We have a similar restaurant at our Nordstrom in Honolulu and the food there is just as delicious here. Today we had the French dip sandwich, penne bolognese and the honey dijon Cobb salad. I dined at Nordstrom Cafe while in Spokane on a business trip. It was lunch time, but since it was a weekday, the restaurant was pretty empty. But I liked the space, it was very clean and spacious. I ordered Wild Salmon W/ Roasted Vegetables & Saffron Couscous and asked hot water w slice of lemon. The couscous salad was a little sweet for me, but the combination with the sockeye salmon was good. I would like to stop by here next time I come to Spokane. read more

I was very disappointed with our lunch today. I will give 3 stars only because the cup of tomato bisque was very good. I have wonderful memories of the Chinese chicken salad. The waitress told me they still make it but called a different name. The chicken was quite salty and the salad was essentially a box of spring mix. No bread served. It was just so so. My husband had a burger. The burger was overcooked charcoal edges. It was extremely dry without toppings. No lettuce, the pickles tasted weird and no tomatoes. The employees were very nice and efficient. The atmosphere warm and inviting. The food has certainly changed and not for the better. We won't be back. read more

We ended up here after not being able to decide on a restaurant in the downtown area. Worked out well! It's located at the top of Nordstrom and ended up being a perfect place to grab a quick lunch where everybody was able to get something they like. Standard Nordstrom Café with lots of sandwich and salad options. We ended up splitting an Oriental chicken salad which was quite lovely. The little gentlemen split some chicken nuggets and everybody very much enjoyed their meal. The woman who took care of us did a great job of checking on us just enough, and made sure that our drinks her for the entire time. All in all, it was a very nice setting, the food was good, the service was exceptional and we left very satisfied! read more

We were looking for a place to have a quick lunch in the Spokane downtown area. Located on the third floor of Nordstroms, the cafe has a counter to order and then table seating. We grabbed a table and then the server delivered our food. My only complaint was that the items did not come out at the same time. The Salmon Nicoise was excellent with a large piece of flaky salmon with a fresh pesto spread, sliced, roasted, greens and egg with a light vinaigrette. I really liked the seasoning that encrusted the salmon. the atmosphere is pleasant as well since it is removed from the shop and has plenty of windows overlooking the downtown. I would recommend if at the mall and looking for a convenient, sit down lunch option. read more

The pizza, flatbread and wings were out of this world amazballz! Wings were full of flavor, we ordered the garlic Parmesan. They have a great happy hour. And we plan on visiting again now that the salad bar is open. The downfall was service. Service was friendly but Sloooow. There is just something about this cafe that I absolutely love! I have to give all the credit to my mom for this one because she is who introduced me to this place. I seriously live for their Pesto Chicken Sandwich, paired with a mixed green salad topped with champagne vinaigrette dressing. Their Tomato Basil soup is another one of my favorites. What's even better is that they serve it with a slice of toasted garlic bread. During lunchtime this place can get hectic, and all the tables can fill up. Evenings tend to be a lot slower pace. I often frequent it on Saturday evenings to avoid the crowds. The service is efficient and friendly. There is an upscale, yet relaxed feel to this favored spot. Great hidden gem in downtown Spokane. Third floor of Nordstrom. The salads are delicious and the tomato basil soup is one of the best I have ever had (the best was at The Post Hotel in Lake Louise). Stopped in on a whim after a trip downtown. I'd never been here before and I found it very calming. The dining area is tucked on the third floor of Nordstrom's and I think it would be a nice place for a girl's luncheon or a solo lunch. The staff was really lovely and gave my kiddo a box of raisins immediately as we came in. They have about five options on their kid's menu so I think it is totally child friendly, but the vibes were generally very quiet, so I felt like my kid was too loud (as opposed to, let's say Red Robin where you can barely hear!). I got a Chinese Chicken Salad for $12.50. It was a lovely salad, but probably not unique enough for me to order next time. I think I'll go back and try something else another time! read more

