Pending city inspection still, but assuming that goes well (no reason to believe it won't), I can't express enough how great the experience I had with AZ Air Conditioning and Heating was! First, I signed up through Costco and was immediately contacted by AZ for an appointment and estimate. Ilan was the gentleman who I met with and it was a great experience! He was at my property for almost 2 1/2 hours, was extremely thorough in explaining the options and recommendations, how things worked, break downs of all costs and what's included, as well as the installation expectations. The best part, there was no upselling, and I felt there was complete transparency throughout the process. I decided to move forward, and Ilan was able to have work start the following day! Next, I was very impressed with the installation process. I had extensive work done, which included installation of central air/heating (two separate systems because of the property's complexities), a tankless water heater installation and an electrical panel upgrade. I had old, gas wall heaters, a traditional water heater, etc. These folks do everything from A to Z as part of the process, including creating a new attic access (especially if you have an older home with an old, out of code access), removed wall heaters and capped gas lines, rough patch of walls, removed old water heater closet, etc. Manuel and Luis were spectacular, and there was a team of about 12 folks to get this done. Unbelievably, all of this work was done in a day and a half! Everyone showed up when promised, special care taken to protect my property from the work being done, they did everything they said they would and a cleanup that makes you wonder if they were even there! Finally, and this is extremely important to me and why I'm always skeptical of contractors in general. There was a problem with the AC/Heating unit's installation the following day, which was a Saturday. It wasn't a major issue that needed to be resolved that day, but the system was not usable until addressed. I called on Saturday, and they had a technician (Joe) contact me fairly quickly. I explained that it could wait until Monday, and he said someone would call me first thing Monday to set up a time. Monday morning, I received a call, and two gentlemen came by later that afternoon, spent about 20 minutes and had the system up and running perfectly. Some may view this as a negative, but for me it was a test of how a company responds when something's wrong. I didn't have to chase them, they were extremely professional, had a sense of urgency, and were apologetic for the inconvenience. Joe even followed up the following day and asked if I'd like him to stop by just to confirm everything was fine! This company goes the extra step! I cannot recommend AZ enough and I only wish they could do all the work that I need on my property so that I'd have the comfort in knowing it will be done quickly and be done right! read more

I'm very disappointed. Part of it is the product Lennox and part was the contractor, A-Z. I had asked for a system that could be controlled via WiFi from the beginning and was told I would get one. When the contractors showed up they did not have a WiFi thermostat and they told me the office had failed to put it on the order but, they could let the office know and replace the one I had. I had also asked that the thermostat be placed in the master bedroom and was told they would do that when they returned to install the WiFi thermostat. After repeated requests on the phone, in person and via email I still have received neither. This has resulted in a very inefficient system for the almost $13,000 I spent for the upstairs half of my house. In addition they came out to do a test more than 6 months afterwards and then gave me "results" saying the air is unhealthy and I need to spend an additional approximately $1,500 to upgrade to a better air filter!! I feel completely taken to the cleaners over this. I do not recommend this company. They were very friendly and efficient about getting my money in the beginning but no follow up when there was a problem. I was told over the phone that the new thermostat had been ordered and they would contact me when it arrived. I followed up with them a couple of times afterwards but got no response back. System was ordered in January 2020. The last contact I had with them was July 29, 2020. read more

Manuel and his crew installed a new central heating/air system in my house in one day! They were neat, cleaned up the place, and were very considerate during the entire process. They also pulled out two obsolete wall heaters. Due to a delay from Edison, the new electrical panel was installed the following week. No problems with the new Lennox system, and it is super quiet..The inspector that came by noted "I never have any problems with these guys" so I felt that everything was done right. read more

