Ahh the parking here is awful there is no good way to enter. Your option is to turn left into the parking lot that is if you can do it right after a street signal light which is impossible on busy days as cars are always blocking access drive OR you can turn left on the signal light and enter the parking lot via an alley but that is wrong way according to the parking arrows. The parking lot itself has about 10 spots of which 5 are used by the dry cleaning delivery vans. Park along the vans and you are blocking others and the access drive. I have no where to park. Yes I like my dry-cleaning little on the pricey side but worth the organic solvent. I get enough reward stars to keep me coming back. Can we just get more parking. I wonder how does delivery work, how many items do you need to have and how you pay/get reward cards if you get delivery? read more

This place is awesome!! They are always friendly, and do an amazing job! They have been always been able to take out any stain I bring them. I also really like that they use more organic cleaning supplies and not the harsh chemicals that other places use. You can even bring the hangers from your dry cleaners and they will reuse or recycle them!! As an added perk they have a Keurig machine so you can help yourself to some coffee. And they give you stamps on a points card to use towards your later payments. read more

Simple, fast and affordable! Four stars because I have not tried their "drive" aspect of "Drive Cleaning" but I did drop off a few garments for dry clean. Drop off was easy and simple- left my garments there and received a receipt and estimated two-day window for pick up. Received an email alert stating that my items were ready. Pick up was fast but in order to use the YELP deal you have to purchase it on YELP and show the employee your code. That step took the longest. Items were grouped together with a twisty tie and in individual dry cleaning hangers. The skirts (I had two) were placed with these plastic clips onto regular shirt hangers. My total bill was around 15.00 for four items (with the YELP discount). The process was fast, easy and my clothes look good. -Minus one star- they put these tiny labels (presumably to keep track of your items) and actually punch plastic tags onto the tags of your clothing. It's not a big deal but I noticed that there were plastic tag ends on all of my tags (which I had to remove prior to wearing). I would imagine with many cleans the tags of your clothes might develop holes- super minor but nonetheless notable to mention. read more

After my local discount cleaners closed, I was in search of another cleaners in the area. Drive Cleaning is near my home and when I saw the $10 for $20 worth of cleaning offer on their Yelp page, I decided to try them out. I was encouraged by their punch card, attentive service, and I love the fact that they are "green"/environmentally friendly and don't use smelly chemicals to clean your clothes. That said, I dropped off 8 pieces, and two days later when I returned for pick up, I was surprised to learn that after receiving the $20 credit, I still owed $32. Talk about major shock. I was used to my old cleaners pricing of $2.49 per piece. (I am also used to prepaying, so I know how much I'm spending, upfront.) Here, you pay when you pay when you pick up your items. Even Kenny the Cleaner, who I am not a big fan of, charges $2.99 per piece. I realize you get what you pay for, but considering most of my work clothes have to be dry cleaned and I have a large pile every week, I can't justify the huge difference. One dress here was $10. Ouch. Just for cleaning! No alterations, nothing fancy, or special material, nothing. And I didn't even take advantage of their pick up/drop off service. How much more would that be?? Sadly, I will never find out. While they did a great job on the cleaning aspect, they are far too expensive for my needs and frequency. I took five winter coats in and received a ticket that wasn't itemized. No price or list of items, no real information at all. When I asked the guy how much it would be he quoted a price, but when I picked the coats up, it was more than he had quoted me. When I said something to him about it, he gave some explanation about heavy coats versus lightweight ones and the price depends on the length. He did correct the total and gave me the price I was originally quoted, but again when I asked for a list of services with prices, there was nothing posted and they had no printed material. This is a bad business practice. A receipt that doesn't list the items that were dropped off makes it very easy to make mistakes. If they had made a mistake, what proof did I have that I dropped off coats and not something else. Not posting prices makes them seem dishonest. I won't go back. read more

