Visited Dry 85 for dinner recently and was a bit disappointed. PROS: Service was great. Leann was very attentive to our table and provided exceptional service. Kimchi Brussel Sprouts we're amazing! Between the service and the brussel sprouts, that's where we should have ended. Drinks were tasty also, but expensive compared to other similar restaurant options. CONS: the food generally. The Ossobucco was cooked perfectly, but lacked seasoning. It was drowning in some kind of sauce, but all i could taste were the crisp apples that were on top. The apples were good, but worth the cost of the pork shank. The Au Gratin potatoes had a sour taste to them that ruined the meal. Shrimp was over cooked and Grits were "extra gritty"; perhaps they are "stone-ground" for benefit of the doubt but did not taste good and was not advertised that way. Really unfortunate meal; was looking forward to this place and it fell short. With many other options in OC, keep it moving. read more

I am writing this review as I'm sitting at the table because I can't stop smiling about the food I just had. My husband had pork ossobuco and I had the chicken and waffles; both wonderful dishes in their own way. My husband pointed out that you could still taste the food because it was not over-spiced or over-seasoned. Our waitress was quick and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxing. I visited Dry 85 with a group of friends for some drinks mid August around 9pm and waited on some benches for an hour or so and were seated around 10. There seemed to be a large group of people on both sides of their patio for some sort of political gathering and they were very loud, rowdy, and many other customers seemed hesitant to be seated near them. For drinks I got the Empress which was sweet and fruity, and I got the street corn tots to munch on. The tater tots themselves were fine, but it was advertised as street corn tots so when I received my tots nearly naked I was pretty underwhelmed. All of our food was underseasoned and bland and service was slow. Maybe we were unlucky that night with that large group outside but it was not the most enjoyable experience. read more

A wonderful meal, great ambiance, a fantastic server and food that is not just delicious but artfully presented. Known for its mixed drinks and an unbelievable selection of bourbons, Dry 85 also set the mood for a great dining experience. Starting with a sidecar and a full hoppy IPA, we ordered Steak salad and the Dry 85 burger. My dietary restrictions required some modifications but our expert server Christina skillfully made the needed changes. Yay! I'm a fan. That best describes this place to me. Such a fantastic place a few blocks from where we stay. We debated whether we should come here just for drinks or if we should grab a meal here. Diving right in, we went for the entire meal. Cocktails were ordered first and they did not disappoint. The best cocktail bar in Ocean City, Maryland? Prove me wrong... Seriously someone, try to find a better drink. This reminded me of all of the "speakeasys" we enjoy back home. I started with the peanuts and cracker jack. Peanut butter bourbon with some cracker jacks on a skewer. Absolutely perfect. This place used large ice too, so it doesn't water down the drink. See note above about best cocktail bar in Ocean City... My wife went with the Kanaloa. Some fruity cocktail that they lit in fire in front of us... Yes... Fire... I love this place... We split the lavender fields of Kentucky as our final cocktail with bourbon, vanilla, and some ginger. So great! I had to order the chicken and waffles and my wife ordered ribs with a blueberry sauce. I'm not a fan of roasted ribs, but these ribs worked with the sauce. Incredibly well. The waffles for me also had some brown butter sauce on them and a coffee maple syrup. Everything was good enough on it's own, but worked so well together. I thought my chicken was a little dry and it had the right color, but just tasted a bit off... Not bad, but not the crunch I was looking for. What a great place!! The worst part about this experience was that I was missing the love of my life. We usually go to places like this and I know he would've loved this. (He will be mad I said that?) I thought the place was super cute and decorated and fresh. I thought the drink menu was very impressive. I thought the food options were super unique and priced pretty well. For us to sit a group of 9 took about 10 minutes and its right across from Seacrets so it was convenient for us to try and go there. We took an Uber so we didn't have to park. The tables were a little close together. Our waitress was really nice. She was a dark haired, shorter female. I ordered a blueberry drink that was awesome. I ordered the deep fried pickles which were great and then, the scallops were done just right. Just enough. I wasn't too hungry, and my friend and I shared all the things and so when we split the bill and ended up being pretty full of food, it was nice to not feel over stuffed and overpaid. Note to management - I didn't want to let one of your staff impact your Yelp averages, so I left this as 5 stars since the food was very good. If I rated on my whole experience, it would be 2 stars. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with house made chips. Both were delicious. I wanted dessert but was not afforded the chance to order anything else due to the waitress' lack of interest. For management, here's feedback on my 2 star dining experience. I won't post the waitress' name publicly. I was there on 8/12/2020 at 5:30pm seated outdoors. That should narrow it down for you. :-) You know what I lovvvvve more than anything? A waitress who ignores me as she chats with a guy friend another table for extended periods of time when she should be checking up on her tables. The guy even said something about him getting out of there quickly to not monopolize her time & table, and she told him it was fine and he should continue to stay. I super love it when my food shows up before my wine because my waitress was socializing for so long, she forgot to bring my drink. When the food runner brought my dinner, I said "I ordered a glass of wine too." and my waitress overheard, ran inside to grab it, sat it down on my table, and ran away. And I love it even more when she brings me the check without asking if I want anything else. (I wanted dessert but that shit ain't happening now... maybe she did me a favor cuz I probably don't need the extra calories ) I totally understand when wait staff are insanely busy - and I don't need super fast service when I see them busting their asses. But don't throw the check at me with a quick "thanks!" and run back to that guy's table to talk about your drunken stupor and expect a decent tip. I have been super HUGE tipping all thru covid because these folks have been unemployed and now have a lower volume of work, but this waitress pushed my patience and last night was the first time I tipped way less than I have in months. read more