I signed up for a quote for an AC system at Costco. The next day I received a call from Damian, we scheduled a meeting for the quote. He was very good at explaining the work that would need to be done and answering all my questions. I decided to purchase the system. The AZ team came 2 days later and got everything set up really fast. They were very friendly and were very good at keeping my house clean. Once everything was installed, the guy in charge, Gabriel Lozano, explained how everything worked. Also, Damian came by to double check that everything was installed correctly. Since the authenticity of my review was questioned, I was going to upload a picture of the paperwork I got during my visit from Joe, but I don't see that option here. But I will address Zack's defense of the HERO program. Note that, in response to my suggestion that HERO is a high fee, high interest program, Zack states "there are no application fees" and the interest rate depends on the term. I direct you to the HERO website, which conveniently provides a sample contract. Just google "sample financing documents HERO" and click the first link, which will lead you to a PDF. Note on page 23, you see on a hypothetical project amount of $13,250, the administration and recording fees are $1,232. In addition, the interest you will have accrued BEFORE YOUR FIRST PAYMENT is $1,368. Therefore, the total amount financed on a $13,250 transaction is $15,850. In total, for your $13,250 A/C, you will pay a total of $23,918.20. Zack says this makes A/C more affordable for homeowners. I'll let you decide. It sounds to me like saying loan sharks make gambling more affordable. Again, because of the fees and interest involved, I understand why they will continue to sell it, and sell it hard. Zach says "certain items are tax deductible from property taxes (see a tax professional)". First of all, I don't think there is such a thing as deducting from property taxes. I think maybe he is referring to deducting this on your federal and state taxes because it is billed through your property tax bill. Secondly, I would have been fine if this was the way the program was presented to me. It was not. I was flat out told the entire amount was deductible from federal and state taxes and that in turn this would lower my total out of pocket expenses. I did contact my accountant on this, and he told me it was hogwash. I have since looked into it, I even talked to the HERO representative that AZ Air had call me. And I can tell you what they are telling you is aggressive sales tactics at best. But aggressive sales tactics were all I got from AZ. Zack suggests that I should call him so that we can resolve all of these issues. That is funny. Thanks Zach, but I have no interest in doing business with your company. Crappy work Avoid buying from Costco with AZ HVAC as the contractor! Bought from Costco Torrance the Lennox Heating system. They left cracks in the ceiling and damage to walls. The guys were sloppy, messy and left screws loose. The guys also were lazy trying to run the gas line on the outside of my house. Abe and Zack made every excuse not to repair the damage. I would avoid using Costco for HVAC, if I were you. I am having to go to Costco upper management to get them to repair the damages. This is the worst contractor experience ever. May have to go to contractors state licence board, BBB and Small Claims Court. read more

Just a quick update. One star ONLY b/c there are only three people that seem to have any pride or integrity at this company (and b/c yelp forces you to give at least one) - our sales guy, Jonathan and the QC tech, Rubin, and his partner who came out to fix the crap install job that was not finished (though the installers apparently thought it was b/c they didn't come back the following day) the week before. After staying home 4 of the last 5 days waiting for installers who did a horrible, unfinished job and appointments that were either late or no show (and I had to call every time to find out where they were - nobody bothered to call and let me know that they would be late or weren't showing up), I had an electrical inspection scheduled for today. I have a 30' open ditch in my backyard and everything is dying b/c I can't turn the sprinklers on (muddy ditch will not pass inspection), so I was eager for this inspection to fill in the dirt this weekend. Guess what? I never received a call this morning to schedule the final time and when I finally called...another scheduling error, sorry, can you make the appt tomorrow instead? Seriously? No. I can't. This is a joke - a bad one - and it's on me, at this point. I've been told that supervisors would call - they never have. I've been given multiple 'I'm your contact now' numbers and contacts - they haven't been helpful or followed up. Such a poor experience. I even called Costco and filed a complaint. They basically sent the complaint back to AZ. Useful. Not at all. At this point, I feel completely taken advantage of, and that is a terrible feeling. :( I'm out $10,000+ and my hands are tied. This two star review is strictly due to AZ's dramatic price increases. In Oct, 2013, AZ put in a new HVAC system for me. At that time, I gave them 4 stars: their work was professional, fast, and their workers responsive to fixing a few things that got messed up. In addition, their sales rep spent a lot of time with me and was very professional. Six months later, I asked them to install another system and their prices have jumped almost 30%! The owner said he'd lower the price by $500 but he was still THOUSANDS more expensive than several of his competitors--including American Comfort in Anaheim and Conditioned Aire in Northridge. No point doing business with AZ anymore. Their Costco agreements must have gone to their head. Even when their prices were more reasonable you still don't save any money going through Costco, and you have to lay out more to get a $1,000-1,500 Costco gift card. read more

I have used this company twice, once for the installation of a mini-split system (air conditioner and heater), and the other time for the repair of a heater (one of the furnace motors needed to be repaired). They really go above and beyond to provide reliable and excellent service. They were on time, very professional, friendly, and the rates were very reasonable. We had an estimate from this company as we got referral from costco for installation of gas furnace. The presentation was good and everything seemed nice and they offered financing option so we told the presenter to give us a couple of days to think about it. The company representative guy took all my information for the financing the same day. After I discussed with my husband, we decided it was overpriced and we couldn't afford it so we told him not to proceed. However, I got a new credit card approved from this company approximately a week after I cancelled the deal. I don't know how this company is working. I never gave them my permission to get me another credit card for financing. read more

