Being a big Dunkin Donuts fan from East coast, I was little too excited to come here. I was bummed that they don't have Egg & cheese croissant, but I did have artichoke & spinach bagel which was delicious. Having a big cup of coffee without paying heaps of dollars( referring Starbucks) felt good. So disappointed I waited in line for an hour and that wasn't so much of a big deal for me though. Me and my bf ordered a vanilla bean drink plus a French vanilla iced coffee. The vanilla bean tasted like milk no vanilla bean flavor and the iced coffee tasted like coffee with milk. I expected it to taste like French vanilla . The donuts are okay they were cold and they ran out of most of the good donuts. I think the problem is that there is so many people and it's so small and crowded. Start time was 8:15. Got inside by 10:30 and out by 10:40. I was very excited for part of my childhood growing up was eating some Dunkin' Donuts. Got my dozen and they were all lacking flavor, even the regular glazed. I am a bit disappointed. The locally owned donut shops have better quality than these. The munchkins were good. The store is tiny and waited an hour for the donuts. The girl at the cashier doesn't know how to use the cash register which is really unprofessional especially in this long line. I kept telling her to use my free coffee coupon and she still forgets. I don't understand how hard is it to use the cash register. Instead of being apologetic she was acting rude to defend her inability to properly use a register without her coworkers help. Suuuper disappointing. I walked in with the intention of buying one donut and left with a 1/2 dozen. There's a good assortment of donuts available and the line was only 5 min long on a Sunday evening, but man - those donuts were not soft! Considering how popular this place is, you would think they'd be making donuts every 10 minutes. You really have to nuke these babies if you want them soft and warm. Overrated and totally over-hyped. I'm sure Dunkin' Donuts is very successful in the mid-West and trying to hold on to its' popularity here in the West Coast, but I was sorely disappointed that they don't carry the really popular chocolate old-fashioned donut! So it looks like the CRAZY lines that were around closer to opening has calmed down a bit. Though it could have been that I stopped by on a weekday morning at around 7:15. Maybe a total of about 6 people in line as I got in, and I was out in about 5 minutes. The employees are all working hard, but they're still working on getting the kinks out. I had a guy ask what I was going to get. 2 dozen assorted... A couple guys start working on it. When the next cashier opens up I go to pay, and she asks if I got my donuts yet. I say no... so then she tries to start up a new 2 dozen. Fortunately one of the guys working on my order realizes she's duplicating an order, so he corrects her. She gave me a brief look like it was my fault... but maybe she just needs to ask if I've already put my order in yet? Anyway, parking kind of stinks. Looks like the neighboring businesses all put up cones so no one else will park in them. The small lot looks a bit like Bay Cities, but hopefully that'll die down soon. read more

