I wanted to grab a quick coffee and saw this cafe close by . Its a small coffee shop but has a warm inviting ambiance and was filled with neighborhood folks. There was just one person working but boy was she fast and still spent time chatting and checking up on customers. I decided to work from there for sometime and it was convenient. Charging stations were a little far apart but it worked out fine with a little moving around. The coffee was great but could have had a little less foam. The scone was huge and tasted alright. The café was bustling with people during the entire time I was working there. On one hand, the liveliness was great, but the constant chatter made it hard to concentrate. What can I say? I get easily distracted, lol. There is also a small section where they sell all kinds of Knick knacks from earrings to Mugs to stickers . The place has a spacious and comfortable ambiance with plenty of seating, but the menu presentation could use some clarity, especially if there are multiple signs. As you walk in, you will see the gift shop next to the coffee-counter. The cafe consists of a gift store with skateboard art around - not sure if they were featuring an artist or not. There is parking in the front and the back of the building. It's unfortunate that my chai was too hot to enjoy (which I will have to report back) as I got my drink in a to-go cup. There weren't any sleeves so I grabbed a napkin. My partner enjoyed their latte. The breakfast sandwiches were okay, though more variety beyond sausage would be appreciated. **After looking back at my pictures. They do have bagels, muffins, and oatmeal (according to their menu). And pastries next to the window frame/register. As you can see very overwhelming with stuff. I cannot evaluate the service as they had a new hire in training. Overall, it seems like there's potential, but some improvements could enhance the overall experience for me. -1 couldn't enjoy my drink (my main reason of stopping by) -1 confusing menu / lack of food options/unclear. Over the coffee bar, there is a ladder decorated with pieces of wood, and on the wall, painted skateboards. There is seating inside at several tables or on a small couch. There are also a few tables outside, however, if you choose to sit outside, you will be looking at a parking lot. I ordered a Hot Girl Summer, a cold brew with additional macadamia nut and caramel flavoring and coffee ice cubes. Driftwood has a great variety of syrups, specialty drinks, and a food such as bagels, Bobs Red Mill oatmeal, and breakfast sandwiches. In addition to selling coffee and food, there is a wall with necklaces, earrings, small bags, and coffee mugs. They have a lot of unique coffee flavors and some seasonal specials. The coffee was really good as were the scones. We were there mid Sat morning and it wasn't too busy. Unfortunately the staff wasn't very welcoming and it felt like we were inconveniencing them when asking for things. The ex and I tried to go to a new cofee shop for our monthly coparenting talk near the insane Scholls Ferry/Beaverton Hillsdale/Dogwood Lane/ Oleson intersection from he** , but it was crammed with people, loud, and not for us. Nope. I remembered seeing Driftwood Coffee and we headed over there. It was peaceful, busy but not packed, lovely, and a really good alternative. Go me! Our half sweet triple mochas were good, the lovely barista asked if we wanted to go cups or here cups so we enjoyed our coffee in big ceramic mugs. Happiness. I noted for next time they have coffee ice cubes. I LOVE coffee ice cubes. Food selections include a breakfast sandwich, bagels, pastries, some vegan treats. We ordered an almond croissant and toasted cheese bagel. Both were served on a glass plate and were tasty. It is a cute little space with a variety of seating choices including a comfy couch and chairs. There are all kinds of crafty things to purchase. Right now there are baskets of adorable Christmas ornaments. There was a wall of art from the local elementary school. I loved that the barista knew people's drinks and greeted regulars by name. Hello, I was so excited to try a new local coffee spot with old friends today and when we arrived we loved the energy, atmosphere and one person show. I loved how the person working there was doing everything and I thought we picked the perfect spot. We went on to order coffees and breakfast and sat down at a table. Meanwhile, I had my service animal with me the whole time, we stayed for an hour and upon leaving I was looking to put my dishes away and when I asked the employee they gave me a snarky attitude and then rudely stated "we don't allow dogs here." And I replied with "no worries he's my service animal. Would you like to see his card. " And the employee rolled their eyes at me and walked away. It felt passive aggressive, rude and ridiculous that they waited an hour after taking our money to say what they wanted to say. Basically I will never come back. That is enough to leave