Wow! So glad I stopped here. Rave reviews from other yelpers so I'll add mine. Stopped on a Monday afternoon for lunch while in the area. Restaurant was larger than I expected so I decided to dine in. Very clean, mellow jazz playing over the speakers; great ambiance. I didn't get a pic of the menu as many others have already done that. Chose the small meal (glad I did as it was plenty!): 2 pieces of cod, a side of slaw, 3 hush puppies, and a side. The cod was beautifully golden brown and very tender and flaky. The Cole slaw crunchy with a nice hint of sweetness. The hush puppies were decent, nothing remarkable or note worthy. Certainly could step up the flavor a bit on those (maybe a little jalapeno?). I pass this place all the time and decided to stop by for dinner. They have a good amount of seating but it seems to be more of a takeout spot so it was a pretty quiet dinner spot. The place overall seemed clean and bright but there were a couple tables that looked like needed to be wiped off. Everything on the menu looked pretty good. I decided to give the catfish nuggets a try with a side of Mac and cheese and collard greens. The nuggets were a lot better than I was expecting. The fish was so flaky and the breading was the perfect about of crispiness. The collard greens were cooked well but were a little bland. Wish it also included a protein or something in it. The mac and cheese tasted a lot better than it looked. It was wasn't great but it was kind of what you'd expect of a fast casual spot. I really liked all the lemonade flavors they had. Husband and I had a craving for something fried. This was the closest spot to where we were at. Inside is full of Detroit signage. My husband being from Detroit thought it was very interesting the inside was very clean nice simple set up. I ordered catfish nuggets while my husband ordered fillets I got jalapeños poppers and my husband got French fries. We sat down and they brought the food to us. I thought we would be picking it up at the counter so that was a nice surprise. Our sides came switched on our platters but that wasn't a big deal. We each ordered larges and they were a lot of food we took half home. The hushpuppies were cooked well and the coleslaw had a nice flavor. The cod was light and flaky, the fries could have been cooked a little longer, and the onion rings were ok, but the Mac and cheese was great! Today I called while walking through Food Lion, hoping to order and have it ready to pick up quickly. I called and when someone finally picked up they put me on hold and never came back. I purposefully kept the line active to see if they'd come back or to show them when I got to the restaurant. The guy just said "well I just took someone's order" which meant the phone was working. Would highly recommend the catfish. I think the portion of coleslaw was a little small considering the amount of catfish there was. Pick 2 is the way for me to go, I eat lot after an intense workout I decided I wanted some seafood, not ideal after workout but moderation is key. I ordered picked two comes with fries and drink. I got fried corn on the cob and added coleslaw with shrimp and whitening. The fish was fried crispy and flavorful the shrimp as well, it's almost like they used a different seasonings or breading. This is a compact, primarily takeout spot (though there is some inside seating) with a similarity compact menu - Fried Seafood (fish, shrimp & oysters), Chicken (including wings & tenders - but go for the legs and thighs), country cooking sides (including Fried Corn and Mac & Cheese), and a couple of dessert choice. On this visit I chose the Fried Cod with Fried Corn (on the cob). The order was ready in just under 15 minutes, and couldn't have been more on point. The 2 nice sized pieces of Cod were nicely battered (not to heavy), and perfectly fried, flaky under the batter, as it should be. Yummy fried fish and chips! Fresh, hot whiting with hot sauce! Pieces are huge and cooked perfectly. Our meals each came with coleslaw automatically and we ordered the macaroni and cheese and french fries for our sides. They were good. My only complaint is that the sauces are not homemade. 10/10 experience! Tucked away in a strip mall of Market St sits Captains Table which is a little seafood spot that started in Detroit. It was immaculately clean and had refreshing white and blue decor. Everything was really well done and the service was great! The Captains Table was easy to find with lots of parking available. Upon enter the first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was! And the second was that it was a bit warm inside. