    Tasty lemonade options

Amazingly, it's taken me this long to check out Drift Benicia on 1st Street... I think because my brain still thinks of that spot as the old Java Point cafe heh. But it's definitely worth checking out, very tasty pizza and drinks.... pizza comes in 3 square sections, on a focaccia-like bread. Nice setting, tasty food, and great staff!

I really enjoy the matcha lemonade. It is so refreshing. I was told that they use a ceremonial matcha tea and brews it in-house.

I got together with my friend for caffeine and a walk. We decided to walk up and down 1st Street and see what called to us. Both of us wanted a drink so we drifted into Drift. What a delightful cafe! The cafe is small and cute inside. There are a few seating areas plus a kids' area. Outside is where we sat where there are several tables, it's dog friendly as well. You order at the counter where the menu is posted. They also have a pastry case on display and fun local food items such as eggs and spreads. The service by the staff was all kinds and quick! I got the Matcha Milk Tea with Soy Milk. It's supposed to be lavender and vanilla but honestly, I didn't taste much lavender. It tasted like a more milky latte, with weaker matcha. It was decent! My friend enjoyed her coffee. I do like how they ask if your drinks are for here or to-go, since we got our drinks in cute glasses. I wasn't hungry but they also serve other food and drinks which look good! Drift Benicia is a delightful cafe on 1st Street. It's a popular spot and worth a visit if you want caffeine and a small bite. Parking is free and available around the neighborhood.

Dark Mocha and my husbands order (i forgot)

My first visit here, I was surprised by how peaceful this area is--such a hidden gem. The server was friendly and welcoming. They said their coffee is non-acidic, which is true--no stomach irritation. The coffee isn't sweet, and even my husband said it's one of the best he's tried. I enjoy visiting coffee shops, and this is definitely one of the best.

If I'm paying 8.50 for an oat milk latte it should be a latte! I'm over 40 and have been drinking them for a while. The first one had so much foam it was toppling over. Don't "mansplain" what makes it a latte. Try harder. Sorry drift, with so many places to get coffee around here I won't be visiting again. And the attitude from the barista who made it correctly was noticed and not appreciated. This was at 1:20 on Monday 2/2 (in case the owner wants to review) The pic is of the remake. I've never had to ask for foam on a latte lol. I like the little shapes they make

Always an amazing cup of joe and the service will brighten your day!! Can't imagine a more friendly, cozy place right in the heart of my morning walk. I like to order something different every time and every drink has been good. They really changed up the morning scene in downtown! Shout out to Carolyn and Joselyn for always making me smile.

Shaded patio seating with blankets on the chairs

Super cute place! I believe she was the owner who served me was really pleasant. Her young daughter such a cutie came to my table and chatted with me. This place is very dog friendly. Small inside with a few seats with an outdoor patio & the chairs had blankets on them very cozy & welcoming. I ordered an iced toasted marshmallow latte and a rum cake both delicious. Nice to just hang out relax and enjoy your coffee. They do serve wine so I'll be back to relax with a glass of wine! Coco approved

Adding this place to our coffee shop rotation! Staff were super friendly and there were lots of fun flavors to try. We enjoyed an iced toasted marshmallow and iced rose-vanilla latte. Next time we will definitely be trying their ube flavor. Plenty of seating is available indoor or outdoors and drinks are available for there or to go. They also have a cute little kids corner with activities for them to do. We also saw that every Thursday they do $5 wine and pizza! We will definitely be back to try their pizza as well!

This is a cute little cafe on 1st Street. There is plenty of patio seating with blankets and umbrellas! They have a little dog water bowl near the door. I grabbed lunch by myself (and with my dog today). The service was superb! The menu is very easy to read. I appreciate how they have serving size suggestions and sample cups behind the cashier so you know what 12 oz or 16 oz etc looks like! Pastries vary daily. So take a peek to the right of the register to see what they have in stock. This particular day I opted for a 16 oz iced taro milk tea and the lunch sized (1.5 slices) prosciutto and arugula pizza! I was ask if it's to go or for there. I told her I'd be on the patio so she put it as for here and brought for the food/drink out to me! How nice! That's really appreciated since it can be a little difficult going out with a dog and not having a second person to help. I really enjoyed the taste of both items! The drink came out in a glass cup complete with a glass straw. How eco friendly! The pizza came out not too long after on a metal tray with utensils and napkin. You really get the taro flavor in the drink. There may have been sprinkles on the top of the drink too. The pizza was delicious! It was a great blend of cheese, a bit of acidity from the balsamic. They didn't skim on the prosciutto. It was well balanced. It was also a good portion. It was exactly lunch sized. I ate it all and was pleasantly full. For clean up please bus yourself. There are bins and a cart near the door. My total came out to around $30 after tax/tip. It's a little pricy. But the service was great and it's a small business so I think it's justified as a special lunch treat. The food was made to order and fresh/tasty.

Coffee with cream & Café Americano
    Gene B.

Grabbed a Café Americano for her and a coffee with cream for myself. It made a great stop while going on a dog walk. They have plenty of seating outdoors with a mix of shade and sunshine. We've learned they do serve pizza. Perhaps on a future visit.

