Walked by and decided to stop since I needed my nails done and it looked like they could fit me in as a walk-in. I got a mani and pedi. Gel on my toes and Russian gel on my fingers. Total (cash) was $147, on a card would have been $154. Both technicians were great. The massage aspect was very nice, feet, hands, and shoulders. The only feedback I have (like many others) is I wish they didn't just use the shaver to get the existing polish off. It definitely hurt. I also had a crack on my thumbnail and asked for them to cover it with acrylic and she just used superglue, so that was a little disappointing. The finished nails were done well enough though. I got a regular manicure, it was pretty standard but there was about a 20 minute wait. I asked if they had time for a manicure and they said yes, I wish they had just been upfront about the wait. They were apologetic after the fact. The manicure didn't feel rushed which was appreciated. It was $18 for a regular manicure which is a bit steep in my opinion. Additionally, my gel manicure was a bit too thick and her manicure was patchy and rough. The polish was not smooth. My pedicure is decent on the polish, however the experience of it did not live up to price points I usually pay elsewhere. The vibe of this place is decently quiet, they have comfortable chairs, docks for your phone, and there are specific chairs with fans for your hands to dry. Went to this place due to convenience as it is close to where I live. I've gone in the past and noticed the meritocracy, but it's fair for the price. But this is probably the worst manicure I've ever had -- I got the common combo of funny bunny and bubble bath for a gel manicure. I got this manicure on a Tuesday and noticed right away it was bubbly and honestly a bit sloppy around the edges but let it go because I'm really not that picky when it comes to nails. However, it was peeling by Sunday hanging on by a thread and chipped by Tuesday. My gel usually lasts me upwards of 3 or 4 weeks so this is unacceptable. I used to like this nail salon and go weekly because of its proximity to my children's school. This week the nail technician cut the skin around my toe so badly that it ended up getting infected. I had to go to the doctor to get antibiotics and possibly go back to get it drained. I got a mani pedi Friday and by Friday night my toe was throbbing. This was NOT the first time they have cut me while trimming cuticles. Now that I think of it the nail technician (i hardly ever see the same person) usually cuts me just about every time. Otherwise they do a nice job doing my nails but I'm going to steer clear for a while or if I have no other choice I'll tell them not to cut my cuticles. In comparison to other salons in the area, the prices are right. Saying I am disappointed and dissatisfied is an understatement. I came on the recommendation of a friend. I requested a pedicure and a sns powder dip ombre. I was quoted $65 for sns powder dip. My pedicure technician said she did not know how to do sns powder dip so she switched seats with my friend's technician who confidently claimed "I know how to do." This SECOND technician was not attentive. When she started applying the base coat, I knew something was wrong. Instead of applying evenly, she just slapped the polish on my nails like it was glue. There were moments when applying the first powder dip, she would look around to talk to other technicians and not look at my nails when painting. It became obvious she did not know what she was doing. I believe Yenny who is the main technician or manager came to even demonstrate for her on one of my nails how to gently tap the powder onto the edges for an ombre effect. The technician just threw clumps of powder on my nail. The fan was on and when there was a light breeze, the powder kept flying off the two brushes she was using. Eventually, she became frustrated and gave up. She didn't even say one word to me and got up after calling for another technician. She also kept knocking the two brushes off the jars, which fell on the floor. I did not realize until afterwards that she used the same two brushes on my nails. Very unsanitary. Now, the FOURTH technician came and tried to finish what the third started. She did not know how to do sns either and was struggling. She claimed it is difficult to do ombre effect on short nails, but I disagree. I have gotten sns ombre done at other nail salons without an issue. She ended up cutting my cuticles and I was left bleeding on two fingers. After 1.5 hours of 4 technicians, I was expected to pay 4 people tip in addition to the $105 for my regular pedi and sns powder dip ombre, which is not even ombre. It looks like a regular gel mani. I don't know how the total came out to $105 even if there was an additional $8 quick dry charge. It was an unreasonable amount to charge and very questionable. $65+8 quickdry=$73 for not what I asked for. Btw, this "sns ombre" cost is without extentions. So then, 24+8quickdry=$32 for a regular pedicure?? Please look at the photos and ask yourselves if that's what you would pay that much money for. Before I left, the friend who referred me called Yenny to complain as the situation was just ridiculous. Yenny apologized to me saying she is the only tech who specializes in sns powder dip and acknowledged the other girls did a bad job. She said I did not have to tip for additional 2 people. I still paid for the service, which was not what I asked for, but given that I have family members who work as nail techs and know what a labor intensive job it is, I did not make a fiasco about it, but this was not right. I am really appalled that Yenny would even allow the techs to do a service they do not know how to do. I felt like I was a guinea pig for a training session. How I was treated is inexcusable for a first time client. No client should be treated like this. I paid for premium service only to find out they don't know what they're doing and they thought they can get away with it. I have never experienced such dishonesty from a nail salon. I had high expectations for this place and this was my first manicure since getting engaged in May. I feel like I've been robbed. I would NEVER recommend anyone to get their nails done here. P.S. the nail technician who did my pedicure and ended up doing my friend's nails told her there would be an additional charge of $15 to paint another layer. This was the technician's response when it was asked of her to paint the spots that she missed on the nails. After I wrote my review, I read