4 entree with rice and fresh cold sweet tea
    James H.

Very nice lunch bar style. All the employees are super friendly and the food is authentic and the owners are proud of their good food. Different days of the week they have different entrees, and maybe the cheapest price for 4 entrees w/rice and a cold sweet drink in this area.

Stopped by around the area and my friends who grew up around here always kept talking about how this place was the spot when they were younger Had to try it out myself and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the popcorn chicken is and boba milk tea! The boba is perfectly soft and sweet, the milk tea flavor was masked by the sweet boba but that's okay for me. The popcorn chicken is BOMB. Cooked to perfection, seasoning is great, texture, etc. Got the medium spice level and it wasn't spicy-- which is fine I can't eat super spicy anyway. When I was waiting I couldn't find any recent reviews and thought now would be the best time. The last time I saw a menu post was from 9 years ago and from comparing it to now, not much has changed. I came in the evening so I think they put the food away. Store is very clean, they have the COVID-19 stickers on the floor. A bit of a wait when ordering but I think they didn't expect anyone come around 5/6pm anyway. Definitely would come back! Also you can order on GrubHub!!

    3 item combo with rice

My boyfriend took me here for lunch on a Wednesday because of their lunch specials. I think this place used to be a boba shop and the owners now serve Chinese fast food (3 dish combination with rice, soup, etc.) - and I guess on Wednesdays they have a special where they give you a free green tea along with your combination, soup and bowl of rice. They also seem to sell random knickknacks and stationery ... a little of everything. All in all, it definitely is a pretty cheap place to eat, especially in South El Monte where there aren't too many restaurants. They have the one dish, two dish, or three dish combination and they do change out the variety of dishes each day, I believe. I ended up getting the three item combination for about $5 or $6 which isn't bad at all as it came with a bowl of soup and a cup of green tea. I tried the eggplant, mapo tofu, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli, but I've also tried their chicken, egg and tomato, and pork knuckle as well. The dishes aren't amazing, but they aren't bad either. They definitely can be compared to the other restaurants that do this type of business except that the portions here seem to be a bit smaller. The soup was tasty, a fair amount of rice was given, and the green tea was pretty on point (a little bit on the sweet side, but it was free). Lots of people coming and going, and that does say a lot since this place isn't in the best location. A pretty big parking lot. I do feel like if you order to-go, you get more food than if you eat there. tl;dr: good place for a quick bite of fast food Chinese style. Food is decent, price isn't bad and the Wednesday special definitely will have me back again. CASH only.

It's been a little while since I've been to E@Cup I mean I use to come here all the time when I lived closer but since I have moved for a few years now I don't really end up here anymore. But recently I came in with some of my friends to grab a green tea. You can customize your drink by telling the lady how sweet you want your tea to be. Most of the time I'm just not really into anything being sweet so I just say don't add anything extra. I like that taste of bitterness. Parking is really easy for this place. It has never been a problem and service is quick and fast. Only been here for drinks but they do sell food also!!

    My 3 item combination

They're doing something right!!! I got there around 12:30 in the afternoon and there was a long line already. The line goes quickly ;) 3 item combination comes with a green tea :) I also ordered a boba milk tea to go. Total came out $8.02. Lady at the cash register is super nice. She waived the two pennies! Ordering is easy. Rice or noodle or half and half. The rest is just a matter of pointing at the food item that you want. Food is delicious. Enough said. Good job E@cup!

I randomly choose this chinese restaurant from Yelp because it demonstrates some good photos of food which arouse my appetite. I went there around 12:30 P.M.for my lunch break, and there were a lot of people waiting in line. I see customers are allowed to dine in, and it has tables outside also. All of the employees wear face masks. Since it is my first time, I ask the employee what their special is. I was told the the price for lunch specail were $7.5, $8.5, $9 for a two, three or four items plate respectively. They also have a green or black tea for $1 if you choose to buy aa three or four items plate. I finally chose a four items plate and a green tea for 10 bucks. Compared with Panda Express, their food is more Chinese style, and I think the price is relatively fair regarding to the inflation now. I may go there again for my lunch.

