A year ago, decided to install an air/furnace system in an older two-story home in Torrance, CA. Putting a new system in is a huge investment. So having the right company do the work was imperative. Found AZ through Costco Torrance. What a find! Not only is the Lennox equipment top quality but so are the people who work for AZ. They are professional, fair-minded and customer oriented. What makes them great is they are prompt, respectful about being in your home, pay attention to details, take great pride in their workmanship and problem solve specific to the situation. Because the installation went so well, as well as the first annual maintenance check, we decided to engage AZ to clean out the attic and put in new insulation. This time we ran into a problem about expected services. But our concerns were promptly addressed and the work was completed within the original time frame. Wanted to review the work done by Felipe Briseno for AZ Air Conditioning and Heating. I reviewed their diagnostic visit earlier and wanted to share more of the great service by Felipe Briseno! He did the work quickly and really cared about doing an excellent job. He was friendly, left the area clean and even wore booties in the house! We had a the condenser coils cleaned with a biodegradable cleaner, the capacitor motor replaced and the furnace wires managed in a much more organized fashion. Felipe also added insulation to an area of the furnace in the attic to allow for a more energy efficient functionality. Bravo Felipe! Thank you! read more

I thought I was going to be in good hands with this company but oh boy was I wrong. I gave my contact information to the sales representative and was contacted the next day. I spoke to Diana and I asked her about the mini split because it had been suggested. She asked me how the layout of my apartment building was to which I described to her. She told me that they can put the condenser on top of my unit. I told her that I need to ask if it's alright to put the condenser on top of the roof. As soon as I got the green light that it's ok to put the condenser on top of my unit I called her. Diana did not pick up the phone when I kept calling. I even sent her a text message and still did not receive a response. So the next day I still didn't hear anything back so I called and spoke to someone else. I told them I could not get in touch with Diana. I told Anna that I was informed that I can put the condenser on top of my unit just as long as it does not interfere with anyone's tenancy. So she set up a time and day for the inspector to come between 7pm-8pm the next day. She told me that she would call to let me know who I should expect and to confirm the scheduled inspection. Here comes the next day and I received a call from some guy that does not introduce himself before hand. Instead he just asks for me. I mean it's called proper phone etiquette when you call someone. It's not uncommon for people to want to know who the unknown caller is on the other end calling them. So anyway I got his name and his name is Mike. He asks me if he can reschedule the inspection to 3pm-4pm. I agreed and said yes then cut my errands short to get home and wait for him because I wanted to get the inspection taken care of. Now when I'm down the street he calls back and asks if he can come and do the inspection even sooner than 3pm. I agreed again and was expecting him in 40 minutes like he said. I get home and received an important phone call then he calls me which is weird. I gave special instructions of where to park and he codes to the gates which are all the same. I really didn't put that much thought into it because I have more important things I'm taking care of. Honestly he should have came up like he was supposed to. He then proceeds to ask if it's an apartment to which I texted yes. And then I texted him if he's coming up. He never came up to which it defeated the purpose of me providing all that information over the phone from the other day. If all the inspector was going to do was talk about the inspection over the phone then why the hell didn't he do that several hours ago. I practically wasted my time coming home early for him and he didn't show up. Not long after I just received that so called confirmation phone call I was expecting from Anna just 4 hours before the scheduled inspection. I told her what happened and asked her if it would be the same inspector and if he was planning on coming at that time instead. She said yes and that it was actually going to be at 6pm and not 7pm. I then asked her if the information such as where to park and the codes to gain entry to the property was in the computer. She told me yes and that she doesn't see any notes by Mike about him coming to my apartment building and having spoken to me. And just as I anticipated 6pm came and he didn't show up. Then 7pm came and he still did not show up. Now it's 8:15pm and I rushed out of my apartment with my 2 month old baby just to finish my shopping from earlier today. Seriously this company is full of unprofessional people that have no consideration for other people's time. If the service is like this then I have a pretty good idea of how much issues I'll have with them in the future. Now my baby and I have to spend another hot day in my apartment. Some reviews here are excellent, some are not all. My experience was excellent. We got to AZ years ago, through Costco, as many have. Our experience with them, after a glitch at the very beginning, has been perfect. Today we had a maintenance service call. Billy (a superior guy, smart, good humor, knowledgeable, diligent) did a great job. He explained everything which I really appreciated. We have a few issues that will need to be addressed at some point, but today's work was smooth and done well. I'm very pleased. My experience has been that all AZ technicians are excellent but I'd probably ask if Billy is available. He's a gem. read more

AZ reached out to me to discuss the issue. At first, the way the rep talked to me was a bit harsh but it soon changed. They had their senior tech come out to fix the issues. The tech is great. He was able to fix all the problems within an hour. If AZ provided such a service at first place, and didn't overcharge me, then I would've given them five stars. read more

