The fresh ingredients really make a difference! This pizza is delicious. To top it off they have fresh tasty salads. I am a big fan of the arugula strawberry salad. My favorite pizza place. The staff are always great, and the owner is normally bouncing around the place checking to make sure that everything is great, or cleaning the tables. The food is amazing. This is truly some of the best pizza that you can have in the area. The ingredients are super fresh and plentiful. The atmosphere is great, and they have the TV on with sports with some music happening in the background. It's one of those places that is not hard to find, but you might miss it if you are speeding through the area (it is located right next door to the QT on Custer). Try the calzones one time (yes you should go back). Very full of your ingredients and large enough for two meals. Sunday they have $7 medium pizza night, and that is enough for dinner and lunch the next day. GREAT PLACE! read more

I picked up 6 14" pizzas from Durkins last Saturday for the guys in my automotive shop. Most of my guys had never enjoyed the pizzas from Durkins before. The smell wafting from the boxes was enough to stop the guys working. All my techs absolute loved the pizza. The crust was perfect and flavored just right. The toppings were excellent and the pizzas weren't overloaded like some other places tend to do. Everyone agreed that this is by far the best pizza they have had. Even though we all are way more pizza than we should have, the pizza crust was so good no one felt stuffed and slowed down their pace. Been looking for a new pizza place to enjoy. Saw the (almost) 5 star reviews and thought I'd check it out. I was greeted by the owner and he was very nice. The entire staff actually seemed to care about their job and the customers. The pizza was hot, fresh, and fantastic!!! Definitely worth it to go there. Also, the owner is local from Plano. Tried this pizza for the first time two weeks ago and have already made a return trip! The pizza is unique and delicious- has a great balance of sauce to cheese and is like a thin crust, until you actually get to the crust. The crust is amazing and reminds both my husband and I of garlic knots (yum). It's chewy and tasty and makes me want to keep eating more and more slices! It is also priced fairly for the pizza market in Allen/McKinney. I haven't tried anything other than the pizza, but would be willing to bet that it is equally as good! One caveat I will add here: if you are looking for New York style pizza, this is not it. It's not trying to be, so that's not a bad thing- just something I felt is worth mentioning as a NY pizza connoisseur, because I know how disappointing it can be when you have your heart (and stomach) set on a certain style of pizza. But do not let that stop you from getting this pizza because YUM. read more

If I had written a review the first time we ordered, it probably would have been 4 stars. But I waited for the second time around and glad I did. Ordered a L pep & mushroom, L cheese half olives, and an order of cheese sticks. This take out order was nearly $40. Pizza was paper thin (minus the crust), cold (we picked up within 20 min of placing the order) and had MAYBE 6 mushrooms on the WHOLE Large pizza! The cheese sticks was the biggest disappointment, the first time we ordered they were great. This time, my kids wouldn't even eat them. My eldest said, "we wanted cheese sticks not cheese STIFFS." To add insult to injury, as I was throwing nearly the whole pizzas out to recycle the boxes one of them had a long dark hair under the pizza. SERIOUSLY? Gross and disappointing. Save your money and order elsewhere. Or at the very least eat there so you can take it back. read more

They advertise that they want people to keep their money in McKinney and to stop supporting chain restaurants, but you get much better customer service at a chain restaurant! Customer service is a huge part of what brings people back. As a matter of fact, my husband and I received outstanding customer service a couple of doors down at Planet Smoothie when we went to get smoothies while we waited for our pizzas. Don't hire people who don't want to be at work! It's really sad because my whole family enjoyed the pizza, but that was definitely our first and last time going! read more

Called in for pickup togo during lunch hour. Their lunch special is a small personal pizza starting at 4.95 for a cheese. $1 for each additional topping. I got mushroom and italian sausage. $7 pizza and it was ready in 10 min when i arrived and piping hot. The size was quite large for me, i ate half and ate the rest for dinner later same day lol. Got pizza from Durkin's and was a little disappointed. Usually one of my favorites, and I went out of my way on the way home from work to pick it up. I found the crust was very doughy and not very flavorful as it usually is. I usually brag up there pizza, but last night was a miss for me. I will give them another chance to redeem themselves, but there are way too many pizza options in this area to slip up. We'll see next time..... read more

This is one of our favorite pizza joints. The all meat is delicious with just the right blend of meats. Don't forget to order the cheese bread..it's super yummy. If you're a dipper you'll want to order extra dipping sauce as you only get 1 2oz cointainer not filled to the top. I always order extra and it's never been a problem. I wish there was one in Plano as I can't get it delivered, even through external delivery sites (like favor). After a long day of work not being able to have it delivered has caused us to order from elsewhere. read more

One of the best pizza places I have been to! I love that they don't have pre styled pizzas you just simple pick the size of pizza you want and choose your toppings plain and simple. The crust has a great flavor I just love and its just delicious. Michael Durkin is beyond friend and makes you feel welcome the second you walk in. I love the decor, the music and just the fun atmosphere. And don't get me started on the ugly bread. OH MY GOSH! That stuff is heaven in your mouth. As it was our first time in, he explained the menu and took the time to answer questions (good customer service). Pizza was very tasty with a nice thin-ish crust (although a little soft for my taste). I did have a problem with my pizza ingredients falling off of my pizza when I go to take a bite...and i'm usually not a knife and fork pizza eater--so that wasn't fun. That being said, the flavors were wonderful and the price was not bad. maybe we just had too many things on it? I don't know--I think we'll go simpler next time. read more
