Great place for handmade dumplings! They also have them frozen for you to take home. I personally like my dumplings on the salty side and these are exactly that. It's a good spot for a quick lunch your order via tablet and everything g is brought very quick.

Went on a Saturday at around 1:30PM in a party of 3, the restaurant was almost full but we managed to get seating immediately. The food didn't really stand out much to me, to be honest but, it wasn't bad either. I think the dumplings could've been hotter. It was kinda lukewarm. I'm pretty sure the dumplings are made in-house, I could be wrong. I like the beef with the cucumber but they definitely could've given more beef. I'd be interested in trying the fried dumplings and other non-dumpling dishes next time but not sure if I'd be going back any time soon. The interior design was very simple and aesthetic, I liked it. The service was pretty good, the staff were pretty attentive and helpful. I would say to try this place if you haven't but, likely wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.

    Boiled vegetarian dumplings

I have very high standards for authentic dumplings: their wrappers must be thin, their fillings must be generous, they must be piping hot when served, they must be accompanied by aged dark vinegar, and they must be digested by drinking the original broth in which they were cooked ... Only northern Chinese natives know how to meet all of these standards. I was not convinced by the two young waiting staff with southern accents who greeted me at the door, but I stayed because the two older women behind the transparent partition, who were making the dumplings, assured me that they were both from the north, and knew how to make authentic dumplings. One of these older women was the owner, the "Grandma", who opened this restaurant about a year and a half ago. She paid particular attention to me, explaining how fresh her ingredients were, how everything was handmade from scratch, and how she offered authentic condiments, including a small saucer of dark vinegar from the kitchen. She even brought me a cup of the broth in which my vegetarian dumplings were boiled (good sign that she knew not to boil vegetarian dumplings in the same water for the meat ones). As far as the dumplings went - although the wrappers could have been thinner, the filling itself was delicious. This was their only boiled vegetarian option, with eggs, vermicelli noodles, carrots, "wood-ear" mushrooms and nice seasonings. There is another steamed vegetarian option with eggs and zucchini, which I will try next time. Each order of dumplings includes 12 pieces, which is not enough to fill my stomach, so I asked for a plate of shredded potato salad. This turned out to be somewhat disappointing: for the price they charge, the portion was quite small, and it was too salty for me. The young waitress offered me a cup of barley tea in the end, "to dispel grease" - I guess their meat versions could be quite rich :-) All in all it was a very nice experience, and I do plan to bring my family there when we have a chance to be near this location.

REALLY delicious steamed pork and chive dumplings! Perfect ratio of dough to meat, and you could tell they were super fresh (and hot). The pork mix was juicy, and well-seasoned. Would definitely return here again for the steamed dumplings (the fried ones tasted a bit dry to me).

Three Meats Dumplings, actually stuffed with pork and chives

This spot has recently opened and I have been meaning to try it. In the middle of Chinatown, there is no shortage of flavorful dumplings as there is lots of competition. The dining area looks brightly lit and feels right, as our server brought us hot tea mugs. On a cold winter day, it was a nice welcome gesture. We ordered on a tablet, and the servers are happy to answer your questions. We had platters of dumplings that we shared. Soy sauce, vinegar and hot sauce were provided at the table. All of our food was fresh, and as a steamer full of dumplings were placed in front of us, they were piping hot. We had pork and chive dumplings, followed by a plate of beef and onion dumplings. They were all delicious.

Was deciding between dumplings and noodles and we know what the choice was. The interior and the store front looks modern and lovely. Upon entering, there is an order system for takeout or a sit in dining. We ordered some soup dumplings and shrimp and chives/pork dumplings, It took around 15-20mins for the food to arrive, but the dumplings were being made fresh to order, so that's understandable The soup dumplings were the most flavorful compared to other places and a generous amount as well, the chives/pork, and shrimp dumplings were just as good, the prices are a little steep for "dumplings", but highly recommend to try this place out.

Visited 2/21/26. Cannot say enough good things about Grandma's. It was very busy in Chinatown around lunchtime but they still bent over backwards to get four of us in for a walk in. Service was solid and ordering was easy using the machines. It was then confirmed by the staff. The big stand outs of the meal were the cucumbers in chili oil starter and the pork dumplings (so juicy and delicate), but you couldn't really go wrong with anything you order. The only thing I liked slightly less were the chicken soup dumplings however they were still good-just not as good as the others. Overall would highly recommend.

This place was amazing. I'm just mad that it's so far from where I live. The food was beyond great, service was even better. Mama was in this place making everything fresh for me, it felt like I was family. I want to definitely go back

Good dumplings, friendly service and good price! I ordered takeout but the restaurant had a quiet vibe where you can see the kitchen.

Just opened Delicious dumplings Panfried chicken corn dumplings: perfect crisp on the skin Steamed pork and leek dumplings: juicy Beef noodles: noodles were tender. Beef was tender and tasty. No too salty Mixed sauce noodles: best Ja Jung mein! Nice service! Clean and big bathroom.

Boiled dumplings tasted frozen, fried rice tasted so much like burnt oil... the beef noodles were So so. Nothing worth a mention..

12 Piece Shrimp And Three Fresh Meat
    Michael H.

My wife and I went here for a quick lunch. We split the 12 Piece Shrimp And Three Fresh Meat dumplings, which were amazing! Had great flavor, the texture and temperature were perfect. The complimentary tea was also very good and well appreciated considering the cold weather outside. Service was very fast after placing the order on the tablet at the table. Atmosphere was nice, nothing crazy but very clean.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I missed a call and literally two minutes later the call came through again and the woman yelled at me - "hurry up hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" said the driver was waiting 10-15 minutes for me, which was simply untrue - I got a call literally two minutes before- just rude. Added a screenshot in case the owner doubles down that it was 15 mins. Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!

Then we got a handful of apps - everyone else swore by all the ones they'd had - but I just tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and... sweet baby Jesus, this little plate had a wicked amount of flavor from every angle.  "Aggressively seasoned" might be an understatement.  Wild. Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!). There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC. But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab. (And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.) Definitely recommended.
