The heater in my home was working erratically. The E & A technician arrived when I was told he would. He was friendly and professional. He was also very honest, telling me that my heater did not need new parts. It was simply a matter of cleaning some contacts and making sure that they were making a good connection. Came out to have my A/C checked out through my home warranty company. Technician lied on the report to have my claim denied because I was unhappy with him telling me that it could cost $2,000 to them for uncovered repairs. He told the Home Warranty company the damage was caused by Pet Urine. When I called him to ask if he said that he hung up on me and than blocked my calls. I would be careful with this company. E&A provided verifiably false information to my home warranty company. They stated we have only 1 return duct when in fact we have at least 2. They also stated our return duct is 1-2" which is inaccurate and highly improbable any home would have a 1-2" return duct. When I inquired about the discrepancy, E&A would not reassess or address the fact the technician provided false information. This company scams home owners and insurance companies. I would recommend never using this company and going with one that is more reputable. read more

My heater wasn't working. It turns out I had a furnace issue. I started a claim with First American. The process for requesting went well. I was connected with E&A Mechanical for my issue. I got a call the first thing next morning and an appointment was set about 2 days out. Since it wasn't really an emergency, I was fine with that. I received a 2-hour window of 10am to 1:00pm. I received a GPS tracking link from the dispatcher with estimated time of arrival, the name of the technician, and a picture of him. My technician was Karen Gspoyan. He showed up. He was very kind, quick, and professional. He let me know exactly what was going on and proceeded to take care of the matter. He spent about an hour taking care of my furnace issue. He called me over to show me what he had done and what to look for in the future so as to avoid any further problems. There was nothing amazing or over the top about this service appointment. He simply made a promise and kept it. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. We moved into a new home that needed A&E to come out and inspect the Hvac unit that was installed before we moved in. I am on the phone with them at this moment, trying my FIFTH attempt at getting this done. The first attempt I missed an entire day of work and they sent the wrong person with no ladder. The second attempt I missed an entire day of work - and they never showed up. The third time, my husband missed a day of work and they sent the wrong person without a ladder AGAIN. I have called SEVERAL times to try to get help and they either promise me things they cannot follow through on - or they do not call me back. They clearly do not keep notes on calls because I have to re-explain myself every time I call. I am trying to be flexible - but they can't even guarantee me a window of time. Not only that - they continue to put me on hold in the middle of talking. I have talked to several people - but most recently I talked to someone named Wendy who was extremely rude and combative and could not even explain why the first three attempts to schedule the inspection went wrong. All I want is to schedule an appointment - have the right person show up with a ladder and to get this done. Apparently, that is too much to ask. I would HIGHLY avoid ever doing business with A&E unless you like crippling stress and 0 customer service. read more

E & A Mechanical, inc. is a deceitful, dishonest company. I am very upset with being lied to and taken advantage of as a single Mother who doesn't know anything about HVAC systems. After 2 service calls unable to diagnose or repair my heater, E & A Mechanical, Inc. lied to me stating that my entire heating/AC system needed replacing. I was told verbally that there was a crack in the firebox with a dangerous carbon monoxide leak. I was quoted $2690 out of pocket costs for "modifications". For a second opinion I hired another contractor who determined that there was no crack or carbon monoxide leak. (tested with a smoke bomb) All I needed was a high grade tune up. After having the tune up, my system is working perfectly. My bill for the tune up was $421.87. E & A Mechanical, Inc refused to put anything in writing other than what modifications were necessary. When E & A Mechanical, Inc. lied stating there was a carbon monoxide leak he said that our detector didn't read it because it is installed in a bad place, which isnt true, it is located right next to heater. When I questioned him trying to understand the problem, he raised his voice and became defensive. We were without heat, enduring below freezing temperatures from 11/19/22 - 12/19/22. One full month we waited for E & A Mechanical, Inc to propose their fraudulent repair. One of our residents is elderly with special needs. This not only was physically taxing but also financially. We had a very large electric bill having to use space heaters. Please don't allow these predators into your home and always get a second opinion. read more

Was wary because of other reviews, but it turns out it was misplaced. We put in a claim with American Home Shield at night, and was assigned E & A. Instead of waiting for them to call me, I called the first thing in the morning. I explained I have small kids (including a newborn), and they were able to assign a technician the same day. The tech showed up early, and did a great job. There was hemming and hawing about issues or concerns -- he just diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. He also explained to me how to properly maintain the compressor unit so that I could mitigate future issues. He didn't rush through anything, and seemed to make the effort and take the time to do a thorough job. I'm sure I'm one of the lucky few to say that my AC is fixed after less than 18 hours of submitting a claim. Nevertheless, I'm thankful, and plan on using these guys for regular maintenance/cleaning. read more

