We unfortunately, had an expensive and negative experience with DryMaster. We were blindsided by Drymaster's bills. We called them to repair a leak from a pipe behind a wall in our kitchen. They came to our house fairly quickly and placed equipment such as fans, dehumidifiers, and air movers in our kitchen for a few days to dry out the damp wall caused by the leak. They had us sign a contract for any charges they might incur while trying to fix the leak. We were told that the asbestos test they performed was state law (Rule 1403) and a requirement. Unfortunately, there was no additional explanation, and we were not informed of the price, so we could not consider options. After talking with neighbors with similar leak problems, we were told that for newer houses such as ours with less than 100 square feet of work area and in a residential dwelling, this testing was probably unnecessary. We were not told how expensive either the testing or the rental equipment would be, therefore forgoing the option to perform our own testing or use our own fans. DryMater charged us $165.81 for the initial service visit, $646.80 for the asbestos testing, and $617.94 for drop off and rental fees of their equipment for two days. After a plumber told us that they were probably charging for the fans, my husband called DryMaster and asked them to remove the fans as we were not aware that we were being charged. They stopped by the house, but their van was full, so they only picked up one fan and had to leave the others for a third night. Later on, when we received the bill, we had a charge for three rental equipment days. After much discussion about the bill, DryMaster removed the third day from our invoice. After two days and no work on the leaky pipe, we had a charge of $1,430.55. I complained, and after much discussion, they were willing to reduce our bill by $250, for a final price of $1,180.55. Because the company did not initially inform us of costs, options and were not upfront or transparent in their charges, we decided to use another contractor instead. If you can get beyond DryMatser's unnecessary expenses, inflated pricing, and lack of transparent charging, their work may be good. But we were not able to overlook the initial charges. As prices become available, we need to be informed. Fans and Asbestos testing are performed often, so we should have been told about them. Perhaps if DryMaster were to be transparent in their charges before performing their services, we would not be where we are today. read more

DryMaster completed an interior repair (drywall, ceiling, paint, etc.) following a roof leak I had in my condo, and they did a fantastic job. The technician working at my house, Alfonso C, was friendly, punctual, professional, and the completed project looks perfect. He was also super clean, which I appreciate! I was worried about dust/residue/things being left out of place/that kind of thing, which is it be expected during any type of construction, but he cleaned up EVERYTHING, and put my items back in their place, too. DO NOT USE THEM! I am giving them 1 star because I have to give at least 1 star, otherwise it would be zero. They have 4 separate Departments run as separate companies under the same name. They do not talk to each other, so if you need more than 1 type of work performed (water vs mold vs repair vs pack-out/pack-in) you will become the general contractor to oversee the teams from the various departments. And instead of them guiding you on the next step, the feedback will be coming from you to them to let them know what was done and what needs to be done next. You will get separate bills from each department and they will need to be paid separately as the different departments are not connected in their accounting. They will take months to get your bills to you, only after you request them, then expect to be paid immediately upon receipt. You will have to become a contract expert because they charge for things they didn't do and leave out necessary charges for things that need to be done. You will need to go through the itemized charges with a fine tooth comb and learn what the briefed descriptions mean to be able to intemperate the charges. If you need contents packed out you will need to take pictures of everything as your own evidence of what you have so when items don't come back, you have proof you had them. You will have to oversee what gets packed out to make sure that (if due to water or mold) anything wet or moldy does not get packed as they will try to push it off to your insurance company when it comes back moldy. I had a major flood that required all four services, and in time of need when I needed their support, instead of them helping me they added to my nightmare. read more

I don't know where to start with this review. I don't often leave bad reviews but there is no doubt that this deserves the worst rating that can be given. From the initial estimation of repairs which was clearly underestimated to the disrespectful treatment of our property, I would never trust this company for repairs again. Much of our furniture was damaged. Doors to the house were often left unlocked when the workers left. Items in the garage were stacked up in large piles when we returned home. The hot water heater and ovens were not working. Dust from the work was everywhere in the house and covered most of the couches and tables downstairs where most of the work was performed. Workers used our personal items such as paper towels out of our pantry and used our paper towel dispenser to hold painters tape for repairs. Our dolly was used to move appliances and then they took it when they left. Additionally, the contractor, Maury Collins, never responded to any inquiries regarding these issues. These are just the problems that I can recall but that's plenty. After 5 extra weeks past their estimated completion of 3 weeks, we easily ran out of patience by the end of this process and hope that nobody ever has to tolerate this kind of treatment from this company. read more

