My Air wrap broke and customer service replaced it with the short version because the normal long version wasn't in stock in their warehouse. I called this store and asked to exchange it in store with their inventory (as I have long hair and wanted the longer curling barrels) and the associate said yes. When I got to the store, a different associate said that wasn't allowed as the inventories were different and that the person I spoke to must've been mistaken. She very kindly gave me (for free) both sizes of the longer barrels to use with my new Air wrap. I was very appreciative of her generosity and willingness to solve this for me as best she could. She demo'ed first , then patiently saw me every step of the way - parting (very, very important especially when you have a lot of hair), clipping, then getting the curl done working the way from the side, back, then to the top. She would jump in when I wasn't sure how to work it out (trust me it's a little complicated the first time you use this - the hand holding your hair and the other hand holding the styler - it's already quite an exercise). I booked a hair styling appointment during my stay in NYC. The store was cool and staff were friendly. The associate was patient in showing me the different hair machines and even went out of her way styled my daughter's hair. I was tempted to buy both Corrale and Supersonic but the total price was beyond my budget. The associate offered me 20% off. So I decided to get both. Not until after I checked out I found the 20% was only applied to the less expensive item. So I requested a refund and decided to buy the Supersonic without any discount. At that moment, the associate asked me to wait and went into a separate office. After 5 mins she came out and said "I tried hard and worked it out it for you! We could offer $100 off the Corrale for you because of my miscommunication with you. " I did a quick math and figured out $100 was like a 20% discount on the Corrale assuming I would still get the 20% on Supersonic because she was trying to make it up for me due to her miscommunication. And then shortly before she was checking me out, she told me I could only get a Corrale with a different color from what I wanted to purchase originally and told me it was just a color difference. I agreed with it thinking she was super nice trying to help me so I should not give her a hard time, although the color was not appealing to me at all. She checked me out on a handheld device. After that, I found out there was no discount on Supersonic after all. I felt I was misled this time because "she tried hard and worked it out for me." Later I went on the official Dyson online store and found the purple/pink Corrale was on promotion ($100 off) anyways due to it was an older model. I felt I was scammed. The sale pitch of this demo store definitely put a dent into the good image of Dyson products.... I could have walked out of the store with a Supersonic without discount but with a good experience at your store. I am returning both items. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful. When I had enough of the "fact finding" the floor salesperson knew enough to ask me if I wanted some time alone with the product. I went into the store to buy the Dyson Airwrap. As someone who has long, kinky hair, I only let it air dry or have it professionally blown. Although I wanted the Airwrap, I was very intimidated by it. The woman who helped me, Courtney, couldn't have been more amazing than she was. She was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She did a demo on my hair so I could see it in action and she had me do sections of my hair so I could get the feel of it. She gave me tips and encouragement. Customer Service is AMAZING at this demo store. I arrived a bit early for the Airwrap Demo class and was offered water, coffee or tea while waiting for the class to begin. Courtney did such an amazing job teaching us different techniques for our desired looks. There were 3 of us in the class with different hair textures and lengths and we were able to see the difference in the curling rods and other tools that came with the Airwrap. Courtney was able to work with the texture of all our hair, knew how it would hold against the Airwrap and understood a lot about the technology behind it. Having this demo class allowed me to understand the different techniques of using the Airwrap which is really useful considering the price of the product. OMG such great customer service in this place! I was just walking down 5th and noticed there was a Dyson store so I asked the boyfriend to come in with me to see if they have any new product that we don't have and may need. We were greeted upon walking in and helped right away. I was helped by a gentleman who directed me to Courtney she was super sweet and personable. I wanted to check out the blow-dryer so she took me and sprayed a small part of my hair to do a demo for me but she was not satisfied because I have so many different textures to my hair. She asked me if I had like 30 mins or so so she could do a full demo and I was like sure. To my surprise she washed and did a full blow out for me. I was so surprised. I never expected something like that to happen. We were also offered water and tea. Moral of the story thanks to their great customer service and me loving their products. I bought the blow dryer. Like I said never would have thought I would have experienced that going into the store but I'm appreciate that I did. I know the company minds reviews, hoping they offer bonuses to persons identified in reviews. My dyson cordless vacuum dropped, sustaining a broken internal part. (BTW people, don't let the upper motor part drop, it does crack/brake easily from the weight of the motor). She was very helpful and provided the info I needed. Dude - this place is dope. I never thought I would be interested in the latest vacuum cleaner but this place is pretty sick. The store is massive by NYC standards and the demos that they have installed really give you a sense of the ingenuity behind Dyson and their unique engineering. The staff is fairly knowledgeable though they had to defer to the manager for some questions I had . I don't care if you don't need a vacuum cleaner, Dyson has some product that is going to make your life better. Check out their hair dryers- space age air hoops is what I call them. I was in need of a vacuum cleaner and stood at a downtown Best Buy considering my options (found some vacuum cleaners under $200 but worried that this meant low suction and limited durability). I called the Dyson store to see what they had in stock--this was forty minutes before closing time--and received helpful information from a woman on the phone. I decided to hurry uptown to look at the vacuums within my budget. I got to the store twenty minutes before closing and was warmly received by the staff. Alexa, who I had spoken to on the phone, showed me the vacuum cleaner she had told me about earlier. I mentioned that my apartment had hardwood floors and she offered me a part that is designed for this. All of the staff were very friendly, in spite of being at the very end of a long workday. With the vacuum you get a 2-year warranty, which makes