this morning 7:30 am i stopped at dunkin donuts in el cajon , was told they could not serve food due to a 15 sandwich order! i asked who was manager working at the moment, the young lady said (jessica). this is horrible!! to not serve the public due to an order , jessica the 'manager" should have prepared better for her some what large order to make sure a huge chain like dunkin donuts can complete large orders while still serving the public!! i would understand if they ran out certain food due to the order , but to shut the public off from ordering because you have to make 15 sandwiches is ridiculous. does corporate allow this?!!!!! from what i've read inspire brand inc runs this location , is this what y'all allow?! the manager should manage! manage your staff, orders, current customers. we are not sitting in that drive through to be told we are not serving food because we making someone else order!! i've never heard of this in my life at no food establishment!! horrible service today!!! read more

First time I've been to a Dunkin. Location: New location and we went inside to order so got to look around. Standard modern fast food layout. Nice seating area. Decent space. Donuts/coffee: Coffee: I always heard good things about the coffee so I tried a cup. I make my own fresh grind coffee at home with premium beans so I don't ever expect a 1:1 comparison on quality, but it was tasty and I would say slightly better than a Starbucks house coffee. Donuts: donuts weren't as visually appealing as some other places I've been and the jelly filled ones were kind of a mess (uneven filling and spilling out), but they tasted good and seemed fresh. read more

Bland donuts without much flavor. If I wanted bread with a tiny bit of sweet I'd just get a loaf of bread from Ralphs. Who gets donuts that doesn't have much flavor? When I want a donut I want sweet. Do you ever get ice cream that was not really flavorful? Krispy Kreme is a sweet donut. Even yum yum donuts have more flavor than here. Good location and service is good though. read more

This is the second time I've gone to this location mid afternoon to get a pick me up coffee. I'm a firm believer that if it doesn't pick you up it should at least taste good. I ordered a large hot with extra cream and sugar, only to get a watered down luke warm coffee and no taste of sweetness anywhere. Of course I called to have the business make it right, but that's impossible when they don't answer the phone. I'm also guessing they don't know how to handle long lines and keep the coffee consistent. Guess I'll stick to making my coffee at home until they can figure out how to get it right. read more

Parking in the lot is tricky as it's in the path of the often-crowded drive-thru. We ended up parking on the street and just walking into the store where there was a line. It can be a bit awkward standing in line since there was a trash can at the entrance/exit and a few customers and I had to shuffle ourselves around for people to get through (to either throw trash away or go to the restroom). There isn't really much space for a line inside the store (kind of like the drive-thru). Maybe I missed it, but I think it would help to put the donut flavors on the menu or somewhere visible to visitors standing in line so it could possibly alleviate the wait in line. I think most of the waiting is due to customers trying to figure out the donut flavors since they're only visible once you're at the cash register. Felt a bit bad for customers after me that probably just wanted a coffee. As for the donuts, I noticed some of the same flavors on different shelves and when I asked about a particular flavor pointing at one shelf, the server would get that flavor from the other shelf and place it in our box. Not sure if it has anything to do with the freshness of the donuts. Took the donuts home to family and all of us were disappointed at how stale they were. The glaze seemed like it was already melted off the glazed donuts. Someone asked if I had bought the donuts the day before because they tasted a day old. The coffee was fine, but nothing special. Customer service was good and staff seemed friendly. Just unfortunate that the quality isn't that great (especially for all the hype Dunkin' Donuts has elsewhere). read more

Dunkin' Donuts used to be my favorite donut shop in downtown. The drive there was nice and I always received pleasant service from the employees. Now, I go to the location off plaza because it's closer to home. And I must say, I'd rather make The drive to the downtown location. Especially today, my husband and I went just for coffee and munchkins. The line was long, which we didn't mind. But whoever took our order (between 9:45am- 10:00am) made us reconsider ever coming back to this location. Every time I've gone to the plaza location in the day time-- there's a huge line; the employees are rude and they are always running out of munchkins. It would be different if the customer service was better but literally every time I've gone there, rude & curt service. ---------------------------- 08/01/18 It really takes someone with great customer service to completely make me reconsider my view of this particular Dunkin' Donuts location . I was a bit discouraged when I arrived because the line for the drive thru went all the way out into the street. I quickly decided to park on the street , (which had /has ample parking) when I went in there was about 5 people in front of me, the line went fast. Carollyn greeted me with a smile and quickly executed my order, all though there were slim pickings, another employee offered to make me a specific donut that I requested that wasn't available, but I didn't want to wait so I declined. This location is always busy BUT the manager and employees are amazing, even on their busiest days they still have a smile on their faces.