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and with Mac n cheese which was out of this world. It was full of flavor and so delicious! The chicken sandwich was a great choice. I ordered the catfish sandwich combo as my perk, but also ordered a side of hushpuppies and banana pudding! I got sweet tea for my drink (always a Cali girl but the southern sweet tea is my addiction). They also have three different lemonades. Regular, blue raspberry, & strawberry lemonade. Of course they have your typical coke products as well. The gentleman out front who helped me was very welcoming. He greeted everyone that came in with a smile. Also he said the food would take 15-20 minutes, which I didn't mind at all! If the service is on point & the place is clean, I would never mind a wait. Plus with food this good, it's worth it. The food came out hot and fresh! Yes! So delicious. The gentleman working brought it out and provided me with tarter sauce, ketchup, and hot sauce (he asked which one I'd like, I wanted all three). COD DAMN! This was a good lunch. I love me some fried seafood. Something about that flaky fish inside a well done batter with some cocktail sauce just does it for me when I am being indecisive about what to eat. This place got it right, and I was happy with the value I got on a small fish basket. Left me full, flavor was great, and I would absolutely come back for more. To be specific, I went with the cod small basket combo. The small gets you two big chunks of well battered fish. I chose okra for the side. They were great! Golden and delicious. Next time I'll go for the fried corn everyone is talking about. The basket also came with hushpuppies and some slaw. Slaw was good, hushpuppies could use a little work as they were still a bit on the gritty side. Probably just need a little more kitchen experience. Finally, the place was CLEAN as it could be, which is what you want to see when someone is handling seafood. I was able to try this place via a Yelp event and I quickly came back for a second trip and brought someone with me. The food is excellent. The coating on the fish is a nice savory spice that gives it a unique taste. I ordered the small cod basket with okra. My order was wrong and i got fries (like my friend). I liked the seasoning on the fries. It wasn't spicy but definitely has a sweet and salty flavor but it wasn't overpowering. They were good but I really wanted the okra that I ordered. We went on a Sunday and the store hours were 12-10pm. Nobody was there until 12:10 but there were other cars waiting so we chose to wait as well. We ordered our meal to go and the banana pudding was missing that we paid for. I guess it was partially our fault for not checking the bag but disappointing that we were looking forward to that. We were 20 minutes away so we just let it go. The 3 stars is because of the late opening, missing okra and the missing banana pudding we paid for. The menu also listed strawberry shortcake but they didn't have that either. I will give them another chance but won't go near opening time. read more

The dining area was tidy and they offered a decent selection of beverages. The guy at the front counter was friendly and efficient. That being said the fish and shrimp were top notch!!! We ate here for the first time this evening. This was a Friday evening about 6:00pm. The store was modest, but very clean. Not packed, but steady with a few diners and carryouts. We appreciated the Detroit motif as we are Detroit natives. Menu is straight forward, complete and not overdone. Orders are placed at the counter, drinks are self serve. Staff was friendly, polite, and efficient. Food was ready and brought it to our table in probably 8-10 minutes. I had the large, beer batter dipped cod with coleslaw. The fish was amazing. The best fish I've had in years. 4 large fillets, crisp batter, moist and hot, not overly breaded. Coleslaw and hush puppies were good. My wife had the small Catfish, 2 good size pieces, hush puppies and coleslaw, as well. Again the corn meal breading was not overdone. Her food was hot too. I try the sm coleslaw it's sour wtf they trying to kill me . Now I see why they gave me a large slaw. The large slaw was ok I was scare to eat it tho. I was craving fried fish and this place really hit the spot. The ladies that worked the front counter were friendly, helpful and had great customer service. We dined in and had a 4 piece tender with sweet chili sauce, a large (5pc) flounder basket, a 2pc flounder & jumbo shrimp combo with a small side of fried okra. Any meat can be ordered solo or you can add a side and drink for $3. Everything was great, the chicken tenders had really good crunch and flavor. There are a number of sauces that you can choose to have the tenders tossed in or served on the side. The flounder hit the spot!! Crunchy, hot, seasoned and I loved every bit of it! The jumbo shrimp are just that, breaded, meaty and crunchy. I had to get a side of okra as the combos only come with fries but worth it! The fries were okay but truly the least of my worries. Before I finished, I was already planning on coming back! They have fountain drinks but also lemonade, strawberry lemonade and BLUE RASPBERRY lemonade!
