The ambience was great in that you could see the distillery itself from your table and have your drink at the very place it's created from start to finish. The flatbread with pepperoni cups and honey was the perfect amount of spicy and sweet, while also being a light snack to share! As the first customers to come in, we were greeted immediately by the bartender. I wish I could remember his name! I'm terrible with names! In any event, they can do flights for you here as well as make mixed drinks for you. Everything was going great until a very large crowd of people came in as an unexpected 'Tour'. There was only one guy on the clock on a Saturday! So we didn't stay too much longer after that, as we didn't want to give the bar tender much more work as he needed to take care of a large group of about 13 people. The drinks were very tasty! Dry fly was a huge supporter of the community during the pandemic (spokanitizer ) so we wanted to support local. We went to their new distillery and tasting room to check it out and have a drink. The tasting room is super cool and trendy...lots of seating available. My Moscow mule (requested huckleberry vodka) was disappointing. It tasted super watery and had little flavor. Hubby's old fashioned was solid. They also have food here but we didn't try any. Next time to support this place, I'll buy a bottle and make my own mule! read more

First things first this is a distillery not really a bar so if you are looking for multiple drinks then this is not the place for you. Now that that is out of the way ... this place is fabulous and I really wish it was a true bar because I would love to have more thank 2 drinks (the max) when I go there. They distill their alcohol on-site and if you call ahead of time they might be able to give you a tour (they just need more than one person working at a time to be able to do this so that is why they need a heads up is what I was told). They also have a back room with all their barrels and you can rent it out for events ! They currently have a drink called the " basic witch" which has whiskey and pumpkin it might not sound good but it is amazing and would highly recommend. Every time I have family or friends come to visit from out of town I always make sure to bring them here and everyone so far has fallen in love with Dry Fly. read more

There tasting room is recently redone, there is a nice atmosphere here, and the service was attentive. I tried a sampler of three of their spirits; the Washington Wheat Vodka, very smooth, with hints of caramel and vanilla. In town for business, I saw that this was a short walk away from the hotel, The Davenport, and thought I would give it a try. I had tried the Dry Fly whiskey previously and was impressed. It was early evening, so a light crowd, but service was top notch and attentive. I ordered a flight of a few whiskeys and the Stewed Mussels, your whiskey is vey good but the food is excellent. You guys are knocking it out of the park with your menu all of the dishes that I saw going to other patrons also looked great. Went to their new location downtown on Riverside. We were greeted right away and sat at the bar where we were told about the different whiskeys they made on the premises. We ordered the flight and were pretty impressed. Then we were asked if we wanted a tour of the production facility, which we did and then went back to finish our whiskey. Still a fantastic distillery even that they are the oldest in Washington State!! I had plans all day so I arrived when they opened at 10am. I don't think they were expecting anyone at that time. Anyhow a few years ago standing in line at the liquor store in Tacoma to get a bottle of their whiskey and thankfully they have increased production and now are a little easier to come by. But to be honest I thought their stuff was only alright and I really have not had any Dry Fly in a few years especially with all of the other local whiskey and bourbons that are coming out. But that morning when I was trying a few of my old flavors I was blown away by them. The gentlemen whose waited on us said they had smoothed their booze out a bit and refined the process. It definitely showed because again I was really impressed. I also remember their vodka having a sort of grain taste, but it was completely different than I remembered. The vodka was smooth and almost buttery. I ended up picking up their limited released 101 proof bourbon which I would put against any Washington bourbon to take home. So if you have not tried Dry Fly in a while do yourself a favor and pick some up or better yet head to Spokane and visit them! read more

