Great little place connected to a pharmacy (there must be a story behind that). We saw all the good reviews so we tried it. Homemade flour tortillas made right in front of you. Not the thin tortillas, but a thicker tortilla that was very, very good. Wife ordered a cheese quesadilla which she loved. I orders combo plate of a taco, cheese enchilada and a tamale. Great food, quick courteous & freindly service, and a great neighborhood eatery feel. The salsa I got with the chips is my new favorite and the chili relleanos are some of the best I've ever had. We first tried Duran's Station during a visit to Albuquerque in October 2020. This time we brought our adult children. The food was very good, the portions were large, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the carne adovada plate, a chicken burrito, and the enchilada and relleno platter. All were delicious. It's fun to watch the cooks assemble the burritos. I'm from out of town and I came here for lunch a few weeks ago after hearing so many locals recommend it. The place was PACKED! Luckily, I still was able to get an open table in the full dining room. My service was really good as my waiter and the busser worked well as a tag team duo to make sure that everyone was accommodated. I wish that I knew their names as I would love to shout them out specifically! I was brought complimentary chips and salsa, and I ordered a green chile cheeseburger and fries. The burger was large and was tasty! I also ordered a sopapilla, which I found to be on the crispier side than I prefer. Still, I can see why Duran's Station is found so highly among locals. This place has been in existence for 13 years. We have driven by hundreds of times and periodically mention "we should give that place a try" Well we finally did and now we're kicking ourselves for not going sooner!! You know you're going to get great service when your waitress is willing to joke with you right off the bat!! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Drink glasses never got close to empty and food came out fast and freshly made. Piping hot plates! Carne adovada had excellent flavor and heat. Beans were cooked and seasoned perfectly! The last time I was there I asked for onions, and they did not place any on the plate. I let it go. On May 18, 2024, I told the waitress 3 times to make sure to give me onions. Well, my plate came again with no onions. I got the waitress's attention to get onions and a sopapilla. Most New Mexican restaurants serve bread/sopapillas with the meal. I did not know I needed to order any. Ended up being 90 cents for that one piece, WHAT? It reminds me of Garcia's when they started charging for salsa and chips. I stopped eating there. Back to the onions I feel it's the kitchen help that doesn't read English so they omit the onions for that to happen twice. Next, I got beef enchiladas with hardly any beef in them. Where's the BEEF? It's like the kitchen helper worked at Taco Bell and just gives a small portion of meat in a taco. I had tacos there the first time I was there and they were meaty, not the enchiladas, very disappointed. The beans on top were dried out for being in the oven. Food is tasty yet if the kitchen help can't get an order correct, I will not be returning back there with so many other New Mexicans restaurants to go to here in Albuquerque. The soulful, soft rock 80's oldschool music was a plus. The place was very clean and tidy. We came just before the dinner rush. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Their take on traditional dishes were what we were looking for. Fresh, hot and flavorful. But the best service from MAYA was what gave this place 5 stars. Ok so I'm a self admitted red Chile snob. This place hit it out of the park: start to finish! They had my favorite beer Le Cumbre elevated IPA. Chips and salsa were Homemade and delish! I had the red Chile cheese enchiladas and my date had the carne adovada, both excellent. The biggest and best flour tortillas ever! It was crowded on a Saturday at noon and now I know why. Whenever I'm craving frito pie, Duran's is the place to go. Their red chile is amazing and just spicy enough. We like to do big orders from here for work, and they're so efficient with getting our food together. We've had a couple mishaps of a few missing items, but otherwise the food comes hot and fresh. I recommend getting the Fritos on the side if you're ordering to go because they get soggy so fast, and my main issue is the tiny amount of chips they give. But I'll keep going back because the food is so tasty! read more

We tried it for the first time today. I ordered green chile chicken enchiladas, and my husband had a breakfast burrito, smothered. My enchiladas were delicious. My husband thought the burrito was OK. The tortillas are really good as always. It was not full of customers while we were there, but I can imagine it would be very tight if there were more people in there, as all the tables are situated very close to each other. They give you a basket of chips with salsa, and my goodness that salsa was delicious. The food here overall is delicious. Was in town and wanted something authentic! Boom found it! This place is a gem in Albuquerque! The menu isn't huge but everything is made from scratch and the flavors are amazing! From when you walk in the smells will bring a smile to your face immediately! If it doesn't you probably are congested and need to see a doctor! We ordered chips and queso and it has a kick to it that will make your mouth feel some heat and also enjoy the flavors! My daughter got the quesadilla with chicken and hands down the best tortillas ever!! Made in house every day they are amazing and the quesadilla os huge! I ordered the chili relleno, and enchilada a plate. My friends ordered: *red flat enchiladas. *chile relleno plate. *Roast beef grilled tacos that my friend said were excellent. Never had anything like them before, highly recommend. All in all, a great experience. We thought that this was just another location of the other Duran's in old town, but were told that they are two separate entities. The chili is a little different and as my opening line said the real deal. We all broke a sweat due to the spicyness but it was way worth it. One of our go-to New Mexican restaurants here in Albuquerque. The convenient location was the initial draw, but the extensive menu and the consistently good traditional New Mexican food has been the clincher bringing us back regularly. They even have burgers for those who aren't feeling like it that day. The food isn't spectacular or anything, but that's not the point - it's all exactly what you'd expect for traditional food and it comes out perfect almost every time. Okay so I came on a really really busy Friday evening. It took about 30 minutes from the time I sat down to get my food. But their Chile is soooo flavorful that I didn't quite mind. I give them 4 stars for the food and prices alone. This is what keeps them from getting 5 stars: no WiFi, they don't split checks, no substitutions, and they only give you a small basket of chips and salsa free. I try to eat meatless 90% of the time, so the no substitutions bit kinds sucks. Also the bus boy, Sean, definitely needs to be promoted or given a raise. That boy was husslin'! Hands down, this is the best place for tacos IMHO. For lunch I had three good-sized blue corn flour tacos with chicken. My son had the same but with shredded beef. They were so good we're having withdrawal symptoms. As is the tradition with New Mexican food, you can order your dish with red chile sauce, green chile sauce, or Christmas (both). Tacos aside, Duran's green chile sauce is the best I had in NM. It's thick and mildly spicy. Though I'm less of a an of the red chile sauce, I really like Duran's Station's version. For those not familiar with New Mexican food, the red and green chile sauces are very different from red and green salsa. TIP: Chips are served as soon as you're seated. They're good, but save room for the main course. You can also order guacamole but it's no big deal (mostly more chips and a little bit of gauc). read more

Fast Friendly service, huge portions and endless water and tea (harrumph... business lunch too early for cervesa).
