Pork and Chives Dumplings - very good! Not as good as Jeng Chi but still yummy.

Really liked this place! I had the lunch special for $12.99 which included hot and sour soup (delicious!), an egg roll, and a choice of American-Chinese cuisine (I had orange chicken, there was general Tsao's, that sort of thing). However they also had xiao long bao, a variety of pan fried and steamed dumplings, and other authentic fare. I liked it so much I ended up ordering an entire meal for my family for later I ordered traditional soup dumplings, pan fried shrimp and pork dumplings, chicken chow mein, took my leftovers (which was a lot!), and an order of their own design, chocolate soup dumplings! I have bamboo steam baskets at home so it was easy to reheat things. My family raved and my kids gobbled it up. I sat near the owner who was the absolute nicest - he is French and his partner/girlfriend is from Hong Kong. They just took it over 4 months ago and made some nice changes to the inside and menu changes as well. The kitchen staff is still the same. Go try it!!

First time here and I loved how cozy it felt. It was a smaller restaurant but everything ran smoothly. Food was fresh and delicious. It wasn't busy at all but the staff was still excellent and fast with everything.

had a good time visiting dumpling house for the first time recently! the food was tasty and and great for sharing as a family. each dish comes portioned for roughly one person, but the entrees in my opinion are quite large, so excellent for ordering for the table and sharing. right off the bat there's plenty of nice seating and the staff are very nice and attentive. they have large tables for families and fun decor around the restaurant! items: * crispy spicy chicken - best item that i had, i really enjoyed the consistency of the fried chicken bites and how much chicken came with the plate. wasn't too spicy, but good taste! * chicken soup dumplings - lots of filling and came out nice and warm! enjoyed this seasonal item * beef and onion dumplings (pan fried) - i think the beef and onion filling was a bit close-textured for my taste, but was still good! * kung pao chicken - i typically like my kung pai chicken with a bit fattier chicken and less vegetables, but the sauce was good! * fried rice - tasted great! i'd definitely opt to add it on as a substitution for the white rice. overall: 8.5/10 taste: 8/10 price: 9/10 nice family-style chinese restaurant in the area!

I've been here years ago and it's still very good! We ordered the pork with chives pan fried dumplings(very tasty and crispy)! We saw that they had a lunch special with come with soup and spring roll! I had the sesame chicken (there were too much sauce but it was tasty), my husband had the Mongolian beef which had way too much sauce, the portion was huge, a lot more than my sesame chicken! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful! I would definitely go back and tried other entrees!

The dumpling skin is too doughy and thick. It wasn't good in general. Quality of the meat inside was okay. It didn't have flavor except for the little kick of ginger inside. The reason why it's called soup dumplings is because there is suppose to be soup inside. There in fact was none. I did a take out so that could be the reason it was so poor quality. The place didn't have many customers so I do find it odd that it was so badly made. The person I took the call from for the takeout seemed to not know how to respond to a caller? I wouldn't even recommend it to a foreigner.

Every bite is so fresh and delicious in every dish we've ever tried here. Even the rice somehow tastes better than anywhere else. Seafood, veggies, spices, soup dumplings, fried and steamed dumplings, garlic pepper shrimp, everything was just so unbelievably tasty. This place is fail-proof! And the chocolate dumplings are worth the trip alone!

I went to try this Chinese Dumpling House hidden inside a mini mall on West Parker Road, Plano TX. I ordered Mongolian Beef from their lunch menu with white rice, hot and sour soup and egg roll included. The beef were thinly sliced and sautéed in onions and hosein sauce. It's delicious . Serving Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is not fully lighted, kind a dark during lunchtime. But area is clean and well decorated. I will try handmade buns next time.

Really good food and its affordable would recommend. I got a bunch of things like braised pork noodles and popcorn chicken but the soup dumplings are amazing

Very aesthetically pleasing, service was great and attentive, good location, I've been to several different dumping locations and unfortunately this is one of the ones that I didn't like. The soup dumplings were not good tasting, the walnut shrimp had too much mayonnaise and the shrimps were low quality, the cucumber salad had a ginger flavor instead of a garlic flavor but maybe that's they way it was supposed to be just not good in flavor. The green onion pancakes were delicious and the fried pork chive dumplings were good. Thanks for the experience.

The food is always 11/10. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it'd be their spicy green beans.

Happy I found a place I like in Plano. The Lo Mein was flavorful and very garlicky (might not be everyone's cup of tea), but a tad salty. The dumplings were amazing! The dough wasn't too thick, the filling was delicious and juicing, and the pan fried crust was perfectly done. Service was fast and friendly and parking was easy to come by.

Always trying to support small businesses, we made a stop at Dumpling House. We tried a variety of things from the menu, which was all a bit lackluster. Beef pancakes: 3/5 lots of soup inside and crispy on the outside! Wish it was a little more flavorful but overall pretty decent Beef rolls: 2/5 not bad! It could just use some more sauce and could be fried a little crispier Braised beef noodle soup: 2/5 broth was too salty and lacked depth in flavor. Noodles were ok but nothing special. Would recommend skipping this and getting some other options on the menu Soup dumplings (pork): 2/5 decent filling and had a lot of soup inside! But not very rich in flavor and the wrappers were much too thick String beans with minced pork: 5/5 easily the best dish we got! Hard to go wrong, and there was a lot of pork bits to add to the flavor! House signature handmade bao: 3/5 these were definitely one of the better things on the menu! Felt homemade but not particularly memorable. Overall, somewhat decent food, and the staff was exceptionally kind! Maybe we just didn't order the right things!

Do you have lunch specials on weekdays?

Yes we have lunch specials Monday-Friday (closed on Wednesdays). The entrees are served with a choice of white or fried rice with hot and sour soup and an egg roll. A great value for the quality of food!!

Do we need reservations? Planning on coming tonight (Wednesday) to celebrate an anniversary.

You do not but if it is for a large party I probably would call and give a heads up.

What items on the menu are vegan? Can items be made vegan?

I am sure from the standpoint of being a Chef in the past that most any items can be made vegan if they are already not. The pancakes for example may have egg in them as a binder so that is out, and while the dumpling and bun wrappers may not have…

We were greeted right away and the restaurant is welcoming with an assortment of booths and some large round tables. The server was friendly and she provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the steamed dumplings which were honestly middle of the road and we the weakest part of our meal. The entrees were uniformly outstanding. We had the Beef Chow Fun which tasted great and was less oily than versions we have had elsewhere. We also had the combination crispy noodles which were well prepared with tender beef and some great shrimp. We capped it off with the General Tso which was delicious. Yes, completely inauthentic but so tasty!! This restaurant is absolutely one of the best Chinese spots in the DFW area. Highly Reccommended!

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
