Dylan Blue has become my go to spot for pedicures, specifically their Signature Spa pedicure. The salon is pretty and the spa chairs are spaced out so you don't feel like you're in the middle of the other clients' business. From the spa chairs, and the service which includes foot and calf massage with a nicely scented scrub of your choosing, it's a lovely experience. I wanted to love this place, it was so cute inside and the employee's were nice, I went in 08/26/2025, to get my nails done. First of all, when they were cutting my cuticles, they ripped off all of my skin, my pinky finger bled nonstop for the full hour of my appointment and 3 other fingers bled as well. Having said this, I was getting a french manicure, so there were just streaks of blood in the clear coating. On top of all of this, my GEL nails, started chipping within just a few days of getting them done, and I don't even work enough with my hands for them to have chipped. I ended up just ripping off the remaining gel because it looked so tacky. Highly recommend going elsewhere if you want your nails done without injuring you and without getting chipped within a week. read more

I have been going to Dylan Blue Costa Mesa for 2 years now. I am getting married a week from yesterday, and requested Holly/Xuan for my wedding nails because she's done beautiful nail art in the past. I was initially very happy, but after leaving the salon, I realized that the base coat was too sheer and you could see the space between the white tip and my nail bed. I called and made an appointment for the next day, today, to try and fix it. She made me text her photos of the nails (you can clearly see the issue), said she wouldn't be able to fix them without completely taking them off and redoing it, which she refused to do. I suggested we do a line of silver glitter to fix by addition. While I love how it looks, she made rude comments the whole time she was fixing them: "You're spending so much money on your wedding." "You have to fix your skin before the wedding, you have pimples. Your makeup is too sheer, you can see it." "I like your old hair color better. You can tell when you're tired and not taking care of yourself." "Your husband is going to have a hard time with you if you want everything perfect." I realized she was feeling defensive, so I calmly responded: "I have one day where I can at least try to have everything perfect, so if I can fix things, I will. This was a lot of money." I spent $90 on my GelX set plus a tip (tipped her additionally today for $30 total.) Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I recommend you do the same. Nobody should be spoken to like that, least of all a bride a week out from her wedding. I have enough stress and nonsense to deal with without a nail tech berating me. read more

Today I visited my favorite nail place and was ready for total R&R, that didn't happen. I have been coming here since it opened and gradually visited less and less. This visit just sucked. I have never seen a nail tech try as hard to put the least amount of work, as I did today. She literally kept telling me to try to relax and I couldn't because she wasn't doing anything. She tricked me into a paraffin wax, I wanted a regular manicure. When I questioned her after she said it would be too much work after. And my feet! Wth!! I agree with the previous reviewer about Holly. :-( I was a walk-in and didn't like the manicure she gave me. I got gel; I had to tell her I didn't like how the polish touched my cuticle and the unevenness of the polish job. She kept telling me she would fix it later, so after all three coats we sat there with the drill for an hour fixing the cuticle line. I'm always so much happier with a gel manicure if the technician takes proper care to ensure a great polish job the first time around. I think the manicure I walked out with (even after all the fixing) looks just okay. The polish job is bumpy. :-( Helen did an awesome pedicure! I've been coming here off and on since they opened. Beautiful and upscale decor and all of the ladies are very sweet. My mom has dementia and says random stuff and they always are so lovely about indulging her. Which I so so appreciate ! I have been to Dylan blue 2 times now and both times where great experiences; I love the inside it's very clean and have a classy look and very spacious. My nail tech was Daisy and I could not say enough good things about her she is so good at what she does and very detailed... she saw I had a vision for the design I wanted on my nails and she delivered she made sure they were exactly how I wanted them. It took me a while to be able to write this review as it really affected the happiest day of my life. I came here days before my wedding and I had an awful experience, I came with group of friends and they gave us our own area which was nice but I felt I was in high school, I can't laugh or move, they weren't the most welcoming to a big event. My biggest problems were: 1- the pedicure didn't time my massage, they typically would set the 10 mins alarm and show you the timer, she didn't even give me any message, didn't show timer literally nothing and when I asked, she said oh I have it to you and I said but you didn't even show me a timer or anything 2- I didn't like how my nails turned out. The total was $139 for a mani and pedi with gel and when she felt that I was an unsatisfied customer she offered me 10 dollars which I took offense to and I told her no thank you, I don't need your discount. My friend ended up talking to them after I left and they told her, she can come tomorrow and we will do it for free, but I was so tight on time that I didn't go, that is the only reason I am giving them 3 stars instead of 1 star! I regret coming to this salon. I went because it's close to my hair salon and thought it would be convenient. My experience started with the owner laughing at my name and trying to say something about my parents choice in names but I interrupted him shared my thoughts and we were cool. But then I went to my chair and my nail tech came at me with "you be sweet to me I be sweet to you but if you are rude to me I'll be rude right back" I was like whoa, where is this coming from. I must have been in a patient mood cause we smoothed it out but then she was complaining about how the nail techs don't get timely lunch breaks and things like that. I tried not to engage. Well the worst part of all is my pedicure turned out horrible. The pedicure tech cut off so much around my nail bed that it had been sore and red for days now!! I asked her to not cut so much but she kept at it saying I'd get ingrown nails. This place looks nice and is big but the service is poor and the quality of the work is subpar: When I was leaving I heard a client asking the same nail tech that had worked on me "are you ok? She gave me 2 cuts and that's never happened before :(. I'd like to give this place a second try when I'm in the area, but for now I'll leave with my stinging (from all the oils and alcohol) cuts. I hate dropping names, but just for the sake of her to take better care of her future clients, her name's Lynn. Other than the cuts, Lynn did a good job. She also was nice in getting me another color for my mani, once I changed my mind after she did my pedi and had to wait for it to dry to move around. 10.17.2020 Hubby wanted to golf nine holes at Costa Mesa Golf course so Little O and I went to get a mani/pedi...if it was safe. I found Dylan Blue nearby and read the Yelp reviews. This place was a great find!!! After a long 7 months of COVID lockdown and closures we were WAY long overdue for a mani/pedi. I have never been to a Dylan Blue Nail Salon. This location was arranged and decorated beautifully. There was modern music playing at the perfect level of loudness. The TV I was looking at scrolled relaxing nature pictures. We walked into this salon and were seated in less than five minutes after speaking with the front desk employee and washing our hands in the bathroom. This salon has covered all bases for safety for both their employees and customers: -Temperature check at the door -Distancing of customers/chairs -Customers provided gloves to choose polish color -Customers wash hands before treatment -Employees wear masks -Customers wear masks -Clear barriers between nail tech and customer -Plastic liners in pedicure tubs -Single use of all lotions, scrubs, masks Jenny did Little O's mani/pedi and was very patient considering Little O was more focused on whatever movie she was watching on her phone. ‍ Tracy did an amazing job on my pedicure. She was very thorough and my hot stone massage felt so good! Get the Organic Pedicure for that perk. The lady that did my nails initially kept telling me I should change my design because it would suit me so I did, thinking she was right, and I stuck with these. She began doing my nails she tried doing French but she gave me a triangle instead of French. I told her I didn't want it like that but then she said she couldn't change it. However her friend came over and said she would fix it. Except her client told her to hurry so she didn't do a good job either. After that I told her there were air bubbles but she said it it wouldn't show once she added the last coat but she lied. I love Dylan Blue. The whole place is beautiful from the second you step in. I first met Mia who gave me the most amazing Organic Spa Pedicure and Wow, my feet felt so much better than before.
