I've been to this place 3 times to have my hair done. 1 of the 3 was for my wedding. They sat myself with my bridesmaids all together and made it fun for us! I LOVE IT HERE. All 3 stylist that have helped me have been great. (One of them is the assistant manager)They're efficient, fast and friendly. This last time i went was Thursday (sept. 5) morning at 7am I let the gentleman know I started work at 8am so I needed to be done by then; not only did he have me ready in time he made my hair looked amazing! The products are all good too. I enjoy watching the girly movies they play, drinking coffee, mimosas and even the fun music. Couldn't be happier they're in VG mall! Really disappointed by this salon. This was my first time here. They did not inform me anything about the ten minute cancellation policy. I had called on the phone and clearly told them that this is my first time here. I also called them up at the time of my appointment that I would be a few minutes late. I was late by 2 minutes and they cancelled my appointment. Had I known about this policy I would have added extra buffer in planning my visit to this salon. They are definitely short staffed and are not doing a good job in informing their customers about their policies. Not everyone has the privilege of never being a few minutes late. Life happens and even the most punctual people can be late sometimes. All you need to do is ensure your policies are clear to the new customers and be a little more accommodating. This robotic style of running your business is not going to get you very far. It's a shame ! This is a difference between chains and self/family run salons. They would never send a new customer back because of something as trivial as this. Whereas an employee of a chain salon doesn't care as long as their salaries are being paid. read more

I had read the bad reviews and I was concerned. However our hair came out looking amazing. They were also on time (I was worried about this with the reviews mentioning lateness - our appointments were at 1030 AM). My sister was getting her hair done for her engagement party and my mother and myself also got our hair done. We all looked great. They were also able to pin the jewelry into my sister's hair and do her veil (we are Pakistani and wear these items for events like an engagement), and she looked just perfect. I'm a frequent blow-out gal. I hate doing my own hair, so I'm always looking for a new place to get a good blow out. I can honestly say that this was the best one I've had in a while. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out they ladies were so nice and welcoming. I didn't have an appointment and they were able to take me right way. They offered a drink once i checked in-- which after a busy work day is always needed! The wash was amazing, I felt like my scalp and hair were scrubbed clean. And the blow dry itself was amazing. They have a few different styles to chose from. I explained what I wanted and she made it happen! Several girl from my cousin's wedding party all came in for loose curls with lots of volume at the top, and I showed the stylist a picture of the hair I was going for. The blowout and dry styling ($49) took under an hour for me, but my roots came out super flat, flatter than if I air-dried my hair at home, and the curls were really messy with some pieces still being straight. The stylist also ripped out a lot of my hair at the crown of my head bc the brush she was using got stuck in my hair, which caused tons of broken hairs to stick straight up in the middle of my head. Everyone was super nice and friendly and the stylist did try to fix my hair after I took a look at it, but honestly it didn't look close to as good as it does when I do it myself at home. The other girls in our party also had mediocre experiences, although the bride's mom had an updo (by Johnny) which looked AMAZING. Overall, come for the updos but definitely skip this place for blowouts and dry styling. read more

Drybar has terrible customer service. It's impossible to contact the shops directly. The salon was fine and my stylist did a good job. When I checked out, the employees had problems with the cash register and ended up charging me twice. I had credits and they took two credits out. I even asked that they make sure not to do that because I could tell they kept running it through the system. You can not call shops directly with drybar, everything is run through their central call center. I also couldn't see my credits on my app. The next time I got a blow dry at a different salon, they charged my credit card and said I had no credits left. I have been trying to talk with someone to rectify the issue since 10/15 but nobody calls me back and the people at the call center just say they have to refer it up the chain. My membership was on hold due to Covid and I was looking forward to activating it again but now that I see how poorly they operate, I doubt I will. Terrible customer service. I'm still waiting for some resolution and it's been over two weeks. read more

Today i had an appointment at 930am for a reg wash&blowout, came early at 920 and left at 10am with absolutely nothing done. I decided to get my hair done, and I'm 9 months pregnant, had a wedding to go to and just didn't feel like styling my own. So I booked this appointment a few days ago, with no problem. I showed up early, and was told my the host that it would be 5-10 mins, because the stylist were running behind. Then after 15 mins she returns saying it'll be another 10-15 due to unexpected textures and conditions of the current customers hair. Okay. BUT THEN , one girl shows up and is taken almost immediately. Sure she's dry style only, and the host explains that her hair will be quick... but wait. Her appointment was 930 also, and not only did she show up after me, she was late... soooo why was she being seated before me?? THEN another five mins go by and the hostess asks for another 15 mins. I looked her right in the face and told her I want a cancellation. Sure the host was sweet and had a kind voice, but the fact was that they kept postponing my appointment. She offered 10$ off my service, but really, No thanks. People don't get blowouts because they are cheap. I had plans and now I had to go back to my hotel to do my hair on my own. Never gonna come back to this city anyways, but for sure not going to recommend this place considering I never even got to use their service. read more

