The 2 stars are for having spaced out outdoor seating, and because my father enjoyed his E Double Burger even though the patties were thinner than McDonalds. When we were seated we weren't informed that there was only one server working. It took about 15 minutes for him to come to our table for drink orders, where we also ordered our meal as we had 15 minutes to decide. We ordered spicy edamame (as a meal), tater tots, a burger with fries, and a Caesar salad. For some reason that took just under AN HOUR to get to us, with no updates from our server except once he said 'it's come right outI' and it did, over 10 minutes after that. More people seemed to be working as we were waiting, but everyone seemed flustered including the managerial looking woman running food out. It was overpriced and should not have been a 2 hour experience. It took our server 20 minutes after we told him we were done to look at us again so we could actually get the check. I understand being understaffed right now, but the lack of communication and the slowness of the food made this experience an unfortunate one as I won't be back nor can I recommend it to anyone. read more

Ate here 2 days this weekend. First day I got duck tacos and my daughter got a double cheeseburger (without cheese). The tacos were amazing - not fatty but rich and good flavor. There were 2 in the order and I was STUFFED! The burger was properly cooked. Disappointed that the server did not bring out ketchup with the french fries, but they did bring when we asked. We were pleasantly surprised they had malt vinegar for our fries too! Second day I had the turkey and avocado sandwich (with fries) and my daughter, again, had the hamburger. The turkey was actual turkey, not sliced lunch meat. It was a bit dry, I should have asked for a tad bit more mayo, but it was good flavor. Loads of fresh avocado on the sandwich! The french fries were great and I had their ranch for dipping and it was amazing - very fresh and a bit garlicy, which I like. Good service and polite servers. The tv was on a football game, but it wasn't obnoxious or overly loud. We did not have any cocktails, but had soda and they were very prompt to refill. Perfect comfort food (hard to get in LA) with the wedge salad and burger. (Cuban sandwich as also exceptional). Service is almost friendly without being overbearing and great outdoor seating options (entire restaurant is outside). Worth stopping here even if you aren't staying at the hotel. read more

If a rating of 0 was possible, I would have given them that. We decided to go down for a nice outdoor lunch around 12:30, it wasn't busy, people would come and go. We ordered and waited and waited and waited, over 1 1/2 hours and our food never came. As a party of 3 who only ordered club sandwiches over an hour wait for our meals to arrive is ridiculous. I would like to give a huge shout out to Charlie, the Bartendar. He always takes such good care of us. He always is so nice and kind and makes us feel very special. The first thing he does is greet us and ask how we are doing and brings water for our pup billy. The service is always on point. He makes the best drinks and if we ask for something a little different he always comes up with such a unique and refreshing drink. We love the outside patio and that EDB is dog friendly. Salads, pastas, steaks & drinks! I stayed here over a week so I got a variety of the staff & they were ALL amazing even the ones I had more than once. We tried to visit while at son of monsterpalooza event. On the third day of the event there was a 1+ hour wait around 2pm for the restaurant seating. I can understand that if the line was out the door. 20% of seating was 'reserved' and unused. How are you not even minimally staffed or ready for a crowd? This is a fail. The food was just ok. It didn't come out hot. We had the trout almondine. It didn't have a lot of flavor to it and the mashed potatoes were dry. I like the Marriott for many reasons. My work had a Christmas party here a few years back and all the staff had such an amazing time. The hotel is very clean and fancy. I stopped by the Burbank location to EDB outdoor bar and met bartender Jenny. She is one of the most nicest, polite, talkative, and laid back person I've ever met. Jenny is always smiling and checking on the customers to see if they need drinks, menus, or if they need anything else. Customer service goes a long way, its because of people like Jenny I will continue to come back and bring friends to the Marriott. All the other staff is friendly too, but Jenny is truly amazing! Good place to hang when your flight is delayed just across the street m the Burbank Airport! Food was really pretty good especially for a Marriott casual restaurant. Salmon poke salad was nice and fresh and light, ahi lettuce tacos were tasty. Had to send the fries back as they arrived cold but the new set were yum. Good selection of craft beers and cocktails. Nice that it's all outside, given the typical socal weather. Service was decent except occasionally long gaps between server visits - had a sense they were under - staffed for a relatively full place. read more

