Another great addition to Stonestown shopping mall. DSW is currently doing a soft opening and already has an extensive range of shoes and accessories available. The layout, size and space is very similar to that of the old DSW that was located at Westlake years ago. Such as the sale section, located on the far right of the store and the women's section at the front of the store and the mens are located at the back. Here, you try on shoes and if you like them, you find your size and then take it to the cashier. No more waiting for the attention of staff to look for your shoes size. Picked up a pair of Adidas scandals at a great price of $25. Although they sell mainly shoes, they also have toiletries, stuffy toys, handbags and socks around the front desk. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Glad to see this place open just in time for the Seasonal Thanksgiving and Christmas crowds. Also, download the App, where you'll receive discounts and special offers. Heard Grand Opening will be on Sat, Oct 11th at 11am!!!

They opened today! This is a bright, well organized and clean store. They had several very nice employees who were roaming around to help (it was clear a bunch of people are being trained by managers on the floor). I'm hopeful they eventually get a wider selection of shoes - they have a ton of heels and active wear, but not as many flats/every day shoes. That said, I bought a sufficient number of shoes that I had to call my husband to give me a ride home. They don't have those in-store bags where you can carry around your finds while shopping (who hurt you, DSW?), but they will hold your potential shoe purchases in jail behind the counter while you shop. Which is still better than balancing them while walking around the store. Excited to have them at Stonestown! I wish you well, DSW.

I just transitioned from a desk job to one where I'm constantly running around and on my feet and I…read morerealized my Converse and fashion sneakers weren't cutting it. Thoroughly impressed with my first visit to On the Run Shoes. It's been at least 20 years since the last time I had the kind of full service shoe shopping that they provide here. I arrived on a Saturday around noon, was greeted immediately upon entering, and was asked if I was in to browse or if I needed assistance. I chose the latter and was assigned very promptly to the sales specialist Will. He had me sit and asked me questions on what I was looking for. I told him about my new work situation and he asked what kinds of aches and pains I was experiencing in my feet at work. I told him it was primarily in the arch and ball of my foot and I was mostly worried about my knees and lower back. My job involves shipping and order fulfillment and I work out of a converted home in the city - all day long I'm either standing, carrying boxes up and down stairs, or running around doing various tasks. It's rare that I sit unless I'm on my lunch break. Will also had me take the shoes I was wearing off and walk back and forth in my socks so he could analyze my gait. Then he measured my feet and turns out that my shoe size is more of an 8 or 8.5 - I'd been wearing size 7 for years! After the consultation Will brought out three pairs of shoes for me to try. HOKA, New Balance, and Brooks. He put them on me and laced them up, then had me walk around in them and give him feedback. I figured out pretty quickly that the New Balance shoes felt the best - the other two were a little too roomy and wide - I like the feeling when a shoe is hugging my foot and is secure. I was also recommended to get special cork insoles for greater arch support and stability. Will put those insoles into the shoes I chose and had me feel the difference. I ended up purchasing both the shoes and insoles. Total with tax was just a little over $240. It's the most I've spent on shoes in decades but it's worth the splurge being that I'll be wearing these at least 5 out of the 7 days each week. At checkout I was told of their return policy - only store credit and the shoes have to be in re-sellable condition. I doubt I'm going to have problems with these after the very thorough consultation and selection process. Thank you to everyone and especially to Will for an amazing experience. I'll definitely be back and also highly recommend anyone to go here if you want happy feet. I take public transport in the city and the 44 MUNI drops me off literally across the street from the shop at 9th and Irving.

He picked out everything I needed, and I picked a pair of 990 Sneakers. By the time I got home, the shoes were uncomfortable. Today I realized my feet were rocking from side to side and front to back. I took off the sneakers and saw that the inserts were crooked and sliding. The backs of the inserts have stickers to stick to the bottom of the shoe. They have a paper cover over them that needs to be taken off. James did not do that, so my foot was sliding all over the place. I myself took care of it today. This is something James should have known to do. And for $270, I received extremely poor service.

For a store like this in a city like this I can see why they'd be cautious or would fully neglect to answer questions on the items they have in stock. It's better to go in. Customer service was cool. It wasn't a busy day and I got to try on some shoes I was interested in. There was one pair though that wasn't on the shelf and I didn't know it was some popular release. Apparently they were the Dime x Asics and the person who won never came to pick them up. They're a nice basic shoe. I'd say if you pay attention to subtle details you'd like the slight brown ombre on the shoe. Anyway, after trying on AJ1 lows that were comfy, and another pair of AJ1Mids in women's that I would have bought had they been available in my actual size and not a half size down, I walked out with the Asics. Customer service was great because the associate helping me was actually helpful. They brought me the shoes I wanted and after small talk it seemed like they picked up on the fact that I'm a bit of a sneaker lover, hence the recommendation for the shoes that were a collab and sold out everywhere release. I'm glad they were in my size. Also, they gave me the info to find the shoes that I wanted in my size on their website. Anyway, cool store and cool location.
