Well, it was my first experience at a dry bar.It was busy. Dec 24. The lady's up front were ok. Not very friendly. We didn't know what to expect. There are only two places to sit and wait so there are people standing in the check in area. My daughter was having her senior pictures and I wanted to take her to have her hair done. We had an early appointment 8am. They washed her hair and It took about an hour and looked good after. I just do not see anything extra special about it. I felt like I was expecting more. More volume bigger curls. By the time we made it to the studio for the pictures we had to brush her hair out and fix it. I really feel like Its something I could do for her at home. I don't feel that there is anything that stood out and made me feel like I would want to go back. read more

Furious!!!!!! I booked an appointment online for my daughter. She was visiting my mom and thought this would be a fun outing while she was out there. When she came back him a few hours later her Hair looked good, and she said the person who did her hair was very nice. My daughter is mixed, gets her hair done every 6-8 weeks. This place is open on the weekends figured we would try. My daugshe kept complaining that her head hurt and it was wet. When I went to touch it I pulled my hands out and there was blood. Looking through her scalp they were eight or nine spots that were bloody. When I contacted the shop to ask what was used they stated that the girl who did her hair was off for the day, and there was no manager to assist me. I asked if they could tell me what was used? She said that they could give me a list of items that they have, but are unsure what was used on her hair. Also a manager wouldn't be able to call me until Tuesday! Mind you, it's Sunday! As a mother your daughter is bleeding and having no answers at all. Worst experience ever!!! Appointments are not honored. Waited for over 20 minutes while my stylist was on lunch break.

I had a 3:15 PM appointment and checked in at 2:55 PM. The front desk worker said they had a 3:00 PM appointment that they would have to take before me, which is totally fine. A different client came in at 3:15 and said they had a 3:15 PM appointment too. The stylists took in BOTH people before me. I waited until 3:50, at which point another stylist approached me and asked if I was waiting for something. Yes???? My appointment at 3:15?! That stylist grabbed another stylist and checked the computer again, only to tell me that they don't see my appointment. I told them no, I do, and was already checked in by the front desk worker (who has since gone home now). She eventually found my appointment but had no explanation on why I was not called. Literally waited an hour for nothing and felt so stupid. I ended up telling them to just cancel my appointment because they were only able to offer me a dry style at that point. BELIEVE the reviews that say you will be waiting for a long time! The second girl that arrived with the same appointment time as me wasn't even taken in until 3:45. If you have an important event after or on a strict schedule, don't come here. read more

I did not want to do this but i have to be honest. I went in to get my hair washed and blow dried. Nothing special. I have extensions and when I booked my appointment I stated i had extension as well as the length. The girl who washed my hair had 0 idea what she was doing. She didnt even wash the bottom half of my hair WHICH IS CRAZY. She just put some shampoo and rinsed it out. She did not scrub the bottom half of my hair only the top and when they blow dried my hair it looked oily? Never had that happen before. I dont think they put any type of leave in or heat protectant on my hair. Im not sure if you have to pay for that but everywhere other salon i get a blow out at puts a leave in and a heat protectant. I feel like thats a standard practice. Considering i paid over $100 because i tipped i think its a little ridiculous i cant get my hair washed correctly and the girl blow drying my hair was kinda complaining because she had to blow dry my hair and it was taking longer than she thought? Maybe have a no extension policy or something? Plus when i left, the bottom half of my hair was still kinda wet. The top was frizzing too. The manager and staff at this location are very rude and disrespectful. I have the barfly membership and the times I have come the manager ALWAYS has an attitude. When you walk in you can hear the staff laughing and chatting it up in the back room. I think the manager was getting a blowout herself so she couldn't take appointments. Staff are not helpful when it comes to booking appointments. I was over charged twice at this location, reached out multiple times and I was promised a refund that has not been resolved since October 2023. I was also told that the manager Brook would be giving me a call before closing out my most recent tab but I never received a call and my card was once again over charged. Let me just say this first...I have coily curly hair...but a friend with the same hair type as me recommended I try it out, so I did, and let me tell you...my experience was way better than I would have thought. I made my appointment for later in the evening, so I was the last person in the shop. I was greeted by my stylist, Jordan (I told her she has the same name as my sister), and we went to work. I got a classic blowout with a bay breeze hydration treatment. The products they use are amazing btw. They also won't let you bring your own, which I'm glad I didn't because I ended up loving what she used in my hair. But this review is mostly for Jordan. She did a phenomenal job at not only my blowout, but teaching me what each thing did and how it helped my hair turn out silky straight and what products to use for my hair type. (She also had the same type of hair as me so it worked out). Not only did I find my new stylist, but I think we're going to be friends, due to the amount of similarities we had. I'm not gonna name the stylist who did my hair because she was super sweet and i didn't have a problem with HER. I had a problem with the lack of training that she had in dealing with curly hair. When you apply heat to curly hair, you HAVE to protect it (by using heat protectant products). This was not done. My hair came out completely frizzy and poofy and the smell of burnt hair was SO BAD. Not exaggerating- it took me A WHOLE MONTH to get the smell of hurt hair out. A MONTH. I washed my hair and deep conditioned it SO MANY TIMES and i could still smell it. I should've saved my money and done it myself. I just wanted the luxury of having someone else straighten and style my hair. Never again. Drybar as a company should spend the time and money in training their employees to know how to care for ALL hair types- not just straight hair. read more