The tap list and bottled beer selection left much to be desired, especially considering the volume of outstanding regional breweries. The food left something to be desired overall. As the vegetarian at the table, I ordered the Black Bean Quinoa Burger and a Side Salad. The burger just wasn't that exciting texture and taste wise, and had that canned black bean flavor running through it. The pepper Jack cheese and salsa brought some welcome pops of flavor. Came here on a Tuesday night because many of the other restaurants on the strip are closed on Tuesdays for some reason. Dry 85's menu looked great and it seemed a bit more upscale, so it was perfect for how we were feeling. Waited only about 15 minutes for a table, which was mostly on account of COVID distancing (there's two benches outside where you can wait). They have a great beer and cocktail selection - I had the seasonal Last Word, seasonal Old Fashioned, and the Down By The Watermelon. Service was a little spotty though - one table was complaining about their wait times, and our waiter (who seemed like he was doing his best) was all over the place. A few items weren't available, and he didn't let us know until after we had ordered. I really wanted the filet mignon, but settled for the blueberry ribs. Not actually much settling because it was very good! Upgrade to truffle fries and had cheesy grits. Very filling, but pretty delicious. Also had a taste of the chicken and waffles, which was always a safe bet. All in all, definitely one of the better meals we had in Ocean City! read more

It's Labor Day weekend and my wife and I are here! Unfortunately, so are lots and lots of other people. On our way to find a restaurant, we got quickly frustrated sitting in the OC traffic and catching practically every red light. After not securing any reservations to any of the bayside restaurants we tried, and since we have noted this place the last time we were in town, we decided to stop in. My wife started with the soup of the day (cream of mushroom), and I had my first Natural Light in years. Her entree was the crab cake sandwich with scalloped potatoes ($29) and I had the bleu cheese and fig burger ($19). Wasn't sure if the fig was needed, but glad I tried it. We both enjoyed our first dinner back in OC, and hope to one day return! read more

Absolutely amazing, this spot is one of my favorites. The Seafood Mac N Cheese is an absolute hit! So good oh my god. I also had the seasonal cocktail called "Sage is Just a Number"... not only is the drink super tasty, its a beautiful drink to look at. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. Cant wait to come back here. This is one of my favorite spots in ocean city. read more

This restaurant was very good. I ordered the pork ossobucco which was delicious. My daughter had the grilled cheese which was simple but yummy. We also had dessert and ordered some the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. The cookie was made fresh and was soft and chewy. All the ingredients were fresh so you could taste it in every dish. Our server, Sarah, was friendly, efficient and quick. We definitely will add this to our family's favorite OC spots. read more

I would never come to this place again. It's rare that I give out 1 star review. But this place is bad. Real bad. Extremely over priced too. It's over rated finger food. The apps aren't good. Tasteless. ALL of our main dishes lacked flavor and basic seasonings. And we were a party of 9! The bill will scare the day lights out of you knowing that this is glorified burger joint. We tried this restaurant for lunch the other day when in the OCMD area. Sat in a booth in the bar area and it was relatively slow at lunch time with maybe three other tables. We got the bartenders crush drink which was presented cutely and tasted fresh but more like a margarita than crush drink which was fine as we like both. We also got seafood macaroni and cheese and a fried chicken sandwich. Both were good but not great or anything we would come back for. Kids enjoyed their meals as well. Waitress was nice and so were all other staff. Overall, I would say this was a good lunch but both my husband and I agreed we wouldn't come back considering all the other dining options in the area. read more

