Rocking my new Top Peak Bag
    Michelle C.

We've been coming here for over a decade! Customer service is top notch. We traded in our last bikes and upgraded to Giant pedal assist e-bikes! We loved our last bikes but now love having the assist in which we can ride further and get help when needed going up steep inclines. Robert the owner is super friendly, humble and knowledgeable. He always listens to what we want and goes above and beyond. My husband recently surprised me with a metal basket but it didn't work out for me as I had something else in mind. We went to see Robert and he had no problem exchanging the basket and showing me options. I love options and how he wants to make sure his customers are satisfied. I absolutely love my new upgraded Top Peak Bike Bag. It slides in and off the bike rack mount. It even has a strap if I want to carry it as a bag. Today we went for a ride and I was able to pack all our yummy snacks in it. If you are looking for a honest local owned bike shop with awesome customer service and products run don't walk then you can ride your bike (:

Great local bike shop. Has a fair number of both new and used bikes for sale, and will buy back their kids bikes when you out grow them.

How much just to refill air in the tires?

Katie, we don't charge to add air to your inner tubes. Please stop in and let us help you get riding again.

Hello, the front tire of my bicycle has been replaced. Can it be repaired here?

We do help with bike flats, however we don't repair actual tires or patch inner tubes. We will replace inner tubes with new (purchase either from us or bring your own). We will replace your old worn out tires as well, with either your new tire or…

    Hi. Do you rent e-bikes?

We do! But, please call us to confirm availability for your specific size and date(s) : 925-828-8676.

Do you guys have electric bikes?

Yes - we carry e-bikes. We offer Aventon, Giant, Liv, Momentum & Rocky Mountain e-bikes.

I wanted to buy my bike from your shop but unfortunately there were no xxs in stock. I bought a Liv Langma from a shop far from Dublin. Was wondering if your shop offers professional bike fitting to fine tune the fit? I'm new to road cycling.

So sorry but we didn't see your question until April 2024! Hopefully you were able to get fine tuned on your fit! We do make adjustments on bikes, such as change out stem for a longer/shorter reach, etc.. If we can help out, please stop in with your…

    Do you rent bikes?

Yes, we have a few hybrids for rent - please call to check availability/size options.

Yes we sell bikes for kids. In fact, when your youngster outgrows his/her bike, we do trade-ins toward a bigger size.

Do you buy used high end bikes?

Sorry, no we don't buy bikes. We may consider taking a high-end bike as a trade-in towards a new purchase, depending on the brand & condition of bike.

Do they fit the bike according to your needs?

Rashmi - Absolutely - we fit a bike to your needs. We always ask what type of riding our customers would like to do - i.e. mountain, road, mix of both, etc.. and we suggest bikes based on what riding type, body size, and budget. Our customers…

It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. I'll definitely be back for future stringing and would recommend them to other tennis players.

As well as better quality since it's like a private owned business and not a public one. The service overall was good at this place as the employees were helpful with guiding us to find stuff we were looking for. As well as helping my brother find a new bike for him to ride after his old one fell apart. When it comes to value that is where the problems set in as to why I am giving this place a 4/5. Lot of the stuff in this store is expensive and I do mean EXPENSIVE. It could be close to like 120 dollars for a pair of shoes which seems to be way more than most other retailers. And most of the other equipment could range up to 200-300 dollars as well which can make it frustrating to figure out what to spend your money on depending on the need. At least the store has plenty of equipment to choose from, as well as a range for you test stuff out and other useful features for equipment you want to rent. But I would only go here as a last resort if you can't go to a Dick's or find good pricing.

On my first ride after I picked the bike up, the brake lines were full of air, enough so that my front brake was not really functional. When I brought it back to the shop, I also mentioned that the chain was skipping off the cogs under load in the higher gears. They took care of the brake problem, but I literally had to go back three times before they warrantied the cassette, which fixed the problem. They just kept adjusting the derailleur. I don't think they test rode it because they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I finally had them go out the back of the shop with me and ride along with me to show them how it skipped. The other issue was the bike started shutting off (it's an E bike) when I would hit rough sections on the trail. I had to take it back multiple times before they finally warrantied the battery and mounts. Each time I took it in they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I would go to start a ride and within a very short period the bike would shut down again. I get that this is a problem with the bike manufacturer and not the service department, but a quick search on Reddit revealed that this was a known problem and a warranty issue. It shouldn't have taken multiple visits and so much time with the bike in the shop to get it corrected. Most recently, I took it in to have the brake lines bled, and when I picked it up, one of the mechanics told me that the back brake was making noise. The service manager said that couldn't be anything they did they just bleed the brakes. However, when I got home, it sounded like a bagpipe every time I hit the brakes and it certainly didn't do that before I took it in. I think the brake pads got contaminated with brake fluid. Also, the retaining clips that keep the pin holding the brake pads from falling off were missing from both brake calipers. I called and spoke to the service manager. He told me that the clips aren't really necessary as long as you keep things tight. I asked if they had them in the shop and if I could come get them and he said he wasn't sure what part I was talking about and he would have to look at them. At that point, I just ordered a new brake pads and clips on Amazon and I'm done with this shop.
