Don't Use choice Home Inspections. Waste of money, costing me money. I expected a LOT MORE FOR THE…read moremoney. The report is long, but most of it is explaining things about parts of the house, not about the specific house he was hired to inspect. Most of the items he writes in the report "Get a Roofer, get a plumber, get an electrian, get an HVAC guy." So I paid close to a 1,000 dollars spent; and I had to hire an electrcian, and HVAC guy and a roofer to come out and re-inspect the house and pay more money. The scope of his work, is so fast, and vague, and he won't put his own opinion in the report, so what good is it to have? Moreover, he writes in the report, "Some of the outlets aren't grounded. Some of the GFI's don't work." He doesn't test each and every outlet in house, or garage, nor did he test on outlet outside the back door that the electrician found was tripped. He told me verbally in regards to the sewer camera scope he used: scalle it and to put a liner in it, but didn't put it in the report. He also stepped on a piece of wood in the attic instead of on the beams--as the roofer who came out after him, said he should have done, and he wouldn't have made a huge hole in the living room ceiling. He fixed the opening in the ceiling so poorly himself, instead of hiring professional drywall people, that it looks awful, you can see the taping and the mis-match in texture. I would not use Mark at all!!!! Oh, in additioon, the seller is holding out the deposit, because of the awful patch and paint job Mark did.

I used their service assuming that all home inspections were the same. I was wrong. The inspector…read morecame out and looked around and told me that some of the light bulbs were burned out. Later after replacing the bulbs I learned that they circuit is dead, requiring extensive repairs. A cabinet door that "needs adjustment" later fell off the cabinet because it had no screws in the hinges and was being held on by just gravity. Several electrical sockets were later found to be inoperative and the list goes on. I am very disappointed as the seller would have had to fix these things prior to the close of escrow. The lady at their office was very nice and I hope this was just a bad day for the inspector and not the norm.

However, the attorney stated that the only one who would win financially in the transaction would be the attorneys representing both sides. Don't be fooled by his statements of being bonded and legal recourse if he were wrong, etc. etc.. You as the purchaser have a lot to lose by Neal's incompetence. We purchased a home in 2010 and almost immediately experience significant issues. What really pains my wife and I is the fact that half the issues were completely visible to the naked eye and were even brought up by our real estate agent in the walk through. Neal however stated that it was nothing and that we should not be concerned about them. The remaining issues were not apparent to the naked eye however, our contractor stated that a good inspector should have been able to detect and note the items in the escrow process. Please reconsider if you are considering this company. We learned a valuable lesson and have encouraged friends and neighbors to stay far away. We have fixed all of the issues that Neal missed and spent thousands of dollars which we did not expect.
