    Salmon Niçoise salad
    Morgan H.

We were looking for a place to have a quick lunch in the Spokane downtown area. Located on the third floor of Nordstroms, the cafe has a counter to order and then table seating. We grabbed a table and then the server delivered our food. My only complaint was that the items did not come out at the same time. The Salmon Nicoise was excellent with a large piece of flaky salmon with a fresh pesto spread, sliced, roasted, greens and egg with a light vinaigrette. I really liked the seasoning that encrusted the salmon. the atmosphere is pleasant as well since it is removed from the shop and has plenty of windows overlooking the downtown. I would recommend if at the mall and looking for a convenient, sit down lunch option.

I've been to this place twice. It's wouldn't be my first pic for a sit down meal but it's not too bad. There's not many options from the menu. But they do have some good things. The location is kind of hidden and I didn't know it was there till just recently. Not a bad place, has good food.

    Chinese chicken salad (half size)

My mom recommended to eat here so we dined here for an early dinner before watching the Lilac parade. The cafe was empty and there were lots of booths, tables to choose from. I had the half size chinese chicken salad which was good. Generous amount of chicken and tasty. Apparently you can half anything on the menu... Service here was also friendly. Would recommend if you're shopping in the area and looking for a nice, quiet sit down lunch

Super awesome place to eat with great food all around. I had the French dip and raspberry lemonade (a summer only drink) and they were both amazing! The sandwich is so filling I couldn't finish the other half. I totally recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped in on a whim after a trip downtown. I'd never been here before and I found it very calming. The dining area is tucked on the third floor of Nordstrom's and I think it would be a nice place for a girl's luncheon or a solo lunch. The staff was really lovely and gave my kiddo a box of raisins immediately as we came in. They have about five options on their kid's menu so I think it is totally child friendly, but the vibes were generally very quiet, so I felt like my kid was too loud (as opposed to, let's say Red Robin where you can barely hear!). I got a Chinese Chicken Salad for $12.50. It was a lovely salad, but probably not unique enough for me to order next time. I think I'll go back and try something else another time!

Thinking of the Mouth Gazum I was about to have only to get there and find out there was a 1 1/2 hr wait, we were going to a Show and wanted a bite to eat before going. The place was packed no place to sit and enjoy a cocktail!! So lesson Learned Book ahead Way ahead and ask to sit up on the loft!!

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

This flavorful dish was beautifully presented with ample prawns. It was extra saucy and a on the sweet side, which I didn't expect for phad thai but was glad I tried . I'm not sure I'd call it phad thai and that's probably the disconnect. It's more of a veggie and prawn noodle dish with a small Asian flair, definitely not a glamorous name , haha! Dessert The crème brûlée is the dessert winner - the citrus flair was light and refreshing. The mud pie was just ok. Lots of ice cream on a cookie crust but not sure I'd call it mud pie.

Let's get to the nitty gritty, the food quality was very good, taste was a knock out. The pasta and sauce was good enough that I was looking for specific tastes so I could recreate it, that's what I hope for in a restaurant! And there was fresh bread, oh how I could wax poetic about fresh bread and so few restaurants are on this very simple add. Dessert - I'm always hypercritical of crème brûle because like bread it's pretty simple ingredients but takes some care, Muzuna's nailed it.