I always forget about this cafe's existence and then see it when in the store, and am reminded. It is a nice, out of the way, cafe that is perfect for meeting with friends. Quiet enough to hear one another talk and comfortable seating. The food is affordable, it always tastes good, and you are never hassled to finish up to turn over the table by the staff. Just go there. Order the nicoise salad topped with a perfectly grilled fillet of salmon. A $26 dinner entree in any restaurant in town. What a bargain. And it couldn't be more perfectly cooked and plated. Or if you don't like salmon (you fool!) order the pizza marguerita. No Italian restaurant would be ashamed. I'm sorry to report that both the Spokane and Santa Barbara locations have drastically changed that once heavenly Niçoise salad with the "perfectly grilled" salmon. And I am assuming that all the Nordstrom in-store restaurants have the same menus and recipes, because both restaurants defiled that wonderful dish at about the same time. EVERYTHING is wrong! It's not even beautiful anymore, because they've added balsamic vinegar. It darkens the color -- the greens are no longer green! -- and ruins the subtle flavors of the separate components of the dish. And speaking of the separate components, although it wasn't actually a "composed" salad previously, you could tell that the green beans, tomatoes, egg, etc., had been carefully placed. The new salad is now tossed to smithereens with every ingredient overdressed, both locations. And please stay away from the Santa Barbara location -- they have redecorated, and made a disastrous error with their acoustics. One must shout across the table as though the place were a club featuring the loudest band extant. Don't go there unless you're under 30 -- you will regret not listening to me. (Though, it IS such a disaster that they must surely be working on the problem.) And that "perfectly grilled" tuna? Overdone (almost dry), at each location. At least for a true salmon lover, who requires that just-a-hint-of-pink at the heart of the fillet. I weep had I tell all this to you. read more

Nordstroms Cafe' deserves 5 Stars but i'm only offering 3 and here's why; The food & menu is excellent here; organic greens, fresh healthy ingredients, terrific assortment of salad, and the desserts hit a home run. I love the food here! My server Jordan was amazing who anticipated my every desire. The decor is great, seating comfortable & the lighting is warm & inviting. SO WHATS WRONG HERE? I ordered the almighty 'Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad..(since they were 'out' of the Nicoise Salad?) I Ordered it just as it comes...no changes nor substitutions...also ordered the macadamia-chocolate chip cookie & tap/filtered water with lemon. PERIOD, 3 easy items. PROBLEM; I WAITED 35 MINUTES before my food arrived...I cannot recall having waiting than 13 minutes at the Davenport, nor Madeleines, nor Sante, nor ANY OTHER RESTAURANT in town for that matter! SO WHAT'S WRONG HERE I ASKED MYSELF AS I GAZED AROUND THE RESTAURANT FOR ANSWERS? It's lunch, SO? It's busy...NO KIDDING AND NO WONDER..Read on AHHH...Ivan the manager of 9 years is busy I see...busy in the royal blue dress shirt with a tie...flirting with 2 single women seated, having himself a good-ole-time! Apparently "IVAN THE MANAGER" doesn't see anything wrong with guests waiting over 30 minutes for their food and this isn't the first time I have waited so long, (this is not an isolated incident) everyone has chosen to 'look the other way.' But Nordstrom"s has high standards, with staff who have 'great work-ethics', which is why so many of us shop & eat here...Right? Instead Ivan the Manager, chooses to lean on the arm of his guests chair, laughing and rambling on for over 15 MINUTES, while everyone is WAITING FOR THIER FOOD!! IS THIS RIGHT? When will a superior step up and say, "Ivan you have been here 9 Years too Long..WE WANT & DEMAND MORE!" After all, this is NORDSTROMS!! Directly after eating I stopped outside the door of the cafe and shopped in the home furnishings section with Theogony Dickerson...she couldn't do enough to help me...and when I purchased a small piece of furniture and bedding, she summoned for help...and help came with a smile from Kelsey who picked up the end table and carried it all the way to my car...So you see; NORDSTROM HAS VERY HIGH STANDARDS & GREAT STAFF...WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CAFE? I took the merchandise that I received from Nordstrom.com back to the store in Spokane as it didn't fit me well. I had all the tags, the shipping slip and the original plastic packaging. The salesperson that took the merchandise back took my shipping slip and gave me the receipt signifying that I retuned the item. A few days later I noticed that my account was not credited. I checked the receipt and I realized that the salesperson credited a someone else's credit card, and not my Nordsrom card! I called Norsdrom customer service, gave them all the information about this trasaction, and they replied that they will call me back after they do reseach. About 10 min later I received the phone call from customer service representative Joanna, stating that they credited the account that had been charged for this purchase. She then started to argue with me stating that I didn't pay for this item, despite the fact that had I provided her with all the required documention. I could not believe this. I called Nordstrom.com and it only took them a couple minutes to find my order and then credit my account for the returned merchandise, explaining that it was a mistake of a salesperson who processed the return. I have never received any apology from Nordstrom in Spokane. read more
