I have a Noritz tankless heater that is getting old (12 years +). I've used Right Guys Plumbing and Drunk Plumbers (the owner of Drunk Plumbers worked at Right Guys before they went to Sacramento). These plumbers really know tankless water heaters. I had another company out on Saturday, and the lead plumber started drooling when he saw the 12+ year old tank. He got the diagnostics from the remote and then pointed out that I needed monthly descaling, and to do that I would need to cut pipes, get a new unit, and lay out $4000. I told them they get the $110 service fee, and I get a second opinion. Victor and his assistant came out, took the unit apart and cleaned it, and it is working just fine now. He asked me, "Did somebody else look at this?", I said yes. "They trip the GFI so no power, they unplug several connectors also, they leave screws on bottom of unit. I think they play games to trip up bad plumbers. Not very nice." I asked about new plumbing for descaling, and he said, "No, not with this unit. Already too old, and cleaning that way will shorten what life is left." Right Guys and Drunk Plumbers are the same, and operate the same way: they both know exactly what they are doing, and they both work hard to resolve the customers' problems. I highly recommend Victor. My tankless water system shut down for no apparently reason. He returned my call quickly and resolved the problem over the phone. Nonetheless, I asked him to make a house visit to conduct a thorough investigation and service my system. He arranged a time that was convenient for both of us and called prior to arrival. He even insisted on taking off his shoes before entering the house. Rather than promote more expensive repairs, he insisted on conducting only minor and inexpensive maintenance to flush the system and protect the pipes. Really great experience with Victor. He came to service our Noritz tankless water heater that hadn't been touched since it was installed nearly 5 years ago. Cleaned it up and made sure everything was running smoothly - Victor was exceptionally professional, courteous, and efficient while at our house. He also found something that hadn't been properly installed when the unit was originally put in place, and he rectified that (added a drainage hose). Victor called us back quickly and asked, via phone call, for us to run a series of tests together on our Noritz tankless that had stopped running hot water. He wanted to make sure he didn't come a waste our time & money with a $175 service call. He was informed and well versed in the product and quickly ascertained that this would be a something he can likely fix with one visit. The previous day I had a more established and well reviewed local player (also on yelp) send their tankless specialist come by to take a look. They came by, spent 10 minutes looking at our tankless, and then offered us three options to fix it - $1800 for a rebuild, or $6000 or 12000 (the latter with a softener) for a new tankless + installation! Victor at Drunk Plumbers instead cleaned out the unit, replaced the igniter (which the control panel indicated could be the problem) and did the entire job for $200 even. Reminder, get multiple quotes. Find someone like Victor who is honest, experienced, and not looking to make a quick buck cause they think everyone with a house in LA can afford to pay up. Victor is now on our go to list and definitely highly recommended by us. read more

Victor came and serviced my tankless water heater. The first time he came, (over a year ago) he had to replace parts and he worked with me with insurance to cover the damaged parts. He could've told me the whole unit needed replacing but instead, he took his time and replaced and fixed what was needed. Though he descaled it then, because the unit needed parts replaced, he didn't charge me for it. So it was a no brainer to call him back to descale my tankless water heater. By the way, the plumber from the insurance wanted to charge $240 for descaling the unit and claimed he was the cheapest around town. Victor charged me $175 for the very same thing. I have 3 Navean tankless water heaters. I called Drunk Plumbers to do the annual maintenance of flushing the systems. Victor gave me a fair quote and set up a date and time when he could be here.
