My first time here . I ordered a maple bacon donut ant two glazed donuts . The young lady at the register asked me do I have a name I assumed it was for the order. So I tell her my name is Brian. The total comes to 8.38. I pull out a fifty dollar bill. And this young lady tells me that this establishment doesn't take fifty dollar bills. No signs in the store about large bills or anything. Well I should've asked for the manager and explain. With banks going bankrupt. I decided to just pull my cash out and and pay for what I wanted in cash. However if you cater to your customers per se running a business. You would do well to at least have a sign about bills you take. Not everyone uses bank cards . Or credit cards. read more

Kind of expensive, but can't argue with the quality, nor the assembly line method. Whoever invented this chain is going to be rich(if they aren't already). Lots of options, almost too many, I was at a loss when it was finally my turn to order. I had to pick out 6 for some friends. I could decide on 4 and just asked the cashier to pick her favorite other 2. It wasn't exactly quick, but the place was slammed, so it was a reasonable amount of time before they served me. They made sure that it was the right order and sent me on my way. I had to drive 2 hours with these things in the care, somehow I was able to resist. We sampled them all, and they were all quite tasty. I'm not really a sweets person, but will still highly recommend. read more

First timer at Duck's and overall it was pretty good. They had social distancing set up and for the most part, the guests inside were following the guidelines. My biggest gripe was the ordering process. We're 6ft apart in line and there are some donut options on the wall but then when you get closer or at the counter, there are other menus and seasonal ones. I know you can make your own and these are all suggestions, but as a first timer, I got to the counter and felt like I was holding up the line figuring out what I wanted. Plus there's other coffee drinks etc... on posters around the place. Just give me one central menu that has all the options so I don't miss out on anything. I see in other photos that they have ordering sheets and that would be helpful but nowhere to be found when I was in. We ordered a six pack and some coffees. The cake donuts come fresh off the assembly line and head to the topping station. It's cool to see them make each donut by hand and make you want to eat them that much more. One of the coffee's was screwed up but we were sitting at a table outside so it was a quick fix. All the donuts were pretty good with my favorite being the chocolate and coconut. We've been hearing a lot of hype about Duck Donuts from some friends and since we were in the area we decided to drop in. We've tried other gourmet donut shops in different areas of California and Arizona, but Duck Donuts is different in that the donuts are made to order. So while the donuts are creative (maple bacon, etc) like other gourmet shops, at Duck Donuts they make them right in front of you! This is great for the kids as they're able to watch their delicious treat being made right in front of them. We ordered a dozen (maple bacon, apple streusel, blueberry with lemon drizzle, peanut butter with hot fudge drizzle, s'mores, etc) and had to sample some right on the spot. With them being made to order, they were still warm and basically melt in your mouth....soooo good! If I were to have a complaint, it's that the donuts are too small, but that's probably because they are so good and I just wanted them to be bigger. In the end I guess my waistline will be happy they aren't oversized ;) read more

Let me start out with, I LOVE DUCK DONUTS BUTTTTTTTTTT, Giving a two star because the place was EMPTY besides myself and one other gentleman. I ordered my donuts an hour and half prior to arriving. My donuts said they were made and ready for pick up. I got to the store. The donuts were not ready or even made at all. The one girl at the register was very kind and soft spoken but the girl making my donuts seemed very irritated that I was concerned about where my donuts might be and how long it would be until they were ready since they were "ready" supposedly 45 minutes ago... Moral of the story/review , use your best judgment. I cannot deal with this girls attitude. I literally had to walk out...if that says anything. We love this town and the surrounding areas but please hire more kind people. read more