I'm a native SoCal boy and have never had a Dunkin Donut, although I have heard about it for years from my east coast friends. I stopped by this location this morning on my way home from the eye doctor. While standing in line I watched a woman lose it over something (I'm not sure what), and asked for her money back. Once I got to the counter I kind of understood why. The person who took my request was very nice. He explained that I could select any donuts I wanted except for two special donuts. Another person took my specific donut order, so the cashier could help the next person. Both of these individuals were very nice and helpful. I selected 5 of the 6 donuts and while deciding on my last doughnut someone walked up in street clothes (he wasn't in Dunkin Donuts gear). I had selected a chocolate bar as one of my last items and the guy in street clothes pointed to the donut and scolded the employee stating this wasn't included. He then told me I had to pick something else since this was a special doughnut. There are plenty of doughnut places in LA and I won't go back to this location. I avoided standing in line for hours when this place first opened a few years ago. Now there is no more line and it's just like any other Dunkin. Donuts are dry, but they actually taste pretty good. I lived in Philly during my college years and Dunkin Donuts was really good! I used to always get the Boston Cream and Apple Crumb. It's no surprise that when I heard DD was coming to LA I was eager to return. Unfortunately they didn't carry the Boston Cream or Apple Crumb. The donuts weren't good at all. A good place for ridiculous 5AM munchies. I had the turkey breakfast wrap thing, and it was so bomb and delicious I swear I didn't even feel half guilty ruining my diet (it's actually not THAT bad, in all fairness.) Also had the hot latte--given the fact that I've only slept 2 hours now and I'm still hyper-attentive and awake, it seems to be doming the trick!!!!! When I left Philly 30 yrs ago, one of the things I missed on the left coast was good donuts. I've never liked the taste of them out here , and suspect it is the difference in the water. So I was hopeful that when DD opened around the corner from me that would change. After waiting almost a month for the line to become reasonable I finally gave it a shot. The good news is that they actually had vanilla glazed in stock, my favourite and often hard to find when I was growing up. The bad news is that it tastes no better than any other out here. I completely agree with the reviews that the donuts are too chewy and cake like. I took about two bites out of it, tried a different type with the same result and tossed them in the trash. The coffee wasn't very good either. Still hungry I went down the street to La Monarca for good Mexican pastry. Bottom line, you can't go home again. Yes there are lines but the coffe (hot) and donuts are pretty sucky. Maybe there are some east coast Santa Monica plants which in nostalgia alone will rate this place high but truly the morning I went to pick up two dozen donuts for the office along with coffee the only thing that earned them the second star was the pleasant staff. The folgers coffee we brew at the office is better then the sorry excuse they serve for coffee. And really the donuts were so bad any local non branded donut shop should be able to do far better. I don't like Dunkin' Donuts because I would prefer not to die a caffeine and sugar-related death before the age of 50. I would, however, be fine with dying a salt and sugar-related death due to regular visits to Popeyes *see positive Yelp review for local Popeyes. Unfortunately, my sister and girlfriend LOVE Dunkin' Donuts with the same amount of exuberance that is usually reserved for the other big DD (or D&D, I should say). Since I clearly couldn't beat em', I figured I might as well go along for the ride and then wait in the car so I could pout when they came back full of sugar drugs. YAY WEEKENDS. So, wait I did. Oh I waited all right. I waited and waited and waited. Our meter ran out, and I texted the ones I love to make sure they were still alive and not currently in a donut hostage situation. It turns out they were, in fact, alive, but they were being held up by a major coffee disaster which I assumed to be a coffee spill that killed no less than thirty local pigeons and turned all local tap water into a murky black liquid. The disaster, as it turns out, was less exciting: the DD folks were cleaning the latte machine...at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Obviously, machines need to be cleaned (though it seems like Saturday afternoon would be a bad time for this event hmmm), and they even offered to give my family a free donut while they waited. My brother-in-law asked for a strawberry donut, and the guy in charge immediately handed him a similar donut to strawberry. My family consists of nice, gentle folks from the south, so when we're handed the wrong item, we tend to keep it because we don't like making a fuss. My brother-in-law ate the not quite strawberry donut without complaint and also because all donuts taste vaguely similar regardless. After the latte machine was finally cleaned (which I assume is done by well-trained mice running about with plungers and brushes), they handed my bro-in-law a terribly cold drink. The problem was that he asked for a hot drink, and this was why they had waited for so long in the first place, mucking about eating the wrong donuts and such. He, being the gentle southern gentleman, sighed and just took the beverage because that's what us people do. When they finally came back to the car and explained why I had been waiting for so long (IT IS NOW 2042 and PRESIDENT HILLARY HAS ENTERED HER 26TH YEAR AS WORLD LEADER), I laughed at them for being dumbasses and also decided to write this Yelp review for all those people who don't drink coffee and are forced to wait hours while their friends and family fuel their legal drug addiction at incompetently run donut joints. I've been going here since they opened because I like their drinks but today I experienced the rudest customer service I ever seen in any restaurant. I parked in the back where I usually do for customer parking. When I walked in a employee shouted at me that I have parked in the curbside pickup spot, which I hadn't noticed (must be a new sign since I park there frequently). I agreed and asked if I could just place my order and then go move the car. The DD employee, who was clearly on a power trip or maybe just an unhappy lady, rudely insisted that I had to move immediately and she could not take a coffee order until I moved my car. I apologized and told them of course I will move my car but I hadn't realized and I am an actual patron of their restaurant. She again gave me attitude saying I have to move my car first. The shop was empty, so it would literally take 10 seconds to place an order, but she just didn't want me as a customer. I have been here a lot since COVID started and I have never once actually seen the DD deliver a single curbside pickup, so clearly this was just a power trip of a disgruntled employee. I did end up going to my car to move it, only to find no available spots within 2 blocks, so I decided it just wasnt meant to be. So I came here yesterday to a relatively short line than what I had seen before. 55 minutes later after realizing that I only wanted one doughnut but stood in line almost an hour I decided to get a half dozen. Among my favorites were the maple, coconut and Pumpkin. I think it was a maple glaze because I asked for maple pecan and they were out. The blueberry cake had an amazing consistency but the flavor was not for me. Their coffee is excellent. I grew up and lived on the east coast and this Dunkin Donuts is legit. The donuts and coffee taste right. Just the way I like em! Dunkin delicious!! This location doesn't deserve any less than 5 stars. Most of the complaints so far have been that they ran out of food or were slow in serving it. And sure they didn't know what I meant when I said, "light and sweet," but what do you expect from a brand new store? Especially considering that they're one of the first on the west coast. I guess all the bad reviews came from when they first launched last year. I came here yesterday at 8 am, it was clean, all their donuts were stocked, and the staff was really friendly. The facility has parking in the back aside from the street meters. Its located on 12th and Wilshire so a bit away from the beach chaos and still easy to get to. For first time n00bs, get a egg and cheese on a croissant and get the hash browns (garlic). The Coolata's are also really good, Orange is a great "summery" choice. read more