We just had our water damage for the 1st time ever, and we had no idea what to do, but Technician name Vincent went step by step with us and fr the day 1, we felt better already. He covered our things and upstairs so well so that dust won't get in. Thanks to him we were still able to live in our home during this disaster. After about a week later, we had a visit from adjuster form our insurance company and the adjuster even said Vincent did a great job... Cold showers no more! As a local insurance Agent - I have referred the DryMaster crew to several of my customers - they have been very happy and thrilled with the services. But most recently, I had a personal issue. An exploded water heater, complete with wall damage, water damage and traces of mold - not a pretty sight. To the rescue came the good folks at DryMaster. Not only did they replace the water heater, they fixed the drywall, cleaned up the mess and did it all in a day! Actually in about 6 hours. I can again take warm showers. They didn't even dry the carpeted area. I had a bad leak that got to the carpeted area of my home. They came in demolishing everything looking for mold. When asked how the demolished area is getting fixed, they kept referring to different divisions of the company opposed to giving an answer. Took them about 4 weeks to dry one area. They left dehumidifiers running in my home for 2 weeks. Didn't replace the drywall for 3 weeks. Left a pipe leaking under my sink. Spilled paint onto other parts of my wall and said they do not fix painting issues. Worst of all, didn't even completely dry the affected area Long story short: they did such a terrible job, I opted to have tile installed to replace the carpet they came to dry. ************************************************** The company response to this review is the most communication I've received from the company since they started. Highlighting timelines instead of apologizing for your poor communication and poor quality of work is reflective of the poor leadership shown within this company. Not even sure who Jon B. is since different people were sent each time and only one person left a card in case I had questions. Thank you to that one employee. I've noticed that Jon B. seems to be the one responding to other negative reviews, but I'm not sure why I need to give a public review to get your attention. Calling a customer's comments "untrue" doesn't change my opinion nor should it change the opinions of other potential customers. Communication with your customers needs to be better, not just the HOA. Additionally, the quality of your work also needs great improvement overall. Your work created more problems than solutions. Please choose to make improvements within your company upon my review instead of criticizing the comments of your customers. A++ service!!!!.. Highly recommend!! I hate that I was in a situation that I needed this emergency help. But am so happy that this was the company given to us!!! Thank you Jason and unfortunately the rest of the crew that I didn't get names of. Unfortunately came home to the most horrific and disgusting plumbing issue I have ever witnessed happening in my own kitchen. My upstairs neighbor had a plumber who had a plumber to unclogged his blockage he was having, and the plumber pushed both blockages down 2 floors to my floor stage 4 and sewage/feces came up through my sink and sat there after overflowing all over entire kitchen floor. I called them on their at emergency after hour service and they responded within 5 minutes of a dispatch call. ..and they arrive ASAP. Poor guys, They were horrified and diagnosed Stage 4 black water (feces) filling up two sides of sink and floors... Because building was built in 1950.. The back up pipes somehow mixed up on overflow...an experience I never want to see again. They stayed till like 3AM in morning until completely removed, so plumber could come and resolve problem. Our water heater began to leak and we contacted DryMaster. They had a plumber out the next day and had a new water heater installed within hours. The plumber, Mark, was very courteous and friendly. He explained why the water heater began to leak (really just due to old age). And when I asked him how to flush the new water heater he showed me exactly how to do that and how frequently I should do it in order to have my new water heater last as long as possible. We had a slab leak in our home while out of town. I was able to get the leak fixed quickly by our plumber but the damage was already done to our walls and kitchen cabinetry. Our nephew recommended DryMaster as a complete cleanup and restoration company. Frank was the lead on our job. He was extremely professional, was on time, communicated with me daily on the the process and his findings. I was heartbroken to have our downstairs destroyed but Frank and his team took care of everything and made a bad situation the best it could be. I highly recommend this company. We noticed that water was dripping from our garage's ceiling on Sunday evening & we checked all water supply upstairs if there's a leak but we didn't find any. For peace of mind, we called Chris & Ieft him a voice mail but wasn't expecting a response until next business day. Surprisingly , he called back & readily scheduled for a plumber (Mark) to come out in the morning. From the moment we called they were courteous, knowledgeable & professional. We had water leaking from underneath of the refrigerator. We called an appliance repair company and they said it was not related to the fridge and we needed a plumber to check the pipes. We called DryMaster which we had used before. They sent two folks within a few hours. One was Terry who was the plumber. He checked all the pipes and concluded no leaks. He then looked at the fridge and found that the water filter had cracked and that was the source of the leaks even though he was not an appliance person. Terry is thorough and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend him for plumbing work. Overall we have been happy with DryMaster. Earlier this year we had a very big flood in our living room and they did the clean up and dried it out. read more

