Had an apartment that was affected with mold. Robert and Angel noted that the tenants clutter and cleanliness were leading factors to the cause of the mold. Despite the conditions, Angel and his crew went above and beyond to not only address the mold but also cleaned old dirt of handles, switches, door jambs, to insure a pass. Had Dry Down handle a pipe burst clean up & intial complaint of water damage / moldy musty smells. After telling me the job was done, with continuous musty wet sour odors, I went back into the crawlspace to find soaking wet dirt - they came back a 2nd time, did the same lazy process, of throwing abosrbant and cat litter around , some fans (instead of removing water & wet dirt) 1-2 months later I found PLANT GROWTH and FUNGUS GROWTH after being told "I'm shacked up, open some windows..." or "Snow melt is leaking in" after 2-3 months of completely dry hot season. The other (unworked on) half of my crawl completely dry.... Two plumbing companies agreed to their negligence of clean up after charging 3.5K for Drying service. Taking legal action in the next 72 hours They are in denial, maybe the project lead is pridefully lying to them about completing the job, corporate office has zero customer service for compensation, believing their negligent employee who needs to be scolded. read more

Angel did an amazing job pumping out over 6,000 gallons of water from under our house! Diego came out very quickly to initially assess the damage and then Angel and his team started pumping the water out just a few hours later. They worked hard from 8pm to 2am! Angel was so kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process! The person that did the consultation of our water damage was very, very polite, however, ALWAYS get a second quote to compare. The red flags were: 1. will not provide written estimate, 2. quote was with no details, 3. no discussion about insurance claims When I got a 2nd quote, I realized Dry Down quoted 50% more than the 2nd company. The 2nd company gave me a quote in writing and it was detailed with pictures of the damages. I'm not saying don't call but be aware that you probably will get quoted up to 50% above fair market value for the same job. read more

I had water damage in my home due to a plumbing issue, Dry Down was contracted by my plumber to repair the water damage. They came to my home to take out the damaged areas and eliminate the mold. After their visit to my home, the following Monday I was alerted by American Express someone had charged over $2,000. Additionally, someone charged another $1,900 on my banking card. They even had provided a picture of my drivers license to the merchants. In contacting both merchants, we quickly determined I was a victim of identity theft. I contacted 3 police deparments as it spanned not only the stealing of my identity in my home but to the merchants in the surrounding areas. One of the merchants was able to capture a picture of the person who stole my identity and it was the son of the owner of this business. Since this occurred I have never received a phone call from the owner to offer any apology. Aside from my identity being stolen and the disruption to my life, it is most disappointing to not have the owner call me, nor call my plumber to own their actions. I am now wondering how many times this has happened to their other customers. read more

They (Robert the estimator) took advantage of our situation and charged us way more than ever should have been considered. There was no written estimate, no detailed scope of work; only a random contract with a dollar amount scrawled on it. We were desperate, as we had water in the crawl space under the house; it "could" have been sewer water, and they took full advantage of us. Turns out it was rainwater, but they still charged an exorbitant rate for 2 hours worth of work. It was $3,800 and they were on-site for 1.75 hours! Robert, our estimator, was unrelenting, making the same-old speech that he'd "talked with his manager" and that was that. I paid the bill, as I was the fool that trusted them, but never again. Dry Down is a parasite in the emergency response industry. Ironically for Dry Down, the crew that came out was top-notch. But $3,800 for 2 hours of work is just untenable. Luckily for me, I was referred to Dry Down to take care of the situation. We had a fractured water heater that caused damage to my garage, bathroom, and hardwood floors. I had a pipe burst while I wasn't home and when I returned my house was completely flooded. I discovered Dry Down on yelp and immediately called them. A actual person answered the phone and within a couple of hours a technician was at my house cutting the drywall and drying the entire home. Dry Down worked with my insurance company which relieved a lot of my stress. Once the house was dry and prepped for the remodeling, I actually used one of the contractors that Dry Down suggested. Great company with a service you hope you never need, but when you do they take care of everything! A class act!

DRY DOWN RESTORATION Do not use this company!!! After using their services I found out that this company has inflated their prices almost 100% for installing a new water heater. On Sept 4th 2017 I had a leaky water heater and contacted them because they had serviced the water heater in the past. They came and gave me an estimate and because of the pressing situation that caused water damage to the interior of my house I agreed to have them install the water heater for $2,600.   After finding out that they overcharged me by approximately $1300, I called Christine at the Ontario office license # to request a breakdown of the services rendered. She responded hesitantly and questioned why I  wanted a breakdown. I am now waiting on Joseph, the contractor that came out to my property, to contact me back.  After All Pro installed the water heater they contacted Dry Down Restoration out of El Segundo license #884975 without notifying me and request they come out to dry up the water and prevent mold. When Dry Down came out they discussed services needed and had me sign several places for an estimate and in signing I unknowingly agreed to a $1562 job ending up being charged for $3400. The owner of Dry Down, David Pages, is now fighting with my home owners insurance because of this unreasonable inflation. In my opinion both of these companies are working together to price gauge the unknowing consumer.      My home owners insurance company, resident mutual insurance, had to come inspect and send their own plumbing contractor to assess damages and that is when it was brought to my attention how much I overcharged. I was informed I am not the only victim of All Pro Plumbing. I am urging that no one use their services in the future because they will overcharge you. read more