other reviews here where the business owner Suki refutes the accuracy and authenticity of client reviews. Especially the ones saying clients were told something can be done only to find out the technicians are inexperienced and straight up lying like what happened to me. Came in for a regular manicure/pedicure which is usually $35. They took me right away even though I was a walk in, but I noticed a lot of women coming in after me with appointments having to wait their turn. The nail tech Rita tried very hard to up-sell services to me for example $4 extra for Zoya nail polish. Since when is Zoya an add-on?? Instead of the basic mani/pedi why don't I add on the "signature" pedicure? she said. I told her "No, keep it basic." Halfway through the pedicure I noticed she was giving me the "signature" pedi even though I said no I want to do the $35 basic mani/pedi... but I just thought maybe there was miscommunication because of language difference and just let it slide bc she had done most of it anyways. But then she just kept trying to make me pay more for different add-ons and I got so annoyed. Been here a couple of times and am officially done. Came today with an appointment for a pedi and still had to wait 20 minutes. Once I was taken, the nail technician was in such a hurry that she made my toe bleed while filing (imagine how aggressive that filing was!!). She was about to continue with the pedicure and I had to stop her to end the pedicure because that is unhygienic and dangerous -- I couldn't believe she planned to continue given how filthy that is. The woman who owns this salon has owned many in the neighborhood that I've patronized for years -- around 5-6 years ago I wrote her a positive review, but as she has opened more salons, the level of service has gone SO downhill -- no respect for the customer, and such careless service to the point of being a health hazard. And if you get her as your technician, be prepared for someone who will be on the phone and leaving you the whole time, making it take a lot longer -- really bad service. I don't love writing bad reviews, but this place is pretty terrible. I had high hopes for Dream Nails because of the good yelp reviews, and there always seems to be a decent amount of people there. However, (*spoiler alert!*) my hopes and dreams of flawless nails for 2+ weeks were viciously crushed. I went to Dream Nails last Wednesday night for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The pedicure was good, and the woman took her time with it. That's where the only two stars of this review were earned. The gel manicure was no good. While the woman did take her time, she only used one dip of top coat for the whole hand (pretty sure none made it on the last fingers) and was inconsistent about having me put my nails under the light (one hand would get 10 seconds (way too short), the other would get a minute and half). I thought "no way these hold up". Hate to say it, but I was right. It's Monday, barely 5 days later, and as you can see in the picture, the polish on almost all of my nails is chipping to varying degrees - one nail is almost completely bare. ugh. Now, instead of people thinking "damn those nails are fresh!", they're thinking "this girl is a mess, can't even keep her nails clean". And on top of that, they charged me more ($58) than the other girls around me for the same thing. There was no price list in sight, so I'm not sure if they just make it up as they go? I needed my winter-dry feet sandal-ready for the upcoming spring climes, and dropped into Dream Nail Spa on a random Saturday morning. I was attended to right away, and mentioned I wanted a callous removal treatment. The lady who attended to me didn't seem terribly attentive - she was constantly looking left and right and making small talk with her colleagues, to which I understood every word because I know Mandarin. She ended up doing a fine job, and I felt like even the rough patches of skin on the tops of my toes were attended to. I did have a callus between my toes that I feel like she could have worked more on but perhaps I'm expecting a level of conscientiousness unfounded with manicurists. I ended up surprising her at the end of the session by speaking in Mandarin. Anyway, the place is clean and bright with lots of natural light and fairly relaxing. I'd come here again, but would make sure to highlight any callused spots I want to be taken care of. read more

They have a plastics bag for the pedicure chair which decreases the chance of getting fungus. Even the foot scrubber is disposable and 1 customer per use. For $30, a manicure and pedicure is a great deal. I think this is deal is from 10am to 5pm only. I even think the products they use are very good. However, the reason why I'm giving 3 stars and not 5 stars is because of the technique. I have been doing my nails for 17 years and have seen it all. Lisa, who is my tech, does NOT know how to shape nails. They were completely uneven. Truth is I filed my nails again after she did. I think there is a communication issue because I asked for square but I don't think she understood me, which is fine. I just think they should maybe have a translator. However, nail techs usually ask: 1) do you want to cut the nails shorter? 2) what shape would you like? My nail tech didn't ask at all. I'll come back but maybe try another technician. read more

I was in desperate need of a fill with gel polish. This salon was right arount the corner I was staying so I thought I'd give it a shot. The job itself was done beautifully however after only two days, every single one of my nails were horribly chipped. With it being fashion week I needed my nails to be perfection so I want back and showed the presumed owner or manager. Instead of taking off their obviously low quality polish and letting choose another brand, they sloppily filled in where the chips were. No lie, not more than 10 minutes later and three were chipped again. Now I'm four days out and yet again my niails are chipped to hell. With tips and everything, this was a complete waste of nearly $100. Stay away! Side note, I completely love and embrace NYC's diversity. Was drawn to this place for the gel manicure price of $30.50 which is definitely the cheapest in the area. Made an appointment 30 min prior for two gel manis and two normal pedis and had no problem. Throughout our time there they were taking plenty of walk ins as well since they had about 6 or 7 people working at once. Overall price for the gel mani + pedi was $51 which was pretty unbeatable.
