Went back on 9-17-23. Pizza was much better than our previous visit a year ago. Ordered a Caesar…read moresalad, two slices, and garlic knots. Slices and knots came out first which is odd (usually it's salad first). I went to the counter and asked if they could make the salad to go since it was taking a while and also asked if they could put the dressing on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Well, we finished our meal, our salad was delivered to the table and of course, no dressing on the side so it was soggy by the time we got back to our home. Had to throw it out. Sauce for the garlic knots was ice cold (just out of the refrigerator) and here's a hint...serve warm sauce with knots or mozz stix. It's not rocket science. Overall, the pizza is exactly what I would expect for NY style if I were in NY or NJ. Staff still needs some more training in customer service.

Off a trafficked road and sitting in an almost decayed lot sits this pizza joint. It's…read morewell-staffed, the presentation of the pies is decent enough, and there's a rotating menu that changes each day. I tried the La Bruchetta slice and a more generic pepperoni slice. Their pepperoni was greasy, but not overwhelming, though it was pretty densely salted which off set the flavor profile of their sauce. I wouldn't say it was spectacular, though their La Bruchetta was exemplary. The sauce was flavorful, the crust had integrity, and it had a manageable amount of grease. The cheese was thin, as was the crust, but this is what you'd expect if a pizza joint that styles itself after New York. The ambience is typical of a dedicated pizza joint; the seating is a bit plain, not much going on in terms of music, but it's carried by other patrons and their interesting conversations. The staff is polite enough, but you can tell they get overwhelmed by all the patronage they receive, so don't expect to make small talk. Overall, it's a middle of the road experience. The flavors are good, for their specialty pizzas anyway, and the culture surrounding the restaurant is exceptional for a Cali pizza place. Very good for a relatively small college town in the Pacific Northwest. I'd recommend going at least once.

Upon recommendation for a great burger, we came here to try the food. It was later in the day,…read moreabout 7:30pm, two of us had the out and about burgers and, indeed, they were great! The meat was moist and tasty and well dressed with 1000 island, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions. We got buns that had no sesame seeds, which did not disappoint us. I had the cheese and garlic fries. I thought they were a bit pricey, but the order was a decent sized portion that four of us shared. The garlic was sharp and tangy, and appeared to be raw. The cheese was more like a "nacho" cheese consistency. If I had to do it again, I would ask if there was an alternate type of cheese. The side salad was generous and fresh, with the standard dressing options (balsamic, ranch, honey mustard). We asked for the dressing on the side and they were okay with it. The cup of tomato basil soup was generous and tasty. This is an "order, pay, and pick up food" place. So, if you are eating in, have someone grab a table if it's crowded. We placed our orders, paid and gave a name for the order. We were later in the day, so there were tables available. Our name was called and we got up to pick up the food. There are metal forks and spoons (also plastic), napkins, and condiments across from the beverage machine. Burgers are served in baskets, the salads came in not-paper bowls, and the soup was in a melamine cup. The staff was friendly and efficient in an open seating set-up. We bussed our own plates.

Fish was panko breaded and fried which is different than the beer battered fried I'm used too. Fish could have used more seasoning and I like my fries a bit crispier. However portion sizes were good, with 2 large fish pieces and a ton of fries! Needed more than the 1 cup of tartar sauce for the amount of fish. Chimichurri fish sandwich was good. Fish was flakey and the chimichurri gave a nice flavor and acidity. Staff was friendly and food was out fast. Overall: 3.5/5

Having our guests feast on the delicious grazing board and spinach artichoke cheesecakes while the pizzas cooked was the move. Other pizza's with loads of cheese and more dense crust can be tempting and even make my mouth a bit happy for moment but my stomach feels dense afterwards. The crust has chew and structure though not like a cracker (which was a pizza trend elsewhere that I wasn't liking but also not fond of the bread like flavorless thicker crusts (not talking deep dish which a place in Bay Area did well somehow). I forget the owner's name..begins with a P I think ....anyway very hard worker who puts his head and heart into producing his products. They do catering too..i looked it up on FB or Instagram and was amazed at how many other things he makes and how delicious it also looked. I'd give 6 stars if that was an option and they had some oregano or other herbs on the side to put on pizza if we like ...pizza places in general used to do that and haven't seen it anywhere. Oregano is easy to grow. Some might find it pricy for the lightness of the pizza so if you need a hearty meal their pizza might not do it for you. I have only had their pizza at the farmers market and it tastes so good i have to use will power not to eat the whole thing . I save half for the next day and sometimes add an egg on it for breakfast. Reheating in cast iron pan brings the crust back to life and I don't put it in the frig overnight to also keep the crust good and i turn the pizza upside down so crust not soggy but with his pizza no much chance of that cause he does some sort of dough magic that makes his crust hold and not soak up the toppings.