I came back to this Drybar for two of my wedding events - my henna ceremony and my wedding reception. For my henna ceremony, Jhonny did my hair. I wanted a messy braid with baby's breath incorporated and my veil pinned. This was a style that Jhonny hadn't done before, but he took his time and executed it beautifully. He was meticulous but speeded up at the end when I told him I had a makeup appointment to get to at MAC. For my wedding reception, I had Asia and she did the most stunning old Hollywood style waves. I received so many compliments on my reception hair! She had another stylist (unfortunately I can't remember her name) help with pinning my veil. They knew they wouldn't be able to take me at my appointment time when I checked in 30 minutes prior and when I asked, at my appointment time what time was someone going to take me they said an additional 30 min. WTH? Who has time to wait around. They made me late for an event later today because now I have to go find another location to do it. When I walked in for my appointment I was told by Danielle that they took a walk-in and because their was only one stylist they could not do my blow out. When I told her I had made an appointment she told me she was busy talking and did not see that I had made the appointment. She then told me she called the support line. I told her she should have called me as I was a barfly member and she had my number. She told me she was not allowed. So despite having an appointment and being a repeat customer I did not even get an apology or an offer to rebook my appointment. I was just told they couldn't do my blow out. Danielle did not have a card for the manager, and did not know the manager's name. I was really looking forward to being pampered with a relaxing blow out. I came in to get my hair curled before a night out. They were prompt and on time and gave me a mimosa. That's where the positives end. I have extensions with my real hair and they charged an extra $25. I figured It would be worth it based on the photos I saw. It was the biggest let down. My hair looked like a 5 year old had done it. Curls were falling in every direction. Worst was my hair was completely limp and lifeless and straight by the time I got to the car (my hair is naturally curly by the way and I have never seen this happen). I love the concept! You can call, walk-in and make your appointment to have your hair blown out. So much so I became a member that for 85/89 buck you get two blowouts a month. If you go in more often they discount your blowout by five bucks. They offer you water, coffee and for those of us who like wine or champagne you can have a glass and relax while the stylist does her magic. DryBar also has great music playing and fun chic-flics on the TV monitors. It's very important that you communicate what it is you want with your stylist and be realistic with what it is your hair is capable of doing. Not only that, BUT whenever you try something new, I like to do a dry run first at least once, sometimes twice. Hair is tricky and so are our expectations. You can't expect the stylist to read your mind or even do miracles. I have thick coarse hair, about six inches long and I'm a guy, I asked for my hair to be curled. They said they had someone that could do it, I sat in the chair got on my phone and she went to work. When she was done I had curls alright but not what I was looking for. Totally my fault I paid and tipped the stylist, beelined and laughed at myself all the way home...It's only hair. I new I was at the right place, just had to give it another try....That's where Lisa comes in... She greeted me warmly, I had a charcoal shampoo that day I was feeling extra. And we had a CONSULTATION!!! The most important thing before anything else. LIsa took her time, she was professional and has such a positive demeanor that I knew I was sitting in the chair I was meant to be in when I saw the DryBar coming soon sign. Lisa has done different styles with my hair, Full Volume, wavy and beachy-next day hair. Bree has given me a blown back, fully pinned back look for a special occasion and everyone loved the way it turned out, especially me. Lisa has gotten to know my hair and every time we get together it turns out better not only that but my hair is also a little longer so the tools she can start using on my hair are broader. Both ladies did a great job with the wash (did not pull my hair) and style (great look and long lasting). The receptionist has been friendly and helpful every visit. My niece booked this place for the entire bridal party to get their hair done. We had a wonderful time there, however by 11:00 everyone's hair had fallen including the bride. Come to find out, the gave the bride to someone who only had two weeks experience. He used black Bobby pins on a platinum blond bride! He only used two pins to secure her head piece. That had fallen out as well. We had to call another stylist out to the venue to assist with fixing the brides hair. When we called the customer service line, we were told that someone would get back to us in 48 hours. Absolutely ridiculous.... will never go back. read more

I've been coming here since they opened about 6 months ago, never had a problem until now. Last weekend I had an appointment they said 3 people called in sick so there behind, well they ended up being behind more then an hour I told them I have to leave obviously I have plans or I wouldn't be doing my hair but now they wasted an hour of my time I need to go home and do it myself. So I said sorry I can't stay. They ended up charging me the $20 cancellation fee anyway. So I called and complained got my money back (rightfully so). So now I come back one week after make an appointment which was for 3:15 and I'm still sitting here waiting. So Idk what is going on here but management obviously needs to hire more people that way when people dont show up it doesn't effect regular business. Also they charge $20 cancel fee because their time is valuable and so is mine so I would appreciate a phone call saying we are running behind. I bring my special needs family member here and they are so understanding and supportive in treating her with respect and listening to her wishes. So I was excited about this drybar opening up in Rancho as I have been to others in the OC and loved it. I called days ahead and made an appointment for my friend as she was going dress shopping for her wedding and thought It would be a nice surprise for her to get pampered a little. I informed the girl on the phone that it was a surprise and I wanted to take care of everything including the tip. She informed me that this would not be a problem and took down all my information. To my surprise I looked on my card and noticed I had not yet been charged so I asked my friend if they had said anything to her. My friend informed me that they charged her and she just didn't want to tell me (apparently they told her my card did not go through). The girl in the front was reassuring (her name might have been Dani) and said she'd only put me with the best. I show up and I was assigned to Johnny and LET ME TELL YALL he was AH-MAZ-IN'.
