Not only was I immediately greeted by the owner Mike, but he took time to explain the menu thoroughly so I could pick something he knew I would enjoy. I have been in the coffee industry for years, so when I find a shop that carefully crafts house-made syrups and food items, it is a win! The baristas, Allie, Lex, and Ruby were all very kind and a few of them even stopped to say hi to my dog. This is the best cafe in the whole universe, and that's an understatement. I enjoy their selection of beans and variety of different flavors. I typically get an americano, cappuccino, or matcha latte. It's also pretty cool, they have a artsy vibe going on. The staff is really awesome, especially Riley, the twins, and Lex. We just recently moved to Oceanside from Long Beach and it's been tough to find a location around here that has good matcha, but dreamwave has the best matcha I've ever had. The owner is so nice and told us the whole menu and the coolest part is the fact that they make their own syrups so the coconut vanilla matcha was SO good like omg. Allie did an amazing job making it. We also got the Horchata Latte and it was also so good and they roast their own beans so the flavor profile is just amazing, so thank you to Rubi for making that so good. would love to preface this review that i have been working in the speciality coffee industry and hospitality industry for the last ten years. i hold a lot of space for shops all along the wide range of quality and the coffee grading scale. however our visit here this morning was a pretty huge let down. we came in and met with a wafting smell of burnt food and a turbo chef that either needs a deep clean or lacks ventilation. one of the best parts of a coffee shop is the incredible natural aroma of coffee, but this was a very unpleasant welcoming. the barista at pos was friendly but it took us a few minutes to order due to him making food for other orders. we ordered a range of items to really get a good impression of the shop; a shot of espresso, a pour over, and a sweet iced latte. we ordered all items for here and our iced lattes came out very quickly and i was surprised it wasn't served with the espresso but didn't think much of it. i saw them making our pour over when i picked up the latte. 15 minutes goes by and we don't have our pour over, we checked in after another 5 and they had to completely restart our pour over and that took another 15 minutes to come out, and then it was served to go and we still didn't have our espresso. we stayed for a total of 55 minutes after ordering and never received our espresso. on our way out i waited in line to ask for a refund on the spro, after the person on pos said out loud that we did not get it a voice on espresso says "it's literally down here. it's been sitting on the bar" my partner and i looked at each other and then the person on pos and said "no worries we don't want it anymore" and we left. when a guest has to remind you of two beverages you should absolutely at the very least make sure they hear you when you call our the remake but truly, you should be running it out to them. couldn't tell you much about their espresso considering we didn't get to try it, but the drip coffee was over extracted and not good. the latter just tasted like low quality cinnamon and zero honey. overall, the cafe felt super run down and not a place i would ever want to hangout at. read more

This is a cool new spot with a 90s vibe and hip decor. It is located in the same place where coffee bean used to be. The service is great and the baristas are excellent. It has a small menu for coffee and food but, the quality is great. Coming across Dreamwave was such a nice surprise on this Sunday afternoon. We just moved to the area, were unpacking, and needed some extra caffeine to power thru the day. Found it randomly off google map and LOVED it! (Given we are somewhat picky coffee drinkers. The taste of the espresso and the texture of the milk matter a lot.) My husband ordered a 12oz hot latte, which is our routine drink. I felt a bit adventurous and ordered a coconut vanilla latte as recommended by the sweet cashier. Both drinks aced the taste. The medium roast coffee carries a balanced flavor. The milk was properly steamed. Smooth and silky texture just at the right temperature. (Hot, but not too hot that you can't even drink.) Also My latte has a nice toasty coconut flavor. Just mildly sweet which was great cuz it didn't overpower the coffee. Was told they do specialized coffee and make syrups from scratch.
