Gluten free brownie sundae with chocolate sauce on the side
    Jessica H.

My son and I got the gluten free fish and chips. Really good texture. Tasty tartar sauce. We liked the fries and the Portland ketchup too. My daughter got the Thai noodle dish and it was fine. We ended up sharing it bc she was bummed out and I gave her some of my fish and chips. For dessert we got the boccone dolce which is basically pavlova. Really tasty. And my son got the gluten free brownie sundae with the chocolate sauce on the side. I think the chocolate sauce was hersheys syrup so we were happy it was on the side. The brownie was really good though.

Eaten here many times and always good. We stopped in after a long hike in Perpetua. Sat in the garden seating area which is nice and relaxing and lots of light. We had the Lucy Black n Blue Burger and the Zoe burger. Service was a little slow but we got food and it was good. Always worth the stop.

Loved the cozy ambiance with the live music and the bartender and servers were all super upbeat and friendly, but the food left a little bit to be desired. It was okay, but my salmon was cooked really unevenly -- hammered on the outside and almost undercooked on the inside. The sauce and veggies were fine just all of it seemed pretty overpriced. We spent about $75 for 2 entrees and 1 beer. My partners burger was better than my fish for sure -- the beef looked fresh and he had fun toppings like fig jam and Brie. I'd go back, but only because there aren't a ton of options in Yachats!

$28.80 fish and chips (the price includes their 20% automatically added gratuity)
    Tom M.

20% gratuity automatically added. Well, our experience with the service proves that our server didn't care less about the service. Why would she? It's automatically added to our bill. ‍ It began shortly after we were seated. After glancing over the menu for about 5 minutes or less, we were ready to order but our server said in a snarky tone, "I'mmm NOT ready to take your order." We patiently waited for a few more minutes and she returned to finally take our order. The food was above average (a bit more expensive than other establishments) and the restaurant was ocean-trendy enough until we had to pay the bill. Again, our server was nowhere to be found for 5-10 minutes. Maybe she was on break, so we patiently waited. Finally, she emerged from the ocean depths, and I kindly asked for the bill. She passed our table four times until she finally had our bill. Glancing down at the bill it made sense...20% gratuity automatically added. Again, why should someone have to provide great service IF it's a guaranteed exceptional tip. ‍ Save your 20% tip and eat across the street at the fish house.

amazing service, got the food super fast and it was amazing, 10/10 would recommend, also the outdoor seating and the whole vibe of the place is amazing

Charming prep area with all their fresh baked goods right off their cozy (dog friendly) covered patio area. My kids loved the Koi pond.

My family Always stops here at least once for either breakfast or dinner when we are in town. I prefer the dinner menu but they'll make you crab cakes in the morning if you want. It's kid friendly but you'll have a better time leaving them at home and enjoying some quality time with your significant other or a small group of friends. Especially if there's live music that evening.

    Razor Clams and Fries
    Jamie S.

We were seated right away. We waited quite some time before being greeted by our server. She took our orders and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay the bill. We started with the Seafood Chowder and Crab Cakes. The chowder arrived lukewarm at best. There was a very small amount of clams and salmon in it and it was watery. The Crab Cakes were also barely lukewarm. They didn't have much flavor and they didn't taste freshly made. There weren't any chunks or even discernible pieces of crab in the cakes. The food temp was concerning. The razor clams were a real letdown. They were tough and chewy and also not hot. The fries were the only highlight. That doesn't say much. The food def wasn't worth the calories. To top it all off, there is a 20% tip automatically added to the bill. It's in the small print on the menu. The service by our server wasn't anywhere near deserving of it. She took our order and came back to get paid. No "How is everything? Is it to your liking?" or "Can I get you another beverage?" The service wasn't service. It was "I'm getting 20% no matter what so why should I even bother to show up." The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths both literally and figuratively.

Halibut fish and chips, crab melt with seafood chowder 10/10

Amazing, tentative, and informative service. Staff is great and friendly. Food was amazing!

House crepe: good flavor combo, but very light on the salmon (almost non-existent)
    Andrew A.

One of our favorite restaurants on the Oregon Coast. First, the staff is stellar. Today, Dorothy gave quick history, she was so personable. The decor and overall vibe is charming, check out the inviting patio in Summer. The Alaskan Scramble with excellent polenta was delicious (probably the most expensive menu item.) The Drift Inn Crepes with salmon and Manchego cheese was wonderful on taste, but very, very light on salmon. To the point you're asking yourself, "did they forget the salmon? Not sure what all the 1-Stars are about. However, I so agree with the common sentiment against automatic (assumed) 20% gratuity. How about you let the customer decide if they received good service? Maybe some shine has tarnished off the restaurant's luster over the years. Parking can be spotty. Still, it's the place to eat when staying in or nearby Yachats.