I go to the Drybar every single week, usually on Saturday mornings at 7 am before I kickstart my very busy weekends (and weekdays). The Drybar is an awesome place for super busy professionals like me who have no patience (or real good knowledge) of doing hair. The stylist who has done my hair the last 2 years is Brianni Williams and she is incredibly good. She knows exactly what clients are looking for, knows all the proper tips and tricks, like using a flat iron to curl hair, and products that work better for certain hair textures. When I go, I'm in and out within 50 minutes at the most, and I'm set for the next 5 to 6 days. I just use dry shampoo at home to keep it clean but the style remains that entire time. I come across thousands of people in the course of my job and my businesses so looking professional and presentable is highly a necessity for me. The Drybar is clean, well-maintained, well-lit, and I trust their cleaning/sanitizing practices. I HIGHLY recommend the Drybar in Rancho Cucamonga and Brianni! read more

It seems that some people have had very good luck with this place, but I was sadly not one of them. I made an appointment on Saturday morning to have my hair blown out after my curling iron died on me the morning of my sister-in-laws baby shower and another event later that night. I decided to have my hair professionally done instead of running out for a new curling iron. WHAT A MISTAKE! When I arrived I was greeted and offered a mimosa. The receptionist went back to grab that for me and it never arrived. She didn't even acknowledge she hadn't brought it when I paid at the very end. I've attached photos of what I always style my hair to - and what I showed the girl who did my hair - and also the final product. I let her know that I had two events that day so it definitely needed to have some product so that it would stay. I also let her know that I don't like super rigid curls but instead prefer waves. I also have a lot of hair and it can start looking like a triangle very quickly if the waves aren't placed in the right spot. We also talked about leaving about an inch of hair straight at the very bottom to make sure they were waves and NOT curls. She asked if I wanted the waves brushed out, and I told her yes. I'm a very low maintenance girl who doesn't typically react to a bad hair job. But this time was awful, I left in tears. I didn't have enough time to even fix the disaster until I was at my mother in law's house that afternoon for the baby shower. I had very rushed Shirley Temple style curls. The stylist didn't put ANY product in it and didn't even brush it out. Everyone who saw my hair that day commented on what a disaster it was. I'm not sure if Dry Bar was rushing to get someone in or if the stylist I had was just terrible but it was a total joke. No one asked me if I liked it, I was just rushed up to the front to pay. I had to rewash my hair and do it myself before the nighttime event. I'm lucky I was able to make the time for that. I'm not sure what to tell someone else looking to get their hair done there - I felt like I was very explicit with what I was looking for and they stylist never once asked for clarification if she needed it. I felt rushed, un-prioritized and that she simply didn't listen to what I wanted. I would have much preferred her saying she didn't know how to do this style so I could have saved myself the hassle and done it myself. (I do love the Dry Bar product though - it smells amazing and I will continue to use, I will just purchase from Sephora instead.) read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went there for a blow out, just straight, no curls. The stylist didn't even use a round brush to blowout my head. She never fully dried my hair, then proceeded to flatiron went hair. I've tried dry bar at several locations, and have never left so disappointed and with wet hair. The point of coming to a salon like this is it's hard to blow out your own hair with a round brush. So I wasted $50, left the salon with a wet head, and was on my way to dinner and didn't have time to go home and fix it. Normally, I can go 2-3 days after a blowout and my hair keeps and looks great. Not this time! Not sure if the stylist was having a bad day or what, but she was very rude. You couldn't ask/say anything to her. I wouldn't waste your time here. Will never return again. My family had a special occasion yesterday, so I decided to get a blowout at Drybar. I figured this would save me time and I know my hair would look good and I wouldn't have to worry about it. I couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment I entered, every interaction with the staff was unfriendly. I got there early, checked in, but still had about 15 minutes before my appointment, so I walked around outside. When I returned, there was no one behind the front counter. I waited and waited, then finally an employee asked if I needed help. She was talking to a friend and actually rolled her eyes when she had to