The donuts are freshly made to order and boy do they have a lot of options! It's one style of base with different toppings but it's a really solid donut. I tried the donut sandwich on my last visit and really enjoyed it as well! The only thing I probably wouldn't get again is the dipper cup as the donut holes end up more dense than their regular donuts.

The shop was really cute inside and had a lot of different pastries that looked so delicious. I also was shown a bottle of wine from Italy and was sold on it and I had to buy it. It was really yummy and sweet, which I like. They can even write on the cake for free and so I had them write a little anniversary message. Kookaburra...what happened?…read more When we first moved to Saint John's a few years ago from California, I thought the speciality coffee was sure to disappoint. However, to my surprise, Kookaburra had phenomenal lattes. On top of that it's a great place to bring the kids and was our Saturday ritual we looked to do after taking my girls to the dance studio nearby. However, for the past 6 months the quality of the lattes has deteriorated. The lattes come out either too bitter, watery and/or EXTREMELY hot. (It is possible to burn the milk while you froth it.) I'm not sure what it is, maybe the machines aren't being cleaned frequently, the espresso isn't dialed in, there is a new staff that isn't trained properly and pays attention to details? This is also not a one time occasion. I have come back many times and hoped the quality would be different. I've given back my latte and pointed out its ways too hot , the milk hasn't frothed well, etc, but still leave disappointed. One thing that I can't wrap my mind around is that there is a coffee shop about 10 minutes (Mikes Pour) which sources their beans Kookaburra and were initially trained by Kookaburra. Same recipes , just different name AND better taste. This place can be the perfect shop for the neighborhood. And I love the brand and was inclined to buy some swag. I'll be back eventually , with the hope the quality has improved. This place has the potentially to be 5 stars..

They use Kookaburra Coffee (which I have had plenty of times) out of St. Augustine and I love it. The barista made my usual breve with heavy cream perfectly and it was definitely delicious and rich. My BIL got his usual brewed cup of Joe black and said it was great. The service is fast and friendly. And the place is immaculate. It's got a very chill atmosphere with a comfy couch and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and scroll on your phone to research the origins of the business. At least that's what I usually do...I'm endlessly curious and interested. I thought PMCH might have been a franchise like so many other businesses popping up in the area. I was wrong. To my surprise and pleasure, Pour Mike's Coffee House is locally owned (St. Augustine residents) and that particular day, Mike and his wife (the owners) were actually there amongst their customers. Mike asked us how we liked the coffee. And we let him know we definitely enjoyed it. It's nice to see business owners interacting with their customers. I love seeing that and really appreciate it. They have plenty of Pour Mike's Coffee House merchandise for sale, Mayday Icecream available for purchase and they seem to offer a mix of local goodies to help and support other area businesses. Rare and awesome. Now that I know, I will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, that's the last time I'm gonna use that word in this review . The shop it's itself pretty small. Not an outright problem, but it does limit a few things. Sadly anybody that's got a wide set of hips or a larger backside is not gonna be comfortable in any of the chairs that they have at this location. That's fine if you're not trying to entice customers to sit and enjoy their food there, but it was unfortunate to find myself in a situation where my hips did not fit and its unlike the chairs at other locations. I ordered six donuts , sadly, the very first one and the second one that I ate out of that grouping, I could tell have been sitting out for a while. I don't know if they had been made that day or potentially the day before, but the donuts themselves were hard and not the smooth texture that they're supposed to be. Were they inedible? No but I was disappointed because I was excited to share this with a friend and found that this was a letdown. I just had a mochinut this morning from a different flavor, but the same place and I could tell that that one was much fresher. I would strongly suggest there be a timer or there be a limitation to how many or which kinds of donuts are left out. Or you could take a leaf from some of the other mochi nuts and have a few that are on display for the different flavors that you offer and then make each of the Mochinuts, fresh to order. I recognized that may be more complicated, leaving fryers on and things like that but if you have a good product, that's not gonna matter long-term because your sales will offset that and have a consistent basis for what your food and products are supposed to taste like will make a difference. I also found it really interesting that you had different flavors for your Boba teas. I asked specifically if you had Ube and the girl at the register had no idea what I was talking about which is fine. But upon looking at the menu of a further after sitting down, you do list, purple, sweet potato as a flavor. And while there are some nuance differences between purple, sweet potatoes and Ube because technically Ube is a yam and not a sweet potato. Most people don't look at that nuance and believe that they are the same. So I will have to try that the next time I'm in although I don't know when that will be because I don't wanna have to drive out to Beach Boulevard to go to kung fu tea every time I want a Boba. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice but again the issue with the chairs and people with hips. I give this place a three out of five for now. We'll see if a new visit gets me a different opinion.