The belt loops are so small, the belt could not even fall out of the coat. Your people removed the belt during cleaning. Also, the belt is the same black material as the coat, how stupid do you have to be to lose it? It matches the coat. Maybe your "HD video" could not differentiate the difference between the belt and the coat. You cannot invite a customer in to resolve a problem and blow them off and then not return their phone call. You did not leave me numerous messages and I dare you to pull your phone records and prove it because you are lying through your teeth! Shame on you! I am a busy man. I run the world. I make things happen. I rule! Just kidding. I am just a lazy guy who likes to feel important. Just kidding about the "feeling important" part. I AM important, dammit! Anyway, I digress. The man and I travel often for work and pleasure. We are in constant need of clean clothes. While we have a washer/ dryer in our place, we do not always have the time/ desire to do laundry or take the clothes to a nearby dry cleaner. Drive Cleaning takes care of our laundry and dry cleaning needs without having to lug our clothes to and from the cleaners. Easy set up, frequent service, good quality of service make DC a great alternative to your local dry cleaner. I just take my clothes in the bag they provide to the pick up area on the 9th floor of my building and leave it there. They pick up and deliver twice a week: Tuesday and Thursday. Convenient to get work clothes ready for the week and party clothes for the weekend. All my clothes have been cleaned well. On a related note, I am Indian. What does that matter here, you say? Well, at the end of the day, I still compare prices. Remember, my people are pros at bargaining. The first thing I considered when signing up for Drive Cleaning is the cost. Turns out I don't have to pimp myself out to pay for their service. In fact, Drive Cleaning's prices are the same as what I was paying at my local dry cleaner...and that DC includes pick up and delivery. This Indian is super happy! My major pet peeve with dry cleaners is when they lose clothes. We have been using Drive Cleaning for more than a year and they have not lost any of our clothes. That's a great sign of quality. A major bonus point for DC: they are eco-friendly and use "green" products. Everyone wins. An extra star because they do not use harmful chemicals such as PERC - classified as a carcinogen by the EPA. Next time you want to feel important and busy, give Drive Cleaning a call. After Reading Multiple Reviews on Yelp I figured I would ignore the 2 and 1 star deviations and take the plunge despite the astronomical cost. I now regret my decision. 1. I had a beautiful Ike Behar shirt that had a minor stain on the back due to sitting on some cheap chair at a wedding. I assumed that since the thing was pure white and they were experts this would not be a problem. They returned the shirt with a tag that stated that the shirt had a stain. Thanks for pointing out the obvious and still charging me! 2. Pair of pants with a minor tear, they told me they had the ability to "embed" thread so it looks like the same material. When I received the pants it looked like some drunken sweat shop employee ran them under the sewing machine for 5 minutes. 3. They didn't return one of my jackets, I called to inquire and they asked me the brand and stated, " oh yeah we have it here, I'm glad you called " They told me that they'd show up a week later. What Gives? They only pick up once and deliver once a week, they charge an astronomical amount for a mediocre cleaning and I'm often concerned that my items wont make it back in the same condition - or make it back at all. I'd recommend you do more research when you select a delivery dry-cleaner. Update: Mike, the manager / owner? rushed my jacket over in an extremely timely fashion after my original yelp posting. I had a heart-to-heart with him and told him for the price he charges he has to bring the "A game" . Since this conversation everything has been returned well pressed, and nicely packaged. They do everything right except the most important part...cleaning the clothes! Incredibly convenient service... 1 simple phone call to set up your account (provide address, billing, starch/cleaning preferences) all you do after that is just call for pickup (my 'hood is Wed. and Sat.) and the 3 day turnaround is usually a "rush" job with most other cleaners so, overall, i was super excited about these guys: Now for the actual "cleaning"....or lack thereof: let's start with starch... i ask for Medium (which, in my definition and experience with past dry cleaners means: noticably crisp and does not resemble a shirt that was just washed/dried at home).... and after 3 seperate loads of clothes cleaned by Drive Cleaning, i can honestly say that my shirts come back looking like there is no starch on them at all.... my local cleaners'(plural) "light" starch is stronger. Now for the real kicker.... their cleaning (f you want to call it that) is horrible. I have sent numerous shirts and suits that were lightly soiled (one small dirt spot from bumping the outside of a car or something similar). And i have yet to get any of those shirts back with the spot removed. In fact, 1 shirt came back with the spot partially removed and the sign "sorry, we tried our best, but couldn't clean your shirt"... OMG.... let me tell you that i've never had a shirt that my dry cleaner couldn't handle (even pasta sauce that was washed and dried into a white shirt came out with my local dry cleaner).... but this was ketsup on a blue shirt (degree of difficulty of 2/5 IMO).... and now the shirt appears ruined... not to mention a coupel other shirts that have come back with what look to be permanent chemical stains in them from the cleaning process. From now on, i'll wash, dry, and press them myself OR get my lazy ass off the couch and to the local cleaners. stay away from these guys, the convenience is super enticing, but they never learned how to actually clean clothes... read more