What can I say - SUPER JOB WHEN WE NEEDED IT It was over 100 degrees on a Sunday afternoon at our home when the A/C quit working. I called AZ and received an immediate callback from the scheduler. She asked if I needed someone to come out that day but we decided to go with first thing the next day (Monday) morning. The technician "Joe" arrived at 8AM the next day and fixed the problem! We could not have been happier with the service and professionalism of the technician. He helped us better understand how the system worked and even helped us with our Nest thermostat, he even recommended a few things we could do to reduce the electrical costs of running the AC - nice. All-in-all we are very satisfied and would recommend AZ for any home HVAC repairs. read more

I cannot say enough.about this company. They are soooo professional. All of their technicians know exactly how to please the customer. Everything is covered and protected in the home. They tape walls, pictures, doors and put plastic on the floors, even in areas that they are not doing the work. Just because they are close, so they don't get the dust anywhere. After they were f I nished, they even vaccumed most of the house. Great followup upon completion by the office. All perfect. If you want to save miney, but receive the best, only call AZ. Here is a letter I wrote to the Better Business Bureau after hiring AZ Air Conditioning and Heating in Van Nuys California: Better Business Bureau AZ installed air conditioning unit wrong and then charged me for every time they came out to try and fix it. AZ installed mini split ductless system wrong. They came out 5 times to service it before realizing they screwed up. They finally fixed the original install but charged me for 5 service calls at 80$ or 400$ plus they screwed up the drywall by digging a big hole to fix their screw up. Service was rediculous. The secretary said I was a problem customer. They came out several times to service unit. They finally figured out that they installed the drain wrong yet still charged me for 5 service calls to fix their screw up. The drain was dumping water into my house and not outside as designed. I would like AZ to refund me $400.00 for the service charges they charged for problems that they caused but charged me. I would also like $100.00 for the dry wall and paint that they screwed up. AZ owes me a minimum of $500.00. If it goes to small claims court it will be $5000.00 for not only overcharging me but for lost wages. When I contacted them a year after we discovered their total incompetence, they told us the statute of limitations had run out. What a bunch of losers!!! This company is your worst nightmare. What a bunch of A-Holes!!! These idiots have an ice cubes chance in hell of ever being employed or being recommended my me. read more

We purchased a Lennox heating system from Costco and AZ is the contractor Costco uses for installation. Once I signed up at Costco for an estimate, I promptly received a phone call to set up an appointment for an estimate. Allen Shahir came to our house and thoroughly explained all our options clearly stating pros and cons of the choices and included all information such as what rebates were eligible and what permits and inspections were required. We called him back the next day and he promptly came back for us to sign the contract. The work was completed within a few days. It took one day to install and the heater works beautifully. The workers came on time and covered the entire area to make sure all our furniture was protected. They were polite, clean and efficient. AZ took care of coordinating the appointments with the state and city inspectors. Oziel waited in front of our house for the state inspector and was very polite and professional. He let me know exactly what they needed to do. I even had a baby sleeping at the time and he was so nice in trying to keep the noise and talking down. He managed the inspection and talked to the inspector for us nicely representing AZ. When the inspector left, Oziel notified me everything passed and presented me with a neat packet of papers including the permit and information on the inspection to keep with our house papers. We needed a complete system (including vents, ducting, etc.) and was confident that the Lennox system was logical and the company could do a good job after researching and working with their representative Ray Alba. After committing to a system and signing the papers the company said they could come out the next day. It was a very big job and the effort was led by their site supervisor Willie. They arrived as promised at 8AM and were here for over 11 hours (told you it was a big job). They were nice, professional, and hard workers. The team prepped well and left the house as clean as can be expected. The system works well and is very quiet. I am happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Nothing but trouble after charming sales pitch by Rashad Mashraky. This was a Costco contractor who we have been more than satisfied with. You would expect a 14k ac/heating system to work better than the 30 year old unit it replaced but that was definitely not the case. Rashad, who said to call with any problems never responded after numerous attempts. Office sent an inspector, Joe F out who reported installation was done incorrectly and needed to be corrected. This was their own inspector. After numerous calls and promises to get back to me with a resolution I have yet to be contacted. Issue has been reported to Costco. Just wanted to warn fellow Yelpers of my frustrating and expensive dealings with AZ Air Conditioning. read more