The West Coast outliers are surely riding a tide of nostalgia and wistful Massachusetts dreaming, as it's always busy. It smells like Boston inside and the coffee will have you reminiscing. I was so excited to hear that Dunkin Donuts had finally opened an LA location, I'm a huge fan of Dunkin on the East Coast, and really missed the simplicity, and down right homey goodness that comes with every steaming hot cup of coffee and sandwich. With one in Santa Monica (not exactly down the street, but... closer than Vegas) I was looking forward to my visit. I miss the Northeast so badly and it would have made LA just a little bit brighter for me... if it had been run anything like an East Coast Dunkin Donuts.... The line was very long, but I expected that. Everyone in line was friendly and it was fun to talk and connect with other people and find out where everybody was from and why we had all decided to stand in this crazy line for donuts and coffee. Sadly, the wait was the least of this locations problems. There were only four people working inside the actual store, three at the counter and only one in the kitchen, they have two registers but were only using one and even people that were just ordering doughnuts and coffee (hardly complicated orders) seemed to be taking forever. Heaven forbid anyone order a sandwich, hashbrowns and a coolatta, at this store I'm not sure that would have been possible- at least not before 2015. There was obviously plenty of customers but somehow it didnt seem to be important to make food at a speed that would meet the demand. When I reached the counter there were only a few flavors of doughnuts available and only two kinds of munchkins. When I asked for the Spicy Smoked Sausage Sandwich they told me they were out of it but my boyfriend saw a guy walk out 5 minutes later with a stack of smoked sausages? Okay... I ordered two combo number fours, I specified "combo", the girl working the register asked me what kind of drinks I wanted with each combo (so she knew, what a combo was), and the proceeded to apparently charge me separately for my coffee and sandwich... When my food is prepared I have only one coffee and I had ordered two, when I brought the items on my receipt to the attention of the people working the counter, the guy told me that she had only charged me for one coffee, go back to the register and have her charge me for one more. Confused, I did what he said but....I had ordered combos? and the items were all listed on the receipt, not to mention the fact that whatever it was that had happened it was her error and not mine, the correct response would have been to just give me the coffee that I ordered. But at this point I just wanted to get my food so I complied without a fuss. When I finally sat down in my car to (finally!) enjoy my sweet Dunkin bliss.... there were no hashbrowns in my bag and my coffees were not the beautiful, creamy perfect specimens that I looked forward to each morning on the East Coast but a muddled, slightly sweetened...something. I mean not terrible, but nothing like what I was used to. My Boston and Bavarian cream doughnuts had hardly any cream in them at all, I mean I'm really not trying to nitpick but.... nothing was up to the standard of what I have come to know and love. Disappointing altogether. I will not be making the drive out to Santa Monica for that again. read more

I am from Rhode Island with a DD on almost every street so I know the company quite well. It just saddens me that I need to leave 2 stars, it really should be 1 star but I keep on going back because I miss the sweet DD aroma and for that +1. At first, I was very excited that DD opened up in So Cal and right down the road in SaMo and everytime I walk through the door I smell that familiar donut coffee smell that makes DD so memorable. Unfortunately, reality sets in and this is not the DD of my past. :sigh: Everytime I visit (10+), service takes forever and my food/coffee is very inconsistent. Either I get my coffee wicked quickly and I wait 10 mins for my bagel or vice versa. I thought in the beginning when they first opened up they were working out a system but still to this day (last check in 6/7/15), I still waited about 8 mins for the coffee. Then with the coffee - I always get a french vanilla iced coffee extra extra and each time it is a new adventure. Sometimes its too strong and then sometimes its not drinkable. Please, make sure you drink your coffee while still in the store to make sure it is something you are happy with. Lastly, the food. I have been having an egg and cheese on a bagel since I was in HS in the 90s mind you and I know the taste far too well. At this location the bagels are rubbery and the eggs are powdery. ugh so disappointing. Why do I go back? I always regret it. I am just too hopeful. Also, parking sucks. read more

So excited to have Dunkin Donuts on the west coast finally... having moved to Los Angeles only 3 years ago from NJ, I have been drinking my home brewed bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee, but missed getting a fresh cup of coffee from DD. Not only is it affordable, but as a long time coffee drinker; there is something about it that I personally love over any more expensive coffee shops that currently flood Los Angeles. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was hoping they'd be a 24 hour location since it's the first one in Los Angeles area and parking is very limited so it's hard to get there during open hours. Looking forward to more locations (hopefully in SFV) and really love having my fresh DD coffee again so thank you. read more

I have visited this location several times since the opening of the shop on the first day. Frankly, the lines for the first few weeks put me off with +45 minute wait times. Since then, it has settled down to a reasonable time for waiting (5 to 10 minutes). The doughnuts are consistent with what you would expect on the east coast with them being very good and the coffee is consistent with the Dunkin flavor as well. I'd say for all of those who are Dunkin fans, this shop will not disappoint. If you haven't tried it, then you should stop by and give it a try at least once. Personally I like these better than Krispy Kreme! Interestingly enough, the Krispy Kreme down the street has been empty when Dunkin has had people waiting for doughnuts. read more
