Collars came back with deep wrinkles. The driver was always a problem, calling anywhere between two and ten minutes before he arrived, and leaving within two minutes of arriving if I hadn't made it downstairs to the lobby in time. I was willing to put up with minor inconveniences, until they began destroying shirts. The first time one came back with a stain I could have sworn wasn't there before, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I sent the shirt back, with a special note about the stain. It came back no better. Meanwhile, another shirt that I sent in stainless, came back with six or seven very noticeable, dark red spots on the front. I called in, and was assured that both shirts would be taken care of. They came back just as bad. I called again, and was asked to repeat the process. They came back just as bad. I called a third time, and spoke to Mike, the manager, who assured me he would personally inspect the cleaning. He even called me to tell me he was looking at the shirts and they were near perfect. They came back almost as bad, except now with every button slightly chipped. When I called Mike again, asking for some kind of compensation given the three failures to remove stains they had put in, Mike attempted to calmly explain that the states were surely my fault. I may have stained the shirt with a clear substance, which their detergent then rendered a bright, visible color. When I answered that in my experience laundering clothes, I'd never made a shirt dirtier by using detergent, he responded that that was because I used inferior detergent. He then told me that to obtain a refund, I would have to produce the original sales receipts for my shirts. I use Davis Imperial Cleaners now, and can't recommend them enough. The shirts come back pristine, the driver always waits. It costs a little more, but I'll let you know when it adds up to the two two-hundred dollar shirts Drive Cleaning ruined. read more

A++ Amazing! I needed a last minute linens cleaner for my event (that was happening in 48 hours) and not only did they pull through, but they did it in less than 24 hours. When I called and explained my situation, the man on the other end was nice, professional and really went above and beyond. It was my first time using them and I am so so happy I found them and now have an account. Then, when the driver dropped my linens off the following morning, he offered to help me bring them upstairs despite the fact I was running late for work and had him wait 5 min for me. Disgusting!!!! I had a few comforters that would not fit in my washer, so I called Drive Cleaning to see if they would pick them up. No problem, they said. Fast forward 3 days later. They return COVERED IN HAIR! It was probably the grossest thing I have ever seen. Never did I think I would send something to a dry cleaners and have it come back dirtier than it started. To top it off, I call to complain and the lady on the phone says she didn't think they cleaned comforters. Great. NEVER AGAIN! Very reliable and responsive. I love that the cost saves you money over the long run, and that the detergents and use of the reusable garment bag are safer for the environment. I haven't yet made any requests for repairs or needed repairs, which they said they would fix automatically (and charge) if they noticed a missing button or an unraveled hem, for instance. Your service is excellent. Now that we are on the regular schedule it is seamless. The wash and press is very nice and I appreciate the type of hangers and the "green" bag they are returned in. Always disliked all of the plastic bags that came with other cleaners. the was and fold is great but the folding is not as neat as I would expect and there was some disorder in the stacking (e.g. there were dishtowels in the stack of cloth napkins). I don't dry clean many garments anymore since I wear mostly cotton. But still dry clean silk and wool. The Greener Cleaner is the best! All my items have been returned in perfect condition. I even got bold enough to have my 70" silk curtains done, and was charged a reasonable price. I love the convenience of pick up and delivery. They always call if they have any questions about a garment, or if they need extra time to clean an item that has leather trim. This is the only dry cleaning service I will use in Chicago. read more