There are a few tables where you can wait for your order and eat in if you're so inclined. I took my Mochinuts to go and enjoyed the Ube flavor and the Nutella flavors the best. The texture is chewier than a conventional donut and I really enjoyed the entire experience overall. I look forward to trying other menu items next time especially the more savory offerings I saw others eating.

It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

Cuisine, beverage, service and ambiance were all beautifully represented in a tour de force Bordeaux wine dinner at JJ's Liberty Bistro in Ponte Vedra this last Saturday. Each course was one foodie thrill after another! On the heels of an exquisite Valentine's Day meal (reviewed on this site), we jumped at the opportunity to experience Chef Oscar Perez' masterful creations expertly paired with wines from the beautiful Château Lagrange. For wine enthusiasts, this is a historic French Third Growth Bordeaux estate in the Saint-Julien appellation, known for its powerful, complex red wines made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Taking an already-elevated dining experience to another level, owner JJ brought Château Lagrange's General Manager and Winemaker Matthieu Bordes along with US Manager Marie Gabriele and Importer Patrick Leveque to thoughtfully discuss each pairing from wine composition, regional history, vine age, crop yields, flavor profile, and so much more. My wife and I were fortunate to sit alongside them as we dined, talking about their passion for crafting amazing product, sharing their extensive knowledge, and exhibiting immense patience as I attempted to recall my French vocabulary! They were warm, generous and delightful company who we look forward to seeing again when next they return to JJ's. As is a hallmark of dining at JJ's, the service was elegant and fluid, timed with precision like a beautiful dance. We began with Stuffed Mussels w/Crepinette, paired with a white 2022 Les Arums De Lagrange. The white wine served as not only a palate cleanser, but also gave gorgeous floral and buttery notes that balanced the mussels perfectly. Next came a light Sheepshead Bordelaise, SO tender and sauced expertly to ensure each flavor could be tasted rather than overwhelming the palate with one versus another (wonderfully paired with a 2016 Haut Medoc De Lagrange). Pictured below, you can see how beautiful the plating was, as with all dishes that evening. One of two favorites on the night...impossible to choose...was the Squab two ways (pigeon, akin to duck), served with Dutchess potato. Rich and decadent, this was a gorgeous pairing with the Merlot-dominant 2017 Les Fiefs De Lagrange. I'll be thinking about this dish for a long, long time! Lamb Loin is a perennial favorite, perfectly cooked and sauced, accompanied by the most delicious mushroom soufflé we'd ever tasted. The flavors melded together seamlessly, enhanced further by each sip of the bold, fruit forward 2018 Chateau Lagrange St Julien. The Cabernet-dominant blend was magnificent, age worthy but very approachable now - we took home a winemaker signed bottle! Finally, we came to a very special dessert not often found outside of the France, Caneles de Bordeaux. It has a dense texture with a slight crisp exterior, and was created to use the yellow of the egg; in the past, the whites were used to filter the wines. Delectable and unique, capping off a truly memorable event! We were thrilled to learn that JJ hosts these amazing dinners monthly, so I've included a picture of the upcoming schedule. They have a tendency to sell out (as with the dinner we attended), so recommend calling the number below and booking early! We had decaf espresso's and split a coconut macron (highly recommend!) and a coffee meringue (delightful) for dessert. I said ok please just put one scoop matcha still four pumps of mocha. She barely gave me 2 mocha and a less than full drink as you can see. There are 2 employees here, business is steady. Maybe mgmt should consider hiring help for them. she was polite enough but I've been ordering this drink for five years or so and I just don't understand the confusion. I don't understand how when you take matcha away it means at espresso. and when you asked for less of an ingredient, you're told they can't do that. Do better Please.

I suggest more of a tray or actual bowl would be easier to eat this in. I got my order really quickly and they have plenty parking. It was busy and plenty customers. Really enjoyed my visit and stayed a bit to work in the cafe on my laptop.

I had a plum cinnamon tea which was also great and hit the spot on a rainy day. The WiFi connected but wouldn't open any pages except google, so that was a bummer. I'd love to see for-here food come in an actual plate or bowl. The bowl mine came in had all the egg & sausage on the bottom, so you ate grits first then everything else. Still, I'd come back and try more things. I also tried the chocolate banana thing (muffin? Donut? Cupcake.) and found it pretty disappointing. The cake part itself is good, very moist. Too moist to be a donut or a muffin, so it must be a cupcake, which is weird considering the shape. The icing was awful. It's so overpoweringly sweet it doesn't taste like chocolate or banana, just sugar. If you don't scrape it off, it makes the whole thing way too sweet.
