that which I obviously knew I had to pay extra. When I sat on the chair they offered me water which ok that's nice but right away put my nails to soak in acetone so for the whole time I was not able to drink any water. Then one of the nail technicians comes with a metro card, that's right a metro card, to try and take the acrylic off my nails. I told her, they are not gel nails so they won't peel off, but of course she just ignore me and tried to peel them off with the metro card, she even tried to have another technician help and she also tried the metro card "technique" but still, not worked. The First technician tries again and I let her do her thing and she actually hurt me a lot while trying to do so, until she took a break from that and proceeded to do my pedicure, which felt super rushed and not relaxing at all! When she was done she went back to help me with my nails, at this point my hands have been soaking in acetone for the whole time. She left me in the chair by myself unattended for a good 15 minutes or more. I was very frustrated at this point, but when she came back she started cutting my nails which started flying everywhere, one landed on a different customer and the other on my face which scratched me a little bit. At this point the acrylic still would not come off and u explained her how my nail technician at the place I usually go to removes the acrylic but again, she just did her own thing. After having my nails soaking in acetone for over an hour and a half she finally removed the acrylic with the nail file drill but my nails and finger tips were in a lot of pain. I really wanted to speak to a manager but it seemed to not be one in sight and almost every technician in the salon saw this happening and did not care at all so my only hope was to walk away as soon as I could. A few hours later my nail polish chipped and the day after my nails started to break like crazy which is so wild cause I have always had thick strong nails, my finger tips are in a lot of pain and I had little cuts and dryness from the time I had my finger tips soaking in acetone. I will never come to this salon again, and I suggest no one does as well, until they address how they treat their customers nails. I'm so upset and my finger tips are in so much pain still after a week. read more

I went in for a regular pedicure and a manicure with extensions/design for my wedding. They did make sure I wanted the color I picked and let me pick a new one when I wasn't satisfied, however I felt rushed into and out of the chair. I also had to point to two spots that needed to be fixed because of nail polish getting onto my skin. They did a great job with the manicure. The nail stylist was nice, talkative, and made sure I liked my nails several times before continuing. When one of my nails popped off 3 days later they gladly fixed it free of charge. read more

I made an appointment using the Snailz app last week. My appointment was for 3pm for a pedicure and a child and I was confirmed. I brought a child who was there for her first pedicure and was super excited. When we arrived, there was a line of people waiting. ALL four of them said they also had 3pm appointments. They were swamped and clearly didn't have track of anyone's appointment. I asked how long it would be and they said to pick a color and it wouldn't be long since I had an appointment. We stood around for 35 mins - no where to sit. Then at 45 mins they let us sit in the chairs for a pedicure. It wasn't until 55 MINUTES later that someone came to work on us. The pedicures itself were super rushed and took less than 20 minutes which is very fast and seemed so cheap for how much I spent. The woman also cut my nail too short since she was rushing and I started bleeding. This was such an awful experience for me who gets pedicures all the time - but also for my child who had never gotten a pedicure before and this unfortunately is what she'll remember as her first experience. read more

More like 3.5, but I'm feeling generous. You'd think it would be easy to find a great (and decently priced) nail salon in a place like NY, but things sure have changed over the years. My first 2 Yelp-selected pedis this year led to me getting cut for the first (and second) time. Heck no! We initially planned to go somewhere else nearby, but once we arrived, we quickly turned around and scouted another spot. I won't tell where in case that's your go-to salon. Dream City got us in pretty quickly at 6:30 on a weeknight - we probably only waited about 15 minutes. Our nail techs were friendly and did a good job. The place was very clean and didn't really smell like a salon. Minus half a star because the callous removal and foot/leg massage were pretty limited. But, the price is excellent and they do have organic polish for $3 more. So I'll probably be back, but will continue to keep my eye out for somewhere as good as my go-to salon that closed a few years back since I still haven't found a solid replacement. read more

A new addition to the neighborhood. I got a pedicure and it's $35 I think. Not sure if that's market price on UWS but I know I can get something cheaper near my work in west village. With that said, they did a good job with my pedicure, nothing to complain. I like how they wrap some oil wraps around your heels to soften the skin, my heels definitely felt smoother afterward. This started out great - but then got worse and worse. If you're getting a basic mani/pedi you're probably in a great place. They were initially very friendly and prices are really good. The 3 stars is for the Dip Powder Manicure (see pictures). The Good: Got a pedicure first with Cindy. She was very friendly, pedicure looks great very happy there. I thought this would be good since all their ratings were 5 stars. The Bad: Dip powder manicure (also with Cindy) - I went in for my first ever dip powder manicure. I had done a decent amount of research online before going to see what it would look like. So when she had put the top coat on and it didn't really look like nail polish (smooth and glossy) I asked if it was supposed to be bumpy. she said yes. When it started drying more, white spots started appearing all over the nails to which she took the file out and filed (very aggressively) off top coats to re-do it. She was clearly annoyed that I said something because she made 3 of my cuticles bleed from how rough she was filing. She had to re-do the top coat 3 additional times because it wasn't drying properly, each time with a different issue. The good: they did take off an extra 20% for all the trouble. Overall, I would have gone back to this salon if it weren't for the poor attitude of the nail technician when I spoke up about the nails not looking smooth. read more

My nails a week later still look superb. Dream City Nail Spa has only been open for a few months and proven to be fantastic. They offer great combination manicure, pedicure and massage packages that are good value. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. My experience here was AWESOME! It started off great when I came in and had to wait about 5 minutes for my appointment time. Might not sound like much, but at a bunch of places, your appointment time is more like a suggestion, and you'll be waiting for 20 minutes or more. Lulu was my nail technician, and she was great. She immediately brought me water and even offered a stylus to use on my phone touchscreen while I soaked off my hands. My gel pedicure was extremely relaxing. Everything was sparkling clean and great. I got the most basic pedicure, and that still included an exfoliating scrub for my legs and a nice, long massage at the end. The massage chair was the newest technology, and by the end, I felt like I had received a high quality massage (I put it on the highest strength). Bonus points here for their gel being great quality, with it looking perfect, smooth, and shiny after it was done. My previous gel experiences were at places where a black and dark red polish weren't really opaque after 3 coats; clearly they are either watering down polishes or not replacing old ones. I usually feel that upgrading to a spa pedicure is a waste of money that involves paying an extra $25 for a halfhearted massage and foot scrub, but I have no doubt that here it will be worth it. I can't wait to come back and really treat myself next time! My dip powder manicure was also great! She was gentle, and there was none of this super abrasive drilling of my nails that some places do. My nails are all smooth and shiny now. Not everyone does a good dip powder application, but Lulu was a true professional. Small thing: but my entire lovely experience took about 2 hours, which shows she really knows what she is doing. At some places, these 2 services would take over 3 hours, which speaks to the inexperience of some nail techs. I loved my experience here, and I look forward to coming back. read more

I went in for a mani pedi after a long hiatus (due to covid) and it was so lovely to come to such a calming responsible nail salon. I've always liked this place but like it even more now because they have so many safety protocols in place, respect all the safety measures and make you feel comfortable and at ease.