AGAIN...If you value your clothing do NOT waste your time, your money, or risk the condition of your clothes here. Once again... ZERO STARS. He also claims that other dry cleaners permanently ruin clothing by adding UPC stickers, but hopefully all those others actually ASKED their customers first. He has never addressed the issue of what his responsibility is if the glue he put on my suit doesn't come off. Most likely he will never address it. As he told me yesterday, ruining my suit isn't his problem. Once again, I urge EVERYONE in Skokie to please PLEASE don't use this cleaners. While the workers at this location are very kind, I think that the owner ought to post their prices. This was one of the most expensive dry cleaning spots that I have ever utilized, and I nearly fell over when my bill was $158 at pick up. Comforter cleaning cost half the cost of a new comforter. Once you get the ball rolling, Drive Cleaning offers excellent service. We schedule them online to come, they come to us on Mondays and Thursdays. We put the bags outside our door (they take the service elevator up), and voila it's gone and replaced with our last trip's clean dry cleaning. The cutoff for scheduling is pretty generous, we have done it right before going to bed and they're there at 8:30 am the next morning. This week we forgot and called them morning of and they still were able to make us (that may have been dumb luck, but still they made it happen). We have in unit laundry but sometimes having your laundry done for you can't be beat. It returns perfectly folded like it's in a clothing store, I just can't fold like that. Their dry cleaning service has been good for us. They have recently upgraded their bags to use reusable garment bags instead of returning dry cleaning wrapped in 20 bags of plastic, which is nice. They can "auto fix" small problems (whatever $ threshhold you set, 'anything that costs less than $10 to fix') if buttons fall off or what not. They have really nice canvas bags for the laundry which fit in our hamper nicely. Their prices are reasonable--the same prices our "in person" dry cleaner uses. read more

I was a loyal Greener Cleaner customer for years until they got bought out by Drive Cleaning. I thought this would be great - same cleaning but now right to my door! Not exactly. The good: It's pretty tough to deny the convenience of setting a bag of dirty clothes outside your door and then three days later they return clean. No thoughts about scheduling time to get to the dry cleaners . . . no schlepping clothes around the city. From this perspective I really like the service. In terms of cleaning, I would say they get it right about 50% of the time and that fifty percent is pretty good overall. The bad: Setting up the account was a nightmare. I went to one of their locations and the person there couldn't authorize the account so I had to speak with someone on the phone; left my clothes and a key to our building's front door. Two days later I get a call saying there was a mixup and they need to figure out what clothes are mine at their facility. First billing month rolls around and they call looking for my credit card information that I gave them the first day I signed up. Remember the part about clothes coming back clean and in good shape 50% of the time? Well the other fifty percent is that the collars on my dress shirts are pressed unevenly every so often; sometimes an arm as well. The ugly: For some reason the driver never left a hook for the door (so our cleaning bag could be left on it). This means my clean clothes would always be laying on the floor of our building. I got my hook eventually (at no cost) but only by visiting their retail location in Skokie. The woman who I live with who is related to me by marriage had a brand new sweater ruined (looks like they somehow put holes/burned it in two different places). The really ugly: I left a comment with my contact information on their website. No reply. That's BS. I'm still using them right now, but I'm on the hunt for another cleaner. read more

