On my way to Niantic I stopped by the Dunkin in East Lyme. I was very confused by this location. There were four employees working, yet it took them over 20 minutes to make two coffees. And I was the only one in the store. I ordered the new Cookie Butter Cold Brew. The guy who I placed the order with, said this flavor is the same as the Caramel Chocolate, do I mind getting that instead? I'm not sure how those two could be the same, but sure. Whatever he gave me was far too sweet! I told him no sugar, I'm not sure if he listened. The cappuccino my friend got was to her liking. We also got a croissant, it was crispy and fresh. This store has gone through drastic change over the last year. I'm very pleased with the new hires and I am always greeted with positive attitudes. Made some friends at the drive through and they let me in on a secret... their deliveries come Tuesday mornings which is why their popular stock items are sometimes low on Mondays. Always Slow and horrible service ! They lock the bathrooms so patrons with kids or elderly cant use them even when we beg Them!!! Pretty sure a restaurant with hot food and dining area inside are required to provide restrooms to patrons. They Always say its broken for months at a time read more

I enjoy this Dunkin'. Many do not realize that Niantic is a tourist area & housing is very expensive. This plays a large part of always having trainees. It takes time to have them trained well. This is true in all of the shore line fast foods. Customers are abusive to the employees, and employees walk out. The food quality is good and the shop is clean. The worst Dunkin on the planet. Staff can't handle the volume and they tell you they can't help you inside so go get in the very long drive up line. This is after they see you walk in and let you stand there waiting. When you push back about being left to stand there waiting even though they saw you walk in, they tell you to leave or they'll call the police. Sad excuse for a service business. Quality is decent but if you have a family order, try somewhere else. Anything above a sandwich and a coffee inevitably gets messed up. Not great with delivery orders either, items are packed haphazardly and they often forget items entirely. read more

This Dunkin' location is the closest to me that has a drive thru. I enjoy coming here because the staff are quite pleasant, always make my drink correctly, and they are able to keep the drive thru line moving quickly, even though it is often bombarded in the morning with people getting their caffeine before work! read more

I'm having a hard time giving a chain restaurant a review considering I don't think serving the food and drinks that they have on the menu should be very difficult. In fact, my first job ever was at a Dunkin' Donuts and I know it is not difficult. This location has employees that don't smile and aren't very friendly. I don't typically write poor reviews but I have had two experiences in a row where in the employee wasn't very friendly. I try to make small talk and be friendly, as a business owner myself. The person at the counter did not even acknowledge my conversation. The last drive through employee didn't even look at me. In addition, the last two times I was there they got my food order completely wrong and I had already drove 15 minutes away before noticing! I paid for something three times the cost too! read more

PSA... went there third time in four days. Two times through the window and today inside. What a difference service and speed wise. Today ask the polite girl that greeted me with a big ol good morning when I walked in why everything seems so fast did they get a new staff? Whenever I order an iced latte at this location there is way too much milk added to the point where I can barely taste the espresso. Having worked at a Dunkin Donuts in the past the dairy dispensers are likely rarely calibrated. read more

This was one of the worst Dunkin' Donuts I have ever been too! They were out of everything and took extremely long to take my order and get me the coffee I ordered. The staff was very overwhelmed and fighting with each other. This Dunkin clearly needs help. The coffee I received was basically a cup of milk with 0 Carmel in it ... I ordered a Carmel latte which in my opinion is a pretty common drink for Dunkins to make. read more

Since I gave this particular franchise a 1 star review (for bitter tasting coffee and slow service) I have been back. I understand that is is under new management and it seems to have made a difference. My last cup of coffee there was perfectly acceptable (I mostly stick to Iced Dark Roast) and wait times were ok. I live in Niantic and have my choice of coffee shops. I like this DD best because of the speed of the order process and the consistent quality of the product. My son likes the food and my vegetarian daughter says the cheese sandwich is good. Never a bad experience and I go almost daily. read more

I come here every morning. EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Order pretty much the same thing through the drive thru. Some days are better than others. Some days are horrific. I'm five minutes late for work because they are bumping into eachother trying to get everyone's order together. Today was the absolute worst though. I got handed a coffee with a defective lid that when I went to take a sip, dripped hot coffee all over my thighs and groin. Thanks I'm awake now! Also I'm sure this will look good on my nursing scrubs throughout the 16 hour shift ahead of me. Then I sat there literally for 10 minutes waiting for my hot oatmeal. Finally the woman taking my order notices me and says to me as if she doesn't understand why I'm still outside her window, "And you are waiting for?" "My oatmeal" I say, wishing I could find another planet in which to live...somewhere with better customer service at least. Then take another sip of my coffee forgetting about the defective lid and subsequently spilling more hot coffee on my nether regions. "Could I have more napkins? This lid is defective" more napkins are handed to me wordlessly. I don't even get a look of concern. Then I watch as they argue as to where my oatmeal wound up. Finally it's handed to me. I went in one night in a rush to get to work and I was running late I went to use my Dunkin app because I had a coupon for getting the app for a free coffee. My Phone was acting up and I couldn't get the coupon so I gave the gentleman $2.00 and told him keep the change. My daughter works at a Dunkin so I know they live off of tips on my was out he made a comment about oh yay a whopping 9 cents that is a lot. Seriously I had $2 in my pocket and had I used the coupon I was going to give the two since as stated my daughter works there and they use tips to make ends meet. I know 9 cents is not a lot but honestly if your going to make some sort of snippy comment like that maybe you should make sure the customer who is a regular at your franchise isn't standing ten feet away from you. If I had more I would have given it to you but with that kind of attitude maybe customer service isn't a strong point for you. Needless to say I have not been back since I go to Flanders down the road they appreciate the business and have a smile on their faces all the time. I came here yesterday and first walked in and the floors were so dirty, paper everywhere and straw wrappers on the floor. My boyfriend and I stopped to use the restroom since we were on the road for a while and to get a coffee. Fist of all the women's bathroom had no toilet paper and it was so disgustingly dirty and to top it off there was NO SOAP! I told the girls at the counter and they said "yeah we know the dispenser has been broken for a while" I was so put off by this. There should have at least a pump with soap. I do believe this is against health code, at least have a stand alone pump. This was really disgusting! I can't believe this site is still open!! read more
