Who knew donuts could bring the biggest smiles to a team of folks that needed a morale booster? This morning, I picked up eight dozen beautiful little round pieces of joy for our amazing team. The donuts were warm, packaged and ready to go when I arrived at my appointed time. So, I was able to get to the office early with a sweet surprise in time to beat the run to the cafeteria. The team went on and on about the maple bacon donuts. They were the fan favorite. But, by the end of the morning, just about all of the donuts had disappeared. This is my first experience with Duck Donuts. But, it will not be my last. I will have to bless our team again and grab some for the family. Outside of Just Fine donuts in Alexandria, Duck Donuts is the cat's meow! Happy eating!

We were picking this up for a clinic that had helped my mother recently and said they love this spot. We'd never been since they don't have gluten free options but we're so impressed. It's super clean inside and the woman making the doughnuts was a GEM!! She explained how they're made fresh to order and that hot and fresh delivery has made them super popular. They're a wonderful hostess gift and worth checking out !!

Sooo phenomenal. I love their cake donuts with such awesome topping options too. This location has a giant iPad screen you can use for ordering which is pretty handy to use. They make the orders pretty fast. Restaurant is small but clean

Very cool and unique concept of creating your own donut to order. They're not gourmet, but definitely hit that sweet tooth craving just right. Additionally, they're served warm and gooey. Not a place that you'd dine in/hang out, but it's in a plaza with plenty of public seating to do just that. I'll come back once in a blue moon.

Passed by here on a whim and decided to try. Inside is inviting and the staff was attentive and nice. There was no line or wait on a Saturday so I was helped rather quickly. I opted for the blueberry lemonade and cinnamon sugar donut. The blueberry lemonade wasn't very good, I wouldn't recommend. Tasted like a plain donut with a bunch of frosting on it. The cinnamon sugar was better, but again nothing special.

It's kind of neat that they make the hot donut right in front of you. The hot donut with chocolate icing though was just okay. I wouldn't try another chocolate donut, but maybe would try another. The donut was very fluffy. Not the cheapest for a single donut either. There's some outside seating but not much room inside.

    Delicious 6-pack.

Duck donuts are fantastic and easy to bring into your life. You can order through Yelp and have delightful donuts of your choice delivered to your house via GrubHub. Ordering was easy. The donuts arrived as expected about 35 minutes later and wow, were they good. I ordered a customized half dozen of my Fall favorites and they were well worth the time and money. I can't even pick a favorite, they were all so delicious. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thanks!

I call BS. Paid an extra $1 for the "premium" sprinkle. 1 gummy worm.

I've had duck donuts before down south. It's very excited to try this out here. I have my nephews with me and I always think it's fun that they can create their own doughnut. The warm cake like donut with custom yummy toppings. It's a go too place. HOWEVER, I am super peeved that I got charged one whole dollar for one gummy worm. It's a good product.

The one downside is that they close at 7pm -- more than once I've tried to open their locked front door, when I look at my clock and see it's 7:01! Such a bummer. Their donuts are delicious though, and made fresh when you order. We love it here, it's such a special treat. I usually order the coconut donut or a maple donut. Their French toast donut is great too. This location is fun because there's a bunch of other fun restaurants nearby, so you could start with sushi or pizza and end with donuts. The perfect time! (As long as you're there before 7pm...)

Oily doughnut + sickly sweet toping = gross. I only made it this far before tossing the rest into the trash.

Never in my long life have I ever left a doughnut to go uneaten... until today. I stopped here on a whim, ordered a Midnight Madness, took two bites, and tossed the rest in the trash. The doughnut was oily. The topping tasted like it contained massive amounts of artificial sweetener. All-in-all, not what I was expecting.