I purchased my unit through Costco over a year ago. I should have done better due diligence on pricing prior to making my purchase. I overpaid on my unit because I thought I was going to get a fair price through Costco. That was not the case as you can look at the rest of us on Yelp who purchased from AZ Air through Costco. We were notified immediately by AZ after our install that if we provided a favorable review on Yelp we would be given a Starbucks gift card. This doesn't sit well with me and seems unethical. Since posting my first 2 star review over one month ago, AZ customer service has contacted me. At first I thought they wanted to know how my unit was operating but the basis of their call was to see if I would remove my Yelp review. I voiced my concerns and requested Zack call me personally. If you notice on the reviews, he's the one who posts the comments afterwards. I was told he was out of the Country but would call me once he returned. Two weeks ago I received several calls from AZ customer service. It was the same person I spoke with before. He asked if I had given any thoughts about removing my review? I mentioned how I never heard back from Zack. It's obvious to me they don't give two sh---s about me as a customer. I have since voiced my concerns to the Costco Executive Office regarding this company and their pricing. I've been assured by Costco they are looking into the matter and my concerns are being taken seriously. If you see this company in a Costco take my advice and go the other way. You can get a much better price if you do your homework. Don't assume the Big Box retailer is going to guarantee you get the best price for your money. This was not my experience. They also offer a service plan which is priced well above other companies out there. Trust me on this, I've done my homework. Horrible, horrible and did I say horrible customer service, tech service and they are dishonest on top of it! Never use them for any HVAC service, you will regret it. I called for service on my less run 1 year old AC system that was broken. PROBLEM #1. Why did my original system last 25 years and their system broke 2x's in one year? They promised me a call back on two separate days, no call back. I finally called and got an appointment the next morning between 9-12:00. I called at 11:58 and they told me that my appointment was not until 1:00-3:00. LIE! I stayed home from work to make sure that I was there. Now it's 3:00, still no technician. He was busy and at 5:00 still no tech. They didn't even call I had to call to find out what was going on. NOW ITS 7:30, guess who is knocking on the door? He looked at my AC unit and said it broken and has to order parts. Nothing from them the next day,NOTHING! I had to call again and they told me I won't get my parts for another day. SOMEBODY DIDN'T ORDER THEM. It does not get any better but you get the idea. Because it was under warranty I'm stuck with them. I would do anything to get away from them, they lie and their techs do lousy work!!!!! DON'T LIVE MY NIGHTMARE PICK A REPUTABLE COMPANY! Btw, they were the COSTCO CONTRACTED COMPANY. My friend had a full system installed by them - via the CostCo offer. I too used them to install split ACs and to do some other duct work in the past. They were great when it came to installations and selling things. It's the service I'm writing to complain about. My friend's new AC (well 2 years new) stopped working. They sent someone after a few days. That person gave her one opinion that didn't make sense - basically selling her more expensive things and telling her that the system was not powerful enough for the home. If that's true, why did THEY recommend that size of system. Then the following week, another guy came out. He had another read on the matter - the coolant needed refreshing. He did that. The system seemed to work. He left. Now, a week later, the condenser is not working at all. We've been waiting all day for them to come. We were told that even though this was the 3rd time we'd had to call them in - they could only fit us in in the afternoon between 3 and 6 p.m. ... but just maybe they'd get to us earlier. On the hope of that "maybe" we've canceled plans and sat here all day. Only to get a call saying that we were "next" but the window was getting pushed back. This is BS! You can see how much the owner/manager cares about the comments here... because he just goes on the reviews and gives the same answer, saying, "Call our customer service number," We did! We're writing here because we're frustrated with the way your customer service treated us!! In my book, if you've sold me a brand new system, and this is the 3rd call in 3 weeks about it breaking down, I would rush some techs out to make sure the system works. It even included a new electrical panel. They were the most polite workmen I've ever known. I chose AZ because my neighbors used them and were very satisfied. The three technicians worked diligently and explained everything they were doing so there would be no surprises. They protected all the working areas to insure there wouldn't be any damage to our floors and cleaned up as they worked. The installation team arrived on time and ready to work. Everyone on the team had an assignment and went right to work with confidence and professionalism. They wore clean-room booties when in the house. They were kind to my animals and careful not to let them out of the house and yard. A supervisor and quality control guy talked to me and that was nice. The lead installer also talked me through the process and kept me informed throughout the day. He took time to teach me how to use the online interface and the App. We tested the heat briefly and then we cooled the house off so nicely. The system is quiet. If you knew upon your 2nd visit (from the 1st) that you needed tools to access the ducting, etc why wouldn't you have those tools upon your 2nd visit? Then Mike insisted upon getting "permission" on a unit that is completely owned by us, no mortgage at all (yes, we own everything on the inside of that unit, which means we don't need "approval" from the association to get anything done. Shockingly enough, the company that put the HVAC unit in after your cluster muck of employees ineptitude didn't even care about asking the association for "permission". The association thought your request for "permission" was laughable and kept saying "we don't need to give permission, you own this unit and you can do whatever you want with HVAC. read more