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and I arrived later than the rest of the party because I had a prior engagement. When I arrived everyone had already gotten meals and things of that nature. So I ordered sliders. Now let me first say that I understand that a lot of people are short staff these days and it takes a while sometimes to get your server's attention or food. That's not the reason for the one star. When I did get my food, my sliders were burnt. I took a bite and it was inedible. I told the runner, Patrick. I think his name was, he was super dope and he brought me to talk to the server. When I explain to server what happened I heard him say I'll take care of it don't worry,We'll make a new one on the house. Patrick also assured me that it would be taken care of. I got the new sliders, and they were better than the first but by this time I wasn't even really hungry anymore. Anymore so a friend helped me finish them. The old ones I gave to Patrick and he also was like. Yes these are burnt. I'm going to go show these to the chef. When the server came back to give everybody their checks, all of them were separate. I didn't expect one because of what he said prior. He came to my side and said where are the other sliders? The ones that were burnt. And I informed him that I had given it to the other person that came to the table and he gave me a funny look as if I wasn't telling the truth. But I didn't think anything of it until he came back with a check for me and I was confused but I was already running late to my next engagement and again they were busy so I didn't want to make a big deal. So I just paid it. I don't appreciate, establishments that say one thing and do another. I also don't appreciate being looked down as if it was a lie. I wouldn't return but again. I am a huge fan of this place and I love having this bar in the Burbank neighborhood.They have a great selection of wines, amazing mixed drinks and by far the food I had was very good. Definitely recommend the duck tacos and the poke bowl, I'm getting hungry just typing this. Ana, always goes out of her way to check on the guests and gets to know her costumers. No one cared to check on me or the order. Food was definitely not worth the wait, way overpriced. They take advantage of people staying at the Marriot hotel for convenience. I'm really between a 1 and 2 stars. Went 2 only because our server was very sweet. But we're never coming back. The space is beautiful, looks just like the pictures. Watch out for valet though, they charge $10 per 30 minutes!!!! Self park is crowded but much cheaper. Our server was very sweet. Not super attentive, but attentive enough to not make an issue (so she saved the second star! Yay! Food was very so-so. I had the sashimi and hubby had the poutine (which is really tater tots with sauce). They were both good, but not worth the $80 night (food, horrible drinks and parking). Lastly, and most sadly, the drinks. Full disclosure, we own a bar. We know what things are supposed to taste like. I had the cucumber martini which I saw raves on Yelp for so super excited to try. Hubby had the New Old Fashioned. Both were seriously watered down. Like crazy watered down. He sent his back. If you knew him, he NEVER sends anything back. It was that bad. I tried it, it was so watery I don't know how they can honesty serve that and charge $13! She took it back and brought a new one. She did apologized (again saved the 2nd star). The new one was a tiny bit better but you still could barely taste the alcohol. My martini was pretty watery too, but I felt bad so I just kept it. Needless to say, we didn't order a second round of drinks. So.... moral of the story.... if you appreciate nice bar food and good drinks, find somewhere else. If you only care about ambiance, this may be your place. Not ours sadly. read more

Bartenders are more concerned with polishing glasses than tending the bar... during dinner time no less. Three employees behind the bar and no one even looks your way. Horrible experience. My girlfriend and I went here for a date night with reservation. Our hostess couldn't accommodate us at a table with heating lamp right away although specifically requested during reservation however, we were told we will get the next available table. Unfortunately, we never did and walk ins were prioritized. It took the waiter about 20min to take our food order. Once ordered, it took about 50min until we got our food. Unfortunately, the food was sitting at the bar for about 10min while we were wondering whether this was ours. We sent it back as it was cold (if you pay $40+ per entree you expect it to be at least warm!) . It took another 25min until we got the food back. We requested another table again as we were freezing at that time of just sitting around but the hostess had forgotten about us and mentioned all other tables are now reserved. We got up and left and will never return. No comment on the food as we never tried it. I do want to mention that I'd be totally understanding if this was a struggling small business trying to figure things out. This is Marriott tho! Unacceptable ! read more

We made a reservation for 3 yesterday and tried to come in today for lunch. All the servers just walked by and ignored us and we waited by an empty hosts' stand. We had to really work to flag anyone down, including making a trip inside the hotel. When my friend finally got someone to slow down, the server merely shrugged & said "we're overbooked. I don't know why they didn't shut off the reservations." Then she promptly walked away--there wasn't an apology, no invitation to return. During this interaction, I was inside the hotel and was told to talk to someone at the bar. Okay. I walk up to the bar and suddenly the servers were talking around me. Literally. The servers, a Madeline or Melissa (something with an M), another blonde server, and Javier (although he did eventually tell us to sit anywhere while 10 ft in front of us & leaving the restaurant). They saw me, proceeded to talk to each other in front of me, then took a few steps, then continued to talk behind me. They were busy and overwhelmed, I get that. I will let a LOT of things slide. However, to treat someone as if they were invisible is not only poor customer service, it is also incredibly rude. We left after about 15 minutes. This was a great restaurant! It is located in the outside of a hotel in Burbank. I got a hamburger and my sister got the same thing. The only thing that bugged me was that they got my order wrong and gave me a lettuce wrap. Other then that it was good. The workers were very nice and caring to their costumers. They also got my right order right away. I really recommend this place. read more