At first glance you would never recognize this small hole in the wall as a true gem. E@cup has superb customer service, the staff is really friendly and truly make you feel at home. You will even often find regulars here who have made this place a second home because they are that good. The owners are a Taiwanese couple and they are the kindest and hardest working people you can find in this area, it really reflects on the food and drinks they serve. Besides the amazing service the food here is also really good, the prices for everything made me peek at the menu to see if i ordered right. Everything is really inexpensive and delicious, how can you beat that combo for quick eats? My favorite part of this joint is their boba, it's prepared perfect. The tapioca is so much better compared to everything I've had in washington. A regular milk tea here is only $2.25, come by for a drink and some food if you're in the area. E@cup is definitely a MUST try!

Obviously, you can't come to a place that has lobster in the menu without ordering lobster, and we got the House Special Lobster (Large) with Garlic Noodle. Other items we ordered were the French Style Beef Cube, Braided Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, Beef Mongolian, Crispy Fried Sole Fish, BBQ Fried Rice, Clams with Spicy Sauce, Crispy Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper, and Clams with Black Bean Sauce. The portions are actually quite massive for each dish. All of it was very solid and tasty Chinese food. We were definitely very stuffed after this lunch was over! Service here is solid enough for a Chinese place. They were pretty quick with getting us extra plates to change out our dirty plates and more bowls as needed. And they were quick with the water. But yeah, you do have to flag them down to get their attention. They do have a parking lot here, and we got here early enough on a Sunday where parking wasn't an issue. However, I can see it being a problem on busier days. Boston Lobster is definitely worth a visit if you want solid Chinese food at a fair affordable price. Really good!

They had a Chinese menu and a Vietnamese menu. Honestly, it was a tough choice. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls , and the bun Bo nuong cha gio. The dishes were prepared with quality and patience. Lots of regulars in the restaurant it seemed. On this night , there were short staffed and I had to remind my server about my order a few times. The manager came out to apologize. She was a very good manager and handled things well. She offered me a discount, but I refused. Instead, she gave me a refreshing watermelon drink on the house. I will come back, next time I'm in town.

It is considered…read moreto be one of the best destinations for fresh seafood, with the accent on Chinese cuisine. What has shunned me from this place, is the distance and the traffic, from the SFV. Finally, I made the journey. And arrived for lunch, on a weekday. To come here and not order their iconic Signature dish, the House Special Newport Style Lobster, would be a sin. Imagine a trip that was almost 40 miles and an hour of traffic (one way), with no reward. It was time to experience the real thing. The signature dish. Walking in solo, I was given a booth. I liked that. On seating, I ordered a beverage to quench my thirst, catch my bearings and breath. Almost immediately, the servers kept bugging me to order. The place was barely 1/4th occupied. Whats the hurry. After all this, I had to repeatedly tell them, that i had already spoken with a server, regarding my order. Just wanted to relax first, catch my breath, sip my beverage. Coming here, I was aware that their tank lobsters would be in the 4-6 pound range. Good for, and ordered by, at least 3-4 people. So when I, as a solo diner, ordered a 4-pound lobster (with no other choice), just for myself, they began to leave me alone and give me more respect. The cut up wok prepared, House Special Newport Style Lobster, arrives wonderfully presented, with heaps of leeks, scallions and jalapenos. My kind of recipe. Truly unique and exceptional. There is no sauce, and only a mild flavor, yet tasty. My biggest concern here was (after reading numerous internet reviews), that the lobster would be rubbery and dry. Not so for me. I lucked out. Problem here is, while there is lots of meat (a 4 pound lobster will yield at the most, about a pound of meat), they do not have, or provide, the essential lobster cutlery, to do justice to this beautiful crustacean. I did ask though. They did not seem to care and told me to use my fork. LOL. Steamed rice is complimentary. So is a soup, with sweet and sour, being the only choice (I did not like this). Either way, my plan was to take leftovers (there was a lot), home, where I possess high class lobster cracking tools. And thank heavens I did. They were most useful, to crack and dig into all the lobster meat, that would have been inaccessible at the restaurant. With additional TLC, the leftovers held up well, to provide several additional lobster meals. Need to go back to try their enticing and reasonably priced variety of lunch specials (more seafood, choices minus lobster). Another sought after box on my list, is now checked.