These guys however are all about the hard sell and upsell when they are with you. One of the reasons they "require all homeowners be present" - so they can try to push a decision / sign up same day rather than having you go out and get a few quotes. We got our HVAC system through Costco. The Lennox unit works well for the home. It cools the house as expected. I have no complaint against the actual Lennox cooling system. I am a little disappointed with the service contractor AZ Air. We were oversold on services that were not needed or provided. Sales representatives contacted us promptly. We were able to get an appointment with the sales-rep within a week and an installation date soon after. We had a working system within weeks after showing up at Costco. I just think that we got way over charged, we were sold on services that were not provided. During the consultation, the sales rep told us that the installers will have to run NEW connections all throughout the house, including new pipes, copper, electrical. He claimed that they have done a few houses in the community with the same layout and they know how to run everything. On the day of installation, the Lead Installer told me that everything will be very easy because my house was already pre wired, pre piped, pre "electrical-ed". He is saying the installation will be very close to "plug-n-play". As a home owner, I am glad that the installers don't have to drill extra holes and run extra pipes throughout the house, but at the same time I paying for the services of running new pipes, new copper, new electrical. If those services were not needed why am I paying for it? As a sales-rep that had seen the same houses in the same community, shouldn't he know that these houses are already pre-wired for AC? Shouldn't he know when he saw the connectors on the side of the house? Shouldn't he know when the homeowner pointed out at the connectors for the AC? The existing connectors were not hidden. I had my complete Heating and air conditioning replaced by this company. They did a great job my house was spotless when they finished . They Worked from 8 AM till after 7pm to complete the job. It took them a little longer because of needing an electrician to come and change a plug. The permit process was easy accept they had to come back and repair some cosmetic issues. The 2 who did the repairs did a great job and no issues with the city. I purchased this through Costco and the CASH card I received within was a nice added bonus! read more

Horrible company. They sale you a unit size that you don't really need. They installed a system on the roof of my townhome. Unit is too big for the pad. The did a terrible job at connecting the gas line. They did not ground the unit. They did the regular maintenance on the unit so of course their tech is not going to say that they did a bad job. A tech from another company was in the roof servicing the unit for my neighbor and saw how poorly it was installed and came to my door and told me. I have since had to pay extra money to have somethings corrected. And the Lennox system is not all that great. Stay away from AZ Air and Heating. Their prices are high and there will take advantage of you. read more

AZ is a vendor through our local Costco. From the numerous negative reviews reported for an AC quote and installation I consider myself extremely fortunate and had a very positive experience instead. I had to replace an original 40 yr. old gas furnace. AZ representative, Ivan Balcazar was prompt, courteous, and very professional. After a detailed inspection of the old unit and interior/exterior home premises he quoted me a choice of installation options along with Costco's added shopping bonus points with purchase. He also followed-up with emails and phone messages before the installation date. The AZ installers came on time, completely covered their work traffic area with plastic sheeting, spent the entire day working, demonstrated in detail the installation and the newly mounted touch screen thermostat and left everything cleaned and vacuumed when finished after leaving me operation manuals. The entire process all happened within one week from initial home visit start to finish. Salesman Ivan called for my feedback the following day. Its been over two weeks since; this Lennox unit is state-of-the art powerful, accurate, heat energy efficient and quiet. I couldn't be more satisfied making this decision through Costco. I know she went well beyond what I am ever used to and it was very refreshing and I am so happy with what I have received for my expense. The two men who did the follow up work (Jimmy and, I'm sorry but I can't remember the other man's name) after installation are also to be included in my praise. All the men worked very hard at a very complicated job. They obviously love their work and it shows. They were happy and helpful and resolved all my issues in a professional and kindhearted manner. They worked incredibly well together each fulfilling their complicated tasks quickly and moving on to the next. They showed great respect and kindness to me and showed respect and care for my property and its contents and the yard. I was most appreciative of that. Marino was an amazing leader who the men respected very much and were happy to be instructed and led by. They worked very hard for two days and the great results and inspections prove their expertise. When any difficulties or unexpected hurdles arose, Marino came to me and told me all options and what was best and he helped me every time to find the best way forward. That was so great for me. Most of all they made a very unsure situation for me very pleasant with great results and I was greatly relieved. All work was done to the finest quality and workmanship and it is evident in every part of the installation and the results. I am very grateful. The management and owners, also, made decisions that truly made it possible for me to pay for the completion of the project and I am very thankful to them. They matched the lower bid of the other Costco company I had chosen not to go with. They honored that bid after a large amount of time had gone by as I tried to save up the money. They stood by their work and resolved every concern I had with the integrity you only hope for in a company you are relying on to fulfill your needs. They sent out a crew asap to resolve a few issues I had after installation who resolved everything efficiently and quickly and with care. If you take a good look the installers are not professional I believe I seen them drinking on there break was a 100 degrees in ridge crest but still they should have waited. A few days ago, I ordered an air conditioner and heating unit from Costco. The sales person Eddy was quick to come out to give me a quote. He was extremely accommodating, friendly, patient and professional. He sincerely had my best interest in mind. The installation was scheduled for a few days later by AZ Air Conditioning and Heating. First the abatement team came in and quickly removed the old unit and all of the ducts. They were punctual, fast and clean! A day later the installation was completed. Angel and his crew were incredibly professional from the moment they stepped onto our property. I was greeted by very friendly employees and Angel gave a clear explanation of what was to take place during the installation, Our home was well cared for during the installation process and left spotless when it was completed. The crew was respectful, skilled and appreciative of our business. Could not ask for a better experience. I am also completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the new system! AZ just finished a semi-large job, installing a new indoor coil. Very pleased with all aspects of this company! Referred to AZ by a very good friend who has used them for years...and she had been referred to them by one her best friends, who has used them for many more years in numerous houses he has owned. Came home from vacay, A/C not working. Called AZ very late in afternoon and they were able to schedule technician DJ first thing the next day. He found entire system depleted of R22. Conducted a leak and pressure test next day - found indoor coils to be corroded (12+ years old) and needed replacement. Very costly endeavor, as these coils are being phased out due to all heat pump/condensors transitioning out of R22 usage (a whole other story). Also, I was told it would take until November (!) to get it replaced. Thus, called 2 other companies for quotes: one came, gave a quote half the cost of AZ, and said they could get the needed component. However they didn't even get the refrigerant type correct, didn't add in cost of R22 replacement, and type of coils needed. Then their price jumped up to AZ quote. Spoke to a 3rd company, very reputable, been in business literally over 100 years. They confirmed exactly what AZ said, and added that the company in Texas that makes these coils has greatly decreased production of them due depletion of R22. DJ pressed his co-workers over the next 2 days to find this component ASAP, and was successful. I very much appreciated his efforts all the way around: professional, knowledgeable, great communicator, hard worker. My interaction with office staff was perfectly fine; I read the other negative Yelp reviews but that was not how I experienced them. Early this am, Thomas arrived, with DJ soon thereafter. They had the component, and spent the better part of the day installing and testing at the end to ensure proper functioning. System works better than before as they plugged a couple of holes a prior company had left after replacing ducting 3 yrs ago. Thomas was just as awesome as DJ - knowledgeable, professional and a hard worker. I will be signing up for AZ maintenance contract soon, and will request these particular techs as they were outstanding. A quick note about all the negative reviews regarding linkage with Costco: something is definitely wrong there, so I highly suggest if you want to work with AZ, get Costco out of the picture entirely, just call AZ yourself, and not be associated with their Costco agreement. read more

