Very affordable dumpling spot. Came on a saturday night, and there was no wait. The lotus shaped noodles were very unique and had a good peanut butter flavored sauce. We tried 3 different types of dumplings, and the favorite was definitely the corn and chicken ones.

Just wandered in and this hit the spot!! So delicious and not heavy/too filling. We tried the lace fried beef dumplings and the steamed chicken and corn dumplings. Just fantastic and quick!

Tried basically all the dumplings and was a fan of them cool. Cool to try different flavors. I wish they had even more options. I believe the locations in China have even more options. The hot pot type is also very tasty and a decent price.

They have very simple menu, just dumplings and hot pots. We ordered one for each and their dumplings are excellent, as I have never ate any zucchini dumplings before. You order from your phone and foods are ready fast.

Kind of amazing to be able to have authentic Chinese dumplings this late on a weeknight in New York. The dumplings are handmade, taste clean and light, and don't have that heavy MSG feel. If you're Chinese, you'll probably like it, but if not, you might find them a bit bland.

Popular place with fresh dumplings! We got the signature shrimp ones either one order fried and one steamed. They were very good and service was quick. The seaweed salad was fine. Not blown away so not 5 stars but it was nice and easy on a chilly day.

A bit surprised that they only have 4 types of dumplings on menu considering this is a dumpling specialist shop. I got the signature one with shrimp, roe and pork, it is okay - shrimp is decent but overall a bit dry, vinegar and chili oil are also not particularly flavorful.

Lowkey spot for Chinese food that is very affordable and authentic. It's a popular Chinese chain (+800 locations) and first opened their locations in NYC. Their dumplings are northern influenced, and have a really chewy texture. We got the pork + corn dumplings and soy-marinated chicken leg. Dumplings were dough-y and juicy, super delicious. Chicken leg was extremely tender -- the meat practically fell of the bone and super juicy. The service is fast and there's basically no wait -- not a lot of people were there when we were during peak lunch hours. Great vibes inside too!

Came across Dumpling Xi, and decided to give it a go. To start, meals are super affordable here! Everything is ~$10-18 - nice for a quick and cheap meal! The only thing I'd say is that I think it is supposed to be partially self serve? I was kind of confused by how it's supposed to work - came in and a server told us to order via the QR code on the table, but then another server came and wanted to take our order. There were notes in the restaurant that some items were self serve and available at the front (I believe they were some additional sauces on top of the ones available at each table), so was a bit confused by the concept. To start, we got one of the mini hot pots to share - the Chicken Leg Combo Pot (comes with tofu skin, broccoli, and marinated egg). The chicken leg was SUPERR tender - literally comes right off the leg. At first, we asked for the knife, but after the server told us we didn't need one because of how tender it was, we ended up using our utensils. The chicken literally came off as I was taking it off the leg with my fork. I love how it also came with veggies (broccoli), and a full egg! The sauce was also savory and delicious - we ordered some rice which paired perfectly with the sauce leftover. The chicken leg was so good we ordered another chicken leg on the side (only ~$5!!) which was super tender as well. The dumplings were super affordable as well ($13/12 pieces of fried dumpling). They were interesting as I've never had corn in my dumplings, but were great as well! Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for a nice, quick, and affordable meal.

Great spot for fresh dumplings! Food (5/5): Dumplings were excellent and freshly made on the spot. Value (5/5): Very affordable given the quality. Service (4/5): Waited about 20 minutes on a busy Saturday, but staff were apologetic and attentive.

A couple of us wanted to try some soup dumplings. We stumbled upon Dumpling Xi. We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't very crowded. There were a few groups dining in. We sat ourselves. The ordering was different--we had to scan a QR code to place orders. We decided to order three different items and share. I ordered the shrimp with chives and egg dumplings, while one ordered the celery and pork dumplings and someone else ordered the beef and vegetable soup pot with pinto bean broth. Then we ordered rice and beef mixed with mushrooms. The soup pot was the winner. It was so flavorful and I mixed some chili oil with the broth. The celery and pork dumplings were also a big hit with our table. The beef with mushrooms tasted good to me but my friend whose Chinese was not impressed. The service was good, very attentive. I would like to try some of the other soup pot dishes.

Tried this place on a whim. Overall, I'd recommend it! We ordered the edamame, beef and onion steamed dumplings ($14.99/20 pieces on one plate) and beef and onion fried snowflake dumplings ($8.99/6 pieces on one plate). The edamame was surprisingly delicious- just the right amount of salt as well as crunch to the bite. The steamed dumplings were what I'd expect: firm skin with some juice on the inside. Lastly, the fried snowflake dumplings (named for their snowflake appearance if I had to guess?) were not too heavy despite their fried nature. Because our order surpassed $25, we received a one-time promotional offer of free fruit tea. I opted for Lychee Rose and cannot rave enough about its flowery yet sweet taste. If you're in the area, I'd recommend dropping by!

Bestie and I came here for the first time tonight because we were curious about this Mainland china chain transplant. We were pleasantly surpised by the richly flavored filling. We got the dumpling xi, dumpling sanxian and cold lotus shaped noodles. Other reviews talk about how awesome the fish roe is and don't get me wrong, it is truly awesome, but let me take a minute to talk about the dumpling dough. This dough is made fresh daily and from three different types of dough. Dumplings are cooked al dente and the chew is just perfect - a little bit of that mochi bounce without being too squishy or soggy. Simon was our server and a major sweetie who hooked us up with these cutie fridge magnets!

There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water.