Drive Cleaning is so convenient and efficient! I called them the day before, and they were able to schedule for a pick up the next day. The lady who answered the phone was extremely nice and funny. They even called you the morning they pick up to confirm everything. When I had a billing issue, I called Mike and he resolved the problem immediately. My biggest pet peeve is when companies are inefficient, and Drive Cleaning definitely exceeded my expectations. I am extremely happy with the service. Don't know what the malfunction was in the service we received from Drive Cleaning. We used them for months and discovered that it just was not worth the (not cheap by the way) price. There were more than a couple of incidents that led to our decision to sever ties with Drive Cleaning. The ruination of my awesome brand new sweater that I got over the holidays, which unfortunately I didn't find out about until I was on vacation! Not fun. Or how about my one fancy black dress that I sent in for cleaning that came back in exactly the same condition ie, residual deodorant marks still apparent? And please, please, please can we PLEASE stop finding other people's clothing with ours? It didn't boost our confidence in the facility at all. After all, if I'm finding other people's clothing, they've got to be finding mine, right? The wash and fold prices are fairly reasonable, but only if you also send five items for dry cleaning otherwise it's thirty cents a pound more expensive. They also don't wash the laundry bags that your clothes are transported in, which doesn't make any sense to me at all. As an additional note, when I cancelled service, I requested information as to how the deposit for the laundry/dry cleaning bags would be returned. No word as of yet as to how this will be accomplished. So disappointed. read more

Convenience is the key here. We live in a single family home not walkable to a dry cleaners so they have a key to our garage. Every Wednesday and Saturday, I leave a bag, they pick it up and drop off the clothes from the previous pickup. I love the consistency. I'm only giving 3 stars because they are expensive. Pants are $1 more than the cleaners 2 miles away and shirts are 75-cents more. But like I said, you're paying for the convenience. The other bad thing is since I'm on the Saturday rotation, the guy usually comes before I get out of bed so I miss the pickup then I'm down to getting clothes once a week. read more

