I gave this joint 5 stars because of the service and the sauces. The only thing I'd say is the Mac and cheese is bland and stay away from the pulled pork. The turkey, sausage and brisket is outstanding. The view of the Superstition Mountain is in constant view while you eat. The outdoor patio is where it's at, if weather permits, eat outside. New BBQ joint in town, and I had to check it out. The food came out lightning fast, which was great except it showed up like it took the scenic route to see the amazing view of the Superstitions before coming to the table. Lukewarm, not hot. Minor bummer, but I'll give them some grace since they're new. We went with the two-meat plate: fatty brisket and Hatch chili cheddar sausage, plus Gouda mac and cheese on the side. The brisket had that perfect smoke ring and pulled apart like a dream, and the sausage had all the green chili flavor a girl could ask for. The green chili cornbread with honey drizzle was so good, but next time I will ask for the hot honey drizzle. Appetizers were the Texaz Twinkies and pork belly lollipops, both worth the calories. The Twinkies were a creamy, cheesy, smoky masterpiece stuffed into a jalapeño that hit all the right notes without setting your mouth on fire. The pork belly lollipops were sticky, saucy, and practically fell apart when you looked at them. Dessert was a pecan pie tart with house-made whipped cream, light and fluffy, though I wouldn't have complained if the cream had a bit more sweetness. Drinks were on point. The Basil Bourbon Berry was refreshing and dangerously easy to sip, and the Church Music beer came out ice-cold and crisp. Overall, the flavors were bold, the presentation was fun, and the menu feels fresh for the BBQ scene. What you pay for is not what you get in size. Portion size is pathetic. If I'm going to pay 175 I better get full. Very disappointing,then if you go on their FB and say something they will block your comment. Very pathetic. I would suggest any place but this. Others BBQ restaurants give you what you pay for. Been here 2 times stand in line order pay then wait over an hour for bbq. The first time after an hour wait they came and found us to say they were out of what we ordered and out of everything but ribs Second time When we got the food the BBQ Bombs were burned to a dark brown all the cheese was burned out and the pork it was stuffed with was crispy! Then they told my wife they had no regular sauce they were out. The condiment station is a mess and is not looked after very well!The Jalapeño Cheddar sausage was dry and all the cheese was cooked out! The Texas Twinkies had no pulled pork in them. The Kitchen really needs to get it together! I would have sent them back but I was not going to wait again. We just chock this up to a loss The place was busy which is good but they just dont have it together. Lots of BBQ places not that far out that are slammed but no ridiculous wait times! Its BBQ. Phenomenal FOOD! Got the sampler and it was a great display of the amazing meats they are serving up! Menu offers something for everyone and the seating was able to accommodate our large group easily! Staff was extremely friendly and food brought to the table with a smile! Can't say enough about how great this place was. Parking was easy, bathrooms clean with a double purposed handwashing station, and once again great seating. Busy yeah but why would that ever be a bad thing. We brought 12 adults and four children and no one left hungry or disappointed. The sandwiches had sauce - didn't need any of the variety of sauces available separately (also dill pickles and picked onions). I liked the sauce on meat better than the original side sauce which felt neither zesty nor sweet enough ... but that's highly personal. Amazing outdoor area w half dozen fire pits. Only complaint per husband was no Thursday night football. The food took over 35 minutes to come out, and unfortunately, it arrived cold. I expected the banana pudding to be cold, not the meats and sides. That said, the Arizona elote and baked beans were very flavorful and absolutely worth the recommendation from the young lady at the counter. Of the meats, the turkey was the standout, with the cheddar jalapeño sausage close behind. However, the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork had no visible smoke ring and tasted more like they were oven-roasted or cooked in a pan with excess liquid rather than properly smoked. The Texas Twinkies were also disappointing. A jalapeño overstuffed with cream cheese and spices, wrapped in bacon, doesn't