Great food. Had the eggs bene' with crab. WOW. And the Marion berry jam. Did I mention the bacon? That's a yes. Very friendly. Yum.

Fantastic food, amazing service, fantastic location, comfy, cozy, just phenomenal! Such a great place in a perfect location! The chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy were the best ive had in the North! Seriously a nice place to relax and have a cocktail and brunch!

I'm noticing you have lots of gluten free options, which is so exciting! Im curious about cross-contamination. Do you fry the gluten foods and the gluten-free foods in the same fryer?

Fryer is not Gf exclusive but will say the only thing that isn't GF that goes into the fryer is the CFS, meaning lots of celiacs disease have not had issues with the fryer food.

How late do they serve breakfast?

We ate breakfast at 10 I believe. I think it's served up to lunchtime around noon. Best to call

The property is beautifully manicured and if you get a free standing apartment "kitchen" suite (like a one bedroom apartment) than most of them have a great view of the property, ocean or both. Also the frogs will sing you a sweet song to sleep if you listen closely. I've never stayed anywhere more charming. Super short walk away to the waves, the beach, and town is just around the bend (also an easy walk). The pool also has a view of the ocean. So cool. Did I mention dog friendly? FYI. If you notice some difference in reviewers experience I believe it's the difference of the units verses the rooms. The rooms are more retro and though they have nice updates, I highly recommend the kitchen units as opposed to the rooms (I've stayed in both). The units are fantastic and worth the tiny bit extra. The rooms have great decks and patios to a lovely beach view but there is an old funk smell that unless you are a smoker is noticeable-- so do yourself a favor and get a kitchen suite. Your wife can thank me later. :) You'll want to plan to book a few extra days because this place is like a warm hug. It's unlike anything out there these days. You can get a clean room almost anywhere but encountering amazing humans on the road is priceless. Thank you Yachats Inn for making my summer to the coast a lovely and wonderfully memorable stay. This is one reason why it is so reasonably priced. If you want fancy, this ain't it. The beds are firm but sleepable. I brought my own comforter and pillows because I'm picky as heck and knew theirs would disappoint me. Because they aren't mine. Plus, I used to be a hotel housekeeper and I know how often hotels/motels wash the comforters and fleece blankets..... hint: not often! You can always ask for a clean set from the front desk though and those will likely be clean. I just bing my own if I can though. They allow pets for a $15 fee at the time I'm writing this and charge you $40 if you sneak any in. Tisk Tisk, don't do that, just pay the $15. Cummon. Bathroom was super clean. Water pressure left something (everything) to be desired. Kitchen 8/10 for cleanliness. Be aware that past guests are the ones who do the dishes mmmk? Definitely wash them yourself before you use them if you have any self respect. TV was a newer one with whatever streaming service on it. I didn't use it. I didn't really use the Wi-Fi either so can't attest to that. Full size fridge and older oven in room 4. Table and 4 chairs. 2 queen beds. Attentive housekeeping. Kind front desk lady selling shein swimsuits, lest you forget yours/want a new & more fashionable one. I would stay here again for the price! Convenient location. When we reached out to Vacasa for help they first asked us to try the breaker box, or relight the water heater but couldn't tell me where either of them were, thereby asking me to wander around and through this motel - peeking in closets and rooms - to find them. When I refused they said they would contact a local person for assistance. No one ever came. No one contacted us. I even reached out to corporate and no one came. No one contacted us. So despite a pretty room and clean linens they get 2 stars because hot water is kind of a necessity in a hotel. Further, they didn't offer a discount for their failure to provide the hot water during our 5 night stay. Other things to know; The images don't show that highway 101 runs between this building and the beach. Nor do they show that the balconies with the rooms are shared and not private. The coffee pot is a Kuerig and they only provide 4 pods. Bring your own. There are two mugs, two metal cups, two glass cups, and a handful of silverware, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. The only place to wash anything is in the bathroom. The view is stunning and you can hear the ocean from your room if you leave the door cracked. I really wish I could have given a better review but the lack of local support for this listing means any problems you have are yours to deal with and frankly, that is not what I am paying for. EDIT: The management company responded after my review and offered a partial refund per day for the lack of the hot water. It was a fair offer and the decent thing to do. So I'm increasing the review to three stars because they did respond and try to make things right.