I recommend Greener Cleaner, especially for environmentally friendly cleaning, and for those who work odd hours and can't always get to a cleaners during regular hours. My driver, Jorge, has always been prompt, pleasant, and professional. If I have an issue (an item missing) a quick call solves the problem (it needed specialized cleaning, and will be dropped off over the next round). The best dry cleaning service I've ever received. I had them clean a dozen button down shirts, a suit, a blouse, and four pairs of pants. Everything came back perfectly cleaned - better than new. The shirts were pressed very well and even had collar holders added to keep them in place. Suit Jacket came back with a missing button fixed at no charge. Reasonably priced; especially with a coupon. I have only had one order, with about 7 garments, and I was very pleased. They picked up and dropped off as promised, and the clothes were very well cleaned (dry cleaning). I've read some of the other reviews, so I'll be interested in seeing whether service continues to stay high. But so far, I'm really happy! The Best! I have been using Drive Cleaning for years. The convenience is simply unbeatable and the prices are comparable. There have been times when my items had stains and if they couldn't get them out right away, they would try different techniques and would re-deliver at a later date with no extra charge. Customer service has always been great and the on-line request is simple and easy to use. Monthly, electronic billing is great because you do not have to mess around with arranging payment with the driver. Who wants to plan their day around when the dry cleaners are open and then carry clean clothes across the Windy City, especially in inclement weather? Didn't take advantage of their pickup service, but since I work around it, I just dropped off my shirts and pants for dry cleaning. Its a nice enough place, having the shirts laundered was pretty cheap, and dry cleaning the pants was in line with other cleaners I've used. It helped that Yelp was offering a deal to check out this place. I'll definitely come back here again, mostly just to get my shirts laundered and pressed. They also almost always have a promotion/coupon going, and if you like their FB page they usually have promotions running there too. I don't often do re-writes for reviews. Reason being is that nothing is addressed normally. After all Yelp is for the benefit of the potential customers and it is incumbent upon us "the customer" to provide honest feedback. That said, I come with this new review about the recent events that occurred. After placing my review the owner of Drive Cleaning (Mike) went out of his way to contact me to learn more about my concerns. As previously mentioned you don't often encounter a business that takes pride enough to learn more about the customer's issues. Mike did. Not only did he humbly admit fault in my recent encounters at his store, he informed me that he appreciated the feedback and will continue to look to improve even in the smallest details possible. And for me, it takes guts to do that. Some managers/owners would choose to disregard customer feedback which is after all the life blood of a continuing business. My concerns may not have been as important as other scenarios, but they still mattered enough to Mike to extend a hand of understanding and appreciation. A bit disappointed. Recently moved into the city and was told to try this cleaners by one of the doormen at my buildings front desk. He gave me 3 options and I mistakenly chose Drive Cleaning. I had a total of 8 items. Some were sweaters and some were dress shirts. So my cons are: I had a new Ted Baker Marino wool sweater that I only worn twice come back with a hole in it. The other dress shirt collars came back wrinkly, flattened and they are too starchy/stiff looking. The representative that I spoke to seemed like I was an inconvenience for raising this issue to them and couldn't get me to the manager. The prices almost doubled as well compared to the other places I've used when I was living in the suburbs. Another representative (Laura) gave me a call (not the manager) after letting them know about the hole in the sweater. They said they would need to inspect it. So I had to send it back to them again and wait for them to give me a call the next day after inspecting it. Not sure why a picture of it wouldn't suffice? Two days later I never received a phone call back from the manager or the representative that told me that they will give me a call ASAP the following day. I took the initiative to call them and again the manager seemed to be missing and was told he would be gone for a few days. Not sure what kind of business has a manager that is unreachable or not notified about these issues. Overall, a bit disappointed in the customer service and and the cleaning service in general. I'm still waiting to receive my sweater and a call back in regards to the hole in it. -update, the manager said the brand new sweater had a hole in it because I had termites in my closet that eats away at the wool. Things started off pretty well with these guys. I was able to drop off my dry cleaning and laundry, and they'd come and pick it up, clean it, and then bring it back to me. It saved me a lot of time and hassle as I was getting acclimated to living in the city. But then things started to go bad. My fiance noticed that all her clothes we gave them to wash were shrunk. I thought it wasn't a big deal, as clothes tend to shrink in the wash. But then, socks started disappearing. I'm not 100% positive, but I began to think that some of the clothes I was giving them were disappearing. And then I received someone else's shirt mixed in with my dry cleaning. I started noticing that my shirts that I was giving them to be dry cleaned came back washed out and shrunken. I gave them a thick cotton cowboy style shirt to press/fold. Every other time I have given this shirt to them, they didn't starch it. For some reason, this last time I gave it to them, they decided to starch it so much it was like wearing a cardboard shirt. I gave them a polo that had a small stain on it, and when I got it back from them, it was marked with a little sticker saying that there was nothing they could do about the stain. Ten minutes with one Tide Stick later, and the stain was gone. I don't know if this was laziness or just incompetence. To top it all off, the bills from them were always astronomical. It is a convenient service, and they are very good about picking up/dropping off your clothes. This is the only reason I'm giving them two stars. Unfortunately, the level of quality just is not there. I have noticed a slight improvement and effort on their part in the past few months, but it's just not enough. And did I mention, it's really