The folks at Dry Fly certainly know their business. Hands down, Dry Fly has the best vodka I've ever tasted. It's so good, you won't want to sully its flavor with anything else. And as a major bonus, all their ingredients are locally-sourced. If you have time, I recommend stopping by Dry Fly's Spokane headquarters on Trent for a tasting session. I sampled the vodka, gin, and whiskey--all of them stellar, by the way--and spoke at length with Don Poffenroth, one of the two owners. He was awesome and answered all of my questions...of which there were many. Of course, you want to call first to make sure someone's around. The tasting room & storefront are in the same room as the still and barrels, and someone will have to unlock the door to let you in. But don't let that discourage you! You can also find Dry Fly at most WA state liquor stores, along with their gin, whiskey, and recently released bourbon. Bear in mind, the whiskey and especially the new bourbon are not available everywhere...another good reason to stop by Dry Fly. Plus, the smell in there is just plain amazing. read more

There's lots of drinking options and producers in ol' Spokanistan and this is a great place to stock up at the source. I am a HUGE fan of their vodka (tastes like butterscotch and is smoooooth as a baby's bottom) as well as their gin. They also offer whisky and just started doing bourbon. All their ingredients are locally sourced. When we were last there they were offering tours and I'm sad we didn't partake. I couldn't find any reference to tours on the website you will want to call ahead. I do see that they offer consultations to other distillers so that is even cooler. They also offer tastings and there are several food options nearby. I find their prices to be fair for the excellent product they are purveying and obviously you'll likely get a better deal here than elsewhere. Last year they even offered a holiday pack of their bevvies that was discounted. Nothing says Happy Holidays like a discount on alcohol! read more

We did a sampling of three of their whiskeys: Triticale, Port Finish Wheat, and O'Danagher's Hibernian and Caledonian. All were distinct and well described on the menu. Absolutely terrible service 6/5/18. Came in around closing with two friends for a quick drink and left with a "never coming back" experience. Wannabe bartender was obviously annoyed that we came towards closing, nastily declared we would only have 10 minutes to finish our drinks because he was closing in a "hard" 10 min. We said fine and waited. We immediately realized we were being ignored and went to the bar for service. We were met by the annoyed/pissy bartender again where we ordered our drinks and were told that he had to make other drinks first and it was"really going to cut into our 10 minutes". Terrible customer service! We left, never to return. I hope as a business you realize the nobody in the black hat is rude and driving away well paying, regular customers. 0/10 read more

After reading through the reviews, I felt the need to defend this establishment a bit. The distillery is not a "tasting room." They would never turn someone away and always open the door for people to visit. But it's a working distillery. When the staff are there during the day, they are working to produce all of the delicious spirits, and even though they may not always have time to stand around and chat, I've found that they have always been more than accommodating and very friendly. My husband and I have been going there since they opened, and have always have a great experience. If you are nuts enough to wait for those releases, the guys give ya donuts, coffee and have a raffle to give out all sorts of awesome swag. Dry Fly was generous enough to offer a tasting at our event tonight in Portland, I did not visit the distillery. I must say that the Vodka was the best I have had, not the best, but THEE best. When I restock my bar I will restock with Dry Fly Vodka. The Gin was good. I would not say that it was as good as the Vodka, but then again, for me, it's hard to find a gin that doesn't taste like hairspray. My friends raved about this place and boy am I disappointed. They got a star for cute glassware and a star for the cuteness of the place. However, they put ZERO alcohol in your beverage. My husband got a Moscow mule but it was basically water with a dash of lime juice. My friend who also ordered the same drink had the same issue. These folks make great local whiskey, gin, vodka and some other concoctions! If you stop by the distillery, don't expect some crazy macro distillery tourist experience...most likely they are going to be busy making the alcohols. But as the sign on the door says, if they have time they will buzz you in for a looksey, some bottle purchasing, maybe a taste and maybe a tour. I got some awesome small batch wheat/rye hybrid and an aged gin when I was there. Check out their release calendar for the fun/different stuff. We were lucky enough to be on a tour of dry fly and no li last night. The owner don was a great host and not only gave us a look see into his world at dry fly but hes not bad at bartending too! We had a sample of cask strength wheat whiskey and we like it so much we had to get a bottle! I have seen there product in the stores but now that we know the history we wont be so quick to walk by. I wish we had grabed a sample of the vodka but im pretty sure it wont be long before a bottle finds it way home. We were so impressed that everything is localy sourced. Good for you dry fly!