AZ set up an appointment to have an agent respond to my house between 12 and 1pm. By 1:15, nobody had arrived, so I called to inquire. The falsely she claimed she had called to let me know that the agent was delayed and would not arrive until 1:37. I commented that nobody had called and the display was pretty poor for a company trying to win my business. The agent was rude, saying only "I'm sorry you feel that way." I immediately canceled the appointment, not willing to undertake an expensive project with an unreliable company. read more

We had our HVAC system replaced in June and installation went fairly smooth with just a couple of bumps in the road but nothing we couldn;'t handle. The reason for the low rating is follow up service and communication. Our sales person was knowledgeable, personable and accommodating until the job was nearly done but now to get the adjustments needed, the final touches on things promised and just to get someone to call back has been frustrating to say the least. They do not tell you what to do should you have follow up issues nor do they send qualified people to make the necessary adjustments to a recently installed device. It is sad to know that customer service is not just on the front end of the sale but extends until all the issues are resolved. I have been trying to hunt down the sales person or the only other person I have spoken to. I would not recommend this company just based on the follow up service and lack of follow through on their end. I guess if 95% of an installation is what you are looking for then this would be the company for you. If Edson is your sales person - get everything in writing first before agreeing to the work as his follow up skills and integrity have a lot to be desired. read more

I found them in Costco and my thoughts were that if Costco allows them space in there warehouse they have to be good and priced right, so why shop. Wow! Who did this company pay off to erase all the negative reviews! AZ ripped me off for over $500.00 They sent their C team over to install a mini split ductless system in my garage and it drained into the wall instead of outside because the installer didn't know what he was doing, They came out 5 different times to fix and charged me 80 bucks each time. I had nothing but a great experience with AZ starting with the salesman to the installation team. Since I live in a condo the unit had to be put on the rood with a crane. The crane operator really new his job and it went well. The team that worked inside was efficient and neat. This was installed in some of the hottest, humid weather we have had recently and the system works like a charm. A couple of errors came up on the panel and a technician was sent out within a day and "tweaked" the settings. I am happy and cool. AZ was recommended to me by a friend and she had a great experience too. read more