LAST AND FINAL EDIT: Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars. I did a blind test by submitting a pair of men's pants with grease stains to my local dry cleaning store and Drive Cleaning. My local store was easily the winner and the clothes came back perfectly clean as expected. Drive Cleaning simply cannot get it right in the first time and their cleaning solvents are below average. Their customer service is great and they will fix it on the second attempt but it should NOT take 2 attempts to get stains removed. EDIT: My rating has been upgraded from 1 to 4 based on recent events. I love the great customer service and the convenience of this company....previously I rated them only 1 star because my clothes always came back with stains no matter how hard they tried. I am pleased to say that the recent upgrade to their facilities and to the dry cleaning process has been a HUGE improvement. This is very nice to see because they touted this as a genuine change & I can vouch that it is not just lip service. The clothes came back much cleaner. In my experience there is still some room for improvement but the nice part is if you ever have any issues they will take care of you until you are 100% satisfied. They did good job on the dry-cleaning. I wasn't a big fan of being charged for the bag, I know it's a deposit and all, but I wasn't given an option to decline it, and I wouldn't have requested. In addition, one of my shirts has a build-in belt. They charged me for a "dress", not a shirt (it would only be a dress if I wanted everyone to get a great idea of what my butt looks like), and charged me additional money for cleaning the belt (and by the belt, I mean a simple piece of same fabric). Greener Cleaners on Broadway is the best. I've dropped off between 20-25 items at a time (sweaters, pants, blazers) and even had my UGGs cleaned. They are always thorough, the clothes don't smell from nasty chemicals, and they are fast (usually 2-3 day turnaround time). I've also had pants hemmed there. A little bit higher-priced than your "average" dry cleaners, but you get what you pay for. I also bought the eco-friendly dry cleaning bag, which makes drop off/pick-up a snap since I can literally just run in to the store, drop it off, and know my clothes will be taken care of. owner mike bleier at drive cleaning is a liar and a jackhole. i was happy with the service years and years ago when they started in my building, but recently had the WORST experience with them. they come on mon, tues, thurs and fri, and return clothes on thurs, fri, mon and tues, respectively. well, they failed to show on tues to pick up clothes, which i needed back by fri to wear for 2 big weekend events. when i called to complain, they gave no reason other than to say "the driver should've come that day." i requested they give me next-day service when they were scheduled to return on thurs, to which they agreed. otherwise, i would have taken them to another cleaner to ensure i would have them for the weekend. i further requested that if they didn't return my clothes fri, they give me a discount, to which they also agreed. i just wanted to ensure i'd have my clothes for the weekend. well, they picked my clothes up on thurs (they don't come on wed), but did not bring them back on fri. no call to tell me my clothes weren't coming, no email, no apology. when my clothes came back on monday, not only was there no discount, but i noticed i was charged as much as $6.39 for some button-down suit shirts. i found this to be ludicrous because i typically pay $2.89, and used to pay $1.25 when i started with them. when i called to complain about everything, mike the owner told me there was nothing he could do. his quote: "we are expanding, and sometimes it's hard to maintain the same level of service we used to provide." yes, he actually said those words. i was confused and angry, so i ended the call, but continued the conversation via email. i told him i wasn't going to pay the full price, so he threatened to send my account to collections. his quote: "Ok cool. I hope that you feel it is worth the trouble I'm about to put you through for $43.90. Collections fee is $35. Late fees will begin on 12/1/15 and go on indefinitely until the balance is paid in full. Have fun!" what a prick, right? he also told me he didn't want my service anymore, and canceled my account. i guess that is how they handle errors and broken promises now. i've told several people in my building, who have also expressed concerns over their lack of professionalism and delivering on promises they've made. and some of them have also canceled their accounts. i discourage anyone from using this service. ever. read more

We've probably used their service three times. The first and second times-- we tested their quality on various clothing pieces, and passed our picky standards. Drive Cleaning really got it down to a science, where their employees automatically know and suggest the best services to give per clothing pieces--which saved me a lot of money. The day I went to drop off all of our dry cleaning (about 20 pieces), I decided to sign up for their pickup and delivery. At that time, the store manager was thoroughly training their staff--who are all pretty smiley and sweet. I missed answering the phone on the delivery date. When I spoke to the driver next, he offered to drop it off the next morning. Luckily, I live pretty close to them--so I'm not sure if that would be ideal for everyone. I started taking clothes here about 8 months ago. Black mercerized cotton shirts, cheap black pants for work, and expensive dress/sport shirts ($175+). Things seemed fine for about 6 months, no complaints. Pricing is more than a regular cleaners, $5 per item Dry Cleaned where other good dry cleaners are about $4 that I've been to, but they're "Green" right? My clothing had always come back clean and in good shape. I never do regular when dropping off laundry meaning I ALWAYS dry clean. The staff said they can note that on my account so I don't have to ask anymore, great! Last time I made my pickup I see one of the shirts had NOT been dry cleaned but put through normal laundry... Really?! On the SAME receipt it says in BIG BOLD TYPE DRY CLEAN ONLY!!!!! And to top it off every item is now $6!! Seriously?! I never use their pickup or delivery so now it seems I am paying for everyone else's driving. Time to look elsewhere... too bad as they are close to my office... read more

I'm not sure what the item by item price was but given that I brought in three suits and a bunch of blouses, I'd say they are very fairly priced. They did exactly what they're supposed to do.. my clothes came out clean and pressed. i hate doing laundry. there are a million things i rather be doing than laundry. I love drive cleaning. I love that my clothes come back folded and just need to be put away. if they had a service to put away the clothes, i would be getting that as well. I have used Drive Cleaning for three years since moving into a building in the Loop that did not have a reliable, convenient dry cleaners. Drive Cleaning takes great care of my clothes and has terrific customer service. You can schedule your cleaning pick-ups conveniently online, so I am not sure that I have ever actually talked to an employee! If you need a repair or special service all you do is include a form provided on the website and they take care of it. read more