Pistachio latte is legit! Faccachia toasts are fully with the perfect chew pull. Seating inside and outside. The super nice owners hosts trivia nights.

Every single visit we've had at this place has been such a wonderful experience. The staff & owners truly provide the utmost hospitality--their smile's and energy are oh so welcoming every time! Our 3/6 visit in particular was simply the perfect way to spend our Friday morning. Jocelyn was super friendly and thoughtful in taking our order--she provided such great recommendations that we kept going back to the register to order more. Carolyn made a delicious breakfast sandwich (their focaccia is baked fresh daily!), and Dylan was so kind and made sure everything was kept clean and tidy. The people that come here are always so nice so this place has its own little community of the friendliest customers. Jocelyn made us the BEST cookie butter latte ever (it's not on the menu, but she came up with her own recipe and it was just WOW!). The way she presented it was like I could enjoy "cookies & milk" for dessert & have my coffee with it too--amazing. My daughter also loves the little kiddie corner & Carolyn was so sweet to provide her a little tray so she could play restaurant :) Thank you, Drift!

Oat milk vanilla lavender latte. Prosciutto and arugula pizza.
    Dee S.

Adorable place! I sat outside at a sunny table. Perfect weather. Perfect customer service and perfect food. Vanilla lavender oat latte was delicious. Prosciutto and arugula pizza was delicious on that flaky yummy focaccia bread. The hostess was warm, cheery and very accommodating. She treated each customer as if we were dinning at a restaurant not a coffee shop. No matter your mood this place could cover it w the diverse menu.. including alcohol. One House bakery was closed today which made me search Yelp for a plan B. So glad I did! I will definitely return.

    Cappuccino. Perfect.

From the looks of it, there are many locals who show love to this place because everyone seemed to know everyone which was a nice thing to know. Our waiter was very nice, I forget her name but she was such a nice lady. The food was amazing. You start off with a sliced bread thats warm straight from the oven and is presented to you with a secret homemade sauce that was super delicious. If you love garlic like myself, you will be scraping that sauce till its gone. We got the calamari to start with and share and I think that was the best calamafi I've ever consumed. I usually dont like the firm texture and fishy flavor of some calamari but this was super tender and super flavorful without the fishiness. A really great starter to share. We each got out own dishes and I got the Frutti di Mare. This dish was super flavorful and exactly what I wanted from a seafood pasta. Their mussels were HUGE though so I got kinda turned off from that (just a personal thing). Everything else was amazing and you also get a choice of soup or salad before your main entree which is a great format for eating. My girlfriend got the Pasta Gabriella and it was a VERY large portion. She said it was good but we both agreed there was a very strong bell pepper flavor. If you love bell peppers definitely get this pasta. Overall we had a great experience here and would love to come again!!

My grandparents have some dietary restrictions, but they were very accommodating and helpful when picking something they could eat off the lunch menu. We were first served bread which was warm and delicious with the marinara. We ordered Prosciutto for our appetizer which was very tasty. Can't ever go wrong with this plate. I ordered the chicken pesto with a tomato bisque soup. The soup was delicious! My mom who ordered a salad split it with me because she's never tried that soup and found it super tasty. The chicken pesto was more on the tomato-ey side but yummy nonetheless. The portions were huge so I had to take it to go! Such a cute place to bring your family or a date to!

Just along the main strip of town, this place is busy. We stopped by early morning just a little after they were opened. Even mid week and there was a massive line already forming. They must be good. There's two entrance, first being the main where the front door is. Patio seating available along the sidewalk. And then the back entrance where the majority of the seating is outside. It's like a secret garden with all the trees and plants. Somewhat a treehouse feel as well. They have 2 levels with tables. Beautiful spot sitting there under the tree having a nice cup of joes and a beautiful pastries. Indoor also has some seating along the front and I believe there's a second floor right above the entrance. There's mainly one line for everything. You wait to place your order if you wanted pastries and food. I think you could just order drinks at counter if you're not getting food but don't quote me on that. Everyone was waiting together. Once you reach the top, there's the counter of fresh baked pastries that's made daily. Things do sell out pretty fast. We literally arrived not long after they open and the ham and cheese croissant was already sold out. Besides pastries, there's fresh baked bread. Coffee drinks were pretty good too. After you pick what you want, the cashier is at the end and that's where you pay. There's a counter at the back where drinks are picked up. The whole place has an open kitchen feel where you could actually see all the workers preparing the sweets. In the back kitchen, you could walk by and see the pastries chef preparing and putting together the fresh sweets. It's like you're part of the kitchen. It's a cute place and it does get busy. The locals know about this place so it a hot spot. The holiday makers know which their names is getting out there and making a big splash for them. We've been a few times while in town and each time, alway busy and great. Amazing pastries and good drink. It is on the pricer side but that's pretty much everywhere you go these days.

Unfortunately, the festival did not serve any liquor so we decided head down to the local bar before we enjoy the festival and all the food it had. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a super nice bartender who made some delicious drinks! Back in the day there used to be brunch and a bigger food menu but they have stopped that. The buffet I guess was a waste and a lot of food didn't get eaten. They used to have a make your own Bloody Mary bar, but didn't see that either.