the higher price far more worth it than cheaper vacuum cleaners that could break weeks or months after purchase. I was blown away by my experience at the Dyson Demo Store. I had purchased the Airwrap online but had trouble getting the styles I want. Decided to seek help at the demo store and I am so glad I did. I was helped by the world's loveliest Dyson employee Katrina, who I had previously spoken on the phone with to enquire the availability of in-store stylist. Katrina told me over the phone that the services had been reduced to comply with the safety guidelines, but she would do what she can to help me. I walked into the store and found Katrina right away. I told her my struggles with my hair and immediately she started throwing ideas out to help me. After a few options, she guided to an attachment that would get me the hair style I wanted. Katrina was friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, kind and certainly went above and beyond. I usually don't leave comments on retail stores, but I have to do this one to recognize Katrina for making a Covid shopping experience so enjoyable and being one of the highlights of my 2020. I had a great experience at the Dyson demo store. I was in the market for a new hairdryer, and signed up for a complimentary blowout offered by the store. I have to say, I usually wouldn't put down so much money for a hairdryer (!!), but after reading about how quickly the Dyson one works, and how it won't burn your hair, I was intrigued and figured it'd be an investment. At the store, Alexa did my hair -- she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the product and showed me all the tips and tricks with using the different attachments. I definitely asked a lot of questions and she was happy to help! The store itself is also beautiful -- a nice little refuge from the busy 5th Ave outside. In response to my comment below, the Dyson staff went out of their way to improve my experience. I had a follow up appointment and liked my experience. The staff was professional and my hair looked beautiful after my appointment. I purchased the product and I LOVE IT. My hair is so healthy and shiny. I don't normally write reviews but my experience here was outrageous. I was supposed to get a consultation by a professional for a $550 product but what I got was a $2 experience. The person who worked with me was rude and she did such a horrible job on my hair that I looked like I stuck my hand in a toaster. When we started, she was so rough with the comb and hit me on the head. When she sectioned my hair, she stuck her nail in my ear. I had to tell her multiple times that I did not like the style she started before she changes her styling "technique". Her tone with me was incredibly unprofessional. Again, I am not usually a complainer but I would not want anyone else to experience what I experienced. It was a waste of time. I also met Brandon who kindly offered beverages. India introduced the machine and thoroughly went through what each specific part did and how it was styled. I visited the store several times and each time I had a great experience. I would like to acknowledge Catrina who each time was very professional and thorough with her explanation of the product. On my last visit she recognized me and welcomed me. I asked for a demonstration of the hair dryer to see I if I could manage doing the several attachments. She took her time showing me how each one worked. I told her I would be back to purchase it the following Tuesday. Well I decided to go back two days later to buy the dryer. When I arrived the door opened and Omary welcomed me and remembered me. I was impressed. I waked to the back to ask for Catrina but she was on a break. I was told she wouldn't be back for another 20 minutes. Since I was in a rush Nathan asked if he could assIst me. I thought they received commission on the sale so I felt compelled to wait for Catrina to return. I then learned they don't receive commission so it didn't matter who I purchased it from. I felt so important because both Nathan and Omary gave me their attention and made the experience to purchase seemless. Since there was only 10 minutes left on Catrina's break I waited for her to thank her for all of her assistance and telling her she was the reason why I came back to the store to purchase the dryer. I was checking out their new amazing Air Wrap product, when the lovely manager, Victoria, offered to demo it on my hair. Typically, they have licensed beauticians on-site to demo their fantastic hair products, but Victoria is not a stylist - and look what she was able to to with my poker-straight hair!! When I arrived, they had a security person open the door and I was welcomed by two employees without any pressure to buy. The highlight was when I met my stylist for the demo. India was fabulous. She was respectful, patient and did a great job explaining what she was doing. She was a fabulous teacher. She made sure I understood how to use each tool. There was no pressure at any time for me to commit to a purchase. I want to see how the curl holds before I decide if I want to spend that amount of money on a hair tool. I came into the Dyson store after reading a multitude of reviews, trying to find which vacuum was right for me, and the differences between the various models. Not only was the store beautiful, but the entire staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Kevin spent nearly an hour with me, trying out different models, demoing products, and answering every question I had. The manager Gregory was also super helpful and even threw in a couple of free tools in addition to the 3 extra that you don't get when purchasing on amazon. I'm usually an amazon shopper for this type of thing, but buying from the store is 100% worth it. It's a better deal, easier to understand the product differences, and really excellent customer service. They also price match with amazon, and I think I now get 20% off any non new dyson product (I've got my eye on the lamps next...) Thanks again Gregory and Kevin for all of your help! read more

We had a great experience at the store with one of the managers, Kevin, and another gentleman who helped demonstrate the vacuums for us. We were deciding between the V8 and the V10 and definitely didn't feel like anyone was trying to up sell us despite the $300 price difference and us being on the edge. In the end we went for the V8 after they patiently demonstrated the suction power of each, repeatedly poured out dust and glitter for us to test vacuum off of both carpeted and hardwood surfaces, and giving us a detailed explanation of the various models and attachments. read more

In all honesty, the store looks super dark and impersonal on the outside, but on the inside, I got an entirely different impression. I have been eyeing the Air Wrap product for the longest time and wanted to see if the hype was all that in person. Mark, the stylist for the AirWrap, was amazing. I have naturally curly hair and that day was one of the only days I've ever worn my hair out naturally with the intention that I'd try the AirWrap there. He was so sweet and gave me a demo while being genuinely kind and supportive of my curly hair. The AIRWRAP is AMAZING.