quite qualify as a Texas Twinkie. Hutchins BBQ sets the standard, and this version missed the mark. Overall, it's worth one visit to decide whether their BBQ meets your expectations, but I personally left a bit disappointed. What's this nonsense about a Masterchef??? The meats were terrific but I don't think the chef has eaten the side dishes that come with the meat! The cole slaw had a mustardy- chili powder taste, neither which belong in coleslaw. The french fries were old and dry- more like string potato chips and the Elote was gummy and only worth one bite. The pecan tart was tasteless and had a bad texture. I'm not a Masterchef but I am a very good cook. I would gladly serve the brisket, ribs and chicken to my guests, but nothing else. Tried Dutchman's Country BBQ tonight for the first time. The restaurant was very clean, comfortable and inviting. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Really enjoyed the vibe outside with picnic tables surrounding the stage and dance floor. Also fire pits and seating in the back. Very cozy setting! Live music was enjoyable, Canyon State Band played a mix of country and rock. The food was good, not great, I have had more flavorful BBQ. We had a Brisket sandwich which was good. The brisket was juicy and tasty, but lacked a smokey flavor. Tried the side of mac n cheese, tasted creamy but needed more spice. Also tried the chili, was pretty good. The loaded baked potato with pulled pork was good, but was a little dry, needed more butter, sour cream etc. Pulled pork lacked a smokey flavor also. Ended with a banana pudding for dessert. It was ok but needed a lot more banana flavor. Definitely a nice place to hang out but the food needs to be kicked up a notch. read more

This is the best BBQ in east valley we've had so far. Great Ambiance as well. We had the meat sampler which was great. All the meats was done great. We arrived about 6pm on a Thursday night. They we out of about 1/2 the menu. I wanted pulled pork but had to settle for St Lewis ribs. They delivered me brisket. I guess they ran out of ribs. I was so excited to have date day and try Dutchman's. After we ordered we barely had our drinks in turned to finds a table and the waitress can out with our food! We felt very rushed to just find a table. We ordered the brisket, sausage and Gouda Mac n Cheese, hubby also asked for a spicy Bloody Mary. I appreciate fast service but that was too much and the food was room temp at best. I like my hot food to be hot. The biggest disappointment was the brisket, we paid for 1 1/2 pounds of brisket and 3 dry slices does Not add to that weight, not even close. When my wife and I heard that Shaun O'Neale from MasterChef opened the Dutchman's Country BBQ restaurant in Apache Junction, we were excited to try it. Yesterday, Dec 13, 2025, we arrived at about 3pm to try it. The vibe for us was perfect. We sat outside in the back with a solo guitar player. We were impressed with then number of staff and how friendly they were. We dabble in home BBQ and tasted BBQ in at least 8 states. So we had to try several items on the menu because that is the best way to eat BBQ! We got brisket, pulled pork sandwich, spareribs, sausages, Texas twinkies, apple coleslaw, and chili/gouda mac & cheese. I thought the sausage was some of the best I have had. It is a fine grind and larger in diameter with good chilis and cheese. The Texas twinkies were also good. The pulled pork sandwich was good, but mustard BBQ sauce was runny and puddled in the dish and didn't have much smoke flavor. However, we were disappointed in the rest. The brisket was very dry, lacked flavor and was tough. It was hard to pull a piece apart. I think the precut the brisket and "died a quick death" but turning grey and drying out. It also lacked basic seasoning (salt/pepper). We had to bite through it. The ribs were very tough and had very little meat on them. Ambiance there is great. Gives.. San Tan Flats vibes. Firepits, live music, dancing.. Im a huge fan of BBQ, but I was really disappointed when I came here. The serving sizes for what your paying is not good. The food was very dry the night i went. Maybe it was just an off night..but the ribs we got were TINY and it was all kinda bland. I had the smoked turkey sandwich. There was so much seasoning on it the only thing you could taste was salt. No turkey flavor. Would not get again. The parking lot was so dark you needed a flashlight to get to your car. There were stairs were not lit. Please get a light in the parking lot and down the stairs before someone falls. read more