I first tried Duck Donuts several years ago, but I wasn't too impressed. Could've been because I had gotten one with custom toppings and I prefer plain. When National Donut Day came up I gave them another try. This time, I ordered a plain cake donut. I loved it! This is a small location, but they make all the donuts fresh in the shop! You can see them being made, then onto the toppings bar. The staff were helpful and the store was clean. What I liked is that you could get hot, fresh donuts minutes after ordering. They tasted like a good pancake, but slightly heavier. Donuts are a little pricey. A little more than $2, but if once in awhile, it's worth it for a good, hot donut.

I heard so much about duck donuts I was very excited to try it. Donuts are made fresh to order which is a rarity these days I feel. Although I was not overly impressed but it also not disappointed. The flavors were not as powerful as I expected them to be but the texture was great with the slight crunch on the outside and a steamy buttery soft inside.

Don't tell me about Krispy Kreme's trash donuts - they are depressing. Duck Donuts are *the* best donuts from a brick and mortar store in the DMV area. Truly outstanding. They come right off the conveyor belt so they're warm (or even hot, depending), and the batter makes for a slightly chewier donut. Very good.

I'm still not quite sure how I feel about having a reservation and not getting a table... but I'll move right along. :) Once we settled in at the bar, the experience was enjoyable. We had mimosas and lemonade, both pretty good, and ordered a nice variety of food. We tried Ruthie's Breakfast, the cornbread, biscuits, deviled eggs, and beignets. Everything was good and satisfying, and the cornbread was definitely worth trying. Despite the seating situation, we enjoyed our brunch and there's enough variety on the menu that I'd come back to sample some of the other dishes. Just be prepared for a crowd, especially during brunch!

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

That thoughtfulness is one of the many reasons I was excited to try it. When we arrived, I was initially concerned after learning that the "G" on the menu indicated dishes **containing** gluten rather than being gluten-free. Since many menu items were marked with a "G," I worried my options would be very limited, especially for the unlimited brunch experience. Thankfully, our server, Emma, immediately put me at ease. She brought me the food allergy menu, answered my questions with patience, and made sure I understood what was safe for me to enjoy. While my husband and I were deciding whether to stay, the manager, Antonio, came to our table after Emma shared my dietary concerns. His kindness completely changed the experience. He took the time to explain my options, offered to have the kitchen modify several dishes, and reassured me that their goal was for me to feel safe and enjoy my meal. Thanks to Emma and Antonio, what started with uncertainty became one of the most enjoyable brunch experiences I've had. I was able to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes, the mimosas were a great value, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light. What I'll remember most, though, is how genuinely cared for I felt. Before we left, Antonio stopped by one last time to make sure I was happy with my meal and that all of my needs had been met. My husband had put so much love and intention into choosing this restaurant, and thanks to Emma and Antonio, we both left with happy hearts and full bellies. If you have food intolerances or dietary restrictions, I hope this review gives you confidence to visit Ambar. Their team didn't just accommodate my needs. The staff was wonderful, especially our server Noah, who was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. We did the bottomless dinner, and the value is honestly unbeatable. We tried the grilled gem lettuce, marinated cucumbers, street corn, hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns, P22 cheeseburger sliders, spicy shrimp & pancetta pizza, funghi pizza, dan dan noodles, rigatoni norcina, and the sesame steak skewers. Everything was delicious, but the standouts were the dan dan noodles (rich, savory, and packed with flavor), the funghi pizza (crispy with earthy mushrooms and perfectly melted cheese), and the sesame steak skewers (tender, juicy, and coated in a flavorful sesame glaze). The hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with melt-in-your-mouth pork, while the rigatoni norcina was creamy, comforting, and perfectly cooked. The grilled gem lettuce was also a fresh, flavorful way to start the meal. For drinks, the white sangria and pomegranate ginger mocktail were both refreshing and delicious. Dessert didn't disappoint either, the flourless chocolate cake (with candied pecans instead of hazelnuts) was rich without feeling too heavy, and the churros were light, crispy, and perfect with the caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. We finished with cappuccinos, which were the perfect ending to the meal. 10/10 experience, we'll definitely be back!
