I really do love coming to Dry Dock for lunch or dinner, as they have more than just seafood to offer. I will be honest, we are in love with the salt and pepper catfish. And if you don't try their loaded potato bites, you're missing out. I do enjoy their baked spaghetti as well. The littles love the popcorn shrimp, and the serving size is enough for two kids to split. I love that they serve hush puppies as soon as you get there, which works wonders for my ravenous littles. The service is always good, and we always know someone inside the restaurant. The inside is a mixture of booths and tables. The bathrooms are at the front of the restaurant, which serves as a nice reminder to my family before heading to the car. We eat here once a month and don't have any complaints. read more

On our way home from Raleigh it was getting supper time and the grandkids was getting hungry also.I knew Dry Dock was there but had never eaten there.I was a little concerned at a very full parking lot.But we realized there was a Mexican restaurant right beside so they both where busy.We where seat as soon as we walked in the door.Dry Dock was a bit larger then we expected.Our waitress sit a plate down with some really good hush puppies when getting our drink order.The grandkids jumped on those hot rings of goodness dipping them in the Small containers of butter on the table.My son and I did to. Much to our surprise a gentleman came out from the kitchen and started setting our food on the table.Both the grandkids got a child's shrimp plate with fries.My son got a shrimp and catfish combo with fries.I chose the shrimp and oysters combo with fries. Our food was good and hot and plenty.My son really liked his catfish.Our waitress was very attentive as to never let our tea and water glass go empty.We had a very good experience.We will have to keep Dry Dock Seafood on our list of places to eat. read more

The vibe and food of Dry Dock were right on! My mom and I went to celebrate a family reunion. The staff were super friendly and warming and just made us feel right at home. They had us in the main conference/wvent room that had plenty of space for us that number about 30 or so. The waitress quickly brought out their amazing hush puppies that were shaped like union rings. They were popping hot and I decided to get their flounder filet with a side of broccoli. The portion sizes are overwhelmingly large. I double checked with the waitress to make sure I got the regular versus the large. She ensured me that I got the regular and that the portions are just large. Wow! Super large, like Texas sized large. The food was good as well with everything being super fresh. The one disappointment was the broccoli that was overcooked. It was such a surprise as others broccoli was cooked super well. I think because of how busy the restaurant was everything could not be evenly cooked. I would come back for more of their food, especially the coleslaw and hush puppies. Be prepared to take home food or share entrees. It is a lot to take in, but so worth it for these prices! read more

This is a wonderful local seafood place with generous portions at good prices. The friendly, helpful service by hard-working locals is exceptional. It was almost like I stepped back to a nostalgic, long ago time. It definitely pays to venture off the NC freeways to experience some delicious small-town fare and down home atmosphere. I had a large serving of catfish filets off the senior menu. It came with delicious, made-from-scratch hush puppies right out of the fryer, sweet cole slaw, a baked potato, and ice tea, all for under $15. And the server even asked me if I wanted a to-go cup for my tea. I often ask for that, but no one has ever offered! I forgot to take a picture, but I will provide one next time!!! read more

I had been visiting Dry Dock on and off since before 1999. So I was excited to plan to pick up something for dinner about 2 weeks ago. I ordered take-out and drove straight home which is less than 3 miles away from the restaurant. I had not returned to my car until the next morning and was shocked to find my car smelled like fish. I mean a strong awful smell. The grease used to cook the food must have been terribly old or used way too much. It's been roughly two weeks later and after cleaning and vacuuming my car still has the faint smell of fish. Needless to say I won't be ordering take out anymore from Dry Dock!!!!! Sad to say after nearly 30 years of visiting this restaurant, tonight will be our last. While the service is good and friendly the food has fallen short too many times lately. Cold popcorn shrimp or overcooked fish. Tonight was the final straw. The last several times we've been there (we go several times a month) the manager has out right 'shunned' us. He goes from table to table speaking with patrons, but never ours. Tonight he visited the table behind us and next to us. He even made eye contact with me once. However, when he finished with table next to us he walked away and continued talking with others. My husband and I spent our first date there. Tonight will be our last. Shameful! Homophobic behavior! We will stick with restaurants more excepting. What's really the kicker is we travel 20 miles each way to visit Dry Dock. Not anymore! read more

Local seafood restaurant here in Siler City. It's local hot spot on Friday night and Sunday for lunch. Lots of seafood options on the menu. They also offer other items for those who don't care for seafood. They have both broiled and fried chicken as well as spaghetti and ribs and hamburger steak. There is something here for everyone. They serve hush puppies to the table while you wait on your food. They also have a to-go section for those who prefer to dine at home. Very large dining room as well as a party room for large crowds. It's just your typical fried seafood place. I ordered the shrimp lovers and one of the options was boiled shrimp, which can be served hot or cold. I asked for hot, it was lukewarm, meaning they heated it up from the fridge. My fried shrimp was good but not great. It was cooked properly, not chewy. My fries were the typical frozen crinkle cut. Boring. They cater to families and the retirement community. If you're in Siler City this is probably one of the better places to eat, if that tells you anything. If you're traveling, just keep going to Sanford, Chapel Hill or Raleigh. There are better places to eat. read more

Ordered the fried shrimp, oysters and scallops. The oysters were pretty good although had alittle funny taste to them, same with the shrimp. She just put her head down and made no effort to investigate for us. Get home and wife calls back. Turns out they had order all along. Daughter and I didn't go back. Check your food before you eat it. We drove 45 minutes to go to dry dock. Order shrimp and flounder started eating and there was a hair on one of the shrimp. I told the waitress who bought another plate but I couldn't eat it because I lost my appetite. The waitress didn't seem to care that there was a hair in the food and neither did the woman at the front when I went to pay she ask how was everything I told her there was a hair in my food she just said sorry. Dark, stale restaurant. Food is bland and uneventful. Hubby ordered salmon and it was frozen in the middle, yes frozen.
