Beware... I saw this on TikTok and it was NOT anything like din tai fung or dough zone. I saw pictures and videos of this place and read review. It's so fake please beware. SMELL... the smell in here is overwhelming it's musty and gross. Smells like an old person home. The food.... Tastes like frozen from Trader Joe's at best. Some of it is even worse. Maybe the smell wasn't helping but yikes. The meat was in this tight little ball and slide out of a slimey casing. I ordered the most popular stuff, I was not getting too out there. I agree with some of the other reviews that it tasted old and frozen. I'm shocked by the owners claims of it being made fresh daily. It just cannot be the case with some of what I ordered. The service was not great either. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this. I am not one to rank a small business poorly but I feel customers should know about the issues with this place. Upon arriving my boyfriend and I were promptly seated, and provided with both the menu and a sheet to mark what we wanted to order. The staff, although kind were not very attentive as far as taking our order or checking to see if we had any questions or how we liked our food. Each time we wanted to order something we had to try to find someone to help. To my delight, there were so many vegan options to choose from. We ordered a few options to share. Each dish had lots of flavor and tasted fresh. One highlight I also did greatly appreciate was the abundance of vegetables that they use in each dish, which you don't typically get at other places. Things came out one by one - we shared everything so it wasn't an issue. My word of advice is if you're hesitant about coming here but still low key want to try it, order one or two dishes to see if you like it before doubling down and over ordering because your eyes are bigger than your stomach! The interior design was cute and they had nice utensils and serving dishes. Is this what Chinese food taste like?! Sooo good! We're visiting from Florida and all we have there is Chinese takeout. So the Chili the beef Lamen was sooo good!! Thick, wide noodles with a little chew/doughiness. It wasn't too spicy... just a hint to notice it which was perfect for me. It had a little nutty/peanut butter taste to the juice in it. The dumpling and buns had great flavor! The beef rice noodles were too soft and didn't have the same flavor as the Leman. The restaurant doesn't have a big menu but it gives enough variety We ordered a lot appetizers to share, seasoned fried chicken, Bulgogi Dumpling, Tofu Pancake Roll, Beef Pancake Roll and spicy beef dry noodle. One of the fried chicken piece was not fully cooked and it was still raw. Friendly reminder to every customer- if you get a big piece, please make sure it's fully cooked before you start eating. I let the waitress know and she apologized and refunded us. Despite the undercooked chicken accident, everything else was great. I came here as a replacement for not being able to get a reservation at din tai fung, and I was pleasantly surprised! I think the highlight of this place is the quality-to-affordability ratio. Ultimately I think I prefer din tai fung in terms of overall food and atmosphere quality, but this place was so much cheaper and almost as good. When my partner and I went vegetarian a few years ago, one of the few things we missed were dumplings. This restaurant had a number of vegan options and we were especially impressed by vegan wontons in spicy sauce, organic vegan dumpling, and steamed shiitake vegan buns. Although not a dumpling, we tried the kale salad with sesame dressing and it was so good we ordered another bowl so we didn't have to share. I would also like to call out the service because while the restaurant was getting pretty busy, the food came out quickly and the staff kept an eye on our drinks and checked in on us. We used to love this place. Eating their spicy and sour beef lamen was like being transported to another time and place. So incredibly good! Their dumplings were interesting, not legit. But still fun to order and eat. Then something happened a year or so ago and their soup base completely changed. Now it tastes like Americanized beef noodle soup like the rest of their Americanized dumplings. It reminds of me of Americanized Chinese food from the 90s but updated for 2020+. I was telling the waiter the soup is not sour and he said why don't you add in some vinegar. Dude if I could do that I would be eating at home. Yeah, this place lived up to the hype. I first learned of it on IG when the TwoSeattleGirls posted a reel about how amazing it is, plus affordable, and I'd have to agree. I also liked the backstory