We had really good service and food. I had the poblano chile soup (poblano bisque with queso)...WOW! Delish! I also had a small garden salad. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. My boyfriend had ranchera enchiladas (I had a couple of bites...OMG, yum). The serrano peppers in the enchilada were perfect. They have a Sunday brunch that we're interested in trying next time. Love the decor as well.

Ay Dios Mioooo!…read more Craving some Mexican food w/ a tweak here & there? Manuel's is your next go-to spot. With its own private parking, a reservation absolutely seemed like a must when my family saw how many guests were coming in and going out. Thankfully, we had one and it took a few minutes for them to take us to our table. UBER grateful that they were able to accommodate us to a booth seeing our two toddlers. We pretty much had an idea of what we wanted to order from the get go, having done our research prior. Out of everything that we ordered, a few dishes stood out -- Sopa de Elote, Flautas w/ gulf shrimp and Manuel's Flan. The Sopa de elote was *chefs kiss* -- rich and creamy, a bit savory, and had an appealing look. The Flautas w/ gulf shrimp were crispy and full of flavor, especially with the sauce and the side of rice. The portions were adequate for 1-2 people if sharing, and we felt more than full after dining here. * the flan was EXQUISITE -- I don't think I've ever eaten a flan so quickly * The dishes that I was expecting more out of were the nachos and the Chile Rellano Del Mar. That said, I personally just wasn't a fan of how the nachos looked and tasted, and the chile rellano wasn't something I was used to eating in this manner. Both were mild MILD and I expected a bit more flavor. Our server was AMAAAAAAZING. I believe even the owner even came to our table to ask if everything was good, which was a great gesture on a busy Saturday night.

Every time I go to Trader Joe's in Austin, I feel like a kid in a candy store! As a foodie and…read morebaker, I absolutely LOVE finding fun ingredients, seasonal treats, fresh flowers, and all the little hidden gems throughout the store. The energy is always so welcoming, and the employees are genuinely kind and helpful every single visit. I could honestly spend hours walking every aisle because there's always something new to discover. From unique snacks to frozen meals that actually taste homemade, everything feels thoughtfully picked out and affordable too. Trader Joe's makes grocery shopping feel exciting instead of stressful, and that's rare these days. Austin truly needed a spot like this, and it has become one of my favorite places to shop whenever I'm in the city. Signed, a very happy foodie named Nikita

We buy certain seasonings and oils only from TJ's as well as cheese and other items. If I list them all, you'll get bored. I absolutely never leave Trader Joe's without fresh flowers for our apartment. It's a TJ ritual that dates back more than a decade for me. Heck, way back in the day (over a decade) when visiting friends in L.A., I would always get flowers for their places from TJ. Anyway, back to the reason you're reading this-you want to know my thoughts on the location and nothing more. So, as I mentioned I don't like the other store for reasons of chaos. This store gets super busy too but parking is much better since there's a decent lot. It's easy to navigate through the store and get to all our favorite things. Service is always typical TJ friendly. Happy and with smiles. Products and shelves are always in stock and filled. Extremely clean store. It's worth the drive out of the city to the 'burbs for this store location.

If you're seated near the opening, the sun comes straight in no matter what. It gets extremely loud--so loud we couldn't hear our waiter explain the menu. Large groups (8-10 people) made it even worse. Add in the heat (on a mild Austin day, no less), and it's just uncomfortable. Service was poor. Our waiter was friendly but clearly overwhelmed with too many tables. We couldn't get his attention when we needed him. Bussers were no help--they dropped items and rushed back inside, ignoring attempts to flag them down. We accidentally ordered two "family-style" salads because no one explained it. That pretty much sums up the service: rushed, unclear, and inattentive. If you need anything--water, utensils, clarification--you have to interrupt them mid-drop-off or you won't get it. The prices don't match the experience. Food was decent, but portions and sides were disappointing. We got four tortillas for four people and couldn't get more. My steak had a great sauce but nothing to eat it with--no rice, no beans, nothing. For the price, that's ridiculous. Parking is also a hassle. Very little self-parking, and valet is pushed hard. The most frustrating part? As we left, there was plenty of staff standing around inside. Meanwhile, the patio--where service actually needed help--was understaffed and chaotic. Bottom line: overpriced, loud, hot, and poorly managed. Sit inside if you go, or skip it altogether, again the prices don't match the service !
