Wow definitely what they would say don't judge the book by it's cover. This business make great steam and fried fish, I love the concept of choosing your own little bags of vegetables which can only be steamed. I ordered the steamed salmon with potatoes and corn on the cob. They season your order to your liking along with your choice of vegetables. They don't offered seating for eating in only take out is offered. The prices are reasonable and won't put a dent on your budget. I definitely recommend this location it's located in the north east part of the Bronx.

I've been eating Dyre Fish Market for years. You can't go wrong with steamed seafood. They have a large selection of entrees for you to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for crab legs, shrimp, clams, salmon, scallops, porgie fish, whiting fish, red snapper fish, or even king fish, this place has it all. You can pair your steamed fish entree with either veggies (they have; broccoli, carrots, potato, okra, pumpkin, spinach, corn, string beans, and mushrooms to choose from all bagged up) or yellow rice. Other side orders includes: French fries, crab sticks, crab cake, fruit salad, calamari, veggie salad, or seafood salad. Even if you're not in the mood for steamed seafood, they also have a fried fish option which is served with either yellow rice or French fries. So how it works is that you pick up a basket and select what type of seafood you would like to either be steamed or fried along with any combination of vegetables. After, you hand your basket to one of the workers that will begin to first, 1. Wash your seafood and vegetables and then 2. season your food. I usually tell them to put all of their seasonings and make it EXTRA spicy. Please let them know of any known allergies! Next, they will put it in a steamer and give you your ticket number (do not lose it). This process takes about 25-30 minutes depending on how busy it is inside and what type of seafood you selected. They also accepts EBT and has an ATM available. However, you may use a card as a form of payment. Pros: 1. Great location and reasonable price 2. Food is always tasty and consistent 3. They have a large selection of seafood 4. They have somewhere where you can sit and wait for your food if you choose to do that 5. You select your own seafood and vegetables 6. You can always call ahead and place a order for pick up. Cons: 1. When it is busy, it is busy and the wait time is usually longer 2. Most times there are no street parking 3. They are not open 24hrs Tip: *Tell them to leave the juice and add butter* just like that!

Good steamed seafood to go. They have combos listed that include a vegetable and of course you can add more vegetables if you would like. I personally prefer to pick my vegetables myself because I have seen a few that have seen better days. Once you pick your seafood and vegetables, they are washed and then seasoned and steamed. There is also a fried menu available. They are extremely busy during peak hours especially evenings and weekends. So I recommend going early or calling a head.

One of my favorite things are getting my seafood straight from a seafood market, I'm so happy this place is not far from my home. I found the place nice, the workers friendly, I didn't see no roaches as other ppl mentioned in their review, the floor a little wet bit what else can you expect, the food is always fresh and delicious and the price is also reasonable. Can't say anything bad about this place so far so good. If you're around go grab yourself some fresh food.

This is a small little fish market on the corner of Dyre Ave aka a little hole in the wall of seafood goodness. Food is cooked how you like it: either fried or steamed. All the seafood is out on Ice for you to put in a container to hand to the guys by the steamer so that they can season your food in-front of you. Don't forget to pick your side items! I was with four people and we all ordered the following to share: shrimp, snow crab legs, and steamed salmon with sweet plantains, potatoes, corn on the cob, broccoli, onions, and peppers. We also ordered fried shrimp and a fried red snapper. Both the fried fish and the fried red snapper came with a side of yellow rice, which we chose as opposed to a side of fries. All of our sides except the rice were way too over cooked. Maybe they can figure out a way to throw in the veggie sides in a little after the fish is in the steamer because they almost all turned into mush. Not sure if this is the texture they are going for, but we all agreed the sides were way too soft (still tasty because of all the seasoning). Overall, super delicious, a bit of a wait for your food to cook, sides a bit too soft, employees all super friendly!