Nice employees, clean place, good variety. I made a custom donut with chocolate frosting, oreo topping, and sea salt caramel drizzle. I couldn't really taste the sea salt caramel but overall the donut was hot and good. Note these are cake donuts - so if you love Krispy kreme hot now yeast donuts you might feel slightly let down. Excellent donuts! I am a donut lover, I mean a good cakey but not dense, perfectly sweetened with great toppings donut lover! The donut was amazing, I ate it literally 3 hours after being made and it was delicious! They make the donuts when you order, you customize the icing and toppings. All donuts are a vanilla batter. I chose caramel icing and bacon pieces for my topping. Divine!! My girls ordered various combinations and we all loved them!!i can't wait to visit again. Oh and the cashier was very helpful and nice. I just ordered from these guys today on line. Never been to a Duck Donuts, but I heard the nurses and techs talking about them during my daily radiation treatment, so I thought I'd treat them to a dozen today. WOW! First of all, the service is wonderful. I came in to pick up my prescription-ordered dozen, but the nice woman at the counter walked me through ordering one for myself. And the young man in charge of putting my dozen together did a bang up job! Great icing/toppings and the doughnuts are delicious. I came in to grab a dozen donuts to take to the hubs at work for his last of 3 twelve hour shifts. I had heard all the rage and was excited to check it out myself. When I walked in I was promptly greeted and since I was in a bit of a hurry to make it to the hubs work quickly, I didn't grab the paper and pencil by the door with options on it. I would recommend doing that especially if you're getting a dozen, but also they have combinations that they have put together at the front counter which are helpful. For example, right now they have a handful of fall combinations. I think as far as donuts go, much of it is just preference, but these are really good soft on the inside with a little crisp on the outside. They are very different than say Krispy Kreme that are super soft melt in your mouth. Both are good in different ways. I do find all the options a fun idea at Duck Donuts! read more

Duck Donuts on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard in West Ashley is one of my favorite places to go for donuts in the area as I really enjoy the different flavors and variety that they have available. I like seeing the process of the donuts being made behind the counter and eating them on site. The staff here is very friendly and works hard to make sure that you get exactly what you want. I went during the Corona Virus days and was very careful to stay to myself. I thought the donuts were good. I got a wide variety in my dozen. The one with Blueberry flavor on it was fantastic. I am not a huge fan of Maple flavor but still got a couple of those and after trying remembered, not a huge fan. The one with the lucky charms which is just a St Pats one was a bad purchase on my part. After St Pats day and the sales person told me it was great. Not! It was pretty stale actually which makes sense. And it was not just the charms but the actual cereal which is what really made it not so good. Overall I was happy that I got the donuts there and their service was very good. I like their system. I will be back and will order differently next time. When I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the many choices. Since the donuts are topped to order, there are only pictures to look at to make your choices. I stuck to flavor combinations I new I liked. These fried cake like donuts are light and just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered a dozen with 6 different flavors. My favorite was the blueberry iced with lemon drizzle. The coffee was amazing! Best coffee I've had around, but the donuts were absolutely disgusting. It was like biting into a wet sponge. The frosting tasted like it may have been decent, but the donuts felt extremely undercooked on the inside. I got one with jelly on top, and the jelly tasted very good. However, I wouldn't recommend ordering the jelly topped donuts, since they just lay it on top of the hole and it immediately falls through the hole when you pick it up. read more

Best donut place anywhere, hands down. There's "that one place" in Mt. P, it's OK at best. Donut Connection in Goose Creek is very good to be sure, and until last weekend was my local favorite. But Duck is where it's at. There's a tiny little donut machine / robot. It ploops out batter into a small fryer and out pop cake donuts. They are definitely cakier than what you get at Krispy Kreme. And they're hot, and the outside is crispy. I enjoy them plain, which is how the bacon/egg/cheese sandwich is served. Yup, on a hot donut. It's amazing. Anyway, they take these fresh hot donuts and then make them to order. There is a menu of a couple dozen "favorites" from which to choose, or just mix-n-match. Either way, one of their staff will make your stuff to order, right in front of you so you can watch. In a quick minute you get your order, hot and fresh. And it is amazing. The staff is cool. They have a handful of good drip coffees on hand, and can make espresso drinks. Usual cooler with bottled stuff, and they have hot teas + simple syrup. I went in and instantly was hit by the smell of sugar. **inhales but never exhales** the place was spotless and organized and I was greeted by a friendly woman named Indya. Her customer service was spot on and I enjoyed talking to her about all things manis and pedis. Today started off at 6:30am. Made a large cup of coffee and hit the road for some of these donuts before a beach trip. Felt like we drove forever, but that's because we did. Upon walking into the peacefully quiet establishment somewhere about 7:30 I was overwhelmed. It was like I was a child again (this weekend) and was at Toys-R-Us with to many choices and not enough Geoffrey Bucks. Fortunately the wise one behind the counter showed up the picture menu, advised us of prices (individual and per half dozen), and then said "Don't forget to choose a Duckie". THEY SELL RUBBER DUCKIES!! $2!!!! So, basically after inhaling four of the six within 2/3rds of a mile from the shop I am of the firm belief that any donut from this establishment will make you wanna go back and buy another Rubber Duckie.