Vanilla swirl with cream is pretty good; the vanilla sprinkled donut which is purple with a couple sprinkles on it was mediocre (pictured in below review as exactly it was given to me in the bag... not able to add pictures to this review). It would be so awesome if there were more sprinkles on the donuts and if donut holes were offered with sprinkles. In store and drive thru lines have been long and unfortunately the customer service was mediocre. read more

This is the worst Dunkin Donuts I've ever been to. When it first opened it was terrible service and they could never get an order right. I stopped going to for almost 2 years and went back the other day and ordered only 2 items. Both items were over charged from what the menu says, the drink was made iced instead of hot (the price increase) and when they remade it they didn't even ask what I wanted in it they just made it the same as the iced one although that's not how it works. No napkins in the bag, latte tasted like it was from a gas station powdered cappuccino machine. Breakfast sandwich wasn't toasted but most definitely microwaved. No thanks. Def not ever going back. I'd say the only pros are: always great customer service, near the 805 freeway, and its clean. Cons: 3rd time I go in (at a busy time) and ask for the dozen assorted donuts, its your choice to have them pick the flavors out or they SHOULD ask you which ones you'd like, not in this case... before i even get the chance to pick, they're already fast at picking their choice, and they pick the nastiest ones! The donuts are pretty good. I ordered two types of croissants, and both of them came out burnt. I didn't realize this till I got home and was too tired to go back or complain. I try and get work done in coffee shops so when the I can't even VPN into work because the wifi is so spotty I can't even even. I was excited to see that another dunkin donuts opened up in san diego as the only other closest one is in ramona and thats pretty far out of the city. I have fallen in love with DD after going to the ramona location a few times after probably over 15 years of not having DD after they left the west coast. So I was super excited to finally be able to come to this one and its a drive thru which is always a plus. We came on a saturday evening at around 6:30 pm and the place was poppin. There were cars packed in the parking lot, driving every which way blocking the drive thru and people just hanging out. It seemed a little crazy to me that people were getting donuts at dinner time but hey I guess its semi new so people are going DD crazy in national city. Anyway I read all the reviews about donuts being stale and I thought it must just be the rush of a new store opening. But this has been open for a few months now. The service was pretty fast in the drive through but the donuts were pretty stale. The only ones that were fresh were the chocolate glazed. The sprinkle donut, the cruler and the cinnamon bun were all stale. I don't get it. I doubt it was just an off day as the reviews speak for themselves. Definitely not going here at night again. read more

Update: I went and got our free dozen. The manager there was VERY kind. I went 3/25 around 2:45. 90% of the donuts in our dozen were nice and soft and fresh. A couple were still a little stale (maple and chocolate round ones). Otherwise, my little ones vanilla with sprinkles, the glazed and the chocolate powdered were excellent. :) Adding a couple stars for now as I appreciate the fact that the owner has reached out to remedy the situation. Not many businesses do that these days so, it's refreshing to interact with a business who does its best to fix any issues that arise. :) Two days ago, myself and my little one stopped in to get some donuts. We purchased one dozen donuts and a small strawberry Coolata. We get home and I set the donuts down and my husband comes over and gets one followed immediately by my oldest. Both start eating their donuts and almost in unison they say they taste stale. I go to try one and, they were right! The donuts tasted as though they had been sitting out all day long. Very disappointing considering this was my husbands first time trying Dunkin Donuts. Now his first impression is stale donuts. Makes me quite sad as I was telling him how good Dunkin Donuts are and now all he knows is they sell you stale donuts. Hopefully, one day, I can give my husband the true Dunkin Donuts experience. Just like home. Being from New England it's great to get the exact same quality food here in California. It's the ONLY place in Southern California that offers an actual Boston Creme. It's not a vanilla bean creme SoCal! The service here was excellent. They let you take your time in figuring out what you want and offer suggestions based on what your looking at.