WOW this place is a gem in the Bronx. I was feeling like some fish and just happened to be in the neighborhood. I'm not from the area, and the place is very unassuming. It's a combination of fish market with take out fresh cooked (steamed or fried) seafood to go. The entire place smelled delicious as you wait for your food. The fish selection was ample and fresh. None of it had any fishy smell and given the amount of people that came and went while I waiting for my food, you know it's fresh! You pick what you want, they weight it and you tell them how you want it cook. The seasoning is sprinkled on generously and bam it goes into the steamer or the frier. This is definitely I place, I'll go back to work whenever I'm nearby. Heck! It may even be worth driving there just to pick up some fresh seafood.

I enjoyed the fish here. I had no idea that this little establishment existed! It's a great place to stop by if you're a seafood lover and want a healthy lunch or dinner. The low prices are also an additional plus. Best crab cakes I've ever tasted...That's saying a lot. I dig the option available to have your fish steamed instead of fried and there's a good selection of fish choices. I will come back to try the shrimp!!

So you go in there and it's like an assembly line. You pick up the tray and put the vegetables and seafood you want in it. They season it any way you like and then steam the food. The prices are reasonable and it taste out of this world. As long as I have lived uptown in NY I have never been here and I'm going to keep going back.

Love this place! Everytime i crave for seafood and im in the area, i always think DYER FISH MARKET! i really wish they had something like this in Northern NJ. I have ordered the Salmon fried and steamed BOTH really good! Make sure you add butter after they steam it. If you want it steamed, you can add packets of veggies for an extra cost (one packet is free). Ask for extra tartar sauce and put some lemon juice on ur stuff. Fries are crinkle cut just the way i like it! The best fish sammich ever! Yess i listened to you yelpers and finally decided to get the flounder on whole wheat. Man OHHHH man!! Where have you been all my fish sammich eating life?! Put some tartar sauce on it and you'll be in heaven!

I was looking forward to eating this food when I got home but it wasn't the greatest. I got steamed fish/scallops with veggies and also fried whiting. The best was the whiting. Save your money . The guys are rude also

Next best steam & fry fresh fish market since the one on w. 140th closed in Harlem, prices are good spent $30 on steamed shrimp and scallop combo, salmon steak, 2 pieces of red snapper fillet and 4 packs of veggies. $15 a piece for 2 people not bad perfectly seasoned and buttered . If you order a #'d combo fried or steamed you get a side of rice or fries.

So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

I remember when Fish N' Ting first opened several years ago and I'm pleased to know that this family run establishment is still kicking. I would put it in my top five list for Jamaican restaurants in the city. The menu is wide and varying and accommodating of different diets. If you love jerk chicken, you need to try it here! The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!

Adorable cozy light up front entrance, host/waiter greeted us by the front door and seated us right away. We tried the brussel sprouts (can't remember the name on the menu) aw man it was delicious! It had so much flavor and the perfect amount of crunch without it tasting burnt. We also had the baked clams, sadly that had zero flavor. I even dipped it into the sauce and yeah that didn't help much at all. I've had better. Now the GNOCCHI was interesting since it was in red sauce rather than the typical pesto cheesy sauce. I'm not too sure if it goes well together? I had a few pieces and the texture was great but I felt like I needed that cheesy flavor? Might just be my taste buds searching for something similar. Which btw my portion was half of the dish. Our waiter was nice enough to split the dish into 2 portions. That was def appreciated as many don't do that. Dude.. the creme brûlée?! I could have licked the plate clean! Def not my style but I was tempted! Haha it wasn't crazy sweet which is nice since you don't feel a cavity waiting to happen? It's a must try! Super curious about the other dishes. Highly recommend giving this spot a try! Btw there's a full bar so cheers!

The first thing I tried was the macaroni pie, now for those of us like me who have never heard of macaroni pie it is the traditional pan macaroni that is cuttable into squares. The macaroni had cheese on top, very dry with no seasoning. Now what I mean by seasoning is it didn't have any salt at all not even a hint of accent or something to give it just a little bit of flavor. It was barely edible, so I was a little apprehensive about my main course. I ordered a small oxtail and I was so disappointing until I could not eat it. It was not flavorful and it was very dry.