Dry Down came out to check on mold in two locations in my home. The tech stated "If you don't have mushrooms growing, then you don't have any mold". I laughed in my mind. Showed them an area and said "there's no mushrooms here but here is some black mold". I gave them a piece of wood with the black mold, sent them on their way and hired another company. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY! I am a former property adjuster for a large insurance carrier and have had the displeasure of working with this company on multiple occasions. They do a decent job drying/cleaning your home, but they'll charge you an exorbitant amount to do so. These types of services are usually performed on an emergency basis, so you're generally at the company's mercy and billed after the work is complete. Use a company like this and you might find yourself in a major pickle later when you finally receive their bill. Insurance companies will only pay for what's reasonable and customary. You may be on the hook for whatever they don't pay. And if you're unable to pay the difference, you're looking at a possible lien on your home. When it comes to water/fire mitigation and/or restoration, stick with one of the bigger name companies like ServPro, ServiceMaster, Belfor, Restoration Management, etc. They'll do the same or better job but won't inflate the bill to a ridiculous amount. If you insist on using this company, require them to provide you with a written estimate IN ADVANCE. If they decline to do so, move on. read more

Downey Plumbing found a leak under my house, the technician told me I had 2 feet of water that had to be extracted before the leak could be repaired. He called Dry Down, the technician arrived within the hour and after going under my house he also told me I had 2 feet of water that had to be removed immediately and must be inspected for mold. The technician quoted my $3,000 to remove the water and dry the dirt. After the technician left I called another plumber, he arrived later that afternoon and fixed the leak for $250, there was no standing water under my house and he fixed the leak in a hour....I believe Dry Down and Downey Plumbing work together to rip off customers and Insurance companies...thankfully I didn't trust these guys and had somebody with some integrity do the work. read more

Word of advise, before you let these guys into your house to do any work, make sure your insurance will cover their services. Get the prices from them in writing and talk to your insurance before hand. Protect yourself from any surprises later on, these guys won't care if you can pay their bill or not, they will put a lien on your house if the bill is not paid within 10 days or so, and their prices are high. I wish I would have known before hand how expensive they are and maybe shopped around a little. They did their job, I don't have anything bad to say about that but I don't believe the job they did justifies a $6k bill. I feel bad for my insurance company, my adjuster was shocked by their prices. read more

My biggest concern when an emergency happens is the risk of having someone come out with their interests ahead of mine. I was so relieved when Dry Down came to assist me after we had a damage caused by our fire sprinklers after a power surge caused a laptop to catch on fire. Lucky for me, the fire sprinklers kicked in. Unfortunately, the fire sprinklers caused three floors of water damage including the kitchen and wood staircase and two primary walls in basement. Dry Down responded punctually after hours and immediately began remediation! Within a few days, they had the house ready for restoration. What really made the difference was their leadership. The owner, David, spent an extensive amount of time calming my shock from this event. He explained to me: - how the process worked - advised me step by step how to return my house back to its original position - reassured me that everything would be okay As I stated at the beginning of this review, I've always had concern and caution about how to handle emergencies. My water heater was leaking water all over my garage and on the adjoining walls in my garage. Our plumber recommended Dry Down and Jose was at my house 30 minutes later. He was able to assess the water damage, take the appropriate pictures that insurance would require and began the drying process. He also walked me through the various steps that would be required to get everything restored. They were also very careful with my belongings, and even laid down protective covering for my garage flooring. These guys worked really hard to get everything dried. My tenant called Dry Down as soon as they noticed a severe water leak in the master closet that was coming from the wall behind the shower. They came that day to assess the situation and their crew came out with fans to quickly dry the area. They quickly removed the moldy drywall, insulation, closet organizer and carpet so that the plumber will have easy access to fix the damage pipes. They were very careful in minimizing the damage so that the construction afterwards would not be so extensive. Jose was the Dry Down representative and he was very informative about what to expect and the next steps for repairs. I had an emergency water cleanup needed recently in my new (to me) home. The plumber who came in the evening recommended these guys. They came to check it out within an hour. Because it was already 10 pm, Arno and team planned on coming back first thing in the morning to begin the cleanup so as not to disturb my neighbors in the middle of the night. Arno and team arrived right on time early the next morning. They provided me with an estimate, which was completely reasonable. They promptly got to work - pulling drywall and flooring panels. They were efficient and Arno (lead tech) was constantly instructing his team and asking for progress updates. As a new homeowner not having experienced such a process, Arno explained the cleanup and was very polite towards me; even reassuring me as I was certainly distaught. All the while barking orders at his team. :) I appreciated his no-nonsense attitude and diligence on the job. Not being familiar with this kind of work, I shared the scene with my sibling over the phone. She does demo and cleanup with Team Rubicon (military volunteers) and she gave big kudos on the work Arno and team completed. They also returned periodically to check status, replace or rearrange machines, and all was completed in the estimated time frame. The quality check guy, Brian, was great also - upbeat on the phone and in person. No one wants to have to go through these emergency water situations, but if you do, I would recommend these guys. I recently had a leaky pipe near my waterheater. Plumber fixed the leak, and recommended I call a service because I had water damage in the water heater cabinet and under the house. "Dry Down" was suggested and I checked them out -- but this was urgent -- I needed to get the water damage fixed ASAP. Arnold from DRY DOWN did an amazing job of scoping out the work and bringing a team to remove damaged wood, and other equipment to dry up the water. The Dry Down team did an excellent job of removing the damaged wood, drying out the rest of the wet wood, removing ruined carpet and linoleum. Emotionally it is hard to have a flooded home. Thankfully Arnold and the DRY DOWN team gave me confidence that everything was going to be all right.
