Update #2 Been a week and still won't return my calls. Update #1 I have left messages for you to call me. You have my number please call because I think we're getting mixed information and it's causing some unnecessary issues. I never got any quotes from you guys. Started last year when American Home Shield sent out E&A. They replaced my condenser fan and everything was working great. This year in late August the fan failed again and they said I needed a new condenser fan and compressor. When they came to install the parts they said there was a hole in the evaporator coil now and my unit needs replacement (why didn't they know they before?). In Sept E&A was willing to do an "upgrade service". We choose to go with the replacement unit though AHS because they told us it would be a replacement Rheem unit. When they showed up with Goodman I refused it. Then we called back to AHS they acknowledged I was misled and gave me the options to either "cash out or upgrade". We asked for the upgrade that was offered before. E&A now says they don't do upgrades even know a month prior they said they would and closed my service order without even talking to me. My remaining option was to get "cashed out" from AHS. Now it's November and E&A said they won't give me a quote despite being told "we can't work with you till you're cashed out". Meanwhile this whole time my wife is pregnant and we haven't had proper air conditioning. Never put your trust in E&A they don't care about you. Now need to find a new company that wants my money, since apparently mine is not good enough. read more

Technician came out through our First American Home Warranty as a second opinion. E & A was able to diagnose and fix the problem within minutes with a multimeter. Technician had parts needed with them and were able to get our heater working the same day in less than an hour. It was a capacitor that was faulty and the limit switch had tripped and was causing no power to be sent to the Nest thermostat, causing the Nest thermostat internal battery to run low and turn off. Since E & A fixed the issue, our Nest thermostat is now able to stay charged and able to communicate with the furnace's control board. Thank you E & A Mech Tujunga. read more

Got them through home warranty. Horrible company. The person had no clue what they were doing. All they did was go to the roof where the A/C unit was and smoke cigarettes, which would blow into the vents of the house. The entire house smelled like it. Their job was to get in and out of there as soon as possible to collect their fee from the warranty company. At the end, the excuse for the problem was a duct was clogged, which they weren't because it had recently been cleaned but once another company was sent to fix the problem, it had nothing to do with the duct, it had something to do with the gas valve. We suffered an extra week of no heat until the other company came out to fix the problem. read more

Scheduling an appointment was easy. They clearly told me the service would be conducted between 9a-12p the following day and a call would come from the technician when they are 30 mins away. There was no requirement to answer only to be at the location when the technician arrives. My call came at 11:39a. A subsequent call came at 11:43a saying the tech will be there in 15mins. At 11:52a I called the tech back and he said because I didn't answer, he went to another service address. He seemed disgruntled and patronizing in an Eastern European mucho voice. He didn't like that I didn't answer his call. I found it unprofessional that the office said he would be there but he went to another service call. After multiple attempts to speak with the office, they never answered nor returned my voicemails, he calls back at 3p saying he is ready. Because I declined service at that point, he hung up on me. I had an emergency at my home air conditioning compressor wasn't working E&A mechanical send out a technician that day and diagnose the compressor was frozen. I can see why all the bad yelp reviews for this company are posted. I explain to them that I needed this replaced as soon as possible didn't get a call back So I called them back they informed me that they have to have their supervisor authorize an estimate could take 2 to 3 days for them to get back to my insurance company and then the insurance company would authorize it that's their protocol. I would not recommend them for any work in the future from me or anyone else that sees this post. In response to your response I suggest in the future Can you tell your representative not to say 2 to 3 working days especially when it's 90° in my house I did call the home warranty company and they sent another AC technician he did confirm your technicians analysis of being a burnout compressor he sent his paperwork to our home warranty company and the next morning was out to put in the compressor. read more

There is a recurring theme in previous reviews that I should have listened to. I didn't seek out this company, it was the vendor my warranty company picked when our HVAC broke down in January. I thought going through my warranty and trusting E&A Mechanical would get the job done would save me money, but I was wrong. Fast forward 5 months (waiting for parts, re-scheduling because they realized they didn't have all the correct pieces, spending extra to hire an electrician to update the panel so it would pass inspection--E&A just hoped they could get away with not updating it). WITH my warranty I spent close to $2K to replace my outdoor condensor unit through E&A. The day we passed our final inspection, lo and behold our HVAC stopped working. We had major skepticism the entire time with E&A so we bit the bullet and hired a different vendor to take a look. They took a look and said our internal unit needed to be replaced and the wiring was "an electrical storm that was jerry rigged together". To fix all the mistakes of E&A it cost us an additional $3,740 out of pocket (no warranty) but it was accomplished in one week. Now our A/C works great and we have no complaints! I wish we never went through E&A--we wasted so much time and money. I want to warn others to reconsider using this company. Saving money might end up costing you more to fix their mistakes. I am convinced our issue was outside the scope of understanding for E&A and they just did the quick fix solution. read more

Company came out within a day of making the call to the home warranty company but called 4 days later and advised they forgot to get some info and needed to come back. I advised them there is a disabled child and an elderly person in the house and they cant be without air and 2 days later still no report submitted even though they promised via text to get it in asap. In the San fernando valley we have been going through a 105 degree heat wave and they act as though they dont care. Response to text messages not happening. They are very unprofessional and could care less about there customers. I guess when you are a part of the home warranties system you dont have to care because you will get customers regardless. This is a rental and I feel awful for the tenants. But eventually the home warranty companies will get enough complaints about them and they will no longer have the business because I sure did make a complaint against them. read more