I popped by on an cold rainy evening while I was in the area for work. Based on Yelp, this place seemed pretty popular but I was the only person in the restaurant that night. It was a fair assumption that this was the weather's fault; it was an icky night. As I was solo, I sat at the bar. Looking around, the place had a really nice vibe. The bartender was super friendly! I wanted a beer and they had a solid selection which i was thrilled with. After I found one I liked, we had a cool discussion about the local breweries. She also told me that they serve 150 different kinds of bourbon/whiskies here. Not my thing, but if it's your thing, you definitely need to give this place a shot. I was happy with the service; the bartender was very personable and more than willing to answer my questions about the menu. I settled on a salad--was craving something healthy. I got the one with salmon. It also had green tomatoes, blueberries, roasted apple, goat cheese, and a house-made dressing. It's easy to make basic salad but I love when I find a good memorable salad that hits the spot. Salmon was well cooked. Went in initially for a couple of craft cocktails which were very well made. I'm not a bartender but it seems odd that they measure each and every ingredient with precision, makes for a very slow process in generating drinks. The complaints are about the food. Having read other reviews it appears that this is a trend. When you look at the burger menu you might wonder why none of the burgers are plain-ish and each has a host of concoctions on them (caramelized onions, blue cheese, pulled pork, bourbon barbeque sauce, maple coffee sauces, etc). The reason is that they are frozen patties. Yuppers, the 16-18 dollar burger is made from a frozen patty. This is confusing as they are clearly trying to be upscale with the cocktails and decor, why they would resort to a frozen beef patty is a mystery. My dining partner had a fried chicken sandwich and tater tots but was not impressed. As others have said before me, go for the drinks if you aren't in a hurry and go elsewhere for your food. read more

A nice restaurant for either a drink or food. The servers are friendly and they look after you. I recommend the ribs and shrimp and grits. Both were delicious. The ribs were tender and fall off the bone. Only thing was a bit weird was the sesame seeds in the bbq sauce. It was a but much and have it a weird texture. Other then that it was delicious. We were really hoping this restaurant was going to be great, but it just wasn't. We ordered the French onion soup and what came out looked like gray goop. Took one taste and it was worse than it it looked. We sent it back. We got our entrees and they were tasty, but tiny. I left the restaurant hungry. When we went to pay the bill, I was told that since we put our spoons in the soup, we had to pay for it. I immediately asked for the manager. Because the server told me that he would have to pay for our soup. I told him that's utter nonsense. A few minutes later, the server came out, said the manager was too busy to speak to me, after I asked for them. They just took the small charge for the soup off. It was the principal. Regardless, this restaurant gets 2 stars. One more than I would've given if they didn't have such a fine assortment of bourbon. Though, we won't return. read more

Came here with a party of 36...yup 36!!! They were beyond accommodating as I called places for our softball families could dine on one of our last nights. They gave us the whole back room and once I arrived they moved the tables to accommodate what we wanted. They allowed us to do separate checks by family which was AMAZING! The waiters worked their butts off taking orders, bringing drinks, bringing food, and keeping our drinks going! Throughout the evening the manager came over several times to make sure we were taken care of. The menu wasn't huge but the items on it were delicious. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was beyond delicious with the truffle fries. The orange crush was yummy as was the seasonal martini and a peach bourbon drink. The charcuterie board was good as we chose the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella cheese and chorizo. People had the the seafood mac and cheese and they raved about it. The filet was also a hit. View can't be helped - decor is modern and fresh but high ceiling makes it feel a little gymnasium like. Huge cocktail list and more whiskey options than I knew existed! We chose some interesting cocktails to start - gin based and well crafted - followed by the fig and blue cheese burger and a crab cake sandwich. Everything was top notch - casual but well executed. Both the fires and the salad side options were great! Nice crispy fries with rosemary and Parmesan. The salad is a mix of greens with light dressing. Service was pleasant and competent. My friend and I each had a very wonderful burger. Perfectly prepared with excellent accompaniments! Mine was the blue cheese and fabulous fig jam and hers had the pulled pork and other tasty items! This seemed like a good spot. Their hours said they closed at 12:00, and my friends and I showed up at 10:45 on a Saturday night. The hostess said it was last call and they may not be able to seat us, so we had to leave and go to another bar. I gave this place two stars because the bench outside was comfortable, other than that I recommend this place about as much as a porta potty at a music festival. Maybe even a bit less than that, because at least porta potties are open when they say they are. FIrst... the only really negative thing I saw in the reviews were about service. I want to be super clear- we had spectacular service. My sister owns two restaurants so I feel like I hold a high bar when it comes to service and from the hostess who seated us to the support servers, our service was stellar. Big shout out to our main sever Reece "like the peanut butter cup," who was personable, warm, knowledgeable and made on point recommendations. So now that we have cleared that up... the food! Brussels were amazing. Tasty and generous portion. My guys had ribs and ossobuco. I guess it's a thing if you eat meat, both raved about it falling off the bone. The scalloped potatoes and French fries also a hit. A little dash more of salt on the fries and they would have been a 10/10. I had the salmon salad. Salmon was cooked perfectly, salad was a nice mix of flavors and textures. No room for dessert because I had not one but Two drinks. The bourbon lavender drink I had was nothing short of magical and dangerous. I would have had a third but that would have been crossing a line.
