The other businesses in the mall are far from the Walmart and do not usually impact parking. We have shopped here and used the Vision center for a number of years. The people who work here are usually ok to nice. The people in the Vision center vary in knowledge and expertise, but are always super nice. If they cannot help you with something, then they will get a coworker who can to make sure your issue is resolved. Their prices for both the store and Vision center are good and usually cheaper than elsewhere for most products. We have not had a problem with any food products, clothing, or other items we purchased from here. Toilets are at the front like at most locations. There is also a McDonalds--never ate at this location, but there are usually at least a few people eating there on every visit. Overall, an ok place to shop. Would be a better experience if it was not so crowded and if some customers were not rude and/or weird. Try to come during off hours if possible because they are always busy.

Ok So we did a lap around the super store, loaded up the car and drove over to "The other building" Which is the Garden Center ????? I ask the staff member where's pick up? He said it's at the end of the other building we were just in. We drive over and ask another staffer where do we pick up? He said park in a numbered spot then check in on your phone Ok So I do, shortly thereafter he returns with our little package, which for whatever reason (which he couldn't explain why) Is the only item from a larger order that is suppose to be delivered to the house. There needs to be better signage and staff needs to be able to offer clear knowledgeable information pertaining to the store. I receive 2 "I dunno ‍ ‍ replies" to questions about products. On the upside, I did score on some outdoor patio furniture cushions on clearance in the outdoor center... so that made it worth the runaround.

Tonight was a perfect example of why. I watched a manager open a register, help one customer, and then close it--even as the line kept growing to about 15 people. That left just one associate handling a long line, while another cashier was tied up helping a group with a large purchase. Instead of jumping in to help during a busy moment, the manager was on her phone, then emptying trash behind the registers and adjusting carts--completely ignoring the line of waiting customers. The only bright spot was Carlos, who was working incredibly hard and treating customers with patience and professionalism despite the situation. He deserves recognition for how he handled things. It's frustrating because TJ Maxx has great products, but the lack of customer care at this location makes it not worth the stop.

Because today is ten percent off day (Tuesday) for customers who are age 55 and up, I thought that I should get a new cable for my phone to connect with the rental car. My old cable is frayed and cuts off when it's in a different angle. I did look at some other departments like pet supplies and art materials, but I don't really have space in my luggage. Plus... tax in California is higher than Hawaii's 4.712 percent tax! I found a rapid charge cable for a low price... plus ten percent off... and it works great!

The only English speaking employees are located in front of the store (that's what I've been told on more then one occasion) I couldn't find anywhere to try on some shoes after walking around, continue shopping (and picking up all the items and products that are all over the aisles that you can't walk through unless you clean it up yourself or backup in reverse and avoid the aisle completely. Then someone's dog urinated in one of the aisles, I didn't see it and my shopping cart wheels rolled over the urine and the wheels went from jacked up, hard to push (build up of grime, hair, dust balls, thread) to lubricated, slip and slide, grabbed onto the aisle shelf to prevent from bottoming out on my ass. There were employees nearby talking to the owners of the dog, as the manager was approaching and made eye contact with me as I was standing right there in front of that aisle. NOT ONE PERSON ACKNOWLEDGED, NOR APOLOGIZED TO ME. The Asian man that owned the dog sneezed and by habit I automatically loudly say"BLESS YOU!" to him. He stares at me, rudely and almost disgusted. I then proceed to let the employee know that I am not going to keep standing next to this puddle of urine (to make sure that no one else would slip or step in it) -- I still tried finding somewhere to try on the shoes in the shopping cart, I asked the Fitting Room lady, who told me to go up front to the register and ask them "they will know" -- like I'm going to stand in a long line with a few pairs of shoes to get up to the cashier to ask where I can try on these shoes, am I supposed to sit on the ground in front of the cashier and hold up the people in line behind me. That's ridiculous and not logical. So when my boyfriend arrived after getting money out of ATM, he meets up with me in the back of store, almost near the left corner. He went over to the furniture section of store and to bring me a chair for me to sit on so I can try on the shoes, as it was looking like it was going to be me on the floor. On his way back with the chair he stepped on one of those sharp, thick, tack/pin that they use to remove the security tags. This tack went threw his sneaker and sock and he took off his shoe and had to struggle to remove the tack, the bottom heel of his foot was bleeding. My bf is very soft spoken and didn't even complain, he did approach a nearby associate and told them what happened. They didn't speak English and took the tack from him. I mentioned something to the cashier as we were paying. Wasn't rude to any of the employees. Just in utter shock of the lack of care and accountability. Guess a tendonitis shot is in order this week. It's a shame, I worked many years for ROSS in South Florida back in the 2000's. I left that job on great terms. When I first moved to El Monte three years ago and spoke to the front desk employees about applying for a job there and I was told it'd be very difficult to work there unless I was bilingual (then I could have work in front of store /cashier) or if I only spoke Spanish then I'd be doing back of the store like stocking shelves and backroom work. Well .. my disability that prevents me from getting hired is that I only speak English. There's no employees like that there. Even with my past work experience with ROSS with a letter dated 2008 with high recommendations from my previous store manager, still has no merit. To think I'm qualified but won't even be considered due to my language barrier of English only. I'm hoping someone from corporate or the district of this location in El Monte would reach out to me to further discuss my concerns about feeling discrimination as a loyal customer that has spent way too much money there and also the discrimination of not having a fair opportunity for employment.

Need to grab something after work without planning your entire life around it? This place has you covered. That kind of flexibility is quietly underrated. I'll be honest -- I'm not exactly exploring every aisle like some kind of retail adventurer. Pet supplies and food are my departments, and I ride for those two sections exclusively. I come to this plaza primarily for Delicious Food Corner because my youngest daughter loves their shredded pork chow mein and wonton egg noodles soup. I've only done take-out, but maybe one day, I'll dine-in. I have also offered my patronage and support for Yu Cake. Their specialty is sliced crepes... very good, but a bit pricey. You're probably not going to find something with a long-shelf life, but thats the point. It's an outlet, that sells things at a discount. But mind you, some of the priced things are equivalent to those found at the normal grocery markets, so beware. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this Grocery Outlet because I get introduced to new items. They have a decent amount of parking, as well as a electric station for EVs.
