Location is hidden but I decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere is ok. It isn't spruced up and just a normal vibe. The food is very good. I like mole that is not on the sweet side but more on the spicy side (like it is served in Mexico). This place is it and the only place in Lake County where I've been able to find it this way. I would frequent this place for the mole alone! Two thumbs up! I've also tried their fish tacos and they are outstanding. Shrimp cocktail is also very good. I prefer larger shrimp but the taste is good. The chips are light and crispy. Outstanding! Please note that 1 serving of chips is included but additional is $1.50 extra. Well worth it. Had this for the first time this week. Very nice customer service! Wanted the special 1 dollar taco Tuesday's but you can't get flour tortilla i figured lame but most places only charge maybe. 25 cents more for that , not here they charge you regular price which is a downfall. The food was good the beef taco very very very greasy but the horchata and the guac was delicious. Overall we will order from them again but the pricing is a little to high for what you get. Portions should be bigger for the prices . Example a adult size quesadilla should be under $5 . The large guac and chips , which isn't that large should be under $6 and so forth . Taco tuesday.. 1.00 for shredded chicken or ground beef. Posole soup lacked flavour but had alot of meat and hominy so it was a tease that broth had no flavour. The shredded chicken tacos were great for price and quality and taste of chicken was spicy good. I got them with cilantro and onions only cause that is my favorite way to eat them my coworkers were upset they charge extra for cheese but they should otherwise restaurant will go broke. I love this place. Being newer to the area, we didn't know which Mexican place to try. We tried a few others but very close to the house this is the best one. It's not fancy inside but this isn't a fine dining place. The food is good, the staff is always friendly and helpful. In true Yelper fashion, I happened to be in the area & opted to find a place to grab a bite to eat via Yelp! So glad that I did! Fast, delicious and great, attentive service. I had the baja fish tacos. They were fantastic. I also ordered a chicken chimichanga. It was delicious as well however, I think that I would have enjoyed it much more without the refried beans. The customer service was really great, I'd give customer service 4ish stars (-1 star for watching videos at the hostess station). I went with my spouse, we both grabbed a few tacos and shared nachos. Our cat was being treated at the Animal Hospital next door and after several hours we were getting hungry. My wife is a vegetarian so McDonald's was not really an option. We saw quite a few people coming in and out of Acapulco Restaurant (now known as Dulce Margaritas) so we decided to give it a try. There were numerous vegetarian options available on the menu, which was much appreciated. We were very impressed and pleased with the food. I had the carne asada burrito - it was a decent size and was hefty. What was most pleasing was that I had steak in every bite, not a ton of rice like at many places. Both my burrito and my wife's veggie torta were full of flavor, very, very filling and very reasonably priced. This is the only Mexican food restaurant in the area that I go to or order from. The food is impeccable and the prices are just right. My friend loves the Mole Enchiladas and Tacos. I'm an enchilada lover and they do them just right. My friend complains that the other restaurants are too "greasy" or not good enough. This place is the best. I honestly don't get the love for this place. I've been there twice because the first time wasn't that bad although my girlfriend begs to differ. I like to try a place at least twice and the taco Tuesday deal is good pricing. We only went there on recommendations from her coworkers who are local. While the food is OK at best, they consistently get the orders wrong, the place is dingy and dirty and the overall service is awful. Attitudes from the waitresses are a joke. I feel like the locals like this place because they don't know any better. We moved up here from the city and most of the Mexican restaurants there embarrass this place in all aspects. Great food. I'm from California where there's a Mexican food place every 10 feet. I've had some of the best and some of the worst Mexican food in Cali. I haven't really had a chance to sample some of the surprisingly large amount of Mexican food restaurants in Lake County. But Puerto Acapulco is as good as just about any of my favorite Mexican food joints in California. The carne asada burrito suiza was delicious. And the chicken quesadilla was amazing. My wife loved her carne asada burrito as well. They did, however, mess up my very simple order. But the quality more than made up for it. I can't wait to try more of their food. Very friendly service. Decor is rather chintzy but what do you want from a hole in the wall kind of place? I've enjoyed both their steak dishes. One is served with onions/green pepper and the other with a tomato pineapple sauce. The steak dishes are also served with lettuce, tomatoe and tortillas (sort of like DIY tacos). Both dishes were delicious. The portions are ample and the price is reasonable. If you dine in you get chips and salsa, both of which are extremely fresh. Not understanding the four stars. My husband had to get up and get napkins for us and no plates were brought for the chips and salsa, which tasted like bland, canned tomato sauce. Puerto Acapulco has really good Mexican food. I order from here pretty regularly and still will. A funny thing happened the last time I ordered a steak torta with an al pastor taco over the phone. Went there, picked it up then got home. The torta was in the bag but the taco wasnt. I thought "thats weird, oh well" then ate my torta. About two bites in I noticed that the torta was more tasty than usual. It turns out that I got something better than what I originally ordered. A steak/al pastor w/avocado torta. I found this place on accident because I wanted Tacos and my normal place wasn't open for some reason. I ordered a quesa-taco and salsa. YUM! What a combination. The only reason its not a 5 star is because the chips were too greasy for me and the salsa had zero spice, tasted like tomato soup. I added the red sauce and it tasted so much better. I will definitely be back! And good prices too! read more