After being contracted by my insurance they came out and did work on my house. After they left another contractor came in and found mold they missed and thousands of dollars worth of it at that; in the walls and carpet. My insurance didn't pay them and they came after me. I dealt with several people and was told different things by different management. They were finally paid but I was promised things I didn't receive. I would not use this company. On August 11, I had the unfortunate experience of a water leak damage due to the piping within the walls. Dry Master is one of the contractors for the HOA that cover the Crystal Cay Laguna Niguel area. They have set up the blower machines upstairs and the downstairs bathrooms. On August 18, Vincent O' Campo a Lead from Dry Master came, for the first time, to assess my home. Unfortunately, he had discovered additional issues in three separate occasions that needed to be addressed to management. In turn, I am blessed to have Property Manager, Jennifer Anaya to be on top of my additional issues and to have them approved immediately. I have seen Vincent's ethics in his work and the processes that he does at my home, and knew at that point the he was very experienced and knew what he was doing. I called Dry Master and asked to keep Vincent on my home project until it is completed, in which they did. Vincent is very respectful and explains to me on his daily work projects what he does in my home. He had even gone above and beyond. One of the other contractors forgot to do a few things and Vincent fix them all accordingly so that HOA will not be billed. I noticed that when he has helpers he trains them as he goes along. With his respect for people, his work ethics and his work experiences, I felt that Vincent is doing a outstanding and professional job. Throughout the weeks I've seen some employees from Dry Master but they don't hold the same level of experience and capabilities of what Vincent holds. I've been a homeowner for 19 years and I have not seen a contractor like Vincent doing a thorough job and making sure everything is done correctly the first time around. We are in the process of recovering from a kitchen leak which caused a mold situation. Since our house was built over 60 years ago there was also an asbestos presence. We had our insurance co choose a remediation co to do the job. Our insurance co had ATI come out originally. They seemed ok. Was I wrong. I was very concerned that they hid some of the mold areas from the mold test. Plus we are in week 4. I was right!! Needless to say we fired ATI... Drymaster to the rescue .... Jason arrived the same day and uncovered the mold areas that were covered by plastic and noticed mold in those covered areas. James worked with my wife to schedule the work time. EnviroCheck was called out the next day to test the air. The mold test failed!!! Jason and Vince of Drymaster came out the following day to replace the collapsed ATI containment (2nd time it collapsed) and reveal the obvious mold areas that were hidden by the plastic that ATI put up. When the sink was removed by ATI there was a dripping valve. ATI's counter measure was first putting a tub under the leak then putting a plastic bag around it to collect the water. Drymaster had plumbers come out to fix the drip. Mark and Richard of Drymaster did the repair very timely and did it right. What a pleasure to work with this company. Everyone communicated clearly!!! Our kitchen flooded recently from the condo unit upstairs, resulting in cabinets needing to be pulled out and walls opened up and dried. Serafin was here the next day thoroughly testing for moisture, and then was back later to pull things apart. He does excellent work and was so considerate and helpful during his part of the process; I could not believe how clean he left the place when he was finished. He did everything he could to reduce the pain of the process; I would highly reccomend him and his colleagues at Drymaster to anyone in this situation. read more

Marvin from Drymaster is fantastic. He's helpful, professional, and super kind. I was impressed when Marvin put on the shoe cover as he walks in my home. I've never seen any one do that. That was a great first impression. He was thorough, took time to check on the leak, and trying to find where it is from. Unfortunately, it couldn't be determined as a plumber would be needed. Since I live in a Condo, Marvin kindly explained to me how this most likely would be a pressurized leak and it would be HOA's responsibility to fix it if that's the case. With HOA, I can't choose the company I want to go for, therefore, I could not give the business to Marvin. Even knowing that, Marvin still takes his time to explain everything to me and super friendly. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I also got other bids and was not happy to learn that this little leak was going to cost thousands of dollars completely out of my pocket. I chose drymasters because I felt they sensed my frustration and were so understanding and courteous to me. They came out quickly and were so polite. They explained the process and what I could expect. Everyone I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable and extremely professional. They sure put me at ease during this unfortunate incident. Excellent customer service! My home insurance referred me to Dry Master to check for water damage from a water heater leak. I did not get someone on the phone right away, but I got a call back in less than 5 minutes. In less than an hour, Devin was sent over and he got there within an hour, earlier than expected. He was knowledgeable, had good equipment to find moisture in the wall, was upfront and helpful. He was also very patient while I dealt with my HOA, who was responsible for the leak, and giving me the runaround. Unfortunately, the property manager in the end decided to have another company come in the next day to do the work (and they were late every time!). read more
