Good Food! Traveling for business and I needed some good, home-cooked food rather than the Chili's or faster foods. The Fried Squid (Ojingo Bokkum) hit the spot! Full disclosure, I have never eaten Korean food in Korea, but have at a Korean food cart on a side road in Singapore, that has to count for something, right? Also I have been hosted by Korean friends of the family and The Korean PRT at Bagram, and this was on par or better than all that. Further my brother has and he speaks highly about the food here. But, in all reality, I am not here to comment on the authenticity, but quality of the dinning experience. Quantity: My brother and I took advantage of the Saturday buffet spread. You will find Bolgogi (beef and chicken), galbi, whole fish, raw crab in spicy sauce, Jap Chae, Kim-chi, kimbop, kongamool, wings, a couple of soups, yaki mandu, and more. Quality: After three plates, I couldn't find anything that wasn't delicious. Came here for lunch for the fist time on a Saturday. Had the buffet lunch, which was a total of $15.25. I don't know if their lunch options are the same for the weekdays and weekends. What was available for this Saturday's buffet lunch were: rice, fried wontons, japchae (glass noodle dish), bulgogi, a few other meats, a variety of kimchi (cabbage, cucumber, fish cake, daikon, etc...), battered and fried shrimp and fish, a seafood stew, spicy raw crab, chicken wings, bean sprout dish, grilled fish (mackerel), and some other dishes that I can't remember. What's Hot: - Good quality. My friend and I didn't taste anything wrong with our food. For example, their seafood stew had shrimp, plenty of tofu, and mussels. - Decent variety. Notice I use the word "decent". There is not a wide variety of ethnic food in the Fayetteville area. So keep that in mind that is the foundation I am working with. The reason why I say they have a decent variety is because they have bean sprouts and some decent seafood. For example, there are mussels and shrimp in their seafood stew. They had fishcake kimchi (basically fishcake in a gochujang paste). Additionally, there was mackerel. Spicy raw crab is definitely not something you can easily find in this area, so... However, they have chicken wings to cater to the more American/western crowd. Not surprising and unusual for this area. What's Not: - Location. This place is easy to drive by. Case in point- I missed it and had to turn back in order to get to it. Their sign isn't very noticeable. My point- be aware and on the lookout when you're finding this place. - Their price for their lunch is a bit high, given that there's not a large variety. My friend and I only had about 2 plates of food. It seems like we may not have eaten our money's worth. - Variety. Would've liked some more fruit. There were only oranges. Maybe some melons, grapes, etc... I know, I know. You may think I'm asking too much or whatever. But hey, fruits are good for you! Besides, it helps tame down some of the oiliness from the food. Aside from their drinks section, there were no other sweet treats. - They had some slow cookers and a few other side dishes that were off to the side of the buffet. In other words, it was easy to miss. My friend and I didn't see these dishes until we were finished and paid for our meal. We saw it as we were walking out. - Their service. It probably depends on what works more for you. There was a waitress who came by to take our used dishes. However, their buffet is pretty much self serve. No one refilled our drinks. No one really checked in on us to see if everything was ok. Final Answer Would come here again. Wouldn't be my first choice for Korean food, at least for the buffet. Price isn't cheap, but if you're coming in to sit down and have all you can eat other than cici's pizza or grease packed chinese buffet, this is definitely the place to go. I have been a regular of E Tae Won since I was introduced by a friend a couple years back. To be honest, this is probably not a restaurant you would think of visiting if you have never been, because of its location. But look beyond that, they do offer pretty good home cooked flavors when it comes to their dishes. I have not been to another Korean restaurant that offer both hot and cold Bibimbap. Also they have pretty good selections of Jjigae (soups). Jjampong (Spicy seafood noodle soup) is full of flavor, and spicy! Went up to visit a friend in Fayetteville over the weekend... bought some under the counter from S. Carolina and took it up there cuz my friend said that soju costs $10 a bottle in NC... shiet... it was still $8 a bottle in SC... but he wanted some soju to eat with sum jok-bal (pigs feet) so i obliged... getting to this store... i was really laughing about the name... and going in, the names on the menu... they are TOO true to pronunciation... so we got some jok-bal to go to eat back at the house along with some so-ju... hmmm... not much to the package... im not sure whether it was because it was a to go order or not but all we basically got was the jok-bal, cabbage leaves, garlic, jalepenoes, dwaen-jang (bean paste) and sae-woo jut (dipping sauce)... all the basics, but nothing special... the main dish of jok-bal was pretty dry... garlic will be garlic... jalapenoes were not spicy enough (of course, my tolerance for spicy food is pretty high...) I guess, it was kind of a good thing that me and my friend were drinking soju and catching up on a lot of lost time... otherwise, the meal would have been a complete bust... on a separate note, my friend is a frequent diner at this place and says the soon-doo-boo (soft tofu soup) is very good... that's why it gets three stars instead of only two... because of my friends opinion on the other dishes... too bad i probably won't have a chance to ever go try it... read more

Today I tried their Saturday buffet. My family and I go there right at opening time. We sat down, got the kids squared away then, as soon as we are ready to eat a massive rush of people come in. This restaurant is quite tiny and it got uncomfortable very fast. In addition to that, the waitress never asked any of us what we wanted to drink...she just handed us all water and, we never got a refill...ever. They had a different variety of foods than they do during their buffets on the weekdays. I was told that there would be desserts on the saturday buffet but...there wasn't any so I was rather disappointed in that. Because they did not have enough seats for all the customers, it was rather uncomfortable sitting there having this group of people staring at you wanting to sit down. Also they charged 15 bucks for two babies and a young child.... TLDR; Come during the weekdays to eat the buffet then. You get better service, its more comfortable and the food is better. read more

Wonderful dolsot bibimbap! I'm pretty picky about my Korean food, so I didn't have enormously high expectations dining here. I went in with a friend and we both vetoed the buffet (which looked too greasy/not the yummy clean food I associate with Korean cuisine). Instead, we chatted with the adorable Korean woman in charge dressed in pink who conceded to make us some bibimbap. It was pretty busy as it was Bragg lunchtime, so it was clear she wasn't too keen on making detours from the buffet option...but boy was I happy she did! The sides were self serve at the buffet (not terribly fresh) and the whole joint is simple.
