Stopped here with the crew after a fantastic Zumba class with Renee at Fitness With a Purpose. We wanted to go out for coffee and it was right down the street. One of our friends had kids with us. BIG plus, kid friendly. Clean and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely go back and try the cardamon coffee. Had an interesting array of plants and descriptions around the walls. Great staff. Nice little cafe between Highland Park and White Center serving Stumptown coffee. As an added bonus, there's an area for the little ones to play with books & toys. Haven't tried many of the food items, but nothing looks to be prepared in-house, so I wouldn't have high expectations. Overall a great place to stop for a latte, with or without the kids. read more

I love Dubsea for being a welcoming space with friendly staff and a location that's easy to park by. In the winter months, I'll often end up at Dubsea grading because they're one of the few places in the West Seattle area that still offers food up until the evening. If you're planning on working but need quiet, this may not be the place for you, as there are often kids there and people chatting. (I like it for this feature, I must say.) They have tasty warm sandwiches and a positive vibe that's great for escaping to on a cool, rainy day. You might not find a super comfortable seat, but there's usually space to work and delicious lattes to enjoy! read more

Still love this place, still hooked on the cardamom latte. Note that they no longer have soy milk (for various reasons) but have totally convinced me that oat milk is the way to go. It's smooth and creamy and foams as well as soy or dairy milk. Prices have gone up some, but I don't mind because I love this place, the quality of the coffee, the friendliness of the baristas, and the great neighborhood feel. read more

Great coffee, great staff, great kids area to let us parents enjoy our coffee in relative peace, and a great local business with a bulletin board on a host of other local small businesses. This place is nice. Clean environment, urban- chic decor with good (Stumptown) coffee, vegan and non vegan treats, and decent. All in all a great local hangout, in a nice area in southwest Seattle. I recently moved back to the East coast from Seattle and the thing I miss the most (besides my friends, because I'm not a monster and also they'd be upset if I didn't list them first) is Dubsea. I know I can order Stumptown coffee online, or buy it at a coffee shop here that serves it, but it just isn't the same! Every single person that works there is always super friendly and makes quality drinks. They also have portable/quick, but delicious lunch food. I worked nearby and never had time to take a full lunch, so I'd stop by pretty much every day for a latte and sandwich. They are also super involved in the WC community, which is awesome. I love that they feature local artists on monthly rotation too. My next visit to Seattle, as soon as I get off the plane I'm heading to Dubsea for a cardamom latte!! If you haven't tried it yet, please go have one for me. read more

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in West Seattle! Try the frozen blended latte, it's the best I've had anywhere! They make it with cold brew and some other magic! The interior is very clean and modern. The space is perfect to catch up with friends or study since they have free WiFi. read more

I like the shop's vibe even though I just got takeout. The drink menu is plenty encompassing of coffee drinks and tea. More to offer than plenty of other coffee shops in that area. The barista Temneet didn't greet my husband and I when we walked in, no smile or nothing. She also didn't make coffee art for my latte where in pictures she makes that for everyone. To top it off the coffee wasn't good either. Also didn't ask if we want for here or to go just gave to go cups. I came here for the first time because it had 'five star reviews'. I concur....FINALLY! This place feels like a real neighborhood cafe, I see myself making many trips there to get through the drizzly cold days of winter. I have high hopes for Dubsea. My husband and I found this place accidentally while out for a walk today. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that I can now get a Morning Glory Chai without driving half way across town. The place itself is gorgeous, and looks a bit like a studio/gallery space with all of it's shiny newness. Speaking of art, the art installation was really well done, and I'm super picky when it comes to artwork. The barista was wonderful, equal parts skilled and friendly. I've been here a lot over the years. I'm actually not a coffee lover and only get coffee when my girlfriend wants (which is all the time so yeah). I usually get mocha's but I've since switched to vanilla latte's. I've had both here and they're delicious. The flavors are great and I've never gotten bitter or burnt tatsing coffee. The unfortunate thing is that they no longer carry Molly's sandwiches. We tried a breakfast burrito but it was dull and tasteless so I don't think we'll be getting food here anymore which is a shame. read more