We have been using AZ Heating and Air for a couple of years. Up to now this company has been satisfactory. However, recently their complete lack of integrity and responsibility has been overwhelming. We are an elderly couple living in a condo in Simi Valley. They cane out because our furnace stopped working. They diagnosed the problem as a circulating pump. They said they would try to find a pump or put in a heat pump. After waiting a few days, we began to become concerned. Finally, they called my husband and said they had found a pump back east and needed 170 for a deposit. Then six days later I checked my credit card statement and found no evidence of the charge, so my husband called the supervisor, Ronnie Vartanian. He said that they had not found a pump yet. In other words, it was just a lie. All he said was sorry. Needless to say, we still have no working furnace. I am very disappointed in the lack of care and professionalism of this company read more

Eeek is right! I called to get an estimate, they sent a technician (very nice man) who checked out the unit and proceeded to write up a $100 work order for telling me that my system was flat and needed a replacement. Duh! I already knew that. That's why I called. And the estimate was way higher than 4 other companies I contacted who did not charge me $100 for an estimate. In fact, all the others provided a FREE estimate. I just find the company dishonest for not telling me in advance there was a $100 charge for providing a quote. I would never have called if that was the case. I got a much better unit replacement for several thousand dollars less than what they quoted. I do want to note that this happened back in 2013. I just found a copy of the work order and after almost three years it still makes me upset. Needed to set the record straight before shredding old files. read more

We've been using AZ Air Conditioning for many years now. Our technician Eddie has been servicing our home for the last several visits. He is punctual & explains all of the issues (if any) that our unit has. Also he had recommended during his first visit that we redo our insulation in our attic/crawl space. We finally redid the insulation in Spring 2015 & it has made such a difference in our heating/cooling of the house. I called AZ to get an estimate for AC installation. I used my Costco membership for member pricing. Ilan came, reviewed my heating system and showed me pricing. He didn't over sell me on a system I didn't need. He was forthright and candid. One week later, Rodrigo (Nino), Rony, Tavo and Diego showed up on time and did a fantastic job! They were professional, polite, covered anything that they might walk on and finished in 7 hours! The office staff was also very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this company! We had purchased an AC and heat system through Costco, and Ric's team through AZ Air and Heat, arrived today sharply at 8:00 am, ready to work. I was introduced to everyone on the team that would be in and out of my house all day. I was expecting the amount of work to take days, yet they pulled it off in one. They began by thoughtfully covering everything in sight with plastic to protect our furniture. Then they began by removing our house's old 1950s furnace and installing a technologically advanced system. Throughout the day, Ric made sure I was aware of everything being done to my house necessary for the installation. Joseph did a complete inspection and also went up into my attic and informed me that although the unit is working great, my ducting is insufficient and undersized. Not surprising for a 30 year old condo. He explained everything to me in very understandable terms and i signed up to have the job done. They give you an appointment and calls to confirm with a different time knowing they are wrong. Trying to make you think you wrote the wrong time. The company has no more chances with me. Our sales person Ryan was very helpful when picking out the unit that would best suit our house. Ryan was a nice friendly guy. When the team came to install our AC they were super nice. The man 'Nino' and team were on time, friendly, and kept our house clean while they did their job. AZ was actually my second estimate. My first estimate lasted about 15 minutes and nothing was explained, so when Deshun came and explained EVERYTHING, it was well worth the 30 minute meeting. I had some anxiety leading up to my installation as I was going from a wall heater to a full AC/Heating system. Rego and his team showed up at 8 AM and immediately got to work. He confirmed where I wanted my vents and my thermostat. They covered EVERYTHING in plastic and left my house without any dust. I was so very pleased with the process. I am a long time costco costumer and I have confidence in not just their products but also the company that Costco work with to provide services for their members. AZ Air conditioning and heating did not disappoint. When scheduling the consultation appointment, Daniela who answered the phone and set up appointment for me was so pleasant! I had to reschedule the appointment a few times due to our escrow closing date changes. She was very patient every single time, and even remembered and asked if we closed escrow, congratulated us when I scheduled the final appointment. Tal came on the day of the consultation appointment. He gave us a thorough introduction and explanation of their products. He's professional, very friendly and courteous. He arranged everything to be done in a snap of fingers. The Installation appointment was just a few days later, and only took a few hours! The technicians were very respectful of our home and got everything done efficiently and beautifully. The cover for the machine was missing, Tal hand delivered it afterwards, also put it on to the machine for us! I am very satisfied with the whole experience from the beginning to the end.