expensive? EDIT: I will mention that after posting this review, the owner of Drive Cleaning gave me a call, apologized, and tried to set things right. He offered to correct any problems I still might be having for free. I thought this was a very nice gesture, and I applaud him for it. I declined these additional services. He is obviously trying hard to run a good business, and I'm sure with continued effort, it will improve in the future. However, my review still stands how it is. The owner calling me did remind me of one other complaint I had about Drive Cleaning: when I first signed up, I gave them my work number, thinking that if they had a problem, it would be easiest for them to give me a call when I'm at work. However, this turned out to be bad for me (as they would usually attempt pickups before I got into work), so I asked them numerous times to update their records, and call me on my cell phone instead. I'm conflicted with how I feel about Drive Cleaning, or is it Greener Cleaner...? Their website says they are Greener Cleaner, but when you look at their locations under the "Contact" tab, the location that picks up and delivers in Skokie is called "Drive Cleaning"...confusing. Anyway, I am conflicted with how I feel about this establishment because of the following reasons: The Good: -One of the very few Green dry & wet cleaning services in the Chicagoland area, and they deliver. So convenient (when they remember to schedule your pick-up). I've had a curtain panel hemmed nicely, and one down coat that had some staining around the collar come out very clean. I also like that that they remember my request for no creases on pants! The Bad: -As I mentioned in the good, they have missed a pick-up and I've only used them three times. I had a long conversation with Luz about what needed to be done on a coat I was sending over. When pick-up day came, no pick-up was made. However, they did make a special trip out the next day, which I think was a nice gesture. Stars for making a bad situation better. -Of the three orders I've sent them, items have come back with issues that neither my husband or I noticed prior to them going out to DC. In all fairness, all the items were not brand new, but it still raises a red flag for us. We've had: 1. A curtain panel that was hemmed and cleaned by DC come back with what looked like worn areas on the fabric. They weren't holes, but when light shines through the panel you can definitely see these spots where the fabric is more sheer. This panel is something I look at everyday walking down my stairway, and I never notice this prior to it being cleaned with DC. 2. A mens jacket was sent out to be cleaned and loose buttons reinforced. On all three of my pick-ups I've added two duplicate notes as to what needs to be done with my order. I attach one note to an item of clothing, and put one in the pocket of the black bag provided by DC, and I also mention my requests when I call to schedule the pick-up. Well, the mens coat I sent came back without the buttons being reinforced, which made me wonder if the coat was even cleaned. Really no way to prove that as the coat didn't have visible stains (it's dark brown) or any smells to it prior to it going out. I called to tell them that the buttons were not fixed, and they told me to leave the coat out for the next pick-up, and they would fix them at no charge. Again, I think this was a nice gesture to make a not so great situation better, but I'd rather not have issues like this the first time I use their service. 3. A mens wool blend dress coat was sent to DC to be cleaned and de-pilled. When we got the coat back the pilling was still there, and bonus, a button was broken in half and the lining of one pocket was open at the seam. My husband takes better care of his clothing than I do mine, and neither of us noticed a broken button on the coat before it went out. As for the pocket lining, I think my husband would have noticed a hole on the seam as this is the pocket he keeps his keys in. However, in fairness, since he does keep his keys in that pocket, perhaps in cleaning an already loose seem came open? Whether the issues are new or old, why wouldn't they A. Notice these issues, at the very least a broken button AND B. call to ask if they could fix it? I remember when setting up my account they asked if I would like item repairs automatically made, and I asked that they please call me first if they find something. Sending back a coat with new issues like a broken button, torn pocket seam, and the pilling that I asked them to remove still present, makes me wonder if the coat was cleaned. Could the button have been broken in the delivery? I considered calling to tell them about the condition of the coat, but we were afraid to have them do anything more to it, even repair what we were sure was not there prior to pick-up for fear of having other issues arise. I sewed on a new button myself, and will be looking for a tailor to fix the pocket as there is no way to get to the backside of the seam w/o removing the coat lining. NOT something I want DC attempting. Based on the three situations I mentioned, it seems more times than not I've received back an item with a new issue(s) it didn't appear to have prior to going into DC. Having not completed requests like fixing buttons, or overlooking broken buttons and not calling me about this, makes me question if all the items I send out are being cleaned. I think Drive Cleaning needs to revisit their quality control. While the pick-up/drop off delivery service is convenient, I'm not sure it's worth putting clothing at risk of being damaged just for the sake of cleaning green. read more

They do a fantastic job. I've had a few things come back damaged but they always fixed everything up good as new. Their policy on 24hr turnaround is a bit misleading, make sure you get the details ahead of time. And they are really expensive. But my shirts come back perfect 99% of the time, and the creases in my pants are so sharp I can cut glass with them. read more

dry cleaning + free pick-up and delivery = Drive Clean - woo hoo!!! yeah they're a bit pricier, but it's worth it for the convenience factor alone, not to mention i don't have a car so how else am i going to get my dry cleaning taken care of? it's so easy too! you can sign up for the weekly plan or the "on call" plan (which i do cuz i don't have stuff every week). put your clothes in the Drive Clean bag (which they take a deposit for), leave the bag at the door and then magically a few days later - poof! - your clothes are back all nice and clean. =) read more

I really was pretty happy with these people until they WASHED AND DRIED multiple pieces of my clothing that were dry clean only. You have to sort it carefully bc they will take no extra time to figure out what's what. read more