Thank God for this company and for Alex! My home's furnace wasn't working and literally within minutes of me filing my home warranty claim, E & A called me offering to come within the same morning! Alex was very courteous and updated me on when he would be arriving. Once he arrived, he got straight to it and now everything seems to be working great! To be honest when First American Home Warranty assigned us E&A Mechanical my expectations were low after reading many 1 Star reviews. So far my experience has been great. My A/C unit hasn't been cooling the house and it started making loud noises. The customer service lady isn't rude as others have complained and the technician that came was on time and cordial. The verdict was we needed to replace the ac condenser and update a few things since our system was old. They worked with First American Home Warranty and provided us with the Out of Pocket costs that was reasonable. They didn't know which brand/type of A/C unit we were getting so we had to call First American Home Warranty. After getting all the information we needed to make our decision, we decided to go with E&A and signed our contract to have them replace our A/C unit. They were not able to provide us with a specific date as to when they'll come back out but I do understand that parts may be hard to come by due to COVID. I hope they come soon though because it's been so hot. I'll provide an updated review once everything is installed and finished...hopefully it'll be a 5 star! read more

First American Home owners insurance (DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL) sent them out to troubleshoot, they replaced the blow motor with a defective unit and returned only to replace it with another one that makes loud clinging noises and refuse to come back and fix the problem because they claim it's been over 30 days!!! Greg was very professional and honest. He gave us a thorough assessment and recommended to not replace our furnace despite what other AC companies advised. He showed us carbon monoxide readings, pictures of camera probe showing the condition of vent ducts. Greg went above and beyond what others were willing to do. My AC stopped working and the home warranty sent these guys out. He arrived quickly and identified an issue with Freon. He told me that if there were more issues to let him know and he'd come back out. Well, the next morning the AC went out and that was frustrating. I called the office and they told me they couldn't come out for several days. I mentioned that the guy had said he'd come back and so I asked her about that and if I could talk to him. She said she'd look into it... He called back personally and came over to fix our problem. He said he would hold off on the prior payment until we got to the bottom of it. Initially AHS assigned my request to Relaxed Heating and Air. Relaxed Heating and Air came to my home for 3 times, keep taking photos and did nothing. I got upset and filed a claim against AHS. Finally got E & A Mechanical to help. Karen and his son are amazing. They came on time and fixed my AC issue in just 30 mins. They also give me useful suggestion regarding upgrade the furnace. The air con stopped working and Fidelity send this company . The technician came the 1st time and he said its a blown fuse. So after few week again it stopped again and they change the fuses again and he said its an electrical issue. E &A said it need 40amp to support the air con unit. So fidelity home warranty sends an electrician, the electrician came and He said the house breaker doesn't support 40 amp and would need to rewire which is very expensive. He looked at the AC unit and said IT DOES support 30 amp so the electrical is NOT the problem.  We had the aircon for over 10yrs and did not have any problem with 30amp. Had to call another company to resolve the issue. The problem was it needs service. Your company had came twice and misdiagnosed the issues and could potentially cause big electrical issues.    I had to hire another airconditioning company to fix the problem.  This is very dissappointing and will for sure be on your feedback. read more

They wanted to charge me $$$$ saying that my a/c system basically needed to be replaced and because it is 10 years old, I have to bring it up to code. The home warranty company won't cover it. My compressor in my AC was broken and I was forced to use this unprofessional company through American Home Shield. They installed it improperly the first time and nearly blew out the replacement compressor. They came back and "fixed" it. I just had another company out that showed me how they jerry rigged a second compressor to the system and tripped the shut off valve so even if the coolant was empty the compressor would still run. The wires have been burned, the compressor burnt out and the whole AC system ruined. Absolutely awful technicians who do shoddy work. American Home Shield should also be put on blast for using these guys. read more