0 stars... We have used this company on three occasions because our home warranty company, American Home Shield, keeps sending them out. The first time, I thought I was happy with their service. Our furnace needed repair in the attic, and the tech "fixed" it. However, the workmanship didn't last more than 17 days, and they had to come fix the issue in the attic again. Then, our blower for our AC went out 6 months later. We had to wait 6 days for an appointment with them. When they finally came out, the tech said he wouldn't go into the attic because the access was through the laundry room ceiling and there was a washing machine in there (duh it's a laundry room). Keep in mind, this is the same exact access and attic that they were just in two different times just 6 months before. We've also had other heating, exterminator, and other companies go into the attic without ever complaining about unsafe access in our home that was built in 2000. The tech said we would have to remove the washer and the dryer and call to reschedule. When I called the company to complain and question why they'd gone in the attic before, they said it actually wasn't a safety issue....they said they needed a waiver signed that released them of any liability if they were to scratch the washer or dryer. I told them I'd sign a waiver and to please send someone out since our scheduled appointment window hadn't even technically started. They said they would send someone out 3 days later! I ended up calling another AC company who came out the same day. No silly waivers, no removing the washing machine and dryer, and he went in the attic and fixed it no problem. Showed up 2.5 hours after the window we were given. We were not given a courtesy call to say they were running late. The technician was rude and did not listen as I explained what the problem we were experiencing was and what past technicians have told us. He threw his hands up in the air, argued and did not listen to anything we said. He said he needed to have his own opinion but didn't listen to what issues we were having to be able to form an opinion about them. He was asked to leave multiple times because of his unprofessional behavior and then threatened my husband stating "step off the property and we will talk". My AHS insurance company send me technician from E&A Mechanical. I have AC until that was cousin problem. Temperature inside house couldn't drop to cool down my baby's 's room, and my master bd. Technician Greg quickly find out problem.The unit was in terrible condition. Once, he maintained coils the unit started to cool down. If I could give ZERO stars I would. This company, hired by First American, came out on Wednesday and replaced some parts on the condenser. The AC worked for about a few hours before it went out again. We immediately reported it and when I spoke to someone from E & A, she said the soonest she could get someone out was Friday (that's today) between 3 and 6pm. Guess what... they were a NO SHOW! How does a company operate with such lack of professionalism? No phone call... no text, to tell us what happened to our appt. they leave customers suffering in 3 digit temps! I have a prehistoric wall heater which was not working efficiently and had a gas leak. Karen came out and explained the two visit repair that would need to be done. This was Christmas week. He carefully explained the situation/problems with the heater and assured me it could be repaired. This is versus the other companies which insisted the heater (circa 1960's) had to be replaced and could not be fixed. Well, Karen; who is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient fixed it! it is almost too efficient and i'm roasting in there. lol. What a fantastic guy! This company was sent out by American Home Shield. The phone contact was great, they called, set up an appointment and verified when the technician would be coming. The technician arrived, walked write in front of my neighbors and me, we were talking in my driveway, without a hello"" or an "excuse or pardon me." That was my first impression, didn't identify himself other than "the technician." After I asked who he was. I had requested an HVAC tech, as a pipe was leaking underneath my house. He wanted me to show him. I took him to the side of the house where the AC unit is he took pics of it then wanted to see the unit inside the house. I told him the problem was not the unit but a leak in the pipe under the house and it had been verified by the plumber. He wanted to see the unit in the house anyway. He had poor english comprehension skills, and I had to state this information several times. It was creepy as though I was speaking to a robot or something. I realized that it was a comprehension problem with English. I asked why he needed to see it as my heater is behind a wall mirror that is difficult to move, he just stated he needed to see it. He refused to help me take down the mirror so I took it down myself. We opened up the closet and he took a picture. I took him back out to the crawl space access to the house - he refused to go under, where the problem was - after he took all the pictures, because he said it had to be 32 " by 32" or he could not go under. My crawl space is the standard size, the plumbers were just under there. There is no building code that states the crawl space needs to be 32" by 32". I see that most of the ratings for this company are low, I can see why. They send people without language skills that take pictures and don't actually perform any work. American Home Shield often sends poor performing contractors. But telling me the crawl space needs to be 32" by 32" is one of the most laughable excuses I have ever had. I would not recommend this company for anything to do with your HVAC...unless of course you need pictures taken. read more

Absolute and utter joke. Unfortunately these are the people our home warranty decided to use. Our AC compressor went out. Which is covered under our warranty. But... to make sure they gouge us for every single dollar. E&A is refusing to replace the compressor with an addition $1,000 worth of add-on services. $120 locking caps, that cost $12 on amazon and literally screw on, there's no labor to install. $185 for a liner, that's basically a fancy pool noodle and will run you $15 at any home depot. Cut it to length, and it slips over the pipe. I can go on, but you get the idea. to make it worse, it's now been 9 days of triple digit heat and NO ONE will return our calls. We have called them and our warranty people EVERY SINGLE DAY. They should be ashamed of themselves. Find another sucker! read more

I pretty much considered this company an angel that saved my entire house and marriage. Basically I had a home warranty company send out a guy asses a A/C unit that was completely shot without the previous owner telling us when we purchased the home. After a bad assessment from the first of company my request was completely denied by the home warranty company. I was so mad I demanded another opinion, enter E &A. This guy came right over THE NEXT DAY and literally took two hours taking pictures and assessing my A/C that was leaking. Within two days I have an approval from my home warranty company, and they are covering over 5 grand just because the worker properly assessed my unit. They will start the replacement soon but what a relief!!!! read more