stop chatting and come help me. The entire time I was there, employees were chatting about their personal lives, talking to one another, but not interacting at all with their clients. I heard about who went out the night before, who was still wearing last night's makeup, how the salon was entirely out of hairspray (HOW IS THST EVEN POSSIBLE?), etc. The door to their break room, behind the mirrors and TV's was open, so I was looking at a messy office most of the time. My stylist ripped my hair so many times while drying. She kept catching the strands that were in the clip, separating the sections, while using the round brush. My hair looked fine when she was done, but again, not a can of hairspray in the place, so I paid, left, hoping to make it home in time to spray it myself. I immediately left the mall and had a 10 minute drive to get home. By the time I got home, my hair was nearly straight. Before and after pictures are included in the review. Needless to say, I had to completely redo my hair myself and couldn't believe I paid $55 to basically get my hair washed. I come here, at least once a week. As someone who struggles with their confidence in their hair, this place has completely transformed it. The girl at the front desk is always so sweet and we always chop it up for a little bit before my appointment. I always love walking in and seeing her. Everyone there is amazing, but I always like to request Anika or Denise because I love our conversations and they are the sweetest things ever. I have dry, and textured hair. So I know that sometimes it's hard to find someone who's comfortable with textured hair. These ladies are all trained to deal with hair like mine, and they do it with ease. They are NEVER on time with appointments. Took me almost 45 minutes after my appointment time. I plan my entire day out to make sure I'm on time for an event. I have a membership and make and appointment at least once a month and this is the third time they've been late on me for an appointment. There's a difference between 5-10 minutes late but they're 30-60 minutes late at times. They need to change something so they don't run too behind. My appointment was at 10am and didn't get seen til 10:45. If you're in a rush or need to be somewhere by a certain time don't recommend coming here. Last time I came in a Thursday and they were 15 minutes behind but it's still a good amount of time. I don't get why they accept appointments if they can't take them in time. I asked the receptionist how long the wait would be about 20 minutes after my appointment and she wasn't very friendly. I understand it isn't her fault but she could be a little nicer. read more

Loved my experience at Drybar this past weekend! Britney washed and gave me nice soft curls. Both Devin and Britney braided my hair and were so patient and sweet. I first requested one style of braids, which I loved but just wasn't the look I was going for so I asked to switch it as she was just about done. I have a bad habit of not always speaking my mind, but I just didn't want their efforts to go in vain only to bring the braid down at home. So I spoke up and they were so sweet and thankful for my honesty- without hesitation they re-did my braid and it was exactly what I wanted. I came to this Dry Bar from Santa Monica since I had an event in the area. I have to say I LOVE my stylist! Martin. The service at this location was impeccable. Martin was not only friendly but he gave me one of the BEST shampoo's I've had in a long time, massaging the scalp. I choose the Manhattan and it came out EXCELLENT! I love his blow drying technique! I am honestly so baffled by the type of customer service and blowout I received today. I had an appointment and got there early, soon as I walked in I was delightfully greeted by the receptionist and manager but as soon as I got seated with a stylist that's when things took a turn for the worst. The stylist right off the bat did not care about what I had to say because she gave me exactly what I didn't want, I knew that this appointment with her would be silent no talking and it sure was, she was also very rough while doing my hair. I could tell she was not in a good mood because overall it seemed like she did not want to be doing my hair. I know stylist's have their own way of doing blowouts however I truly feel as if she didn't know what she was doing. I told her I want volume so why would you use a straightener on my hair? I didn't speak up due to the fact that it seemed like a chore for her to be doing my hair in the first place. I know people have bad days however the lack of customer service was just astonishing to me I just wanted to get out of there. You can see in the pictures how frizzy and ugly she left my hair I have never experienced a horrible blowout and am deeply disappointed. I have gotten multiple blowouts at this dry bar and have watched how each stylist does it and have never seen one do it the way she did it... I do not recommend going to Mykala.