E&A Mechanical has come to my house twice, having been dispatched by my home warranty company (AHS). The first time was to fix my air conditioning unit, which had also had had a problem a month earlier. The technicians told me that the capacitor was broken and showed it to me. The previous contractor supposedly had replaced it, but had not. E&A's technicians showed me that the bad capacitor was old, and they showed me a new one for comparison. Then they put it in. The second time was just recently to fix my furnace. My furnace is from 1991, so parts have been replaced over the years. This time it was the motor, so the fan wasn't blowing anything (heat, a/c, or just plain air). Alex told me what was wrong, replaced the motor, and cleaned the dust. He was very polite and clear. Whenever I request service through AHS and they dispatch E&A, E&A calls me right away and schedules the first available appointment. Both times it was the next morning. I generally have decent service with other vendors also, but I find E&A to be better. read more

Go with ANY other company and I'm sure you'll have a better experience. Our AC was working but just making a scraping sound. They came out, broke our AC completely (in a 100 degree+ week), then left and didn't fix it for 6 days. They first came back 3 days later, ordered a part, another 3-4 days waiting for the part to be delivered (we all knew it just needed a new fan motor, they easily could have ordered the part earlier). So all in all, they didn't fix our AC for over a week even though THEY broke it. To make it much worse, they wouldn't even apologize or take responsibility for breaking it, instead they tried to imply I was lying about it being broken (what incentive would I possibly have to lie about that?...) and they were generally very rude on the phone, not even trying to get us an earlier appointment since this was 100% their fault. Unprofessional, unreliable, incompetent, and rude. read more

I don't normally write reviews but I have had it with this company. 1) They go to the rental and assess the unit briefly and tells me I need to replace the entire air conditioning unit. FYI, I found someone that found a fix and it's now been over a year and it's working. 2) I have paid a bill that I keep getting billed for. I read a lot of horror stories about getting services through home warranty so my hopes weren't really high when I had to call First American Warranty for my HVAC unit repair. They linked us up with E&A Mechanical. It took a total of two months before I finally got my AC replaced, but that delay was due to my home warranty's lack of efficient and swift service. E&A, on the other hand, was always available whenever my home warranty scheduled them. They always show up on time. They do great work and set expectations properly. My unit had to be completely replaced apparently. I got a lot of back and forth change of schedules, delays, and so many runarounds from my home warranty. E&A was there to update me though and they were empathic that I had been waiting for a long time for my AC to get fixed in this valley heat. And when the home warranty FINALLY scheduled and approved my replacement, E&A was quick to get me the closest date possible. They called on a weekend to schedule me on a Monday. Amazing! They also said technicians will arrive anywhere between 8 and 11AM. And they sure did, 8AM! I cannot be happier. The technicians worked fast and thus very time efficient for me, their customer. I highly recommend E&A. I am now enjoying my cool home. read more

They fixed so many things in our "new house (55 years old) that it seemed like we were starting with new construction!