So, I know White Center has a bad rap...having been dubbed rat city (due to it's extensive rat infestation back in the day)...being repeatedly snubbed by Seattle as a bid for annexation.. I think I even remember one of the weeklies writing an article about how "downtown" white center turns virtually into sin city come nightfall (porn shops, prostitutes, drug transactions, gang activity, etc.). I myself never witnessed any crime activity even during my frequent bus-riding days throughout my college years. Although I admit that that may all be true at one time or another.. Even so, I still have a weak spot for this little community. Mexican and Khmer business establishments abound.. Jubilee festivals each summer.. the traveling amusement park that visits each year setting up shop in the abandoned lots back in the day...the sounds of raucous cheers from the stadium nearby heard from great distances. I've watched this community evolve and grow so much from year to year. And so glad to see Dubsea spring up in the midst of this new growth. I give this place props for choosing white center as its home - a seemingly unlikely and daring decision on the owner's part for sure. And I'm glad to see that this place isn't just another attractive little coffee shop. It's really embedded itself into the community.. Holding open mike nights, art gallery events, baby meetups (cute!), and screening films for kids. But don't mistake Dubsea's do-gooding for wimpiness on any fronts.. This place definitely serves coffee that will satisfy even the most critical of coffee guzzlers or the early morning bus commuters. And my, my, my... the interior is a minimalist's dream. Industrial cork-screw stools (my favorite), simple concrete floors and wood furnishings and benches... wide open spaces (in a coffee shop?? unheard of!), and windows that span practically from floor to ceiling keeping the place bright even on the gloomiest and rainiest of Seattle days. Aaaaaah.... Prices are reasonable. Food is available for those who like to munch while they sip. The barista I encountered was friendly and unpretentious.. and smiled at me which made me blush. ;) Four stars because I don't feel like I've tried all they've had to offer enough for me to rate higher.. but honestly, this is one of the best coffee shops I've tried in Seattle. Love the modern hipster look of this place that has some character to it. This is in a nice hood and everyone that seems to be in here are locals which added to the charm. Everyone was super friendly to us when we sat down. It was nice and relaxing way, away from business to just sip and shoot the shit with friends. I had a mint tea and a pastry and my partner in crime had a cardamom latte. He was convinced to get this drink after another location behind us raved to us. I've never had one of these and took a sip of his and it made my mint tea look sad. I wish they would make something like this here. The customer service was amazing and prices are fair market value compared to other coffee shops. read more

Staff are always friendly here but I find this cafe a bit pricey. I guess it's on par with Starbucks or any big chain. I bought a cookie and it costs me about $4 but that's about how much a cookie runs for now huh? Coffee is just ok. Still the 4 star is for the service. Nice place to get some work done. An 8oz cardamom latte was 3.85, it was alright- I enjoyed trying something unique though i wish it were spicier. There were plenty of seats, outlets, wifi, nice open atmosphere, and a sweet spot for kids to play. Bathroom was clean and bright. The baristas were also very nice. Service was a bit slow but hopefully just because they were carefully handcrafting my drink! I would come back to do work here again. read more

Dubsea is a nice neighborhood cafe. I had a cappuccino which was very basic. I couldn't taste anything particularly special about the coffee. I would come here to grab a coffee for its functionality versus the taste. With that being said, the cafe has a very nice ambience. It has glass walls all around which allows natural light to fill the space. There's a solid amount of in/out traffic. If you're hoping to do work that requires heavy wifi usage, I would not recommend this cafe; it took a while to load a regular webpage. With that being said, it's completely possible that someone there was just sucking up all the bandwidth. I would recommend this cafe if you need a spot to meet someone or to get some work done. read more

My boyfriend has been coming here for about 5 years now, he first introduced me to Dubsea about 2 years ago, back when Starbucks was my regular place. Now I loooooove Dubsea, I dread going anywhere else. The baristas are always friendly, my boyfriend and I would spend HOURS here (like literally 7 HOURS) and none of the staff bothered us and politely would remind us of closing time (Oops, sorry Shane ). When there's not a huge line (sometimes there is a line in the mornings, but that's to be expected with a place that serves bomb coffee) my order only takes a minute or two. They also have local artists that they feature in their shop which is really nice! It seems as though every time I walk in there I find something new. Dubsea is and will forever be my favorite. read more

If I see that person at the register next time I won't go in. I am 55 years old and don't need to be treated this way. read more
