When our server came over, my wife asked if she could turn it down a little, and she was happy to do so. We ordered our drinks--my wife had iced tea and I had an Orange Crush which was very good. I asked about the crab cake prices and was told it was around $45 for the dinner, about $28 for the sandwich, and around $22 for the crab ball appetizer. When our server came back, my wife ordered the shrimp special. I wanted a BLT with a crab cake added, so I asked how much it would be to add one. I was surprised when she told me it would be $40 to add the crab cake, on top of the $17 BLT. At that price, I decided to order the BLT and the crab balls instead. I put two of the crab balls on my sandwich and we ate the other two separately. Overall, the food was good. My wife really enjoyed her grilled shrimp and rice. My BLT had a nice amount of bacon, but it had way too much lettuce and only one small slice of tomato. Once I removed some of the lettuce and added two of the crab balls to the sandwich, it was actually much better. The crab balls were good, but I still have a hard time understanding $40 to add a crab cake to a $17 BLT. I could see paying around $12 for a nice-sized crab cake added to a sandwich, but $40 seems extremely high. The best part of the experience was definitely the location. Sitting outside on the dock, enjoying the water and having dinner was very nice. Afterward, my wife and I walked out on the dock and watched the sunset. That's the kind of setting that makes you want to sit back and stay awhile.

It just has a fun waterfront tavern atmosphere. You're not coming for fine dining, but there is good attention to detail on your food and the portions are fair. I would say the only hit to watch out for is on a nice summer day the parking lot can get pretty crowded. They have great happy hour specials in the off-season to lure folks in here. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.

Best news other. Another employee helped craft the perfect chicken salad sandwich that I had on rosemary sourdough. Their chicken salad had golden grapes or golden raisins in it and it was the perfect touch to the sandwich. The sandwich is large and perfect for sharing. They have hot and cold drinks.