They DONT WANT you as a Repeat customer!!! Perfect the first time, super unreliable and gives you attitude the second. Makes you sign contract before scheduling and prepay future visits! Try to use language barriers as a way to charge more, don't have standard charges, and try to make it impossible to speak to the owner for complaints. -------- My first experience with them was beyond great. First American hired a Russian speaking guy who yelled and broke things and these guys were called out shortly to fix stuff and did a fantastic job. When we decided to have them do our ac maintenance, we called them and they said we have to SIGN A CONTRACT FOR TWO MAINTENANCE and PAY FOR BOTH before they can schedule. I specifically asked for a certain day and time and they said yes they have availability during that time. I asked them to send over the contract, to which I noted there were errors. I responded with corrections and no replies. I called back after a few days asking again for fixes and and another person replied the email confirming the email but no updated contract. Replied them asking if they will send me a contract, if not I'll look elsewhere for services. They shot the contract over. I signed it in a heartbeat and sent it over, called to schedule to which they now said that time slot had been booked but will try to make an apt either right after it or make the morning apt happen. Day before at the end of the day they told me they changed my apt time to when I'm not available. I called them and they told me to either reschedule or they'll come or during a time that is never previously discussed. After a repeated few times of emphasizing that I want to cancel because they aren't trustworthy anymore, she scoffed and gave me drama attitude and said she'll close the " claim" and slammed the phone on me. ------ UPDATE: After posting this review and receiving a comment from the owner as you can see below, I was given a call by Carmen who asked us to give them a second chance- to which I shouldn't have. We modified the contract to try one maintenance instead of two. However, the technician that was sent out was rude, arrogant, spoke English but not fluent. I gave him the benefit of the the doubt that there was a language barrier, but that didn't stop him from being rude. Spoke to Carmen on the phone after being informed that we were low on freon, she told called him to talk to us directly. He came in the door saying that it's $50 a unit and $100 for both and proceeded To add. We had to stop him in his tracks to ask. After attempting to ask him how much freon was left, he avoided the questions and talked about other things continuously for 7 minutes before arriving at the answer of it being an 8lb tank per unit and there was only 2lbs left and wasn't sure how long it was going to last. So thinking that it was $50 to fill each unit I said go ahead, fill it up. After He filled it up, I texted Carmen back about his attitude only to learn that it was $50 PER POUND to fill the tank(see images). She told me it was a language barrier and after another painful phone conversation she replied that there was 6lbs left and he needed to fill 2lbs and that was a result of a leak which was on a part that the technician said replacement was covered in maintenance fee, but Carmen said would be covered in the cost of adding freon. When I mentioned that I'd rather just pay for the part itself Carmen said she could call him to see how much freon he's added and sure if we want to pay for the part but it's more than the cost of freon. This is a CLEAR INDICATION THAT THERE IS NO SET PRICELIST AND THEY CHARGE WHAT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT. Thank goodness we only had 2 lbs to fill, otherwise had it been 6lbs to fill per unit and I had given him the green light to fill without knowing it was per pound it would have $600! If language really was an issue, the technician should have called back to the office to have someone translate instead of misinforming the client. He had an accent but was fully capable of forming grammatically correct long sentences. USING LANGUAGE BARRIER AS AN EXCUSE TO MISLEAD AND POTENTIALLY EXTRA CHARGE IS NOT OKAY. Wrapping up the phone conversation she said she will speak to her boss about it and go from there. I requested to speak to him directly to which she explained he's currently out in the field, only the office 7-9 am and only answers to the team in email, which sounded like she's IMPLYING THE BOSS IS NOT AVAILABLE TO HEAR COMPLAINS FROM THE CUSTOMER AND ONLY THROUGH EMAILS FROM THE STAFF. I had a terrible terrible experienced with E and A mechanics. They don't call or inform me on the status of my service report . Twice my American Home warranty Insurance assigned me with this vendor. First one was at December , after they got the diagnostic fee of $65 to check on my heater. I have not heard about the status of my service request. So I called my Insurance, they said that I have an external connection electrical problem, so it will not be covered. I took the liberty to look for a second opinion. The engineer from another company was able to fix the heater. This March my HVAC temperature was not cooling properly but the compressor and fan are both working. Since my HVAC was covered under my American Home Insurance Warranty. I called them and lo and behold I got the same vendor the E and A Mechanics again., after they got the $65 diagnostic fee on Tuesday. I never got a report from the tech. I called my insurance they didn't get any report either. I called almost every day to both the E and A Mechanics and my Insurance they never gotten any report until 10 days, when I escalated the problem. You know what the mechanic reported ? GUESS ...electrical connection. So again my insurance will not cover it. I called another company VP appliances they arrived on the same day changed my thermostat and my HVAC worked in top condition... I will report both my insurance and EA mechanics to better business bureau for defrauding their customers. Tomorrow I will attach the email transcript that I saved My rating for this company minus 5 ... poor costumer service. I wish the owner of this company read this post. He might not be aware of what his staff is doing, From the technician, supervisors and the receptionist. read more

Like many others have mentioned, my home warranty company referred E&A to me. Within 20 minutes the tech had identified the problem and showed me a picture of an AC unit on his phone. He claimed a pipe was broken and tampered with, therefore he could not repair it on the spot and would have to file a report to proceed. It took him about a week to submit the report to the home warranty company; they had to call and email E&A to press them for the report. Ultimately the home warranty would not cover the repair because the tech claimed it was vandalism or tampering and not wear & tear. I've only lived in the property a few months and have no way to prove otherwise; the home warranty will only go by what's on the report. read more

Was extremely helpful went above and beyond our expectations. Our ac went out we called they showed up with in hours to help us. Thank goodness because this weekend we hit triple digits. Thankful for us it was a simple fix with the unit andre was amazing providing upto date information realistic timing to fix our unit made sure our vents and filter were in great working condition!!!! 1: when you called, u always has to wait for at least 5-10 minutes to get someone on phone 2: they schedule appointment according to their Convenience only, you have to adjust your schedule to compromise theirs 3: once they finally scheduled an appointment with u, they will"TEXT" you to say "They have to reschedule appointment because the technician is busy due to family emergency etc. AT LAST MINUTE. 4: When you ask if there is any other tech available, they will say they are all busy booked up, when you ask if for there's any supervisor or manager in the house, they will say they are all busy not available etc. Simply my experience for you to review.