of an electrical engineering UDUB student who missed the flavors of his hometown in Beijing. Very enticing. I'm glad we gave it a shot on the Lunar New Year; we'll be back because the vibes were so chill here. I was surprised by how low-key this place is with the various articles and lines out the door for this place. This is a must-try in the city for dumplings and those hand-pulled chewy lamen noodles. If I lived in the area, I'd probably get takeout most nights from this place; glad I'm all the way in Belltown :) If you eat in house, try to get on the waitlist asap; otherwise, you'll be waiting a while. We had multiple dumplings, the JaJang Beef Pancake Roll to start, and the Chili the Beef Lamen. We ended up devouring the lamen; it was so chewy, the meat melted like butter, and the sauce was top-notch, not spicy at all, IMO. We dipped the pancake in the sauce and ate it that way; the pancake was surprisingly so filling on its own so just be aware of that! The dumplings: Bok Choy Mushroom - was the freaking best! Bad value at $10 for 7 pieces. 4/5 -JaJang Tofu Pancake Roll ($9.95 plus tax; vegan) - this dish was like an Asian wrap, like a classic Northern potato roll. The wrap came with fried pastry coated with hoi sin sauce, stuffed with firm tofu and various veggies. Very oily, fried, but damn delicious. 4.5/5 -Kale in Sesame Dressing ($6.55 plus tax; vegan) - fresh bunch of kale coated in a nice sesame sauce, sort of like a Chinese version of goma-ae but with raw, unwilted kale. We showed up without a reservation around 6:15 on a Saturday night so had to wait a little over 30 minutes but that's to be expected and now I know to make a reservation. Now on to the important stuff, food! We ordered: Pork dumplings- 5/5, flavorful, not too thick of a wrappe Scallion pancakes-3/5, lacked a bit of flavor but still yummy Garlic tofu lumen noodles- 5/5, hand pulled noodles in such a yummy sauce. These were great the next day as well Vegan buns-4/5, I'm not a vegetarian or mushroom person but these were yummy! Crispy Chicken wontons - 3/5, probably wouldn't order again. They were fine but didn't stand out Staff was friendly but it's not a restaurant where you chat with the staff much and we did have to flag them down for the check after a little bit. This is an optimistic 5 Stars. I've sampled only a limited set of dishes, but so far very good! I was there at 4:45-ish, and the food was ready in 20 minutes. Just like the name, they have dumplings, noodles, as well as buns and appetizers. What I am truly impressed with is their selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Their competitors are shockingly light with these options, and they are chock full of it. Love! The Food: - Chili the Beef Lamen - This is a "dry" (not soup) style. Their lamen, which means pull noodle, is much, much thicker than I anticipated. If I was eating this while seated in the restaurant, I will very likely find this to be too thick, too starchy, and too firm (al dente) than I would like. However, as a take-out, with re-heating (stove top in pan, slow cook, regular stirring), the congealed noodles softened and have extra time to infuse the sauce, the chili oil, and it turned out really, really well. Yum! - Garlic Tofu Lamen Soup - Same comment as above abut the noodles; the extra cooking helped. This is a vegan option with tofu and mushroom broth. That mushroom soup is very tasty. If you want to turn this into two meals, it can be easily done with the generous broth they provided. Just add more noodles, more veggies, and maybe some proteins. - Sweet and Sour Cucumbers - This is marinated in rice vinegar, garlic, and likely a bit of sugar because there's not much sour to it. I drizzled on the chili oil that they provided. Again, this is very tasty. I am looking forward to trying more from their menu! read more

I've had just about everything on the menu here at this point, and nothing disappoints. The stand outs are definitely the buns--any kind but I always order the vegan and the pork and onion--and the pan fried dumplings (the shrimp and pork are amazing). Their sauces are good but could be more complex. The chili oil is mostly oil flavor and not much spice at all. The vinegar is very savory but don't put too much on, even if you love it or it might go down your throat the wrong way and make you choke . I learned that the hard way! They're also great at fixing dishes to your taste. I order the hot and sour soup sometimes but it's more hot than sour and they always are willing to make it extra sour for me. Very authentic Chinese meal. Delicious and way less work than the all day process of homemade dumplings. We'll save that for holidays! read more