a terrible taste in my mouth and it is a horrible way to communicate with others. There isn't even a sign on your establishment that says no dogs. I stopped in here to hang for a bit before my doctor appointment down the street and the first thing I noticed was how many regulars there were. The barista was greeting the majority of people by name and to me that's a good sign as it's obvious this place has returning customers. I got an americano and it was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also serve Petunia's baked goods which are vegan and GF! I didn't opt for one this morning but I'll be back again for sure. Can you say coffee ice cubes? Yes, when I ordered my drink, the barista asked me if I prefer regular ice cubes versus coffee ice cubes. The more coffee the better, so this was a no brainer, but unexpected and pleasant offering. Located near, but not quite in the center of Multnomah Village, this coffee shop is closer to the local elementary and high school in a small parking lot. They have a typical selection of coffee with some pastries as well as a random selection of sundries/craft items. I had an iced vanilla latte with coffee ice cubes. The big benefit here is that when the ice cubes melt, the drink doesn't get that watered down. Nicely made with a good taste. The barista was friendly and answered all our questions about the area as we had never been to the neighborhood before. Ambience is OK. There is a couch at the front that looks out the front window as well as multiple tables along the wall. Could be a good place to study. Definitely a nice spot to stop by to grab a cup of coffee. read more

How lucky am I that this coffee shop is less than a mile from my home, and it's absolutely fantastic! As others have already stated the owner is very sweet, and helpful. Even better, the coffee is some of the best I've ever had, and I have never seen soooo many options! So far I've had the Dirty Chai, The Cin-Ful Mocha (Cinamon mocha), the Salted Carmel, The Hawaii (Coconut and Salted Carmel), and my favorite The Island (Coconut, Garibaldi chocolate, macadamia nut). The coffee, and espresso is local, and there are plenty of dairy free options. They also carry Petunia pastries, which is a fabulous little vegan and gluten free bake shop in downtown Portland. It's fun & mellow & sweet & kind I'm currently sipping a lavender iced tea from a tall mason jar sitting at a table with a book in front of me and it's most relaxing! The owner, Cara/Kara? Is just a doll and her personality is just part of my wonderful time! The walls are adorned with local artists items for sale on one side; including gorgeous turquoise pieces (yep I bought one!), fun burlap sacks on another and of course my favorite, pieces of beautiful driftwood are creatively sprinkled throughout. Driftwood Coffee is a hidden gem and cute neighborhood find! When I came in here on a Friday morning there were friends catching up, people have low key meetings, and usual couples reading the paper. I opted for a "filthy chai" (aka a chai tea latte with two shots of espresso) and it was delicious although VERY coffee tasting, not much chai flavor. I did not order food, however the table next to me was chowing down on some breakfast sandies that looked very yum! They also had plenty of pastry options up front in a case, both vegan and non vegan! The store itself is really cute- a great beachy, artsy, PNW vibe. Exactly what the four corners of 45th & SW Vermont needed, especially for those individuals who work within the area. It's as expected of a typical coffee shop to have the required array of drinks: chai, latte, house drip coffee, etc. But it's the location that draws you back alongside the great service you receive. As dreary and wet as it is currently, the warmth of the shop makes you feel right at home with its comfy couches to sit at and tables for local students (or even those who'd like to travel here) to study at. Normally I absolutely love coming here, and I have been coming here since you first opened. I've always loved all the employees who work there (especially the owner) but ever since you hired that new girl with the partially shaved head, I don't even want to come back. She's super bitchy and rude and has terrible energy. You honestly should have made a better hiring decision. I usually tip everyone a lot, but I don't even want to tip her because she truly brings down my mood even when I'm super nice and friendly. I absolutely love the decor, the hilarious stickers, the local art for sale, and they are spot on with the brands of tea and coffee they carry. However, I have never felt welcomed. The service has always seemed very cold, almost annoyed with me ordering a drink. Honestly, I could maybe get past this if they could aerate the milk. That's the point of a latte! If I just wanted warm milk, then I would just microwave my own. It drives me crazy to pay $6 for a latte, and then hear it not being aerated on the steam wand. read more
